Sadly food not good. Not recommended.

Really bad food. Chow mein had no flavour and duck meat was over 50% fat. Will never use again.

I have been ordering from here for a while because it was close to my house but have always been disappointed, they just don't put any love into their food.

DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS TAKEAWAY! What an absolutely vile, disgusting meal. If I could give this takeaway zero stars, I would. I ordered chicken with cashew nuts. I'm sure tge meal had been cooked at least an hour beforehand. ZERO cashew nuts. Cold slimy sauce. Had a smell of diesel exhaust to it. This has left me feeling physically sick and very cross as I was expecting good things.

After having not tried Canton House for quite a while after a poor experience, I thought I'd give then another try. And the food was terrible! Chicken Fried Rice was undercooked and very bland, and had hardly any chicken at all. I think I spotted two peas! Also tried the BBQ Spare Rib - which was not BBQ at all. The ribs were again very bland tasting, but also the sauce wasn't BBQ but plain gravy! Delivery itself was on time, and polite driver, but overall absolutely awful and will definitely not use again. Avoid.

We won't be ordering from here again. Vegetarian spring rolls had chicken inside, chips were undercooked, Vegetable Singapore noodles came without any vegetables, the chicken chow mein was watery... I strongly advise any potential customers to look elsewhere.

Worst take away ever, HK chicken style was awful, gristly chicken and water source. Overpriced. Avoid.

Ordered crispy duck and not crispy but soggy and fatty. Curry had smell to it so couldn't eat it. Really poor quality

Had a takeaway on Saturday 10th Dec 2022. Canton House used to be so good but this meal was awful. Pricey. Half-filled cartons. I had Kung Po chicken, usually crispy in a tasty sauce. This was floating in soy with lots of undercooked onions and the chicken was chewy and slimy. Yuk. Only a couple of cashew nuts.

I am going to take to them 2morrow the disgrace they deliver... It is a pool of fat × 4 with not sure wot is in the grease MESS. VERY VERY LIQUID FAT.. YUK YUK.. Will wrap it up well to avoid spills in HEAVY DUTY BIN LINERS

Ordered through just eat. Never again. So hard to get a refund. Food was stale, the noodles stank as the bamboo shoots were gone off. Was sick the next day. Had to bin most of the order. Used to be good but not now. Won’t be ordering again.

Would give it no stars if I could. Without a doubt the most disappointing and bland Chinese. I used to use this before the current owners and it was fantastic. I thought I would give the new owners a chance and well that was a waste of money. Chow mein had no flavour, the curry tasted of powder and nothing more, loads of onions and substandard meat. Big spring rolls were all batter, oily and no filling. The most impressive and tasty thing here was the free prawn crackers. Do yourself a favour and please avoid here it’s not worth your money.

I phoned in advance so did not have to wait too long when I arrived. The food was really nice and hot but my only complaint was the amount of onions in every dish. Far too many to make the meal enjoyable which was a shame because when we got rid of all the onions it was quite tasty.

ordered a takeaway service, this was my 1st time ordering from this takeaway and im sorry to say it will be my last, to start card machine on arrival did not work,so unprofessional.chicken curry was bland and pretty tasteless, the chicken was so chewy it could not be chewed so ended up in the bin, shop suey a tiny portion of beansprouts again pretty tasteless and once again chewy chicken and was unable to chew it, i ordered chips, can you really go wrong with chips, well here you can, totally dried up and sorry to say again ended up in the bin, the only thing which were edible and fresh were the prawn crackers, so a lot to spend on a bag of prawn crackers. this was so disappointing but the worst Chinese i have ever had .

Excellent food, with plenty of meat & veg rather than just tonnes of onion which we’ve had from other local Chinese take aways. Ready on time, good quality dishes.

The food here is revolting! Not one item we ordered was any good! Chicken satay starter was tough and in a weird brown lumpy tasteless jelly. Spring rolls were just beensprouts in thick greasy batter. After a bite each both of them went in the bin!Lemon prawns were vile! The sauce was like lemon wallpaper paste and the prawns had half their shells on too, then covered in batter. Chicken in black bean tasted like liquorice and was really sweet, yuck! The Singapore fried rice was dry and hard and had no flavour.I have never eaten from a place where every dish was so revolting! Such a shame as this place was great a couple of years ago. I guess the new management are clueless. Doubt they'll be open for much longer. The reviews here are quite right, disgusting and revolting food, I would eat from here if I was paid too!

