Great coffee but close the door when it’s less than 15 degrees outside!

Great atmosphere, lovely coffee & amazing banana bread!

First time been in a while. Had a good brownie and coffee is pretty decent as usual too. Begging for tips left a sour taste on the experience though.

Good hot chocolate with added caramelised marshmallows. Good place to shelter from the rain!

I only had a flat white, a bit disappointed, it wasn’t a nice coffee. The place is really nice though, full of plants and bright, perfect spot for chilling and reading a book.

I ordered espresso macchiato but they gave me espresso which is the base of all espresso based coffees. I’m lucky that they made mistake my order.I found a chance to try their base. It was the best espresso I have ever had. Amazing. My wife tried cortado which is also nice. We ate their millionaire chocolate cake. It was too sweet for us but we know most of european people addict to sugar. Cafe atmosphere is very calm and pleasant. We liked it. They have free wifi and toilets.

Called late one Wednesday. Could be a really buzzing local place, but it felt a little tired when we called in. Lovely staff, friendly and welcoming, but the lights could do with a good clean! It's an interesting route to the toilets, not accessible, very steep steps, but they are clean and smell beautiful.

Super nice shop! The Capuchino was very tasty and I had an outstanding brownie!

It’s got a nice vibe and the service is very friendly. Coffee was nice but not hot enough (for me). It’s rather cosy in the winter (no ventilation/windows steamed up) and which is nice as long as no one has a cold/flu! The place really needs to put an extractor fan in a window to get some ventilation going (would then justify 5 star review).

Excellent espresso and pastries

Have stopped by a few times over the years and always get a great experience. Food is extremely fresh and they have a small menu that they execute well. Staff very friendly as well and happy to help.

Highly recommend this place for a delightful stop to enjoy a cup of coffee and dessert.

Really nice atmosphere and pastries were tasty but my coffee was so disappointing. Not even a hint of froth, basically just a milky coffee. Tasted ok but for a place that prides itself on their coffee and for me who loves a good cappuccino made right was just v disappointing

The place is beautiful, I mean, the colours of the walls, the plants on the ceiling and those around the tables..absolutely stunning! I tried a croissant and a cappuccino and both were really well made! the guys who served me were kind and helpful. recommend it!

The pastries are to die for and the coffee is so strong that it jolts me awake after one sip which is very good! Rarely able to find space to sit inside though, perhaps because it’s so good

Hadn't been here for a while as I wasn't that impressed before but coffee was good, cake lovely, staff friendly and good background music.

We were staying just over the road from this coffee shop, which had been recommended by a friend. I'm so glad we went in for our morning coffee as it was really nice and the cinnamon bun was delicious. Unfortunately I didn't get the name of the person who served us and used to be a tour guide - they gave us loads of helpful tips and recommendations for our weekend in Edinburgh, we pretty much did everything they said on their list. So thank you for the morning coffee and for helping us find other interesting things to see and do in Edinburgh!

Good food, great pastries and nice staff.

Went to St James quarter location. Staff incredibly knowledgable, helpful and passionate. Bought some of the juicy strawberry beans - very funky.

Great atmosphere and location, we also liked the design and comfort. Pain Au Chocolate is a brilliant, crispy outside, soft I side and a lot of chocolate. Coffee is also very nice, however 2 out of three had a stomach discomfort after, might be a coincidence. Toastie bacon is too dry, I should have a accepted the ketchup offer I think 🤔

The flat white we had was very sour, the steaming of the milk was done properly and looked very good but the sour espresso shot ruined the coffee.

3 teas and a coffee, took 15 minutes. Cakes very expensive so chose not to purchase. Will not return

Great coffee place, the sweet treats are so tasty! With my friend we tried different ones and they were very good, fresh and tasty. We enjoyed our time here, the staff was welcoming and friendly. Definitely a good coffee shop in Edinburgh, and very Close to Dean Village.

Wollten nur eine Tasse Kaffee, ich hatte Cappuccino mit Milch, meine Tochter mit Hafermilch. Mein Kaffee hätte gut sein können, wenn er nicht zu stark sauer gewesen wäre. Vielleicht sollte man nicht das in GB übliche Leitungswasser mit Chlor benutzen, sondern natürliches Wasser. Auch das angebotene Trinkwasser schmeckt stark nach Chlor. Wenn man das nicht gewohnt ist, schmeckt es fürchterlich. Der Cappuccino meiner Tochter war ungenießbar, entweder die Verbindung mit Hafermilch, oder die Hafermilch war schlecht. Wurde aber unkompliziert in eine Latte mit Cocosmilch umgetauscht, die war okay, wenn auch etwas zu sauer. Das Personal war jedoch freundlich und hilfsbereit. Ausblick aus den Fenster könnte schön sein, aber im Winter total beschlagen, das Wasser rinnt nur so hinunter. Hat man in GB schon mal etwas von Isolierfenstern gehört? Zugleich Energieverschwendung.

Un café que j’ai visité suite à des recommandations sur les réseaux sociaux. Il est vraiment très mignons et l’ambiance y est très agréable. Nous avons apprécié notre petit déjeuner sur place et le petit pain au chocolat était excellent. Bémol le serveur qui m’a dit chocolatine.

