Probably some of the best Tacos I've had. Definitely the best mexican food I've tried in Britain. Highly reccomend.

I’m just going to say it. This is the best Mexican food in the UK without a doubt. If you haven’t been then please just go. It’s a small restaurant but I have never eaten food like it. Authentic and absolutely to die for.

This could easily be among the top 3 best Mexican restaurants in the UK. Fantastic vegetarian options. Beef & lamb options (halal) were top tier. Looking forward to the possibility of halal chicken options. Don’t be put off by the small seating area, it makes for a very personal and cosy dining experience. Tamarind and rice water drinks were epic!

A tiny cafe that serves tasty Mexican snack food. The pulled pork tacos, Cuban sandwich and hot chocolate were delicious but felt the prices were a bit overpriced, for what is a sandwich without any salad or extras. There's only seating for four so probably best to order takeaway.

So happy to have a quality Mexican so close to home! I will be back again.

Me and my fiancé come here as regularly as we can and honestly, you will NOT be disappointed!! My absolute favourite place to eat. The food is fresh and so tasty, authentic and absolutely perfect in every way! We always have a lovely conversation with the chef too, he is a wonderful person and is always welcoming. Never dismiss this place, you'll leave wanting more!

Unbelievable Mexican cuisine, Francisco the owner makes all of the food fresh, which you can watch him cook, the portion sizes are generous and completely authentic! His selection of home made chilli sauces are incredibly tasty too! The home made fruit juices are so refreshing too. Best Mexican in Bournemouth, easy.

Amazing and authentic Mexican food.

We stopped by for a Saturday morning breakfast/brunch. Francisco helped us choose a Vegetable quesadilla, mixed Tacos, and Hibiscus Ice tea. The food was delicious and great to get to know Francisco while he made our food fresh. We will definitely be coming back!

Without doubt, a brilliant local eatery serving up fantastic tasting Mexican food. Can only comment on the Tacos (we had chicken, beef, pork between us) - absolutely no complaints from the family! The pork and beef won for sure 😋. A bit like walking into chef's kitchen...very homely, nice conversation whilst waiting and great explanations of each dish to help our decisions. Blink and you've missed it. Tiny place. Have passed it too many times and always thought the same - must try it out soon. Embarrassed to say Francisco has been there for 7 years...and today was our first visit. Definitely visiting again soon 🙌🏻. Oh, gluten free too 👍🏻!! Gracias Francisco!

Easily the best place to get lunch in Bournemouth. Authentic Mexican. The Cuban Sandwich is legendary. How this guy isn't packed out everyday just shows how underrated he is. Definitely go here when you can!

This is a place that you should try, the food is 10/10, the owner and cook is very nice, he will make you have an excellent time, very standard prices, I recommend it for any type of meal (breakfast, lunch or dinner) The food is wonderful, it will literally transport you to Mexico, a very homely place 10/10

A few years later from my first review and this is still the absolute best Mexican you can get anywhere in Bournemouth and Poole. If I am anywhere nearby I ensure I get Tacos and a Cuban sandwich. Absolutely perfect.

I found this place on google maps while I was on holiday in Bournemouth. I saw this place has 5 stars even though it has over 100+ reviews. So I thought it must be good. We went here for late breakfast before we go to the beach. Ordered tacos with pork and enchiladas with chicken. You could pick meat for tacos and spiciness for both dishes. The place was smaller than I thought but it is really nice little hidden gem in Bournemouth! He suggested home made drink so we got a hibiscus and tamarind tea. It was cute because he took these drinks out from the fridge which just looked like you can find someone's own kitchen🤣 The vibe of this place is like you are invited to friendly Mexican friend's house. We sat outside and he brought food to us. OMG... definitely the BEST TACO I've ever had! It was simple taco with some veggies and meat but wow... Meat were so juicy and tender with full of flavor! After I had one bite, I was like this is amazing!!! And I said to my boyfriend as I joke that I wanted to take him to our town and make him open the shop so I can go every day🤣🤣 But yeah, tacos were super good, and so was enchiladas. Nice cheesy flavor with yummy chicken! That day, I talked about tacos all day and I eventually wenr back there the next day before I go to the station to try some other menus🤣🤣 He recommended us Cuban sandwiches, which apparently is one of the most popular menus. We brought them all the way to London and had as a dinner. Even if it was few hours after we got, they were very very tasty with nice tender slow cooked pork with ham and cheese. We really enjoyed it and now while I am writing this, I wish I could have tacos from there right now🥲🥲🤣 I will 200 percent go back there when I go back to Bournemouth and I will go over and over again whenever I go to Bournemouth. Every one should try his food! He is an amazing cook and also very friendly and nice☺️☺️ thank you so so so much for amazing food!

