Very impressed. Fantastic views and a really nice interior, staff were super friendly and attentive. Food was great and came out lightning fast even though the place was almost full.

Literally just trying this wee place because we stumbled on it by accident at the marina in Findhorn, totally brilliant we just stopped for a coffee and had loaded fries as lunch but everything was so nice and the view is incredible

Good standard food menu, much better that it's bar service as the table service wasn't working. Great place when the weather is good and you can sit outside

SUCH a cute restaurant!! :D I have rarely been to a restaurant as cozy and beautiful as this one. The employees were very friendly and the food tasted great! (And it happened very quickly too) I can warmly recommend it to everyone!!! <3

Situated on the shores of Findhorn Bay a lovely vista of sand dunes wildlife and the bay .the captain table has large windows to enjoy the views friendly staff lovely food good prices, dog friendly and seating area out side .in cooler weather there is a beautiful fire very cosy seating

Such a lovely place I always get the pizza which is always tasty ! The view is fantastic from the window seats and it's always nicely decorated and staff are welcoming ! I have been in a lot over the last year and never disappointed!

One of the best locations you will find to have a drink and something to eat. So relaxing if you can get a window seat. Dog friendly.

Bit of a trip out of the way, but totally worth it. Lovely pub/Cafe staff. I had the Eggs Royal - it was great. Fresh salmon and really amazing sauce. Great view for a cold morning. Full of dogs, who were all very good boys and girls.

Had our Christmas works meal here and I felt a real effort was made for us. Of note were the welcome drinks, table decor and the quality and organisation of the service. The waiting staff handled the busy, noisy, tricky to navigate area with great skill. Well done.

Visited this afternoon with my son and dog Cara we were welcomed by Louise and Izzy. The girls were so welcoming, friendly and helpful - lovely girls credit to your establishment. 😊

Great place to stop for food as they don't mind dogs coming in. My two Labrador's were welcomed in.

Nice cosy restaurant with views over Findhorn bay. We saw plenty of seabirds and a seal whilst dining. Decent fish and chips. Avoid the brown sauce sachets though are a little weird - far removed from HP.

Fabulous setting, seating and tables look lovely, staff were nice. Dogs extremely well accommodated for. Atmosphere excellent. Food dreadful we had two scampi and chips at £15 each. Chips were cold and greasy salad consisted of lettuce and one small tomato. Scampi greasy and oblong shaped ? Even tartare sauce was tasteless. Come on Captains Table you have a fabulous setting with great atmosphere you need to up your game on the food.

A great cafe at the tip of Findhorn . Good choice of food and drinks, dog friendly too. Worth a walk down to the shore afterwards.

We were made to feel comfortable and the dog was welcomed as well. The food was very good and we were serviced promptly.

We popped in for coffee on a windy, cold Friday, didn't know what to expect, but we loved this place. The modern woodburner and stylish decor gives a scandi feel. Coffee quickly turned to lunch after a review of the menu. Tasty brisket fries and the best lentil soup I've ever tasted, all served by a friendly team. If I didn't live three hours away, I'd be back every weekend. Thank you!!

Stunning seaside location, with tables inside (some with a sea view) and outside. Great service and food, and even the seagulls were polite enough to wait until people left their tables before seizing on the left overs!

The food was so nice however they didn't like clearing ur plates after u have finished eating they even brought over more coffees for us as we had ordered but just left our plates on the table which I thought was bit rude .

We only had an ice cream, the young person servings attitude was bad. The general appearance of the premises is that of a "dump". The car park is a total disgrace and has been for years.

We sat outside with our labradors and soaked up the sun and atmosphere, what a little gem of a place ,close to bay, close to the beach and not far from the beach parking. Wonderful service and really delicious food 😁

Lovely little place in Findhorn bay. Good food choices on the menu and great service. There are tables outside that look over the bay, perfect for a nice relaxing lunch. Beware of the seagulls though!

Everytime we holiday in Scotland the captains table is a must. We absolutely love the food here the loaded fries are fantastic. The view is absolutely fantastic. I didn’t rate the pina coloda.

