Casa Bianca in Monmouthshire

Don’t get how this restaurant is ranked so high. Take my advice and don’t waste your time.

We are not satisfied, the pizza was a lot of dough and little toppings, we will not choose this restaurant again

Whilst this is usually a very good restaurant and their pasta dishes are excellent we had the sea bass and salad which was quite poor. It should have been served with capers and pine nuts but these were absent and furthermore despite no mention of any dressing on the menu both the salad and fish was swamped in a chilli vinaigrette. Also it says it is dusted with semolina flour which suggests it will have a light crispiness. Perhaps it did before the unmentioned dressing was added. Please let the description on the menu accurately reflect what's being served.

Busy and bustling downstairs but we were seated upstairs which lacked atmosphere. The main and dessert were fantastic but the starter didn’t taste fresh. Overall service was good, staff very friendly.

Food was beautiful, as always. Server got our food order wrong and was told to keep the starter (which we didn’t order) and she’d bring us the correct one too. Came to the bill and she charged us for all three starters, had to chase her to change it.

Very good food for the money and excellent service. Have been multiple times and never disappointed.

This is around the third time that we have had the pleasure of dining at the restaurant. The staff are friendly and helpful. The atmosphere within is cosy and very calming. Most important of all is the food. It’s authentic and fresh. I have nothing but praise for Casa Bianca. Best place in town.

Called in on a whim for lunch as we were visiting the area and they had a table free. The place was busy but it wasn't loud. Staff were quick to serve and there was a huge choice on the menu. Food and drinks were brought out quickly and was delicious. Had a bit of a wait to get the bill, but understood as the 2 waiting staff were busy. Place is a little dated decor-wise, but other than that really glad we tried it.

The food is quite tasty, but the presentation and service could be better. Lasagna was brought to us in a very hot dish, just out of the oven and they didn't warn me that the dish was very hot, I got burned, and there were also children sitting next to me. The waiters did not remove empty plates and bottles from the table.

Food was completely average at best, wasn't bad but sadly not good enough for us to return. The service also felt very 'transactional', and it was clear the girs just wanted to be anywhere else but there. Not even a hello, introduction, specials, checking on us, or worse - a smile! Sadly, we will not be returning.

Delightful evening with Devine food and happy helpful staff. Can’t wait to go again and try something else from the vast menu.

We've been wanting to try this place for a very long time. But life kept getting in the way. So we finally booked for a Sunday afternoon and it did not disappoint at all. Absolutely outstanding both service and food. Highly recommend Casa Bianca.

Excellent food fabulous service. Found it a little cramped. I understand that you need to get as many tables in as you can but we were too close to neighbouring table for comfort. I’m sure the chap next to me felt I was invading his personal space

Really good food and service, only downside is that I did request a window seat as it was an anniversary, I also booked many weeks in advance, but we couldn't have that, however this is pretty minor stuff and the whole experience was very enjoyable, we have been before and we will be back

25th birthday meal for three adults. A quiet tucked in the corner table was very pleasant and the service was excellent as was the food. For three people there was ample food and well priced in these ridiculously expensive times. We all decided that we will return. Surely that's the best review any restaurant would like!

The venue is beautiful and makes impression from a door step. The design of the restaurant is at top in every detail but isn’t it just a cover of many neglects. We went out for a birthday meal. We had a lovely service provided young waiter. However I cannot cover my disappointment with food. Starter which was sharing started of seafood was great and nothing to complain here. However my main course which was seabass ravioli was very dry. The fish was just putted inside with spices only. Sauce was nice although I think too complex for such simple dish. Then desert came - Tiramisu which was biggest disapointment. First of all it came as a cake…. Tiramisu is not a cake and I would be ok with that if was not the fact that Casa Bianca is Italian restaurant. The cream had no Mascarpone which is main ingridient of dessert (at least it did not feel it has one)! Others ordered cannoli which was good (but not crispy as it supposed to be). My boyfriends seabass with prawns and salad was dry as well. Also a lot of thing on the menu are „britisized” - most of meat meals sound more like pub menu. After all dinner was a bit costy and I do not think it was worth that price. I think Casa Bianca relays on the opinion from the past and lost a bit of taste and authenticity.

Had a wonderful experience at Casa Bianca today. Pre-booked as a family for our grandmother's birthday and asked for a nice table by the window. We had the perfect table with a good view outside, service was amazing by Anita who provided lovely conversation and attentiveness. The food was incredible! (Would recommend the lamb shank) Had a complimentary drink for the birthday girl which was a lovely surprise. Thank-you for making her day extra special!

