Cardak Meze & Grill in Thanet

I went twice to Cardak with my brother and with colleagues in the space of two weeks this March. Very friendly atmosphere, courteous waiters. The food - excellent starters, I was impressed by the saksuka with aubergine and superb mains, lamb shish, adana shish and kofte - was excellent and the Turkish wines - both white and red, I remember a red called Angora named after the capital Ankora - were fantastic. Will definitely come back.

The guys managed to fit us in last minute on NYE and the food was great quality, everyone loved it. Couldn’t fault the service either, all really friendly staff. Will be back for sure!

Great service and fantastic food

Great place to let your hair down with friends. The 4 of us has various shish with rice and the sides we chose from cigar shaped parcels to hummus and pitta. It was all tasty and plentiful!! Large restaurant so we didn't overwhelm the other customers after a few glasses of rose among friends. Reasonably priced and very friendly efficient waiters. No after dinner mint chocs which I was hoping for - just to top off the evening but I do love a mint or after eight chockie with the bill when on a girls night out. I won't take any stars away for that obviously. We all enjoyed our meal. Thank you. We will be back.

We had the pleasure of dining at Cardak Meze and trying their Lahmacun and Lamb Shish dishes. The Lahmacun was perfectly crispy and flavorful. The Lamb Shish was cooked to perfection, juicy and tender with a delicious marinade. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was cozy and welcoming. Overall, it was a delightful dining experience that I would highly recommend to anyone visiting Broadstairs.

My daughter booked here for my birthday meal and it was delicious 😋

overall the food was excellent but the main course i ordered was not to my test.Presentation was very good .The dessert a excellent.

Recently I had lunch at Cardak Meze & Grill and ordered their T-Bone steak. The steak was prepared for perfection and matured at the right level. Enjoyed our food with the work colleagues attending the restaurant.

I ordered steak. The steak was thick, raw, with lots of fat and bland. It has no spicies and no gravy. It was very dry. I am sorry but I did not enjoy my food and regreted ordering. The cheese cake was ok. Thank you for your food and service.

Went with a large group of 26 people. Huseyin and his team were very professional and patient with us. A sincere thanks to all at Cardak for ensuring we had a good lunch time on our trip to Broadstairs.

Average food quality not matching the price .

Good food, great customer service, portions could be a bit bigger.

The food was mediocre, chicken and lamb were overcooked and dry. Portions are small and when you're paying £18-20 for a main course you expect to receive a decent portion. Ice cream was just bad and at £6.90 it's daylight robbery. Unfortunately some orders were wrong and we were too polite to correct them when they came out. Furthermore the ambience is killed by the amount of flies that are flying around whilst you're trying to have a conversation or eat. Overall, I'd give this place a miss and won't be coming back.

Food was good but portion of the platter for 4 people seemed little compared to other places. Food wasn't too salty and service was good.

Staff friendly and served us promptly. Food was amazing! We had a hot and cold meze then I had aubergine stuffed with mince lamb. Pitta bread was light and fluffy. Would definitely return!

Delicious food with generous portions, nice Turkish music, and great presentation. I personally ordered the mixed kebab, which included very juicy chicken, lamb, and kofte. I also tried the chicken beyti that someone else in our group ordered, and that was tasty as well! Complementary bread and olives provided, as well as burma for dessert and tea. Overall, everyone enjoyed their meal would happily come again. Service was good too, very friendly people here!

Has been disappointing the last few times, but thought benifit of the doubt should be given , but omg the steaks we were served was something else, had the restaurant bag then up to take for the dog, the dog turned his nose up.

What can I say about this place that hasn’t already been said food is fantastic and freshly prepared the staff are fantastic and delightful and go above and beyond to make you welcome this is such a perfect restaurant that we find ourselves going back time after time highly recommend you visit and you won’t be disappointed

We come to Broadstairs for a holiday once a year and make sure we always book a table a Cardak. The food is so tasty, cooked to perfection and the staff are so friendly. Highly recommend coming here. X

Very Very good Turkish cuisine. I thoroughly enjoy this place every time I visit.

Tried the mixed Shish (chicken and lamb) and thought it was a lovely meal! The waitress kindly provided bread and olives as an appetiser, which were also delicious. Front of house service was really good.

