While the food was beautifully presented and delicious, the service was amazing. After a few tasty cocktails in the bar, we relocated to the restaurant for dinner. We were pleasantly greeted on arrival, before being served some beautifully cooked meals. Maisy was a standout performer, who ensured we all had a marvellous experience.

There are not enough words to describe how wonderful our stay at the Cairn Lodge was! We hosted our wedding dinner here (a group of approx 20), with a few members of the party staying overnight, and received nothing but rave reviews from our guests. The lodge is well situated, with sufficient parking. The building itself is stunning, with a lovely garden area. There is a restaurant, conservatory and bar areas, all of which are immaculate and cozy. The food was pure perfection, with options for everyone. The rooms are clean, spacious and so comfortable. However, it was the staff that made our stay so wonderful! So polite, friendly and organised, we can't thank or praise them enough. Highly recommended location!

Beautiful garden room for lunch, it was pouring but this did not detract from the lovely dining experience, the food was excellent and presentation superb. Staff lovely. I could have just snuggled up and had a comfy little nap after Sunday lunch. Can't wait to visit again.

What a find Cairn Lodge is ! Almost don’t want to put this review up as would like to keep the place as our little secret ! From the moment we arrived we were blown away by the whole experience . We were shown to our beautifully appointed room by the lovely receptionist . Nice touch of fresh milk being offered to us to allow us ti have a cup of tea . Delivered in an insulated bottle . Pre & post Dinner cocktails were outstandingly good & the very friendly & knowledgeable barman explained that a good few of them were indeed, his own creations . Food in the evening was outstandingly good with presentation second to none & breakfast the following morning certainly didn’t disappoint either with a lovely selection on offer all served to us . Nothing was too much trouble .Without exception every member of staff was excellent . Friendly , efficient & welcoming . This place really is a hidden gem . We will be back .

I had a wonderful afternoon tea with family in such a beautiful comfortable setting. The food was amazing, the bubbles flowed and the staff attentive. I highly recommend Cairn Lodge Hotel for afternoon tea, I will definitely be going back! I also asked to see some of the rooms as I was so impressed with the venue and they were stunning you certainly will not be disappointed with this Scottish gem!

We had stayed at this hotel many years ago, and were completely gobsmacked by the improvements the new owner has made. Overall a wonderful relaxing experience. Quality of food surroundings and friendliness of staff exceptional. Just superb! Thank you to the whole team, especially to Eileen on reception, Callum and German gentleman on bar team. All very helpful. We will definitely return.

We celebrated our wedding in Cairn Lodge Hotel recently and it was just perfect in every way possible! The venue was amazing as we had the whole conservatory to ourselves, which was stunning. The staff were very engaging, helpful and lovely, and the food was absolutely delicious. We will definitely be back soon :)

Visited for evening meal on our stay for the distillery tour at the local whiskey maker Tullibardine. Great menu, excellent food, good service, couldn’t fault any course, efficient service with a smile. There was a wedding party in the room next door, but our food and service never suffered even though they were very busy. Would recommend to any one and will visit when I’m back in Scotland Trevor

Food ok. bar cold and soul less noise from behind bar infuriating. Food was good service oh dear!! Hotel is devoid of a leader, staffed by people that clearly hospitality is not there vocation .

We haven eaten here on 3 separate occasions. Menu was varied, food quality is consistently excellent and service also very attentive. I would recommend to anyone. Haven't shared here but the room photographs look impressive after a major parade a couple of years ago.

My wife and I visited this restaurant recently and left feeling very disappointed. The written menu gave a false sense of how good the food might actually be. Some of the food we had just didn't go well together with other items on the plate. The sauces on our main courses just didn't work. The food is over-priced for what it is. Ate here on Sunday 4 th and only sorry we didn’t have time to make a second visit. The restaurant is located in the Garden Room which is very comfortable and inviting. It would be even better in the Spring or Summer. We experienced it on a gloomy early Autumn evening.The welcome was friendly and efficient and the service of the same variety throughout our meal. The menu wasn’t particularly extensive but there’s a payback to that approach when your choices are well executed, ours certainly were and from the comments of other diners, it seemed to be a universal consensus.I wouldn’t want the above comment to suggest there’s a lack of attractive choices, I would be surprised if anyone visiting had a problem selecting but if you were a regular maybe a daily special option might make a welcome change?We had the cured salmon starter. This was a delight, the subtly flavoured fish enhanced by a wasabi and avocado mousse which complemented rather than overpowered which could have been a danger with using wasabi. One of the standout features was the use of cucumber- honest!- cut into fine spirals and tiny balls and very flavoursome. A rare trick.For mains, I had the halibut and my wife a steak. We finished by sharing a raspberry souffle- all delicious.Cairn Lodge is well worth a visit or even two.

