Lovely food, and lovely place. Was a bit worried when arrived as there was no customers but we gave it a go and so glad that we stayed. Would definitely go again. Lovely place to eat

A good place to go with my sister and my niece Kevin came to husband to my mum We don't get together often but it's now a year since my mother's death so we both travel out and it was a good experience the food was really good cannot praise the size and the taste of the fish a lot better than the local chippies I didn't have the chips my sister and Kevin said timer lovely mushy peas antarte sauce where's spot on four four meals and tree drinks of coffee totalled£80 that I was happy to pay

We had a lovely meal here, we were seated in the railway carriage, lovely ambience, pork belly was delicious & my hubby had the burger which also was very nice, definitely worth a try! Cocktails great too,we would recommend,great food & service.

Over a course of 15 days and numerous villages and amazing places we still went to Carriages 3 times. It became our comfort food place and was well worth every penny spent. If you are anywhere around there you must give it a try!

What a epic place , if you haven't been , do yourself a favour and get yourself over there , you just need to go and try it for yourself

What a delightful pub with an exquisite twist...the theme Railway Carriage was just great,felt you were in a real train...what might be a great idea to have a background moving train track to give a sense that you are on the Orient express...Food was just great,the belly pork was amazing and local beer was tasty..such a shame we live somewhere 409 miles away on the South Coast😫

Lovely restaurant with a wide range of meal choices from standard pub fayre through to more unusual things like chowder. Very extensive cocktail menu with some unusual mixes. Sitting in the carriage is of course a novel experience and there are bigger tables out in the main restaurant for larger crowds. Also does beers and ales.

Excellent service and amazing freshly cooked food. Great choice of cocktails and loved the 'train carriage' experience!

Our first visit. We had to find a suitable venue for some Italian friends who were in the area for one night. They were pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food. We shall go again.

A small group of us visited for the bottomless brunch for a Christmas get together, the service was attentive and friendly and the food was excellent, very generous portions especially for a set menu and it was all exceptionally good! Will definitely be back !

Superb meal ad always well worth a visit

Wonderful food and service when going for a family meal but would also come back for a quiet romantic date. The food was lovely and there was a lot of choice on the menu. The seats in the carriage are only able to seat 4 if you especially want that. Also they were quiet when we visited (Thursday) but as an incredible location hope to see them busier.

6 of us attended, 2 of us are big eaters. We sat in the carriage, plenty of space, lovely food, very reasonable prices even on full menu. We went for the fish and chips deal but some of us had other meals. Puddings were lovely, all were full, satisfied and would recommend to anyone local or passing by. Will be back.

This is becoming our favourite restaurant now. Just so much choice on the menu alone, besides the daily specials. Staff are always so friendly, accommodating and knowledgeable about the food on offer. I also visit with a disabled family member, and staff are just beyond amazing with them.

I visited here yesterday evening with 20 friends, the services was outstanding - really attentive, really friendly and very smiley. The food was lovely too, gorgeous presentation and everything tasted lush. There were plenty of options to pick from too. The interior is quite a classic Italian feel to it and also good prices.

Lovely Restaurant, Offers Gluten Free Food and allows behaved Dogs. Nice homely food and some nicer dishes too. Staff are very friendly. Has a good drinks range as well as Cocktails.

We went here for my mothers 80th birthday. We were greeted by Patrick who was very attentive. Some of our group have dietary requirements and Patrick made sure that the kitchen staff were aware. The food was lovely and tasty and was reasonably priced. The chef even gave my mum a bottle of Prosecco which was a nice surprise and we have never been to a restaurant who has given a bottle of drink before. When we were leaving the restaurant the staff and the chef even came to say goodbye to us. We really enjoyed the evening and we recommend this restaurant for the lovely food and the good service especially Patrick. Could do with more vegetable sides with your dinner but not a problem

Visited weekday evening for a birthday. The restaurant was quiet and looked like just hotel guests using it to eat and what a shame! One of the best value Italian meals I’ve ever had - what an absolute gem of a restaurant! The food was just so tasty, beautifully presented….absolutely outstanding…I can’t say anymore! Nothing to complain about whatsoever! The waiting staff were friendly, knowledgeable, helpful and engaged in some fun banter! They had read my note on the booking about the Birthday and really made a point of acknowledging it, which was such a nice touch. The chef even came out and spoke to us and shared his passion, which was really appreciated. If I had to give any other feedback, it would maybe be the decor and style was a bit flat and didn’t feel like it matched the menu/food etc but that’s being really picky! 100% we will all be back - everyone should visit!