I think this place must have changed hands. We have been coming here for years, always excellent service and food but it has gone downhill in all ways. We had a meal and drinks here and then I. was told I could not use the toilets because I had no shoes on and this was “against health and safety”. The woman who said this was rude, officious and unpleasant and threatened to call the police!!! We will not be returning. Plenty of other much better establishments in Findhorn.

The chips were great but the chicken wrap had celery in it, however it wasn't listed on the menu as an ingredient. Sadly this ruined the meal for me as Celery has a really strong over powering taste.

Sat inside, food ok but not table service. Paying mostly for the location and bay view.

Had the posh fish finger sarnie, delicious and freshly cooked. Managed to get an outside table with great views. The overall experience was great.

The place looked and smelt dirty, toilets were dirty the seats had rips and holes in them. The beer wasn’t good glasses were covered in lipstick. The salt and pepper shakers and table numbers were dirty. Floor was worn and dirty the food was expensive for what it was.

We had an excellent lunch yesterday. Family took us to this place that looked like nothing special from the car park but as you go round the corner the view of the marina is amazing and there is loads of space both inside and out. Dogs are welcome which was a bonus Food was great and we waited hardly any time at all. Great place!

The food was delicious. Thoroughly enjoyed the Buckie Haddock. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Keep an eye out for their live entertainment. Or if you want to be the entertainer 🎶.

I feel like I need to compliment this place. In the midst of a time where the customers are becoming more and more peckish, annoying and demanding huge and silly menus, this place got it right!! Right size of menu, with options for the fast food or the homemade food. We live in Inverness and came across this spot by chance on a day out. What a lovely find! We've been back 3 times now, to have dinner and we were never disappointed! And I don't believe we will be, when they are smart and have the right dishes in their menu! We've had pizzas and Fish and Chips. No doubt, one of the best fish and chips ever, and who'd say the pizzas are delicious too?? I love the goats cheese one, I could drive just to have that! The staff is very friendly, the service is at good speed. I just wish them a lot of success and congratulations to the chefs, the food is really good! My partner is a very good chef and I'm a pastry chef, we can cook at home any meal we want, but sometimes all you want is a simple, incredibly tasty meal! And they nail it here 😊 For sure, our favourite spot when out and about.

Best fish and chips ever!!! A lovely no- frills place overlooking the bay, plenty of seats inside and outside as well. Fish is fresh, the batter is just right and the chips taste like real potatoes. Must try!

This is definitely one of those don't judge the place by appearances. We thought at first the place was closed down, but we saw people walking around so we followed them. We were there for the lunchtime menu. It's a basic menu, nothing to fancy. The fish was beautiful, the scampi was nice and the chips were great. The side salad was a bit of an after thought, but we weren't there for salad.

A quick visit, was able to purchase ice creams and crabbing lines. Friendly helpful and courteous. I think the establishment was undergoing decorative improvements at the time of our visit, but the place looked good, and I am excited to see the finished results on my next visit.

We were here at a slow time. Perhaps it's better when it's busy. Everything was ok, but just ok.

30th june 2023 Visited in the evening first time since menu changed. Limited choice of dinner items , no dessert and restaurant closed at 9pm ....bit disappointed 27th june 2023. Just an update on the new bar service.....went in today for lunch and the bar ordering worked perfectly, staff were helpful and efficient, meal came quickly. Only disappointment was our muffins were a bit dry....and you can't see the cakes now as they are kept in the kitchen April 2023 I,ve reviewed this place poorly in the past due to some poor service but visited today for lunch and had a great experience, snappy friendly service, food was good....I had the chicken wrap and fries with salad which was great then a coffee and cake. The cakes have been pretty unadventurous in the past but are improving .....there are several new members of crew who are motivated and high energy, the back restaurant area has been refurbished and has some much more comfortable and stylish tables and chairs. We'll done Captains Table!

Terrible service. Staff just not paying attention. This was a Tuesday morning, and not particularly busy. We were given a menu and told to pick a table outside, which we did. Party of four then took the table next to us and after five minutes someone took their order and disappeared again. After twenty minutes of waiting we gave up and left.