A MUST in Edinburgh. They made my stay in this lovely city even better. Was surprised from the beginning with a long black serving their "scottish brew" which is not common in most cafés due to its particular profile. Way to go!

Cairngorm coffee is nice brunch place in west end. The coffee is exceptional and the staff is super nice despite being a very busy place. The perfect plan is to go on a Sunday with mild weather to sit outside and get a fantastic view of the dome/people watching in the street

Great wee coffee shop. Always busy and very loud. Have used this place for meeting clients and it can be a little difficult to talk without shouting. With friends though it’s not so much of an issue. Coffee is amazing and priced well. Can’t comment on the food but friends say it’s great too.

In for a quick coffee. A few minutes walk from the West End of Princes Street, this was our first visit here. Good coffees and cakes. Service was very good and the prices reasonable. More than adequate amount of seats inside and a few outside, but the weather drove us in. Will be back

Lovely coffee spot, great buzz. Staff were super friendly and helpful with suggesting retail coffee, and up for a chat about it! The batch was great and ended on an espresso based drink which sealed the deal. I wish we could have come back for brunch as the small menu they offer looked great!

After reading some very high reviews of this coffee shop I was actually quite disappointed. I ordered a cappuccino which was smaller than your usual flat white, then charged a small fortune for the privilege. What annoyed me the most was the unfriendly attitude of the staff. Definitely wouldn’t recommend unless you like unfriendly faces and being stung for expensive over hyped coffee.

I just ordered a take-out coffee here and my Americano has left me feeling absolutely amazing!!! There can’t have been much time from the roasting of the beans to the grinding and brewing. Sweet Elixir! I’ll come here again!

Have always enjoyed the coffee here. I love that they offer two choices of single origin for long blacks. It's a busy place but I/we've always managed to find a seat. I don't like to be too critical but have to say that one of the servers is very unfriendly and quite off hand. Perhaps some customer service training would help?

Found this by accident only by noticing the sign from across the street when trying to find breakfast! Obviously popular coffee shop, we got a table by waiting a minute or two for one to become free. Selection of cakes & pastries plus toasted sandwiches, one I'd go back to.

We visited Cairngorm Coffee for breakfast after a positive experience there earlier in the year and were not disappointed. Service was friendly and our drinks were served quickly. My wife and daughter had a Cinnamon Swirl each and reported that they were deliciously fresh. I had to wait a while for my 'Toast Bacon', but it was definitely worth it, although a little messy if you eat it with your fingers like I do. Overall, another positive experience. We'll definitely be back on our next trip to Edinburgh.

Met a friend here for coffee and a chat recently. Pleasant place, not cheap, but before I left I went to the toilet. I was absolutely disgusted by the state of the stairs, corridor, doors and toilet seat. The latter needs replacing urgently and the former hadn’t been cleaned for months (or years). I have checked the Scottish Food Hygiene website and this place was inspected on 31 May 2022 and was rated as requiring improvement. Over four months later, it doesn’t seem like the owners have taken this to heart. The public part of the cafe is clean, but the toilet and the area leading to it are disgusting. I wonder what the kitchen is like? I won’t be going back.

The place looked so cute, the coffee and the sandwich were good. But the staff member who served us was just miserable, not sure if he was hungover or what, but he was rude, short, and not friendly at all.

Great coffee and variation of nice foods. Fresh ingredients and bakery perfect for a nice breakfast to start the day. The staff is super friendly and dedicated. No extra cost for alternative drinks (soya, oat…) like other coffee chains!

Very cute coffee shop with a lot of options for coffee, pastries and sandwiches. I walked to this location as the other one was unexpectedly closed (it was meant to be open according to google, and there were no explanations of the other shop being closed on instagram etc. so it was pretty confusing). Nevertheless it was a lovely walk over. The coffee was nice and flavourful. Guilty Pleasure blend is very strong tasting and is what they use in their espresso and I ended up buying a bag to bring home.

The female server was very rude and unpleasant. It’s honestly not worth the price if you’re going to be treated poorly.

Location was handy, staff polite and cleaned well between customers. Tea was adequate but pain au chocolat a let down - slab of chocolate in very crisp pastry.

The most bizarre experience of any coffee shop. The gentleman going into the coffee shop ahead of us held the door for us and then we went to the counter to get drinks to sit in. However it turned out the gent had taken thr last table but then the server tried to clear him out even though he was first so we told them that he was here before us. Another couple said we could have the end of their massive 6 person table they weren't using but the staff said we couldn't share tables so we would have to wait. That was all fine except they then told us to wait outside in rhe pouring rain even though they had a massive space to the right side of their tills with an L shaped bar table where they could have either put bar stools for us to sit or at least let us stay out the way and still metres from anyone. Absolutely bizarre. Possibly the worst customer service I have ever seen in a coffee shop - I have no idea how they maintain business day to day.

Both the tea and the hot chocolate were tasteless, however the outdoor seating area was nice.