You must must must go to this restaurant, the food the setting the atmosphere are all very very special. Last night went for a meal, starters scallops, mains venison and to finish chocolate, and each course was excellent the flavours were amazing. Had meal in the conservatory which was dazzling with the twinkling of fairy lights, and the service was efficient unobtrusive and friendly. Will definitely return again and again and will unreservedly recommend to anyone who asks.

Our second visit to the ‘new’ Cairn Lodge restaurant and once again a top class dinner in a lovely restaurant. It seemed much busier this year, probably a combination of its growing reputation and perhaps more staycations during the pandemic. Not a huge menu but a decent selection of choices which included scallops, venison, halibut and some delicious desserts. The service was very good, there were no long waits between courses and there is a decent wine list. The dining area itself has been thoughtfully designed and works perfectly to give an interesting backdrop. And the seating is elegant and comfortable. Really good all round.

Very nice.Had our meal in the beautiful orangery style conservatory. Service again very good. Meal was very good. Reasonably priced. This hotel is local and really trying. Constructive points:Steak sauce overpriced for the size of the portion.Chef should thoroughly clean his steak pan between steaks. Otherwise certainly recommend visiting.

Booking on linexwas simple. On entering the hotel you can instantly see the high quality decor. A warm welcome at the door, directed to the bar all covid rules in place. Staff were friendly, the dining area in the conservatory was lovely. Food was nice scallops and pigeon to start, steaks as a main and mango pudding g to finish. All tasted delicious and cooked to our taste. Two points of feedback. 1. The £3 charge for the peppercorn sauce given the size of dish was a bit overpriced. 2. The second point is outwith the restaurants control but the behavior and attitude of locals was appalling. One party was really loud and used foul language all to get attention. The second party complained about every dish throughout their meal but ended up saying all in all a lovely meal. Think they were trying to get a discount.We felt for the staff as they were trying so hard and were lovely so locals give them a break.

Started our evening with an aperitif outside our food order was taken before moving through to our table. We had finished our drinks when we were taken through to the restaurant and not offered any more. I had to ask for a wine list and after a few minutes I was told I had to get up and look at a board, by this point our starters arrived which were delicious and I would have loved a good glass of white to accompany the scallops. So we managed to order a glass each for our mains. We also had no water until we asked for some, all the tables around us were given jugs full of tap water while we were given just 2 glasses. The mask-LESS managers (all the junior waiting staff were wearing masks) seemed to only check in with the regulars around us. The surroundings are very nice but overall I think service could be a bit more attentive as the food was faultless.

Had an evening her whist staying at Gleneagles, didn’t really get greeted at the entrance so made way into the bar, the staff here were friendly and engaging. The restaurant has a lovely setting and again waitress was great. I had a steak which was cooked to perfection. Would recommend a meal here to anyone and prices where very good.

Ate here as we stayed at the hotel. Hotel was amazing and the Bar/Restaurant completed the package.Started in the bar where we were greeted by smiling staff who brought our drinks to the table. Good cocktail menu and a fair selection of beers and spirits.Food in the restaurant was excellent and fairly priced for what was on offer. Again, the staff were excellent, bubbly and knowledgeable. The wife requires a Gluten free option and this was provided for. Will definitely be back, well worth a visit.

Went here twice recently, both times exceptional, Christmas menus was terrific, attention to detail superb, spiced bread sauce for example. Second time more of a normal menu but again 6 of us ate and all agreed superb.Staff also very good and attentive. Nice addition in auchterarder.

The hotel and restaurant has been fully refurbished and has a lovely atmosphere. Staff were friendly and pleasant. The rib eye steak of matured beef was prime quality and well cooked. The menu is well thought and balanced. The bar and the bar cocktails are clearly the best in the village of Auchterarder. We will be back for sure.

Visited the Cairn for a Christmas night out with 19 others on Saturday night. The food was excellent the beef was cooked to perfection and the traditional turkey superb, service was second to none and the atmosphere and decor are vastly improved since the revamp. The new bar area is welcoming and again well set out.

Beautifully decorated restaurant, bar and conservatory. The staff were all great. Friendly and attentive but not over bearing, pace of service was perfect. We had the festive menu, can highly recommend both the goats cheese and beetroot starter and the blade of beef main course. Children’s menu was perfect for my daughter and she enjoyed both her melon starter and mini burger main course. The food had clearly been prepared, presented and served with great attention to detail and it was all delicious. We will definitely be back and would highly recommend!