Lovely evening sitting outside. Had a great cheese burger and chips and good banter with the staff.

Cracking food , great staff , clean and in a fantastic location , vegetarian option too 👍still cracking 👍

Man, the pizza here was crazy good

My Bestie and I sat outside in the beautiful warm evening sun and enjoyed a light refreshment....(last of the big drinkers!!) - sharing a table with a delightful young man and his Dad! The pace was reasonable given the constantly changing environment that is an outdoor dining space. The food was piping hot....we shared two starters.....onion rings - very crispy- and some chicken goujons....both extremely HOT...just what you want while sitting outside! The only thing which would make me think twice about having the goujons again is the amount of pepper in the coating...way too much for me. I feel strongly that if an ingredient makes that much difference to a dish, it should be mentioned in the menu description...a shame since the chicken was very very tasty! All in all though...we would both go back and try something else from the menu....lovely young friendly but not overbearing staff...well done!!

Food was great. The haddock from Buckie is really tasty and fish & chips with a cup of tea is perfect on a windy day at Findhorn. Only the atmosphere was marred by a child who would not stop screaming 😱

Really good tasty fresh food whIch came relatively quick! However front of house place was shabby and looked like needed some TLC as seats were ripped, tables unclear, floor was shabby and Toilets were also dirty. I would go back, but pics online deceiving.

Had a lovely coffee with grandparents by the sea sitting in sun in evening. Drinks were amazing staff all very friendly, were served by Grace who was very friendly and so understandable of dietary restrictions and Fiona also was so lovely and the manager so kind. Will be back at every opportunity. Have also had dinner here many times and it's been my favorite place to take people out to. Fantastic place

my son took me for mothers day,,,was gutted tbh as i was so wanting this place to be good,as it was a lovely beautiful day,gorgeous setting,and place was so busy,i exspected to wait a while for my order once seated,but when it was finally served,the fish was all batter which was very greasy ,,no fish filling insides atall,i like chunky, beefy fish with a thin coat of batter,so was very dissapointed, so would not go back unfortunately,,but other dishes looked lovely, i hate leaving reviews like this,but im just being honest

From the outside it does not look too great, but the food, staff and overall the value cannot be complained about. One of the best places we have visited and will return to.

Slow service no one came to see if we were okay with our meal or ask us about dessert or extra drink. No very busy. Onion rings were very greasy and only lukewarm. Burger good but no return visit I'm afraid

Good, small menu and efficient service. Pizza seemed to have a lot of garlic in it. Was surprised there were only scoops of ice cream for dessert at dinner time but they were very good.

Cafe restaurant close to the Marina with views across the bay. Indoor and outdoor seating. Dog friendly. Menu is varied and food is very tasty and woth vegetarian options. Breakfast served from 10 to 11.45. Staff are very friendly. Wheelchair accessible.

Manargeress wasn't happy when we made the complaint. Ordered 2 scones and they gave them to another customer after saying yes there were 2 left. Told we could have 2 pieces chocolate cake and only got 1 and it was dry. Ordered lemon slice instead of our promised scone and it finally arrived after finishing our hot chocolate. Still waiting on a spoon to stir sugar in coffee. Said there were 3 new starts serving and they were busy. This was no excuse to be rude. Will definitely not be back and won't be recommending to friends or family.

Great stop off for a bite to eat and a cuppa after a walk along the beach. Friendly staff and atmosphere, great service, delicious food. A fantastic view of the Findhorn & Culbin if you get a chance of a window seat. Dog friendly too. Definitely worth a visit 😊

Fab place...popped in for a cuppa as it was a little chilly outside and decided to share a plate of loaded fries (garlic, cheese and bacon) and WOW were they amazing! Will definitely be back...next time for a meal 😋

Beautiful views we were so pleased to come across this place it was very windy out and quite cold so we just popped in for a hot drink and slice of cake and they were both very nice,yes I'd 100%recommend The Captains Table .
