Very good experience using the train station in Cardiff. Clean and very effective. I was very impressed with the punctuality of the trains and the way to handle the tracks maintenance. Very well managed

It is as simple as this - James Sommerin is the best chef in Wales by a country mile and his restaurant in Penarth is a must visit. Our most recent visit was on Friday 17th April and how we enjoyed his magnificent 5 course tasting menu with accompanying wines – each course seriously better than the previous. Having been fortunate enough to have eaten in 2 and 3 star Michelin restaurants, James’ food is worthy of 2 stars in my humble opinion. How great it is to see the guy working in the open kitchen whether you go on a Tuesday lunchtime or a Saturday night. This is a sensational restaurant that I have resisted the temptation to post a review on TripAdvisor as I don’t want the world to know just what a talented guy he is. But having enjoyed his food for the umpteenth occasion on Friday, I really do need to shout it from the rooftops. If you want fine dining in a totally relaxed restaurant, this is like driving an “Aston Martin with flip-flops on - luxury on a plate!

Arrived in Cardiff at about 11am on Sunday. Was a bit underwhelmed. Not many places opened to grab a bite. Wandered through city centre and it felt a bit like recovering from Saturday night fever!! Spent most of time in a shopping mall. And then left for the Wales castle which was a bit disappointing. See my separate review on it. Probably not going to be visiting the city again!!

Spent long weekend in Cardiff in early March and thoroughly enjoyed it. Stayed at Travelodge just outside Cardiff (Whitchurch - much cheaper than any hotel in the City centre) but the buses in were plentiful and cheap. Stagecoach staff were helpful, as were all the locals we met during our stay. Cardiff people were friendly, cheerful and helpful, despite their team losing to Charlton! Would not hesitate to return to the City, there are so many attractions we could not fit them all in. The whole place had a great atmosphere, especially the 'Old Market Tavern' where 'Beastie Boy' from The Chase made sure us OAP's behaved ourselves!Highly recommended.

This coffee shop has closed. There is a notice on the door that the landlord has repossessed the premise. A sad day as it had a friendly atmosphere and nice comfortable chairs😥

This used to be next to Craft in the Bay, on Lloyd George Avenue, but it is no longer open as a café.

As always great atmosphere and good food. Staff are ace. Only thing is why with the great food do they serve sub standard cheap coleslaw. They need to maybe copy the Ocho Lounge in Penarth!

Lovely spot to stop for a coffee & a cake on the commute into the city centre. Coffee was lovely, service very friendly and there's a good range of bike items and reading materials on offer. It was glorious sunshine when I visited so enjoyed sitting by the sunny window.
