I went on Eid, the food was bad, I ordered the pasta with chicken, it tasted like the sauce had sugar . The only thing I like was the sushi. The service was ok, but they kept getting the order wrong.

Came here for a birthday party, it was a lovely venue, great atmosphere and friendly customer service.

This is such a romantic sensual spot, enchanting atmosphere, beautiful decor, incredibly sweet and polite staff, and the food was absolutely delicious. The portion of fries is enough for two and came with an amazing sauce, the lamb chops were caramalised gorgeously, and the lobster linguine was great (you get two little tails and a generous amount of parmesan). Geeth was our lovely waitress who helped us pick our dishes (excellent taste clearly), she elevated our experience here with her warm and inviting energy. Will definitely be coming back!

What an absolute waste of money, I wish I had it in me to cause a scene and refuse to pay for anything but my glass of coke. The prawn tempura, obviously from frozen and was way too oily. Lamb chops, small, burnt, little seasoning and so tough that I couldn’t even eat the last one due to not being able to even cut it. The sushi was okay, nothing bad but definitely not amazing. The rock shrimp had more batter than shrimp but had good flavour. The truffle fries were a joke, there’s just sprinkling of truffle flavoured powder. The 5 star service is for Julia only, so sweet and paid attention. Atmosphere is beautiful, I will give them that. I advise to not bother to come here for food. McDonald’s down the the road has better quality. I really wish I didn’t pay for anything.

Oh my ~ the eel sushi rolls I love sushi and I've tried a lot but that was just out of this world, as u walk in the whole atmosphere is just right ~ even if it wasn't my style ~ I loved it I've also ordered a virgin Pina colada ~ very sweet, very tasty AND THE MUSIC ~ I really enjoyed just sitting there

Had such a great time Yesterday. Staff are absolutely amazing. They helped us organise a surprise birthday dinner for our friend. Customer service was 10/10!! The food was good. The mojito’s chefs kiss. Definitely will be returning. If you want to have a good time Makai is the place to go!

I had the king prawn boil in white wine sauce and it was gorgeous. Staff are nice but a bit green, cocktails were weak but overall a lovely night

Bad experience, we booked NYE as they said will be a lot of shows which will start at 10. Unfortunately, this wasn’t the case. We arrive at 9 we waited until 11 for no show and no DJ. This was a really bad experience as they ruined our NYE, wouldn’t recommend this place.

Patty (Patricia) was absolutely amazing. Her service was excellent and she kept checking in on us to make sure we were okay and were enjoying the food. Thank you ever so much for your lovely service. Such a great staff member.

I honestly don't know what all these great reviews are. First and last time visiting Makai. Food was oily and bland and the cocktails were strong but flavourless. The waiters are inexperienced and very forgetful regarding our orders. Overall, I would not recommend this to anyone! Not to mention the parking... not easy to find and definitely not park of the restaurant! This place looks great on Instagram but nothing special in real life!

Before I begin I would like to give a special thanks to Pati and Julie for the immaculate service throughout the night! I had the king prawn boil and it is hands down THEE BEST that I have ever had!! If you like your seafood I highly recommend this place… honestly incredible :))

1st time going and it was an amazing experience, and the food and presentation was 10/10 the flavours was flavouring, I was gonna complain cause you made us all crave for more lool, and music brought the good vibes and the belly dancer livened up the shmood as well, and a big massive thank you to Sapira delivering an incredible helpful bubbly service her energy from start to finish was superb and genuine and our group love and go off good Frequency so we’ll definitely be back!!! Patricia was our waitress on Thursday 2nd November and she was amazing! It was my friends birthday and she just made everything better, such a lovely girl!

Last night we celebrated a birthday at Makai Lounge. The lovely waitress Patricia took her time with us as we ordered, informed us of the customer favourite cocktails, and answered any questions we had on the food. We brought a cake, which was brought to us with sparkles, making the moment really special.

The staff are fantastic and accommodating. However, I was very disappointed with the food and felt it’s not value for money. The food portion were all different sizes when they came to our table. We were all still hungry when we went home. Overall, we still enjoyed the evening, with good music and danced the night away

Food was good but they let it go too wild to a big group that was doing shots and shouting so loud it was impossible to be there. We wanted to try desserts and maybe a second cocktail but left as soon finished our food. We specifically requested to sit in the dining room as we thought that would be quieter. But they ruined our night.. 30 minutes in and out like in a Mc Donalds

We hired out the restaurant for what everyone thought was a surprise birthday party but actually flipped it too a surprise engagement. The venue was prefect for the occasion and special thanks to Patricia who was briefed about the surprise just over a week before the occasion and was really helpful and also played a part in helping ensure the proposal happened seamlessly on the day. Also the Manager Saied was also helpful in answering any questions and making sure the staff ensured everything remained a surprise.