Used canton house for over 20 years. Gave it a go when it changed hands, hoping it would still be as good. Food was terrible! Ribs were tough, sauce looked and tasted like greasy dish water. Best bit of the meal was the fortune cookies. Devastated to have lost the best takeout ever

First order by recommendation & was very good food! So glad I decided to try this place. Every item I ordered was full bursting with flavour and so well cooked. Even after eating some of the food the next day as left overs the taste was exceptionally delicious.

The food is really good,the chicken balls were perfect, not that greasy and the satay sauce was the best. It’s so difficult to find proper satay sauce and I’ve finally found it! Ridiculous amount of prawn crackers and the prawns were very well cooked and I love their varied menuWill be my Chinese from now on

Sorry but that had to be the worst Chinese food ever. Tasteless, bland, feeling slightly sick now. What a complete waste of £30.the beef chowmein was all stuck together and had no flavour. The pork satay was awful. Totally disappointed with the whole thing. Sorry to be so negative but all I have written is 100% true.

Tried Canton out as I heard from some people that it had improved from what it was first like when ownership changed.Sadly, it was pretty awful. Service was sullen, and the food itself was beyond bland - honestly I have had better pot noodles, and I have never, ever, had a spring roll with such little filling.Cannot recommend on any level - such a pity, as the location is good and the previous owners ran an excellent business.

First visit to this Chinese, it will be our last. We ordered chicken chow mein and a few other dishes I have never tasted anything like it. It was horrible we couldn’t eat it

Hadn't been for a while but chose Canton House recently as was always very nice and relatively healthy. Didn't realise it's changed hands. The noodles were slimey and tasteless and my partner has been ill all weekend after trying the beef chop suey - the beef was like shoe leather and was inedible. We won't be going back.

Noodles were congealed, greasy and mushy. Crispy beef was solid and chicken balls were cold and soggy. Chips and prawn crackers were only nice bit. Mother gave up eating it. Just so sad this place has gone downhill.

Been going in here for years but since the change of management food quality and portions have diminished, it used to get very busy at lunchtime in the cafe but very quiet nowadays

Canton house use to be one of the prides of chandlers ford, with great dishes such as their spare ribs, but a recent change of management its food standards has severely deteriorated along side its customer service.

Regular patrons of Canton House are no doubt aware it has changed hands recently. I I have held off writing a review because the first 2 takeaways were so-so. I wanted to give them the benefit of doubt but that has now evaporated after takeaway number 3.

Absolutely gutted,have used Canton House for years and always said how great the food was,now it is no way near as good,so much so that I will not return there.

We ordered food from here tonight and it was absolutely lovely. The ribs were well seasoned and cooked perfectly, the chow mein was perfect and so were the chicken and the beef. It was just the perfect take-away and we would go back again.

Ordered a curry and egg foo yong. It was tasteless. Great pity because I have had many a tasty meal from them over the years. I think it has new owners who really must improve their offering to retain previously loyal customers such as me

I’ve been coming to this place for the last 7 years, the foods always been fantastic and really tasty,and the man on the front desk always friendly.In my eyes the best Chinese around or it was!

My family & I have been coming here since the mid 70’s and I’ve have just had the worst take away ever...! I know the old owners so i contacted them but they tell me the business is sold. The Chinese curry is full of msg, boiling water with cheap curry powder from Yau brothers. The ribs are fatty & slimy & deep fat fried, the beef with green pepper is again so salty from msg it is not edible. The texture of the beef is “pappie” like the cooked reconstituted frozen Chunks you can buy in bookers / Lidl. I’m not going to say anymore but I’m deeply, deeply saddened as this place was once an institution & the best....

Bit worried when I heard the owners had changed. Ordered chicken curry and egg fried rice and a pancake roll and it all tasted great. Will be back soon.

Noticed there have been a few negetive comments lately. Had a meal this evening, absolutely delicious. I guess the benchmark will be the spare ribs tho as they used to be fantastic.

Been a customer of this establishment for 30 years and did not know the owners had changed, had our first take away last night and it was rubbish. Sweet and sour spare ribs which I always loved turned out to be tiny pieces of ribs with lots of onion, fruit and a sauce so weak it slopped around on my plate. My wife's meal of prawn noodles was dry and lacked taste. Never going back there again and will search for a new venue.

I ate the satay chicken and sweet and sour chicken from here, both were lovely and fresh. First time using this takeaway as was visiting family. Very nice!

Good grub all round but the bbq ribs are epic! Don’t have any. Leave them for meeee! Plenty of other tasty dishes and many old favourites, all done well.