Visited for the first time today and had the nicest afternoon! Best tacos I’ve ever had and such good conversations! It was a rainy day in Bournemouth but Casa GourMex made me feel like I was on holiday for the afternoon which is always a plus!! Will definitely be recommending to everyone I know!! A simple hole in the wall Mexican delight. You could walk by and easily miss it, but some of the best Mexican I've had this side of the Atlantic. Soo tasty! The tostadas and taco were standing out favourites

I've eaten here on a number of occasions and never been disappointed. The chef/owner is friendly and extremely passionate about serving the best authentic Mexican food. The Taco's are brilliant but my personal favorite is the Cuban sandwich washed down with an authentic Mexican soft drink. Five stars all the way.

The Lamb tacos and Tamarind juice were amazing. Really friendly service too.

Have been a couple of times now for a quick lunch and I have only eaten the veg options - very tasty, flavoursome and wholesome Mexican - can't wait until I sample the meat dishes (I've given it up for Lent). Great service from the Mexican owner & cook who is passionate about his food and homeland. Just bar seating, giving a cosy cantina/diner atmosphere.

Fantastic experience at GourMex. Cannot emphasize enough how delicious the food is and the guy is lovely. Try some of the drinks, too! We had the rice water (i.e. horchata), rice water with berries (daily special), fresh orange juice and another special. Note: this isn't TexMex, it's delicious, authentic Mexican cuisine.

Being a lover of Latin food, walking by this place and the smell catching my nose was wonderful. I was greeted by a lovely guy who made my tostada right in front of my eyes and gave instructions on how to best eat it. Great service. But the foood, it was amazing! So good, can’t rate it enough *chefs kiss*

The food from here was amazing! Just picked up some tacos, a tostada and a quesadilla- wow. The smell coming from the bag was so good. There’s so many average and inauthentic chain Mexican restaurants, it’s hard to find something good, but Casa Gourmex is better than good - it’s outstanding

The Cuban Sandwich is 5* Purposely located this little place on our recent trip to Bournemouth after reading all the great reviews. The owner was friendly and informative. He let my daughter and I try his homemade juices, the hibiscus, is delicious. Will definitely come back when we visit again.

The best food I bournemouth, I've tried everywhere, the flavours are insane.

The food here was absolutely incredible. I got a variety of things (chicken, beef and pork tacos, chicken quesadilla and pork sandwich) because I’d heard good things and couldn’t decide on what to go for. Francisco was so welcoming and friendly and had so much information to share about authentic Mexican cuisine. I can’t fault any of the food we chose, it was all delicious and was easily the best Mexican food I’ve had in the UK. Francisco also had some homemade drinks with mixed berries and rice water which were so flavourful and is more than happy to make the food to your taste. It’s now the only place I’ll go for Mexican in town!

It doesn't take much to smile at a customer when he walks into your restaurant. Unfriendly vibe. I felt like I was bothering the guy by simply asking for something to eat in his restaurant. Latin Americans are far more friendlier than this having lived there myself.

Incredible enchiladas, a really nice little place and so reasonably priced! A must try if you're in Bournemouth

My partner is from Honduras and wanted to go here for some authentic Latin food. She wasn't disappointed. Incredible food, spices blended for flavour rather than heat in the mild dishes, and according to my partner, for the hotter dishes too. My tip? Try the Jamaica. It's berry-ish, kind of citrusy, but made from Hibiscus flowers. I'd come back just for the Jamaica, but I'll be going back for that and some of the best tacos this side of Latin America.

Walked past and had a whiff of something familiar and exciting. Had to make sure we try something even after lunch. Ended up trying what we could and wish we had more. Tio F sent me down memory lane... like how my dad used to cook. We had Tostada, Beef Tacos and finally the Cuban Sandwich - and boy we're glad we had it here for the first time. The pork is so aromatic and tender. The beef tacos were like nothing we've had before, just amazing. Tostada with Chicken - eat fresh, so so good. Can't wait to go back.

Excellent food as always. The food from this place is amazing. I been there with my partner and family, everyone enjoyed the empanadas. Even my brother's girlfriend had a veggie empanadas. Also, we had some agua fresca of different flavours and 'café de olla' to the end of the meal.

Best Mexican food I've ever had in Europe.

Been craving Mexican food for a while , went to the beach with the family and the wife found casa gourmex on Google and I wasn't disappointed nearly missed it small shop but amazing food , had the taco trio could not get enough I wanted to buy two lots but the wife talked me out of it so disappointed with her after the first three I just wanted more , but sat on the cliff over looking the ocean eating taco bliss ps thanks for the direction 👌

Growing up in Southern California has made Mexican cuisine a staple in my life, and living in Bournemouth has left a large hole in my culinary cravings - but Casa GourMex and Chef Francisco have finally satisfied those cravings! This is by far and away the best Mexican food in Bournemouth. Please do yourself a favor and ask the chef about what he reccomends, maybe try something new and experience a cuisine that is so typically misrepresented in the UK!!

Delicious, authentic Mexican food

What a gem of a place! PROPER, authentic Mexican food and drinks. We tried several things and were talked through exactly what was what. We tried 3 different meat tacos, home made soup, gauva, chilli sauce, walnut cake, lemonade with fresh mint and coconut water and pineapple juice. Francisco was an absolute gent and was happy to answer all of my questions. I came away truly inspired. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
