Nice little cafe with very friendly staff. In the centre of Llanberis, wasn’t to busy so the service was quick. Personally I think it was expensive, £5.95 for scrambled egg on toast otherwise it’s fine.

Friendly staff ,nice simple food BUT a very very long wait even if you are the only customer ! A simple pie and salad are about £8 and this is a cafe not a restaurant. Toilet directly off kitchen and has fabric hand towel which I am sure breaks all hygiene rules especially as used by staff too ! Food was tasty and staff lovely but hygiene, expense for what you get and extremely slow service means I wouldn't return sadly. No ice for drinks or napkins by the way

We called in for hot drinks and cake as a first visit to this cafe. We ordered two hot chocolate drinks and two cakes off the counter. The drinks tooks over 15 minutes to arrive, even though we were the only people being served, it was quiet and two staff were available. It seemed they were heating the milk very slowly in a pan on the hob, which may be nice to do it that way, but they really need to get a microwave to speed things up a lot. A good job we weren't in a rush, as we would have been a little annoyed at the wait otherwise and were very thirsty! The staff were very friendly and the cakes obviously home made, though not that great taste really. It would be nice to say better things about this place, and we may give it a try another time for lunch, as their salads looked good. Nice to see a mostly veggie/vegan cafe trying to compete with the other ones in the village.

The quality of the food was, however worth the wait and the staff were friendly and apologetic. The food is delicious and obviously home cooked and fresh. The dishes feel wholesome and far less stodgy than Pete's Eats which is ideal for a pre climb lunch but i would be reluctant to go there again if time pressed. Lucky to find this place as Llanberis is full of your standard tea room/cafe affairs with token veggie options. First impressions were a very relaxing informal place but don't let that fool you, the staff are very attentive and even gave my daughter a slice of their melon when she spotted it in the fridge. I had a vegan mixed bean and chestnut pastie with a large Salad. The pastie was delicious and the 3 different types of salad barely fitted on the plate. They do cater for meat eaters and my daughter had a free range Ham sandwich which she said was lovely. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area and want excellent generous food in a more relaxed atmosphere.

It's a small cafe that provided me with a plate of the most amazing flavours! I mean reeeaaallly tasty. And there's the problem, I like to give praise where it is truly deserved, but of course if everybody finds out how good this place is it'll get too busy :-)Many thanks for being a place where truly tasty homemade food can be served at a very reasonable price and with a smile. Service was pleasant, calm and...well...looked effortless. You have now set the bar to which I will measure others. Sadly most places fall well short of where you are, so feel proud. Wow dont really know where to start. But here goes,You enter and imediately staff welcome you warmly. Then i come to my first problem choosing what to have ,ordering a tea was easy rest not quite so.I looked into the cool cabinet and see these bowls of salad and diffrent pasties etc.and so fresh ,Lady said just come out of oven looked over to oven it is smaller than the one i have at home.( Talk about mass production) Ordered tea ,(couldnt belive it but they filter the water) a soup ,vegie pastie and salad which arived in due course. Dont expect fast food This is food that is literaly prepared and made in front of you they dont eaven posess a microwave..Waiting was no problem as there were plenty of interesting people to talk to.. So my dog and i just settled in and enjoyed the aroma and conversation, Soup (veg and homemade) was brought to my table and well never tasted soup like it. It was so thick i think most other caff would have added extra water and made two servings out of it.Then the salad arived i took one look at it and wished i had not had the soup. It looked absolutely fantastic and i really did not know where to start and then first taste wow incredible what flavours and the pastie. I am not a vegie and was a bit concerned about ordering a veg pastie but i was so pleased that i had everything was so fresh tasting and i never thought s salad could be this tasty, mine at home deffinately are not. After walking all day, and returning to Llanberis around 1700, and in dire need of some food and tea, most other outlets were closed, so we found this place. Was very welcoming, and attentive, as were the other customers in there. we were talked through the menu, and opted for some baguettes and hot drinks. The baguettes were made fresh, sausage roll was home made and amazing, and the portion sizes were bigger than expected. The server had a good knowledge of what is vegetarian (unlike another restaurant not too far away who considered sea bass, to be vegetarian (like fish grows on trees ?).we were stuffed by the baguettes, so had to take away our home made cakes which we also bought. this wasn't any trouble what's so ever, The chocolate brownie was perfect, and my other half is nagging me to take her back for more ginger stem cake, and she really wants to try the vegan pie which looked and smelled awesome when it was served to another guest.