Lovely food and always happy and smiley service. My only complaint is they don't deliver and they only have a 3 for food hygiene. Their spare ribs are meaty and delicious, the large spring rolls are a little bit greasy too.

Same family hands since I was a teenager and Im 48 now. Best chinese for miles and only fault is that they dont deliver.

There is only one word to describe the food at this takeaway WOW it is so popular you could have to wait for up to 2 hrs if you place a phone order but it is worth the wait

Chandlers Ford has an excess of mostly good takeaway restaurants. Indian and Chinese predominate, however having moved here 30 years ago, the finest Chinese takeaway is still The Canton. We ordered a meal there the night we moved in and still go there pretty well every Saturday evening, having tried most other takeaways in the town. Their barbecued spare ribs are a speciality and full of meat instead of just bone. Their selection of normal Chinese meals is very good and although we've tried other establishments we have yet to find a better takeaway. The only downside is that they don't deliver, however the half hour wait is made easy with a pint avross the road in the pub.

We usually have prawn and special curries which are always top notch. Every now and again I will have the spare ribs which are like pork chops as they are so generous. Simon on the front desk is an absolute gentleman, great guy.

We have been ordering from here since we moved to the area and started to do so because of the reviews. Crispy Chilli Beef is amazing and so crispy, the food is lovely and the service is perfect. Never have a complaint.

Personal amable, teléfono está siempre ocupado pero una vez a través del personal son siempre tan alegre y amable. La comida es fantástica y a un gran precio. Hace poco nos hemos mudado a feria de roble pero seguir usando este lugar.

Nunca tuvimos una mala comida de aquí en más de 20 años. Buena relación calidad-precio estupenda comida muy práctico si no quieres cocinar.

We have just moved to the area and found this Chinese just round the corner. Guy behind the counter is great, friendly and helpful. Pub over the road so perfect waiting room!! Food is great, the best chicken curry I've had!

Saw reviews here, thought we'd give it a go, so glad other reviewers had been kind enough to share their comments!The smoked chicken was lovely, good size pieces of chicken with nice flavour too. The chicken satay was perfect, nice little tingle to the taste buds from the sauce with plenty of chicken, onion and pineapple as well. I asked for no peppers and I got what I wanted, fab. Even the rice was delicious.Great food, well worth the wait, about 30 mins when they opened on a Friday evening. Charming and welcoming chap on the counter too, Simon I believe. Thanks for ending the week in such a great way. We'll definitely be back!

I've never given a 5 rating for a takeaway, but this place deserves it. The man out front taking the orders was cheerful and knowledgable about the menu. Ordered the smoked chicken, chicken satay, green pepper chicken with black bean and Singapore fried rice - delicious and flavourful. They were happy to amend the ingredients for a personal preference.The phone hardly stopped in the 15 minutes we were waiting. Unfortunately they don't deliver, but I'm happy to return for such good food. Parking out front and next to a Co-op to buy an accompanying bottle of wine.Definitely going back

We have been using canton house for years and can honestly say the food has been consistently good. They use chicken breast in their chicken dishes unlike some other establishments! Word is getting around about how good they are so there is sometimes a bit of a wait but it's worth it.

After reading reviews we tried canton house and was not disappointed. Been using for ages now always good quality. Allow about an hour if you order by phone as they are always busy due to popularity. We have takeaways close to us but make the drive as its worth it. Food also looks good, never greasy or oily. Smoked chicken is so good! And always friendly service

Have been going to Canton House over the last 3 years since moving to the Chandlers Ford area.The food is flavoursome, delicious and always hot. If it suits your palate can be made spicy!Orders can also be fit with a collection time that suits you. The owner is very friendly and with great customer service is a perfect combination.Canton House is highly recommended!Cheers.

I had my very first Chinese takeaway from Canton House about 16 years ago when I was visiting a friend's house.Since moving to the local area some 3 years ago, it is my go-to place for a cheeky takeaway when the mood allows.The customer service is excellent and the food is delicious. It is also piping hot and well-packaged so that after a 15 minute drive home, it is still hot when plating up.It is the best Chinese takeaway in the Eastleigh/Chandlers Ford area!

First visit here. Excellent food, BBQ ribs excellent, as was king prawn curry & Singapore noodles. Temperature of food really good after 10 minute drive home. Generous portion & feels like good value for money. Will be our regular Chinese take away.

