I used to frequent this place when it was under previous management. So thought that I'd drop in to see how it was - better under the previous management ids the answer.

Some friends and I have been congregating here monthly for a year or more. Now that the decorating is finished it's pleasant and comfortable for a lunchtime chat & drink. The food is basic pub fare but good value for money, especially the sandwiches.

The pub no longer serves food. When my friend asked for the menus the owner grumpily replied that it been under new ownership for 18 months and no longer serves food. It was quite an awkward atmosphere after that.

We went for Sunday lunch and the food was horrible. Not a proper roast, none of the trimmings and surly service. This used to be excellent but the new owners appear to have changed the place beyond recognition.

AVOID! I went for a coffee with a friend and received a £140 fine! The service was slow and my friend was late. Neither of us realised there was a risk of a fine for using the car park and so for a £16 visit, I am absolutely appalled to receive an agressive letter threatening £140 fine increasing to £170 :( I am a part-time TA I cannot afford this and would NEVER intentionally over stay and risk any sort of fine like this. I SAW NO SIGNS so this is a shock. THERE IS NO WAY TO GET IN TOUCH WITH THE CAFE MANAGEMENT so best to just avoid in case this happens to you.

Had not realised it was called Pistachios, there we go. Dropped in part way round a longish winter walk but it was closing - closing time didn’t match the published times we found on a website so we were thankful we still got served - in take away cup and sat outside. It was just before 3:30 so still light for another hour so don’t leave your sustenance too late on. Nothing wrong with the take away offering in sustainability sourced recyclable cups. Very nice got chocolate that would put many others to shame. Shame the cafe is closed when I mostly visit - evenings on the 3G pitches. Friendly staff. Would have got 5* had we not been looking forward to a warm sit down and had to make do with a chilly picnic table.

On arrival the place looks lovely and welcoming but unfortunately that’s as far as it goes. I found the staff member cold and borderline rude. The food was served quickly. Coffee was bitter, the full English was horrible. The bacon looked and tasted like it was boiled, the fat was white and not cooked at all. The egg was over done and to be honest looked like it had been on a hot plate for 6 hours. The rest was ok, sausage tasted nice and the toast did have butter on it. I wouldn’t come again which is a shame as I live local.