Highly recommend. Love the new decor looks fabulous, very tasteful We had a fabulous meal with ten other friends last night. Nothing was too much trouble, the staff were excellent; attentive without being over-bearing. We enjoyed a really lovely dinner. We also treated ourselves and stayed over and had a luxurious room. All in all a great start to the festive period.

Every step from booking to dinner was superb. The staff professional and every detail sorted. The feel of the place is warm and cosy. The food was fabulous and tasty and they catered for food intolerances. We will all be back!

A truly beautiful lunch in a wonderful location. This place has been recently renovated and oozes contemporary luxury yet with a relaxed and cosy feel. It’s modern, stylish and friendly. I genuinely found this a great place to kick back and relax (the whisky bar is fab). The food was gorgeous and the service was attentive and friendly. Very handy for Gleneagles too.

We were staying at Cairn Lodge and had booked dinner. We were offered one of the turret private dining rooms - a table for 2 and it was so lovely and made the evening even more special. The dinner was excellent and delicious; the service was first class without being intrusive. Local produce is used where possible and each and every course was fresh and full of flavour. We loved it all and recommend it to you without hesitation. It is also modestly priced.

The Cairn Lodge underwent a huge refurbishment last year. The interior is a treat though it was never shoddy. The restaurant set-up has improved with glass windows overlooking the illuminated garden. The food on our Monday evening visit was top notch, beautifully cooked and served. So pleased to see this excellent hotel restaurant on top form.

Now this hotel has been refurbished it was a very nice place to lunch. The Menu for lunch is slightly limited, but I am sure that the Dinner Menu would be more expensive. Certainly a place where one can relax

Stayed 2 nights, quality of bedrooms and bathroom to a very high standard. Breakfast again superb with a quality full Scottish breakfast. Had an evening meal that again was great. Bar area and lounges fitted to the highest quality. All staff were fantastic from start to finish, nothing too much trouble. A great base for a break.

We were in Auchterarder for seven days and ate out each evening. Cairn Lodge was the restaurant we returned to from choice. The service was attentive, the atmosphere relaxing, the furnishing discreet and the food well presented & delicious. In our opinion the steak was the best in Auchterarder.

Staying at Gleneagles we decided to try somewhere different and took the short journey to Cairn Lodge for dinner - we were not disappointed. The new owners have done a great job refurbishing the place, there was a nice atmosphere, the staff attentive, and the menu and drinks offerings where excellent. We had a variety of dishes between the five of us and all the plates where emptied. I had the cheese soufflé and the fish curry - both delicious. Would not hesitate to recommend.

We had pre-dinner cocktails first- a member of our party wanted a sweet drink and it was concocted to her immense satisfaction. Mussels in white wine were extremely tasty, chicken liver parfait was a good balance as it was served with sweet onions. For mains , lamb with couscous deserves rave reviews , and the sweet potato fries with a light batter were unusually crispy which I enjoyed with the light lime mayo dip.

I would highly recommend the restaurant and bar at the Cairn Lodge. The service was amazing, the food was delicious and the decor was beautiful.

This was to celebrate a birthday and a new house purchase. The atmosphere was great and the atrium brilliant.

Went here with family to celbrate my inlaws golden anniversary and it was excellent. The food was very tasty and the staff were very helpful and friendly. I was driving so can't personally say what the wine was like bit everyone else said it was really good. Would definitely recommend and will definitely be back. My only criticism would be as i had the mussels i would have liked a bowl of water to rinse my hands after eating them but apart from that it was excellent.

We lunched with friends recently and enjoyed a superb lunch in a lovely dining room. The chairs were comfortable and we had a great lunch, 3 courses including excellent roast beef & Yorkshire pudding. A good wine list with a range of good wines covering a wide price range. The food was first class and service could not be faulted. The staff were welcoming and friendly. We will return and soon.

We choose the restaurant because it had parking but should have chosen it because the food was spectacular. My wife does not eat much so we shared the cheese souffle starter which was perfect. My wife almost changed her order and had another for her main. Instead she stayed with the mussels; a starter sized portion but they did not get the word in the kitchen so I had plenty. I had the lamb tagine which may have been the best dish of the 3. Truly a great meal.

We had the best meal in Scotland here! The cheese soufflé was meltingly cheese heaven (the chef said put in writing here it is) I could have eaten it all over again. The mussels were perfect plump pieces of delicious. Don’t let this gem go untried. I wish we had more time to return thank you for a wonderful evening!

