Caneat in Birmingham

One of the best breakfasts I’ve ever had! I tried the beans and swapped eggs for sausage, and holy moly, the food was incredible! Just the right amount of chilli and Parmesan, delicious bread, lovely sausage and hash brown. I’m still thinking about it it was soooo yummy. Kudos to the chef of this place, it was a really memorable meal. Thanks!

I had a birthday in my family and we had decided on this cafe for breakfast. We had called to book at table but the declined our offer. We checked online many times to make sure it was open and travelled the hour and a half drive. We arrived and the where not open no notice on the door completely closed. We checked online and it still said it was open. We where very and couldn’t find breakfast it nearly ruined the birthday.

Came for a hungover brekkie, got a lovely table in the sun out the back. Ordered a latte, bacon and sausage sandwich and the kimchi cheese hash browns. All came out in good time and was lovely. Nice twist with the hash browns, defo worth a try!

Returned sooner than expected. Menu had changed since * which is the main factor I agreed to drive there. (they are located by a roundabout that appears very congested) Music level this time excellent * Made it a much more pleasant atmosphere to be able to have a decent conversation. Noting: on both occasions we chose a table at the front where it is much more open, with the kitchen and the traffic noise. Service / front of house staff plenty. * Hot drinks lovely. Food was nice too. * On this occasion, both our different dishes were to have an egg, photo taken when food arrived. My friend had to ask, and a cold boiled egg was plated and brought over a few minutes later after a server checked with the 1 cook. Might have been forgotten, a minor point which imo some responsible staff member SHOULD check before serving it. All in all very good and will continue to visit. For now it’s the brunch place with the cold boiled eggs! Poached eggs are preferred fyi lol

With the resurgence of Stirchley showing little sign of slowing, caneat fits snugly in offering brunches with a twist. The menu is tight and imaginative, and there’s the chance to add your own favourite ingredients. We ordered one dish of the Seven minute eggs, and one of the baked beans, both with the addition of locally sourced Lashfords sausages. Two lattes were the drink choices. Both dishes were substantial, piping hot and served with the best eggs I’ve tasted for a while with perfect yolks. I much enjoyed dipping the home made toast in my eggs and beans. The beans themselves had a nice chilli kick, my wife’s dish had a sauce that packed a punch along with a healthy sprinkle of coriander. The attention to detail is impressive, the food elevated to a high level, and the serving staff worked with a smile. It’s not a cheap choice necessarily, but you absolutely get value with each mouthful.

Enjoyed an amazingly prepared and presented dish of yum * That’s the main thing, for me anyway! Given it was also… reasonably priced * A painless process to sit, order and be efficiently served * Surroundings…modern, minimal and mainly hygienic/clean * Will recommend and possibly return sooner than later 🤞 Other things to note if applicable: Street parking and perhaps the background music masks the traffic/?kitchen noise

Perfect in every way, switched on owners, clean, food incredible and proper tea, had the 7 eggs with bacon, amazingly different, absolutely will be back.

Delicious breakfast, with great atmosphere with friendly staff :) Food cooked in the open in the cafe and everything looked and tasted fresh and homemade.