Another amazing meal and outstanding service!!

Booked for valentines in early January and there was no mention of a set menu. Upon arrival we queried whether we could order off the normal menu which was declined, no bother we had our 3 courses which was lovely it must be said but when the table next to us sat down they asked the same question and were able to order of the normal menu which was disappointing. Tables are jammed in to make the most of the space as apposed to provide a nicer dining experience and when we asked for a water a £3.50 bottle was brought over without the waiter clarifying whether it was a jug of tap water for the table. Probably wouldn’t return

Just had food at casa Bianca and I can honestly say I haven’t enjoyed food that amazing in a long time! Every mouth full was just so full of flavour and just absolutely amazing with every bite! My partner ordered the 20oz steak tomahawk and it was just cooked to absolute perfection with ample amount of chips and a delicious side salad! I am gf and struggle to find restaurants to accommodate, but I have never been so spoilt for choice, being able to go to casa Bianca tonight and be able to choose pasta dishes, pizza etc was just so exciting and just cooked beautifully, I often feel un included eating out, but tonight was the first time I felt like being gf wasn’t a problem because of how many options there were! Fast service aswell! Soon after having our delicious starter are mains were not far behind! Alfred’s service tonight was impeccable, very accommodating, polite and friendly! Honestly can’t wait to tell family and friends to visit here because they really do deserve the recognition for such wonderful food and service! Thankyou so much!

Yet another first class dining experience at this lovely restaurant. Nice comfortable ambience , Attentive service , extensive menu and Great quality food , best ribeye ever. What more could you ask for .

Excellent food , service, atmosphere

Lukewarm welcome, lukewarm food. No idea where the great reviews come from! Starters of prawns and calamari were average but under-seasoned and not hot enough. Been sat around? Overdressed salad. Pizza and calzone both undercooked, raw doughy texture and taste. Service was OK but disinterested. We were looking forward to a Saturday evening out in a traditional Italian restaurant but left very underwhelmed. Shame. £80 included 1 glass wine and a 0% lager. Cannot recommend, sorry Casa Blanca.

Had a meal today with my mother and we enjoyed every bit of it. We started with a shared platter which was beautiful then followed by a main each which we shared. Delicious food.

It was a little pricey, but the food was good. Tables were a bit too close together for my liking.

Amazing food. Got excited and bought more than we could eat so took it home. Staff were lovely. Atmosphere was brilliant too. Saw a table magician walk round entertain the more lubricated patrons 🤣

Delicious! I rarely give a 5, and I wondered if the sauce could have had slightly more flavour of wine or garlic, but perhaps that's something you can ask for when ordering.

Restaurant was a little cramped but the service was good as was most of the food. The garlic bread was just a pizza base with added garlic on. Happy to have dined here.

Popped in for a quick bite. Service was fine and warm inside. But the lasagna was disappointingly small for the price - just shy of £14 for 2"x 2", but was alright.

Our first visit to this restaurant and it won't be the last. Wonderful lunch. Great variety and very tasty. Our server had the patience of a Saint. One of our group ordered the wrong thing and she took the time to explain what he should have ordered. He will read the menu properly next time! I loved the lasagne and my husband enjoyed the seafood spaghetti.

magnificent restaurant delicious food we went to eat for lunch with my family...we ordered chicken with pork fillet mud and we must say that the roast potatoes were really delicious accompanying our food...the mini pizzas for the children were really very good we recommend this restaurant...we decided to book the Christmas dinner...thank you casabianca..

Starters were fine but each of our four main dishes had problems. Wrong cuts of steak cooked incorrectly, Diane sauce was terrible. Pork medallions were lovely but the accompanying roast potatoes were raw and inedible. They did try to correct the problems but it meant we ate separately. Not a great experience for the price. Would not recommend as there are much better restaurants nearby

Very disappointed by Birthday meal booked here. Poor service and very dissapointing food quality. Bolognase was a paste not good quality mince. Lovely wine served in cheap glass. It seems to be going Down hill fast. Was our third bad meal here in last two months. It used to be so much better. They are no longer offering a personal touch. We will no longer eat out in here.

Food was very nice...party of 4...2 had ribeye steaks (very tasty, medium rare), 1 risotto with chicken and mushrooms (delicious), 1 pasta with veggies. Service was a little slow. Place felt a bit cramped, not much room between the tables.