Delicious food, ample portions and very friendly staff

I’m not the type to review restaurants regularly but we have just dined here (party of 6) and the service was cold and any sense of occasion completely devoid. My main problem here is some one in the kitchen has prepared Hummus but neglected to add garlic or lemon juice which is the most simple of ingredients in any Hummus….we were served a thick Tahini dip with no flavour at all….all of us called it and instead of replacing it or acknowledging a wee mistake the young chefs made a point of proffering dirty looks through from kitchen door. The Cardak special was lacking in flavour across the board and I can honestly say that if you want traditional Turkish fayre spend the extra £10 and go to A la Turka in Ramsgate….at least they have a modicum of service etiquette and simply FAR tastier grilled meats and sides….the meal was substandard and service like something you would expect from a café trying to do Turkish fayre. Wrong. 1/5….it’s simple do better dudes.

We went as a large family group of 11, including 2 children 1 of which only had a plate of chicken wings no rice, chips or salad. A high chair, and showered her with affection and complimentary house made bread and dip. Is a regular venue for us because of their great friendly demeanor and atmosphere the experience is fascinating as you get to see the kitchen with high flames which fascinates my 16 month old daughter.

Ordered a big order from this company through Uber, sharing meat platter for 2 and a sharing platter for 2 cold mezze plus chips, the order was over £40 but disappointingly the amount of food came out was inadequate, even for one person, never mind 2 for the price! I called the company to inquire about this and they told me to: “if you don’t like it don’t order from us again!” which is my exact advice to the rest of you!

They do lush Lahmacun and great price .

Great food, lovely lamb always cooked to perfection... The salad could do with some work though...maybe some onion and cucumber!!

Last week I got Turkish pizza it was delicious My friends recommended and they were wrong ! It's not ok it's absolutely delicious So I went there today second time all the way from ashford got 18 Turkish pizza was delicious soft Highly recommend

It is a very family friendly restaurant with excellent ambience. Very best and clean. The food is excellent quality and the staff are very polite and nice. The food is freshly prepared after your order. We ordered mix grill and kofte and I would give 5 star 🌟 for the food. The bread is complimentary and very freshly prepared. The food taste is authentic turkish and fairly priced. The food is halal. Will definitely come again when we visit the area.

Good food cooked fresh, fair price, clean comfortable restaurant and lovely staff

We were staying in the local area and decided to visit this place on the basis of the reviews online……I’m pleased to say we were not disappointed. We visited on the Bank Holiday weekend (Sunday) and although we didn’t make a prior booking, the staff managed to make space for our family. The food was well-cooked and had good flavours and was brought to the table promptly. The seating area is well spaced out and prices and portions are reasonable. You also receive complimentary olives and bread on arrival which is nice. Parking is reasonably easy, with high street parking (pay-display) or the residential roads nearby offer unrestricted parking. Highly recommend this place and will definitely revisit!!

We just had dinner in your restaurant and such a good surprise after a beautiful day in Botany Bay, service warm and fast, super nice staff and the food was amazing and we knew it from the first bite of warm bread at the beguinning: falafel crispy and tasty, hummus perfect, the fries were delicious and the little salad as well! Thank you for making our day trip to broadstairs alltogether magical❤️

First and far most, I want to say that what ever the brilliant reviews about this place have said so far, just like mine, are all understatement of what an amazing place this is. We were here for a week holiday and despite the very many amazing eating place in Broadstairs, we couldn't resist coming back here the second time after our first visit. I have nothing by great reviews for this place, the food is fantastic and freshly prepared. The staff are delightful and go above and beyond to ensure you have a pleasant experience . The decoration is amazing. The hygiene og yhe place is excellent. Without a doubt this is such a perfect restaurant that I keep finding myself going back time after time, highly recommend you visit and you won’t be disappointed.

Food was INCREDIBLE and service was almost instant and very friendly, I was not expecting this level of quality just from the outside. Highly recommend! Special thanks to our waitress Jess who was lovely, accommodating and timed everything perfectly.

Food was excellent, a big portion of well cooked meats that are full of flavour. I got the mixed kebab. The bread was freshly made and absolutely delicious. I got take away and would recommend pre-ordering as it takes a while to prepare. But it's worth the wait.

Ordered a couple of sirloin steaks for takeout. Wasn't sure how they'd be when i got them home but wow. Absolutely spot on. A perfect mid rare, juicy and delicious. Fries also cooked beautifully. Couldn't recommend more. EDIT: Had a sit down meal in there tonight. Even better. T-bone was positively delicious and worth evey penny. Fantastic staff. Fantastic food.

