The food was amazing, not a long wait despite being full. Great service.

Visited here today for a family meal. Having never been here before, but had it recommended to me, we thought we would give it a try. Firstly, if you're anywhere near 6ft, you'll be constantly ducking down because some of the wooden beams are quite low down. Secondly, the waiting on staff were okay, didn't leave us too long until the end when it came to ordering dessert which took too long so we decided against it. The food came out in decent time and was nice and hot. It's a little on the pricey side, but where isn't nowadays? Only real downside was the space and the toilets weren't the best, but otherwise, all okay. P.S they LOVE giving out rocket on every dish.

We visited with friends for Sunday lunch and I highly recommend the food here. We had a range of dishes including Persian curry, pasta and Sunday roast - everything was delicious! Highly recommended.

A little disappointed that, although the bistro advertised itself as dog friendly, we had to eat outside, on a very cold morning. That aside, the staff were wonderful. The atmosphere inside, very warm and cosy. We both had the English breakfast and were not disappointed. We will be going again this week while our dog is at the groomers. Looking forward to beautiful food in superb surroundings.

Attended here for a date was lovely little restaurant. My only issue was very small and cramped but I guess the business has to make do. Food was good. Decor was lovely. Staff were pleasant and polite. Id recommend

Great little place, maybe a touch on the pricy side especially for drinks. Staff very polite and friendly, and quick service. I recommend the Pasta dishes. Visited mid week and it was busy, I suggest booking. I will go back.

As a relocated family from Melbourne Australia and now locals to Chirk, we are very grateful to have this eatery gem on our doorstep. At every visit, we have enjoyed such fresh, delicious, and generously portioned meals. The general ambiance is so inviting, warm, and stylish. The staff team is so responsive and friendly and should feel proud of their hard work and professionalism.

Pleasantly surprised by this restaurant in the town of my birth! Good service with friendly staff. Very good menu, well prepared and tasty! Price very reasonable. Car parking not ideal so plan ahead.

Absolutely loved everything about the place. The food was amazing, and it was served efficiently and we weren't waiting around and the staff were really friendly and the place itself was a very old, but lovely building to dine in, and my 2 friends who I had the meal with both felt exactly the same and cleared the plates, so I highly recommend it to anyone.

We were looking for an early evening meal after trying a few other places. I suggested we come here as my friends rated it highly even though I had never been. We walked in on a rainy night, and it was so busy and mostly full. However, the very friendly, welcoming staff took us to the covered outdoor rear garden and dining room and sat us down in this almost shed type warm dining room. The staff even put a birthday candle on my friend's meal plate and sang happy birthday to him along with us.. It's a very romantic, warm atmosphere with cosy tables, lots of wood, slate floors, soft furnishings, warmly decorated and a bit of a "tardis".. keeps on giving.. My mains was Moules Marinieres, and it was so delicious... served with a helping of baked baguette to soak up all the creamy sauce. Having never been here before, I certainly will be coming back more often and definitely recommend this gem of a Bistro , Tearoom, Wine Bar restaurant! It was such a great visit and experience to all the staff, a big thank you, and well done!!!

Beautiful, proper Italian food! I've been to Italy a few times and this place has got the food spot on. Delicious and high quality meals. There's so much choice on the menu it took me a while to make my mind up. I had a taste of my partner's steak as well which was beautifully cooked. Warm, cosy and romantic atmosphere. The little yard outside is lovely. Quick service and very friendly staff. Highly recommend and can't wait to try more on the menu.

This restaurant had once improved considerably, but unfortunately it has reveted back to a mediocre expensive terrible place to eat. Four of us went for a birthday meal I had the belly pork and asked for chips instead mashed potato (don't have chips at home). The meal was supposed to come with red cabbage, which never appeared. Instead a very soggy, slimy yorkshire pudding was substituted. The belly pork was the worst I have ever tasted, there being practically no lean meat and the skin was not crisped up at all. The chips were obviously over cooked. The same chips applied to my wife's fish and chips, she left most of them and the mushy peas were anihalated. Son in law had the roast beef, which was obviously the remains of the Sunday roast. Daughter's pasta dish was nearly all pasta that she could not finish. The meals were about £140 but were actually only worth about £40 The staff were helpful and friendly

Really looking forward to our evening only to be disappointed. My husband ordered Mussels and I ordered sea bass. The mussels should be taken off the menu as they are so disappointing the smallest mussels I have ever seen and totally tasteless. My sea bass was more a plate of potatoes and tomatoes. When we complained we were told, well no one else has complained about the mussels. They said they would take my husbands drink of the bill as a token of good will. My husband said he wasn’t paying for his food or which they reinstated the drink and took ten pounds of the bill. Poor customer service would not recommend.

Glorified nasty pub food with comes with a huge bill. Really sorry but the food is not good here, not sure if it's a bad night in the kitchen but it's totally unacceptable when you get charge so much money for such bad food Red wine was cold and bad quality for the £25 price tag I've been to one star restaurants that charge less! Staff were friendly and blistro premises were lovely, it's such a shame everything else was bad, really bad Hope this review prevents someone else from having a terrible experience

I came here with my granddaughter for an early supper before a show. The staff were very helpful indeed and our meals arrived promptly. Highly recommended.