Stunning authentic Italian food and a beautiful environment to dine in

Has lots of potential; but as this was my first visit to the restaurant, I have to reflect that the experience wasn’t quite up to scratch. The restaurant is stunning. Set within a proud period property in prime position on the main high street through Abergavenny town centre. Stepping through the door you are met by quirky, thoughtful design with gorgeous little nooks and crannies for a feeling of exclusivity. The welcome was warm and we were gracefully shown to our table. We had a light, airy spot upstairs, which felt somewhat private and therefore appropriate for the occasion. The food itself was well presented, very tasty and the crockery stylish. In fairness we were a large party of 14. This maybe proved a challenge to keep track of at times. Throughout the three course meal, there were many hiccups: drinks were forgotten about, a steak cooked with no question as to how the recipient would like it, an allergy declared during booking was not checked during serving which resulted in four meals being taken back to the kitchen, desserts late. In addition the young servers at times seemed indifferent or inconvenienced. The attention to detail just wasn’t quite there for the £450+ our group paid that day. All in all we had a lovely time together. I would say the 4* is because the setting, welcome and food were special. I would visit again; but this time only in a small group or couple. I have heard some positive ‘word of mouth’ reviews from friends. I hear flower petals were sprinkled over a table for a wedding anniversary table. The potential is clearly there.

A poor dining experience. Been a big fan of this place in the past and the main reason for coming back for a birthday meal. The food didn’t seem anything like what we’ve had before. No scallops offered, my starter Fungi Con Aglio was tasteless and consisted of dry mushrooms in dish with some vinegar’d bread alongside. The last time they were in a sauce that was very tasty. My main course of lasagne was okay but my partner had Pollo Con Funghi which was awful, tasteless and she couldn’t cut the chicken it was that tough. Sadly we didn’t stay for deserts so we can’t comment on whether the Tiramisu or lemon cheesecake was as good as last time. One younger waitress didn’t care less even when we complained and did nothing no even apologise. But later another waitress said she’d heard about the problem with my partner’s main meal and did take it off the bill…..We won’t be rushing back….

Used to really enjoy the food and experience here. The staff continue to be friendly and respectful. However, I’m personally not a fan in the change of menu and prices. I feel as though what used to be this places selling point is no more. What was good about it was you were getting excellent food at a good price. I can understand why prices would increase due to the economic crisis however it’s increased to the point where the price does not match the quality of the food. For example the spaghetti bolognaise, was around £9.50-£10 and now has increased by have the amount. Nevertheless, I still enjoyed my food however, the prices have increased to the point where it’s too expensive to be able to eat out. Therefore, this could lead to a decrease in costumers.

Antipasti Di Pesce, Funghi Con Aglio, Agnello Brasalo, Risotto Al Zafferano and Penne Verdure were nice. However, Steak Tomahawk was disappointed. It meant to be medium-rare but was over-cooked and dry.

A spontaneous first visit. Very obliging staff, Amber, Alice, Mia and Claudette accommodated our evenings requests with professionalism and a friendly manner. Alice showed initiative towards us and was very attentive when communicating with us. A very pleasant young person showing willingness to customers, nothing too much trouble for any of the staff. All food was served hot, fresh and very tasty. Good value. Excellent ambience/atmosphere, despite the rain under the canopy with heater. Would definitely recommend . Blissimo!

Wandering through Abergavenny looking for an afternoon location to have a celebratory drink before a special Birthday celebration later in the day we came across this vibrant looking Restaurant. It's bright colours and outdoor space attracted us on a very hot afternoon. We only intended to stay for an hour but ended up staying longer due to the friendliness and great customer service provided. A special mention to Zoey, who looked after us. She was exemplary in her customer service and knowledge. Well worth stopping here for drinks or for food.

Lovely restaurant, great decor, visited early on a Monday evening, I hadn’t booked. They were very busy but fitted me in with a time limit. Very attentive and efficient staff. Had two courses, both were good. Would go again for sure.

The restaurant was about half full on a Sunday evening. We were shown to our table and sat down, but nothing happened for a while, we had to ask for the menus. Ten minutes later a waitress took our drinks order and went away. Five minutes later another waitress came to take our food order and seemed surprised that our drinks hadn’t arrived so she took the order again. We shared a starter, mussels in a tasty tomato sauce, nice. My brother had sea bass ravioli but it was in exactly the same sauce, not impressive. I had a pizza which was okay but unremarkable. Not impressed.

Great place to go for a meal out. Really lovely staff, service was great. The food was amazing and I will definitely be going back again! Was a really nice time.