We were told there were no pasties ready, but that they could be done in 15 minutes which seemed a reasonable wait. Alarm bells started ringing when the pasty hadn't even gone into the oven after 15 minutes. Eventually it was closer to 45 minutes which was just too slow. I have lived in this locality for 32 years but never been in. I went in today and now find myself asking why not? This little cafe is an absolute gem serving lovey homemade wholefood. If you want sticky tables and a greasy fry up this is probably not the place for you.If you want a good choice of quality food served in a clean, comfortable establishment with some great whiffs of fresh coffee and very friendly staff, then this is your place, I was not disappointed.I turned up with my 2.5 year old son, it is very often so difficult to find somewhere nice that is so child friendly, not only were we greeted by the friendly staff I was told about the boxes of toys discreetly stored neatly away. The child's food and drinks were served up by the ladies who are obviously child savvy as the plates and cups were unbreakable not like most places that serve up on breakables so you spend the whole meal worrying in case your child breaks something. All that said this is also the type of place you could go alone, as a couple or just with friends. Their prices are more than reasonable especially for the quality of the food.10 out of 10 and I shall certainly be visiting again soon.Well done Ladies.

My goats cheese pannni was actually french bread but full, hot and with the extras of relish and onion that were offered. The kids were happy with sausage rolls that were cooked to order and hot chocolate. All followed by homemade biscuits. It was a pleasant hour, we were warm, full and relaxed. And with a bill less than £20 for 5........well, that was a bonus too!

I went in here because it was raining (surprise!) and it welcomed my dog Poppy. I was looking for a bacon butty, but they are not on the menu. However, there was a delicious smell coming from the kitchen which was the fresh batch of spicy lentil soup. Lentil soup is not really my thing, but it smelt so good I had to try it. It was absolutely delicious, I am a convert! The cafe sells mostly vegan and vegetarian food but does do some meat items for the carnivores. The meat is organic and ethically sourced where possible.I tried the vegan brazil nut chocolate - I was bowled over!I went back the following day to pick up a chicken and mushroom pasty with salad to take away. The pastry was thin, but had remained crispy. The chicken tasted properly of chicken and the the mushrooms were fresh and tasty. The salad had so many things in it, it was amazing and I really enjoyed it.I have to confess that I still do not like Radio 6!

Looking for lunch after a long walk and popped in because of the 'dogs welcome' sign. Lovely warm cafe with an amazing smell coming from the kitchen. All six of us enjoyed the food. The home made vegtable samosa's were delicious and we even took some home with us. Side salad was amazing! Great little cafe with a great little atmosphere.

After having enjoyed getting sandwiches from here during my last visit to Llanberis 2 years ago,I decided that this time I would take a friend along to try a meal at the place.Entering Caffi Sam,I instantly felt a warm, delightfully quirky atmosphere in the Caffi, with the walls being covered in fantastic photos displaying the wonderful natural scenery. With having just finished a 2 and a half drive to Llanberis,I was very happy to spot a chicken & lentil pie that had just been freshly made! Deciding to go for the pie,we both also decided to go for a freshly made buckwheat salad.Whilst my friend decided to go for a glass of water,I decided to try out a freshly made smoothie. The meal:Trying the smoothie first, (which came in a large glass)I found it to be an excellent, refreshing drink, that had a very good hazelnut & chocolate taste.Being served by 2 fantastic staff members who answered any questions in an enthusiastic manner,we were both left speechless, when we got served with 2 plates jam-packed with food. The pie had a perfectly made crust, with the filling being stuffed with pieces of chicken. With neither of us having tried buckwheat before,we both found it to be one of the best salads that we have had!!,with the full, crispy ingredients of the salad being miles away from the "traditional" lattice & tomato.Final view:A fantastic place, with welcoming, knowledgeable staff serving wonderful, home made food at a place that I can't wait to return to!!

we discovered Sam's earlier this year and have been probably 50 time or more. It's by far the friendliest cafe we've ever been to. Yes it is like being in someone's front room but that's why we love it. They allow and welcome dogs, the owners are not afraid to make you wait whilst they make your food fresh....its clean, it's small, it's not contrived .....they genuinely welcome your custom. Organic food locally produced and even better they play Radio 6 live with real music.....if you want fast food then go to MacDonalds...............I don't want to share my little secret cafe with you ....... Awesome, quirky, but passionate about good food....10 out of 10 for being what you are DON'T CHANGE the way you are

The food was a great change for something healthier and more interesting, very friendly staff and good price! The only thing is it felt like we were in someone's front room whilst the neighbours with the dog popped round, then the boyfriend of someone popped in for a social whilst the dog was running around!

If this place was in the USA it'd be on Diners Drive-ins & Dives. Friendly staff and amazing salads and rather than bad espresso-based coffee they serve fresh french-press. Only improvement would be better bread than baguette for the sandwiches. Service isn't fast but all fresh and made right on front of your eyes.