Best restaurant in Luton hands down. Need I say more? Well yes, Fillet steak with foie gras was unbelievable and one of the best wood fired pizza selections I have tasted

Spotted this little gem, while travelling to the nearby reservoir. Little unsure about the quirky train carriage built inside to give the feeling of fine dining aboard something like the Orient Express, but it’s good fun, and probably helps attract more people than an ordinary pub would, so 10/10 for ingenuity, but I’m not sure it’s completely necessary as the star of the show was definitely the food. I had the sea food chowder, which came with garlic bread and fries, and it was spot on delish. Sea food bang on cooked, good thick creamy sauce, seasoned to perfection. Garlic bread was light and crunchy and not too heavy on the garlic. Fries were fresh, not frozen, always good to see, crisp with skin on and light and fluffy inside. My partners pie was good and tasty, although she is not a fan of courgette, and their was quite a bit on the plate, in fact, I think it was the whole courgette. Her sisters lasagne was great although it kept getting compared to a previous lasagne which was swimming in an orange sauce. Malteser’s cheese cake for dessert was just divine, to finish the night off.

Little place off the main road. Girls working are lovely and friendly and very attentive. Service was fast and waitress efficient. Place itself is a little dated, bar area resembles a working man's club and the carriage itself was a little outdated and very tight for space round the tables hence the 3 star rating. If it was based on staff and cheesecake, they'd get a 5 star.

It's a lovely restaurant in idyllic in a lovely area. We had lunch there and the meal was very good and the Sweet's were amazing, I will go back there soon.

Amazing hidden gem in Luton! This place deserves 5 stars! Vey enjoyable evening, with tasty food in decent portions. We had the occasion to talk to the chef, and thank him for his tasty dishes made with such passion. Staff were so accommodating and friendly. We are looking forward to visit again.

Started with a pasta followed by a meat dish. All was cooked to perfection. Service was attentive and fast. Price of both food and drinks was reasonable. If you are looking for some authentic Italian food in the Luton area, this is the place to be.

We were in for a real treat and a fantastic surprise 😁 when we booked a meal without knowing anything about this place. We were taken back once we entered to find an actual train carriage inside the pub, I know the name kind of gives you a clue but WOW. Definitely would recommend this fine establishment for a romantic evening with a loved one or a family gathering 😉👏❤️

Pizza & Calzone we chose were absolutely delicious, loads of flavour with a very light pizza dough base. Truffle fries as an extra were very more-ish. OMG what a yummy tiramisu… Restaurant is beautiful in its Italian decor and staff are very friendly, nothing was too much for them. Definitely a great place to come and dine. We will be back!

This is a very nice restaurant with a unique decoration, very comfortable seating. The food was very tasty. The service was friendly and efficient and we were absolutely delighted with the company of the sweet Lily, the restaurant's dog 🥰. Highly recommended.

Absolutely incredible !!!!! Went on Sunday to celebrate my niece’s birthday. The restaurant is wonderfully clean and very charming. All the staff are excellent beyond a fault. Not only is it a chic restaurant but they also have a wood fired pizzeria oven with a traditional Napoli pizza chef. The owner is a Master Chef. Fabrizio is clearly and literally world class and the food is exquisite. The prices are very reasonable. We had starters, pizzas and also ordered off the fine dining menu. If all arrived together, quickly and at the perfect temperature. All in all, this place is a hidden gem and absolutely recommended. Well done !!!

The carriages part of the restaurant was nice, but the main dining area lacked atmosphere. Food was average but service was excellent.

The decor inside and out was very unique however the service and the food was lacking the standard expected, our server got our order wrong more than once, staff appear to congregate around the bar, I had noticed as more guest were coming in staff weren't as attentive as you'd expect at welcoming them in considering it wasn't busy and guest were left waiting to be seated. Food was average.

What a wonderfully pleasant find! We were travelling home from London this evening, when we stumbled upon this restaurant… what a wonderful little gem of a place! The food was delectable, the service impeccable and the ambiance, decor and such, beautiful, stylish and warm. Our waiter was affable, charming and knowledgeable, with no affectation or hard sale, rather, informative, knowledgable about the food and offering suggestions to entice… the food was just phenomenal and whilst the prices may reflect that, I would urge you not to be put off as the quality is well worth the cost for a nice evening out. We will certainly be back in future!