Food was excellent but a bit slow to arrive.

We had dinner my self and daughter last night with our new born in his pram seat. The restaurant was busy and we had to wait a little longer for our lovely meze which was somewhat delayed. The manager/owner came to apologise and when the food arrived told us that the meze would have been FOC and on the house. We appreciated the food, the service and the kindness of the manager and his staff. Thank you

We gave the fish and chips a miss on the Broadstairs seafront, and walked a little way into the town and found this Turkish restaurant. We both had olives, Ezme and some freshly made bread, which was a tasty and promising start. I then had Cacik, Kisir, Falafel, Humus, and some more lovely bread. Himself had the Kasarli and Sucuklu Pide, which came with a beautiful salad. The food was lively, tasty and spicy. Very enjoyable. Along with the friendly, attentive service, we couldn't resist ordering the homemade baclava, and even some to take away. Check out the Cardak, it's well worth it. We'll be back and we definitely recommend it.

Unbelievable traditional Turkish meze and grill, have been going here for a long time and would definitely recommend. The staff make you feel at home and cater for your every need, everyone is very polite and helpful. Mouth watering kebabs, the food is cooked to perfection.

I've been here only twice to dine in first time was excellent second visit I found the chicken shish dry and not tasty at all

I felt very uncomfortable and a little upset at your restaurant I know you will know who I am as the waiter after he said the offending comment changed his attitude and was less rude .. my partner wanted to leave but I was to uncomfortable to get up and go I hate confrontation at any leave

Very average. Kebabs were good but not special. Service great but Turkish wine we tried was terrible.

Amazing food, lovely staff. TJ provided great service. They treated us to some olives on the house and catered to our requests. Great place, I would definitely recommend it. Bring cash if you want to tip, as service is not included in the bill.

Nice service and nice starter too

Just had a couple of take out kebabs, mixed shish and mixed kebab. Not from the area, so just randomly picked. Fantastic food, meat very succulent, salad, rice and bread all included. Defo going back, maybe before we leave, highly recommend. 👍👌👏

Have eaten in here or had a takeaway 3 or 4 times over the last few weeks, the staff have all been lovely and very accommodating and the food has been excellent on every visit. The portions are generous and everything is freshly prepared. A real little gem on Broadstairs' High Street.

Good place nice atmosphere, amazing food, my only complaint, which isn't really a complaint, is that they forgot about my Pepsi , which I did get in the end, but it was because it was very busy at the time and also a member of staff called in sick so they were slightly understaffed but overall great food reasonably good prices, definitely would recommend!!

We had a wonderful meal on Friday night. After a terrible journey from Suffolk it was lovely to be able to relax and have such a lovely spread in front of us. We were greated with beautiful bread and tasty olives. My husband was delighted with his calamari which was cooked to perfection. Our kebabs were beautifuly cooked and take lamb was perfect. We look forward to returning.

This place used to be absolutely perfect, than the guys swapped the waitresses and the quality of the service went down. The first welcome is still nice, but you finish your dinner and nobody asked if we would like some afters so we just paid and left. Unfortunately the young waitresses are not us efficient as the old staff. The food is still absolutely amazing.

Good quality Turkish fare served by friendly staff at reasonable prices. Delicious hummus and excellent Turkish coffee. Recommended.

We were only in Broadstairs for a few days and we had booked a table at this restaurant in advance of our trip, after reading reviews online. We were not disappointed. From the moment we arrived, the welcome and service were both excellent. The menu is quite extensive and varied. We enjoyed a lovely Gin and Tonic whilst making our choices from the menu. Our starters were absolutely delicious, as were the main courses and the desserts. The food was tasty, well prepared and beautifully presented. We had a lovely bottle of red wine (Villa Dulca) to accompany our meal and finished of with coffee. The bill came in at just under £80.00, which we thought was excellent value for money.Totally recommend this restaurant for excellent food, service and value for money.

We visited on Saturday evening and the restaurant was buzzing. The services was very prompt and friendly - nothing was too much trouble. The food was delicious and the Turkish red wine (Kavaklidere Yakut) a great find. Very good value.A really lovely evening, thank you. We'll definitely be back when we're down that way.