Was in chandlers ford looking to collect a Chinese and Canton House popped up on my search. Spent £36 on a very enjoyable, well presented, well cooked , tasty meal. Staff were friendly and polite. Phone was permanently busy and there were 12 people in shop awaiting orders. Proper nosh. Will be back for sure 10/10

After a recommendation from a friend we tried out the Canton House. We've been back quite a lot since! Food is freshly cooked by the family who own the shop. Vegetables are crisp and textured, meat tender and sauces pretty authentic. The Szechuan sauce visibly contained Szechuan peppers and slices of jalapeño. It was nicely hot rather than the toned down version so many places make. Kung Po is excellent, Sweet and sour prawns in batter to die for and the BBQ ribs are the best I've ever had from a Take Away; Deeply covered in aromatic sauce, fully cooked and meaty. Nothing we've tried from the menu so far has disappointed.Plus- the always cheerful young man at the front who treats all his customers as if they were friends.

If you like Chinese food, then look no further, this place is fantastic!!!!Superb service, gorgeous food, served quickly & professionally, very good prices!I always use this Chinese Restaurant when I visit my parents in Eastleigh, I know their food quite well now, and look forward to eating it each time I go there. Ask anyone who likes chinese food and they will have a favourite resturant/take away,this has been ours for years.it really beats any other one we have been too.Shame it is only a take away,I would love them to have a resturant as well,never mind.If you are ever in the area you will not be disappointed in the food from here.

Great portions, free prawn crackers with large orders, and quick service. Have been going to periodically when in the area for years. Great fried duck with pancakes as well as all the usual offerings. Best call ahead and your order is ready in minutes.

We decided to try Canton House last night as the other Chinese restaurants / takeaways in the area have gone downhill in the past few months. The food was excellent and the portions were large and, unlike a lot of other places, didn't contain loads of vegetables at the expense of the meat. We agree with other reviewers who say that pre ordering is advisable. Will certainly be back.

Used many times. Food and service impeccable. And no additive aftermath next day! Fresh fresh fresh! Not the cheapest for a reason! Quality counts! They get busy so plan ahead. The wait is worth it. And free parking!! And tv! A sparkler!

Loyal customer for years, still go to Canton House despite moving further away because the food is that good and the staff are friendly.Obviously it's busy during peak times so call to book your food.If your order is more than £15 you get free prawn crackers that are the best I have had in Hampshire.

First time at Canton last night in years. I remember it was better but could have been my food choice - beef with veg and chicken chop suey ( plus egg fried rice). It wasn't very tasty and the wait was 25 mins.

We tried a set meal B with beef chow me in and it was such good quality and was a lot of food for two people. The meat, beef and chicken, was superb quality and cannot fault the service we received.

Amazing food, helpful staff and always very very fresh. My personal favourite is the Salt and Pepper chicken.

We've been using Canton House for about 4 years and it's the best Chinese Takeaway we've ever used. It's clean and friendly and the food is superb. I would highly recommend using them.

Have used this chinese for 20 plus years , it really IS the best in Chandlers Ford and probably Hampshire. Food is always piping hot, and cooked to perfection. I love their chow mien and honey roast ribs, all of their rice is lovely, especially the boiled which is never sticky or puddingy. The mini spring rolls are delicious, try the seaweed too !

We used to eat from here all the time when we lived in Chandlers Ford and couldn't fault it. Recently ate here again and it is still excellent. I wish they had such a good takeaway in my local area!

I've been a loyal Canton House customer for as long as I can remember! Since the days Mr Tang was at the helm.. This restaurant has continued to deliver tasty dish after tasty dish! Great Chinese Curry, rice dishes and my personal favourite "Deep Fried Shredded Chilli Chicken" Can't better this!

I used to be a great fan of canton house, but have been sadly disappointed lately with the sweet and sour chicken which is my favourite dish, very weak tasting sauce and flavourless, the last few times it has tasted this way. Lovely boy on reception who is happy to answer any questions, maybe just avoid the sweet and sour chicken!

After enjoying excellent food from this takeaway we now use it regularly & have done for the last two years. Simon, who is front of house, gives a very warm welcome, is patient even when extremely busy & gives an excellent service. The food is the best Chinese we have experienced.

My takeaway of choice after a late finish at work. Best quality Chinese takeaway in chandlers ford, generous portions and great service. Menu more limited than some, but the food is great.

We must have caught them on a bad day but did not rate the crispy duck or chow mein. The place is always packed and you cannot get through on the phone so lots of people do rate this place but we will not be going back...