Good value and tasty lunch menu. Was a bit cool in the carriage and for me could have done with some background music, even if very low.

We were staying at the hotel and booked into the resteraunt for dinner, so we didn't have to drive. It was definatley worth it. The food was good quality, tasted good and as described.

Amazing food. We ordered a pizza piccante and pollo supreme with a side of broccoli. It really was exceptional food. Best meal for a long time. I usually venture in to London. I asked how the broccoli was cooked as it was so delicious but the chef wanted to keep it a secret - I don’t blame him, I guess.

Our expectations were quite high given the reviews and as we have Italian relatives, we have travelled there a lot and love the cuisine. As the price is high for Luton, we thought that we were in for a treat. Unfortunately it fell way short of expectations and the food was pretty average. We tried everything and nothing stood out as anything more that what we would expect from an average restaurant in Italy. We won’t be returning, even though the staff were great.

Not been for a long time. Stopped for Sunday, lunch, myself, wife and granddaughter. Didn't book but there was room in the family section. The staff were very friendly and the atmosphere was calm. It was a dog friendly area and I thought it would bother me but it didn't. I would definitely go again.

Leicht zu erreichen in Derbyshire,an einer Kreuzung. Das Restaurant im Eisenbahnwaggon ist eine Mega Idee 💡 und das Essen war wirklich lecker und gut. Leidet fand ich es für fish and chips etwas teuer,trotzdem ist es ein Stop wert.

Absolutely amazing food, best steak and ale pie we’ve ever had. Lovely setting, can either sit in an old train carriage or in the main bar area. Both lovely and very comfortable.

Had a lovely meal here on a Saturday evening. Food is reasonably priced and both of our meals were excellent. My Chicken Breast served in a Cider & Tarragon sauce with potatoes and green beans was wonderful, one of the best meals I have had for a while. A full bar offers a good selection of drinks and thye have over 20 cocktails to choose from. We will definitely be eating here again when we are back in this area if the Peak District.

Fantastic food and staff, was so good went back again within a week

I had my mums 60th here and the staff were so accommodating, I was able to go in and decorate early and the staff were so helpful. The buffet they provided was amazing and everyone had a brilliant night!

Lovely restaurant bar. Located between Ashbourne and Buxton just off the main road. The quirky railway carriage is ideal for a more intimate dining experience. Food of good quality at a reasonable price. Recommended.

We went to carriages for their bottomless brunch which was lovely! (Defo try the continental meat/cheese option!) So much so we rebooked for another bottomless brunch! Lovely food and fab service! We have since been for breakfast and also evening meal! I’d recommend booking in the evening though, the seafood chowder is our new favourite!

We've been here once before and really enjoyed it. Unfortunately on this occasion it was really poor. We were shown to our table and we ordered drinks at the same time. The lady with our drinks gave us the menus and disappeared. After 20 minutes no-one re-appeared at our table so we asked a passing waitress who took our order. We then waited patiently for another 40 minutes to no avail, so we went to the bar, paid for our drinks and left. The excuse was that they were very busy, yet the place was only about 1/4 full. Goodness knows what would happen if they were full :(

Wow, what a discovery by chance. At Newhaven junction a must for all train enthusiasts. Choice of 1st class dining in the Pullman car or 2nd class on platform 1 or 2. Great choice for cocktails too! Hic! 😎💙🇬🇧👍

We had our 40th Wedding Anniversary party at Carriages a few days ago and the food and service was exceptional. There is a very nice, welcoming reception / lounge area for a pre or post dinner drink. The food (4 courses) was cooked and served...

We called in mid bike ride and were made to feel most welcome. Staff friendly, approachable and talkative. Lovely coffee and cake thank you

This place was amazing, massive portions and great prices, really friendly staff, the kids loved sitting in the carriage section it was like you was sitting in a first carriage on a train, we even took half of the pizzas home for dinner, reasonable sized car park, and clean and fresh bar area will definitely be visiting again

I passed this place on a trip to Manchester Airport, looked it up on Google maps and booked a table. We went on a Saturday night and it was quite popular. The car park was almost full. This is a really novel dining experience that has had some thought, and some money put behind it. The food was really nice and good size portions, it was also well presented. We also thought it was good value for money and we would not hesitate to recommend a visit.

A very pleasant surprise to find this on our holiday. We sat in the carriage in first class and the food was the best we had all week! Wish we found it earlier in the week as I wanted to go back.