Family have just moved to Auchterarder and trying out new places with them when we visit will be fun. This was our first one to try, and basically will be happy to go back. Greeted on arrival and shown to nice lounge area for pre dinner drinks. Decent choice and comfortable surroundings. Dining area was large with nice different sections spread out from main building to conservatory. Great choice on menu and all four of us enjoyed our meals from starters to mains. Good wine choice also and friendly helpful staff made it a good night.

After a major refurbishment, a few of our friends and us decided to book dinner, we arrived and were oddly greeted by Jonathan who pointed out that their turning circle at the front of the hotel was too small and our driver would need to reverse, fair enough, but if you’re refurbishing a place isn’t that a bit of an oversight.

I love the décor and style of this hotel and the lovely gardens – especially when the sun is shining. I took my Mother in Law for afternoon tea as a Mother’s Day treat and was not disappointed.The sandwiches were plenty with a variety of fillings – Salmon, Egg, Tuna & Ham. This was followed by scones with jam and cream and then a wide assortment of dainty cakes including Lemon drizzle cake, Raspberry mousse and an assortment of mini macaroons. We had unlimited pots of tea and a great time.

We had lunch at this hotel. The decor is very modern and not really my taste but very well done. The lunch was for a group of about 30 friends. We had soup and a very nice range of sandwiches, staff helpful and all in all a very pleasant experience.

So came in with my family for a lovely drink were I was greeted with 100 white chairs, elephant tusk light and no staff!!!! We felt like a in convince from the start and maybe getting a supply of mint for the cocktails you offer might be a good start! I will not be back as the toilet sink has soaked my trousers. Extremely rude staff and would recommend them to have some winter training ready for the summer season. Thanks but no thanks!

A first rate experience from the moment you walk through the door. Superb service. Nothing is too much trouble and the staff, Tom, Lionel and Jen were first rate. We ate at Gleneagles the night before and the meal was even better than there. Not that the meal at Gleneagles wasn't good; it was excellent. The Cairn however was fantastic. Every course. Just superb. Would recommend highly.

Ate here during our stay. We shared the bruschetta then I had the fish and chips and my other have had the turkey. That was all great, decent portions and tasty. The puddings were also very filling too. Great night.

My wife and I have just moved to the local area and thought we would try the restaurant as the menu online looked wonderful. And it was. The restaurant itself, the staff and the food were all exceptional and can't fault anything.... until we asked for the bill.The lovely waitress brought our bill over and I popped my card on top of it awaiting either the card machine or instructions on how to pay. It never came. We waited for 25 minutes but all the staff had appeared to have finished! We wandered up to reception to be told all the waiting staff finished at 10. We would still be sitting there now if we hadn't of asked.I know it's only a minor quibble but it really did disappoint us. We WILL be back but we'll be away before 10pm. Just like the staff.

Staying at Glenmor, we ventured out for an evening.... Accepting that it was mid week in November, the restaurant was very quiet, only 3 tables, the service should have been slicker, spilling the wine, forgetting part of the main course, being the main two items.Food was very tasty, although lacking in variety for our vegetarian in the party.

We dined at this lovely restaurant early evening , The food was beautifully presented and full of flavour, with good size portions. The staff were very pleasant and attentive. The dining room is very fresh in its black and white theme, though not my favourite decor. The only negative was it was a little draughty sitting next to the window , was thankful for the heater close by. I'm sure it would be a lovely place to stay.

This Hotel was soooo much better than I expected. The Check In was very Friendly and Efficient. . . The Staff were all very good - couldn't do enough for me. We met our friends - Had Drinks and a Meal. Food was very good and the Wine / Drinks were very Reasonably Priced. All Furniture and Accessories were really good quality and the Bed was Amazing - Although the Room Lighting was a little dark at the Dressing Table , which my Wife also thought needed a Mirror for doing Make Up. Breakfast was Excellent and served on a Hot Plate - which pleased my Wife very much (She's always commenting on Hot / Cold Plates).Overall this Hotel Exceeded my Expectations and I would definitely stay there again. We had a lovely night in the hotel. The staff were friendly and very welcoming. There rooms are of a very high standard and very comfortable and glamorous. We had a really tasty breakfast in the morning before we left. It's a lovely small friendly hotel with lots of character.

My family and I popped in for an early dinner midweek without reservation and were able to get a table without issue. The welcome was warm and inviting and the decor modern We chose from a broad menus of Scottish dishes and were delighted with both the quality of the food, the reasonable price and the excellent service which could not be faulted. The setting is beautiful with nice high back arm chair. The menu is varied and so is the wine list. Plenty of parking spaces and the service is good and attentive. At times you have to book in advance for dinner as the place can get filled up quite quickly.