Hélia was amazing , polite and very friendly and happy , lovely dj and the drinks were lovely.

We went with family for my nieces birthday, they had a range of Halal options which was good. The food was decent and the service and atmosphere was lovely. The music was just tooooo loud that's the only downfall of the evening. Just be careful when you order your drinks and you request virgin, they are because ours had alcohol and then we had to get it changed, this can cause a issue for faith based people but overall it was good.

The food was not outstanding and not a wide choice on the menu. The service was excellent, a special mention to Patricia, the polite, helpful and attentive waitress. The atmosphere was good, well decorated apart from the artificial plants. The dining area was closed, the bar area had a DJ, so we had to sit in the Shisha bar although we are non-smokers. The four stars goes to the belly dancer which was another story. You have to see to believe 🤭

The food was amazing and the service was excellent. the seafood boil especially was one of my favourites. I was served by the lovely Patricia who made my dining experience excellent. The only concern I would say is that the dessert was too sweet. Excellent service and food.

Visited Makai after seeing it numerous times driving around the area and wanted to check it out. I was not disappointed at all, really nice cool vibe inside with a great selection of tunes playing. They also had a Dj there in the main bar area, which then led to the shisha area, such a vibe. Good selection of shisha's and the staff on hand are great and v.helpful. I would recommend visiting Makai 👏🏿

I visited Makai for the first time with a friend tonight. Great restaurant, the food was beautiful, well served and absolutely delicious. The makai special sauce is REALLY something special!! I visited around the opening time of this restaurant / bar. The team were super friendly I stopped by for a quick drink I look fwd to visiting for food next time - it is mainly sea food. rumour has it the our doors space is set up for shisha now

Amazing decor, and ambiance Let down by the super young bar/ waitresses who were bothered for your existence Food was 10/10 But the service let them down and the VERY dilited cocktails (Mohiti, purple dreams AND even the Long island) The doorman was nice, and was the reason for the 4th star NOT dropping to 3 I'll be back as the food was GOOD

Visited Makai with friends for a birthday. Was served by Ibrahim. He was very patient and pleasant. Service with a smile, recommended some of the tastiest dishes and even laughed with us when we made jokes. Music wasn't too our taste per se but overall enjoyed the night. Thanks Ibrahim!

Great experience overall, the rock shrimp and prawn tampura were amazing and drinks were great and on top of that Ibo and Ahmad made us feel welcome and made the experience even better. I will definitely recommend for more of my friends to come and enjoy the experience and the food.

Me and a couple of my friends went to Makai the other day. Ibo ,who worked there, was really good and fun. He made our experience ten times better and we all had a great time. Definitely coming back as the staff topped off the night , aswell as the drinks !!

So we arrived at the lounge a little late but we’re seated in the shisha lounge as we wanted to eat and have shisha at the same time. When we sat down we were told we could only order from the terrace menu which was a little strange but was fine we ordered quite a few starters: - Veg spring roll (£7 for two pieces) - Chicken wings (£9 for 8) - Prawn Tempura roll (£11) - California maki (£11) - Salmon and avocado roll (£9) - Rock shrimp (£14) - Prawn Tempura (£12.50) All of which was nice bar the California maki but that’s personal preference. Also we ordered a dessert that never came, but at that point we couldn’t even be bothered to ask for it. Strawberry mojitos (£8 each) which were decent and the Moroccan tea (£4.90 for a pot) was great as it was absolutely freezing. Things were going well until a group from the restaurant were sat down, the group was coming and going as they pleased which was really annoying as we were trying to have a peaceful night, they were really loud and staff didn’t seem bothered that they were making a lot of noise and interchanging people in their group probably around 10/15 people if not more. I’m not sure if staff turned a blind eye as there group was large and I assume the bill matched as we heard them speaking about spending £200 on a bottle of alcohol. Irregardless of this I believe customers should be treated equally regardless of bill size. And if there is such a large booking then they should make this clear when booking as we would have steered well clear. We also asked to be moved to a warmer section, initially we were told we could move them about 2 mins later we’re told it was ‘reserved’ the people that were sat there sat for around 20 mins and then left. Which was a little annoying as we had been sat for a while, even with the blankets provided ( which was very nice ) it was still freezing. Whilst I understand that it’s a Saturday night their Instagram doesn’t show the actual ‘vibes’ of this lounge/club. Then as we were leaving, the exit near the bar is basically a dance floor and people are just bumping and grinding everywhere blocking the entrance which was very annoying. They should cordon off the dance floor or have a separate exit for the lounge. I appreciate that the lounge closes at 10.30 but there should still be provisions for people to leave without being bumped and grinded on. Staff were really nice and polite hence why we didn’t ask for the service charge to be taken off. Definitely cannot be faulted. But will DEFINITELY not be visiting again.