We entered the place which was a mess, they said they were busy but only 2 tables were taken. We only ordered hot drinks and cakes and we waited over half an hour for it. The cakes were tiny, they were man handled and not put on a plate via tongs which was off putting, the tea was just warmed milk and the coffee was rank. The service was poor, not a smile was on offer and the music choice of radio 6 was killing us off slowly. Avoid avoid avoid and go to Pete's eats

Needed to get rain pants in Llanberis (rain - shocking I know) and having no expectations, stopped at Caffi Sam based on the suggestion from the Outdoor shop. We were very glad we ate here! Excellent fresh organic salads - and interesting to boot (not just greens). Portion sizes were huge - gigantic platefuls of food!It wasn't pronto, but it was made from scratch not pulled out from a cooler.Great photographs too in the café - we actually bought one showing the quintessential sheep and house trailer scene of Wales.

Food is amazing, atmosphere is relaxed, and the owner Sam clearly knows how to look after customers by delivering quality food that will surprise everyone. This little cafe rivals the best restaurants for flavour and taste. We had salad and Caribbean pasties which were followed by home made brownie. All ingredients sourced locally and organically and it shows, our meals were full of fresh vegetables and salad with huge flavour followed by awesome desert.Only regret is not having time for another meal here!

When food eventually arrives it is very good and reasonably priced. The staff are lovely and friendly which brought me back a second time but the service is ridiculously slow.My first experience was an order of coffee and home-baked pie. The coffee arrived after fifteen minutes, and the cold slice of pie arrived after a further 30 to 40. I wouldn't have minded but we were the only two people waiting to be served and I cannot imagine what took so long.Thinking this must have been a bad day for them and having enjoyed the food I decided to give the cafe a second chance. The food order was placed, fifteen minutes passed before I was told a key ingredient was not in stock and I would have to change my order. A further forty five minutes passed before I received a very tasty panini. It is a shame but I shall not be going back.

Best little cafe in Llanberis by far. This one serves proper food, locally sourced and handmade with care on the premises by the lovely staff behind the counter. It goes to prove that healthy and nutritious needn't be boring and bland. Forget the others serving the same generic boring food and do yourself a favour and get down to Caffi Sam. The ladies behind the counter and absolutely delightful too. Very helpful and friendly. Really, really recommended.

I visit Caffi Sam on a regular basis and have always enjoyed the meals or snacks. It's great place to relax and just unwind. Everything is made fresh to order and the menu has a great choice. My current favourite is the vegetable samosa. Sam's home made brownies are also to die for!!

We arrived in Llanberis in time for lunch on a busy Saturday. Caffi Sam had been recommended to us and we were not disappointed. For a small cafe it has plenty of choice on the menu. The Caribbean Curry Lamb Pasties, that we chose, were fresh from the oven and the sweet potato and apple salad was just being dressed. In addition we had the broccoli and cauliflower pesto salad. There was a good selection of organic soft drinks and teas. As we enjoyed our main course, we admired the fine selection of cakes and biscuits, we both weakened and had a sweet treat to follow, also choosing a couple of items to take home. While we were there, it was obvious that the cafe has a good base of regular customers who were welcomed by name. New customers were greeted warmly. The activity behind the counter was constant as more pasties were prepared and baked, salads made to replace depleted bowls and panini made to order. All the food was beautifully fresh and the salads imaginative and tasty. We will definitely be back.

Visiting north wales from Cornwall I was suffering pasty withdrawal symptoms, before being pointed in the direction of Caffi Sam. Ok, need I say more than I had pasties two days in a row? When a Cornish girl orders a repeat pasty, you KNOW it's good! And, accompanied by a mixed salad with some interesting and flavoursome coleslaw It was a much healthier and tastier option than the fish and chips or the fry ups on offer in neighbouring establishments! As for ambience? Relaxed, friendly and chilled out, with room for a well behaved companion dog to join me after our snowdonia hikes.. We will most definitely be back! Thank you Caffy Sam, for great tea, pasty, company, sympathy and brownie! Xxx

We went at a Sunday lunch time and were VERY pleasantly surprised. Excellent quality and made fresh to order. This is not microwave reheated, deep fat fried or fast food establishment. Instead it's quality home made, organic food. We had home made soup and two different pasties which I have to say are the best I have ever tasted, and had cakes to go. The quality of the caffietiere coffee and tea were also spot on. We watched life go by and had a lovely, relaxed meal. Just the thing to set you up to walk and admire the stunning scenery. We'll definitely return on our next visit!