Enjoyed three dinners and breakfast here. All were delicious and v well presented. Our steaks and venison dish are to be highly recommended and Chef will also delight you with his desserts: wow !! Try the Baked Alaska! The service was relaxed and attentive. There were several other tables dining and everyone was being looked after. Drinks are reasonably priced too. Only improvement may be to add the local Strathearn Gin and Whisky to those available in their bar.We couldn't do their cooked breakfast justice on our third morning, as we had enjoyed such fabulous dinners We'll be back

Fabulous table d'hote lunch. Faultless from start to finish! The friendly, personal service from Lionel was outstanding, merci bien! Can't wait to go back.

The place is falling to pieces (large decorative mirror badly cracked, sinks in toilets not properly affixed to the wall/floor, hand dryers out of order, no-one clearing empty tables), restaurant was empty, chicken was raw. Took a long time to remedy. Waitress apologised, manager did not. They took our drinks off the bill (2 diet cokes) - didn't quite cut it. Definitely wouldn't go back.

I have to say that normally when you return to a hotel that you have previously stayed you become more critical. You notice things you haven't noticed before. Having read previous reviews these are my observations.We were me by an extremely friendly manager called Tom. He made us feel extremely welcome and valued. We were shown to our rooms which were fresh and tastefully decorated. They were spacious. Our room was very warm but we were given a fan as the hotel was full.Our dinner was delightful. Very high quality and we'll presented. Our waitress was called Hazel and she really went the extra mile to ensure we enjoyed our meal and we'll catered for.On the whole another great quiet break, with fantastic food. The only negative thing was the bar was set up for a private dining at was out of commission.

While visiting Gleneagles for the weekend we decided to pop into the Cairn for a drink and something to eat. Already knew it was up for sale, but having previously stayed at the sister hotel in Stirling (Colessio) which was Fab we thought the Cairn would be of similar standard. How wrong we're we!First impressions were the the hotel was empty. No atmosphere whatsoever? Damp smell in the bar and entrance. After our lunch my wife ordered a Latte which, when she received this (eventually) was Luke warm. She had asked for extra warm?! The waiter apologised and took it away, but another 10-15 mins later came back with another. Still Luke warm?! Told the waiter, but couldn't be bothered waiting on another so decided to leave this and ask for the bill. Another drawn out wait. (remember the hotel only had another 2 people having a meal) When the bill came they still charged us for the Latte which hadn't been touched? When challenged, the waiter said "oh do you not want to pay for that" ?!! What do you think? Really poor service all round, so hopefully new owners can bring it back on a par with Colessio?

we had a fantastic meal here - we were jet lagged and walked to the restaurant from Gleneagles and we loved our meal. Food was delicious, waiter was helpful and enthusiastic - great experience highly recommend.

Excellent meal, great service and amazing value for money with 2 course lunch served for £12.95pp. We were given a voucher by our son which included lunch for two and two glass of prosecco for £33….doesn't get much better than that. The food was high quality, great ambience in the restaurant and excellent service

The table was booked, and very nicely laid out. The staff and service were exemplary. The price was expensive but expected. The food was lovely, although I wont have the Venison again, not quite cooked enough, the staff were very attentive ensuring everything was okay. Not catered for disabled as had to climb steps. A ramp would be a good idea.

We all really enjoy visiting this place, the food is consistently good and service etc very good. Pity this time that a couple of standard dishes not on the menu particularly as we didn't find out until after we had ordered but it's worth a visit.

We chose to eat here based on trip advisor ratings and we are glad we did. We were greeted at reception and taken through to the restaurant which was lavishly decorated but comfortable. The staff were attentive and professional. The food was lovely and well presented. I loved the mini saucepans and jars for the sauces! The portion sizes were good and we could only manage one course each!

We booked this at the last minute and was not disappointed.Even though it was getting late we were not rushed other than to choose our desert before the chef left, which was understandable.Would definitely visit again if up in that area

Had lunch here and breakfast the next morning. For lunch the starter was good and the glass of wine we got was drinkable and a fair price. The main though - a burger - was dry - overcooked I think - and needed more relish actually on the bun - there was a side but it was not the same as part of the actual dish. The breakfast in the morning was O.K. - cooked to order which is better than a buffet but the bacon was poor and we were not offered toast. Surprisingly these days they did not carry skimmed milk.

Absolutely stunning food..particular favourites being the venison with cassis and Juniper jus which was sublime and the bounty-ful dessert was so delicate yet flavourful..absolutely beautiful.

Chef has a great understanding of food and taste. Everything from breakfast thrift to starters, mains and deserts were outstanding !!Fine dining and relaxing atmosphere.