Rami, Ahmad, and Ana were amazing hosts for this quaint birthday celebration. Portion sizes and quality of food were amazing! YOU NEED TO TRY THE PURPLE DREAMS COCKTAIL & the saffron cake! 11/10

This place is alright for food staff great just on a Friday evening and Saturdays it’s a joke turns into a nightclub thumping music cars blocking the road spinning off like max as well as honking the horns and I love across the road I do have videos of all yh is and have passed it on to the council

I came by last weekend and I loved the food the vibes and some of the staff were absolutely fantastic but yet others weren’t as attentive as they should be but I’m not really knocking them as I don’t think they understood what I was saying which isn’t ideal for a place like that but it isn’t a problem because our girl anesa made our night perfect and I wanted to say a big Thankyou to her as I know if it wasn’t for her recommendations and her service I don’t think I would’ve got the most out of the night so thank you again babes and would really recommend this place to anyone especially if anesa is your waitress!

Food is nice, however, not enough staff/ staff do not pay to much attention to certain areas of the restaurant as you have to wait long to even just have the menu, order, and to ask any questions.

Great restaurant and venue! I hosted my birthday dinner at Makai a few weeks ago and everything was perfect! Delicious food & great service, especially one of our servers that evening, Ibrahim (Ibo), who went above and beyond to take care of my guests and I. Thank you to all the Makai managers and staff for making my birthday celebrations exactly what I wanted! I'll definitely be coming back :)

Pretty average, on a Wednesday half the menu was sold out. The staff didn’t know what drinks they had in and were busy checking themselves in the mirror…

Highly recommended! the food is delicious we had the seafood boil. The staff are friendly and welcoming, great ambience and interior design. It even has a swing for those Instagram moments, nice music too. Fun for a night out.

Visited Makai with a friend for the first time, we had cocktails and food. The cocktails are out of this world, the best I’ve had, definitely got the best cocktail maker. The food was delicious, especially the crab salad and prawn rockets! Sushi was also amazing and we also had a seafood boil with the butter garlic sauce which was recommend by Anissa our waitress. Anissa is lovely and very welcoming, will definitely want her to serve us again when we come back! Thank you for a great service 😊

Been here twice, I must say the interior design is so beautiful, you can definitely get some nice pictures - especially on the fixed swing downstairs. Staff are welcoming and friendly. The food is delicious too, the makai special sauce is amazing. But I'd say only go here if you're prepared to spend £££.

Ibrahim Worked so hard to make sure my friends birthday was a success. Honestly he is an asset to the company. He was cool, calm and collected when handling a large group of people & sorted any minor issues that came up

The only let down was having to walk through the very loud bar/club to get to the restaurant that wasnt appropriate for my mum.. once we got upstairs to the restaurant , the food was sublime.Delicious crab salad,seafood platter, garlic bread and mojitos. Cant fault it.quite pricey though, £100 for the platter alone, and I was still kind of hungry after but j did share it with two others. I'd probably go back if they made a separate entrance... we were looking to privately hire but he said sorry cant close the bar you all will have to walk through it and music will be this loud.. which wasn't very nice but I'll take my 45 guests and eat somewhere else! :)

This cosy restaurant has left the best impression! Hospitable hosts, delicious dishes, beautiful presentation and wonderful dessert. I recommend it to everyone! The service we received was so amazing and we will be back again special thanks to Abdallah for making us feel welcomed and giving us an amazing experience.

Came here on New Year’s with my mum and cousin,we been waiting for a place like this to come locally. Great ambiance, simple and humble and welcoming staffs, it’s a really nice spot. It was a quiet evening there due to the pandemic but I liked it that way and food was extremely good, this place has the best fries. It’s a bit on the pricey side but to me it’s for like occasions and date nights, my money was well spent, I highly recommend.

We dined for the first time tonight at this fab place, chosen because hardly anywhere else in Brentford was open on New Year’s Day! But what a find! Excellent food and service!! We were really well looked after by our waiter Ibrahim, who took great care to provide food for my husband, who can’t eat capsicums- most of the menu does feature these, but thanks to his care, we were able to enjoy a really lovely selection of dishes It’s not cheap, but it’s really, really good!!

Food is amazing. King crab is so yummy in the Makai Special sauce. Our waitress Anissa was so attentive and kind, knew the menu inside out and was able to make incredible suggestions. The manager Ahmed was also very kind and welcoming with so much friendliness. Ibrahim the waiter was very lovely and helpful and was able to get us everything we wanted very quickly. All the staff are amazing and I would come back every day if I could ! :)