8 of my family went some had starters all the mains came out quickly and hot each and every one of us enjoyed our meals mine was hunters chicken burger and the dessert wow I had the lemon roulade it was amazing. Shannon our waitress was very attentive and nothing was too much trouble so thank you to her. We will definitely be returning

Staying at local caravan site and eat at The Castle Bistro over 3 evenings. We had Excellent service, and well presented delicious food. Highly recommend

5 of us came here between Xmas and New Year from my mums birthday. 3 of us had been before but 2 hadn't. Thoroughly enjoyed by all. Quality and portion size is good for they money. Shannon and other staff are all professional with a smile to welcome you also.

We are never disappointed when we come to this restaurant. The menu choices are good, the food is always freshly prepared, served hot and delicious. The staff are welcoming and friendly. This is a popular restaurant and rightly so.

This is a lovely, cozy, friendly but professionally run eatery. Food is flavoursome and of plenty. Staff are friendly (and welcome with a smile) but with a professional attitude towards their job. Have dined here on various occasions but this time it was with 5 others inbetween xmas and new year to celebrate mum's birthday, we all enjoyed the evening and the others were impressed also. Thank you to Shannon and the whole team.

Great find. Expansive menu with something for everyone. Head straight for the free public carpark just behind the restaurant as there is very little parking on the high street.

This is an amazing gem in North Wales (Goggledd Cymru). We have been a few times for brunch but never for dinner. It was fantastic. The food was out of this world and very reasonably priced.

Myself and my wife booked a small cottage near Chirk for the weekend and found this lovely this restaurant. Excellent drink & food menus with dishes for everyone. On our first visit we ordered a starter and a main each; the food was excellent and the portion sizes generous so we could not manage a pudding but returned a few nights later and enjoyed a main and a pudding! The staff were excellent and managed to accommodate us on a Friday evening even though we had not booked but my recommendation would be to book at weekends. My only regret is I live 150 miles away in Gloucestershire otherwise I would eat here every week. Thank you to all the Staff and chef for two lovely meals.

A long planned visit to this establishment.. Quiet when arrived and quiet all night. Average service but meal lacked deep flavours in all dishes. Many raised voices herd from kitchen. Broken lock on toilet. Disappointed!

Very nice atmosphere. Food is good quality. However, some are quite pricey, and portion size is a massive issue. They are simply too large. However, the friendly service kindly offers takeaway for any leftovers. Unfortunately, the service is lacklustre at times, our table was asked by 4 different servers if we wanted to order drinks and then again with had we enjoyed our meal, which I did, but a table nearby had only half their order fulfilled and were left waiting for 10 minutes. Still all in all it was a good experience.

This is a really fantastic place to eat, the welcome from the staff is great as is the service. The menu has something for every taste and I had the best Calzone ever (and I’ve eaten plenty of them). The texture of the dough was unbelievably light and the filling was exceptional. We’ll certainly be returning soon.

We popped in for a light lunch. I had a panini with piri piri chicken. My other half had a garlic ciabatta with steak and caremalised onion. Both had lattes. Very welcoming and a really good menu. We both enjoyed what we had. Would definitely visit again.

I had the best lasagna I have ever had here! This place used to be a sweet shop, it has original beams and door. It is a nice place to eat, nice atmosphere.

The food at Castle Bistro is outstanding. We had the tandoori chicken Persian naan bread & the tandoori chicken pizza. Generous portions & worth a half hour ish wait (it was very busy) as you know it’s been prepared with care. Maybe more importantly, the staff are so lovely, sociable, friendly and look happy doing their jobs. Been several times before & will keep returning. It’s a little gem of a restaurant in the lovely town of Chirk.

Good place for a light meal at lunchtime, thought they do have a good selection of starter's, mains, and desserts on the menu if that's what you are looking for.

On a week’s holiday in the area we visited this splendid restaurant twice, once for Sunday lunch and once for an evening meal. Excellent food and service, with free parking around the corner. Be aware that they do prefer cash, although they will accept credit cards.

We came here earlier on today, for some lunch and coffee, we were unsure how it was going to be as we have never eaten here before. But it was safe to say it was beyond beautiful! The food was gorgeous and extremely well priced for the portion sizes that are served. Majority of the food is handmade too! Staff are very friendly, loving, bubbly and welcoming. They also were very appreciative when taking our times to decide on food! It is also dog friendly, which is a bonus. Dogs originally were only allowed outside in the ‘courtyard’ but due to the cold weather they allowed us to sit inside ❤️ Would recommend!!

Best pub food I have had for a very long time

Not bad. The calamari was rather chewier than it should be.

Stopped for lunch while in town and this place was great. Got a seat very easily in the county ward area which is dog friendly. It’s styled lovely out there and the staff were very friendly. We had panini with chips - very tasty and big portions. We also had a shandy, nicely refreshing, and a milkshake, that was nice and thick and pretty big.

A bit of a mixed bag on a hot evening visit. San Miguels not cold enough, My curry calzone pizza a bit light on the filling but my wife's chicken and chorizo risotto very nice.

Wow what a gem of a place! Excellent food and excellent service, our first time here but will definately be back. They have indoor seating and courtyard seating, cant believe how big the place is, so deceiving as it looks small from outside the front. The young lady that served us was so very polite and thank you for the service we received, the young man was polite and pleasant that showed us to a table giving us a choice of seating, thank you for that. With having people like this serving you it makes a place more inviting and enjoyable, you are both a credit to the restaurant. Thank you to the chef for the excellent food. If you are in the area it is definately a restaurant not to be missed.

We visited this lovely little bistro whilst away on a 2 night spa break. The food was amazing and staff pleasant. So much so we returned for a second night where we dined al fresco in the courtyard. Highly recommended and a hidden gem.
