Great views, great place, great staff!

Good place for drinks but beware if it's even slightly busy you can be waiting 20 mins for a cocktail to be made. Lots of space and can sit outside. Quite expensive for the area.

Disgusting customer service from management, would never return!

*DO NOT HIRE The Beacon Lounge REDCAR FOR FUNCTIONS* I paid a £100 “refundable” deposit which has been withheld from me - even after explaining my situation as a new mother with minimum income. Their reasoning for this is that my party was “abusive” towards staff, which for anyone who knows my friends and family will know this would never be the case. The issue was that at 11pm, my “private function” was made open to the public due to many of my guests going home. This would have been fine, even though it wasn’t explained to me first. I was told I would have the room to myself from 6pm-12am, providing I had 35 guests for “majority of the night”, which I did. However, a young group of girls and boys came into my room at 11pm and began to physically fight with one another, screaming and swearing disruptively. I kindly asked a member of staff to ask them to leave the room which they did and I thanked them for. I have explained this to the manager at The Beacon repeatedly and apologised if they believed that any of my party were abusive but again emphasised that this did not occur from any of my guests. All I was informed of before booking my party was that “the deposit is returned from the next day as long as all has gone accordingly along with the number of guests being the majority attending, no damage etc” (as you can see in my message below). I and my family members have had multiple phone calls and face to face conversations with the management explaining the issues to try and resolve this and in return have been treated disgustingly and told that my deposit will NOT be getting returned. I am absolutely gutted that my 30th birthday, that I enjoyed so much, has now been tainted - especially after my guests were actually helping the staff clear plates of food, and thanked them multiple times for their customer service on the night. DO NOT use the beacon lounge Redcar for your functions!

Excellent cocktails and atmosphere

This is one of the most aesthetically pleasing bars of the area. It's classy, with great views, and ideal for a date, celebration, or drinks with friends. The stone baked pizzas are to die for. Staff are friendly and well presented. It's worth a visit

Great lunch with the family, staff were really helpful and fab location and views from the restaurant. Enjoyed some delicious pizzas and a couple of drinks. Will definitely visit again.

Needs more work trying to do something different but is a little off when it comes to food service Vs price. But great venue it's one of those places that if it looked at its menu and went for better food at the same price they deffo would be on to a winner.

Great sheltered position right on the sea front, semi exotic feel due to its palm trees. Calm and relaxing with lovely, friendly service from the two young chaps serving. Had a very tasty cheese and tomato toastie, even though they gave me a mis-order and added poor ole piggies into the mix. They redid me my toastie as originally ordered and without pigwigs. There is also an old tram on the premises serving fish and chips. Indoor seating. Very small loo. It is a shame that when I visited, the Beacon was still closed, but this café stop was very pleasant and I would call again.

Nice relaxed atmosphere, good selection of beverages

First visit with a walking group 9 of us altogether. Lovely inside clean and looks nice. Some of the tables should be a little further apart but seating area inside and out really nice. Ordering tea coffee was little slow but young man was lovely. Toastie ordered by some they said was delicious and the food we saw coming out of kitchen looked fantastic. My only criticism which is why 4 stars is the young girl was putting crisps from a large bag on plates for orders she wore no gloves and had sink behind her but she not used it. Gloves need to be worn please !!

Would give it 5 stars if the bar service was better, we waited at an outside table 20 mins before our 2 drinks were served, the table behind waited the same, lovely fish n chips just shame about the service

Good place to stop for a rest from the rain. Cheap tea and coffee! Love the views, the light and airy interior, clean tables and chairs, decor incl' small trees... I will go back for a cocktail on a sunny day. Food is available but I fidnt eat there on this occasion. Attentive staff too

We love The Beacon Lounge. It must be the best placed eatery and bar in Redcar with great seafront views. They now bake Pizzas on the premises and in better weather the Fish and Chips wagon is also open. Good drink selection including great value hot drinks. What's not to love!

The beacon may not be the icon we asked for us Redca' lot 😉. But the lounge definitely counters its negative press. Lovely atmosphere, drinks not badly priced. A large coke was 2.70 which is reasonable. Definitely recommend it as a quick drink before hitting up the arcades!

Great view. Nice decor. Good staff. Disappointing breakfast. Order avocado on sourdough with a poached eggs. Got guacamole (shop bought and not very nice at that) on plain white bread. When I consumed they changed my order to scrambled eggs and were very apologetic but didn't offer a drink whilst I wait or for my trouble. Won't be eating there again. This is the second time this has happened. The exact same thing happened a year previously. So the excuse that the menu is changing won't wash. İt's a lovely place but could be much better with a bit of effort.

Lovely views and a nice place to spend a few hours on a cold autumnal day. Only had coffee and a tea cake but both very good. Service was a bit slow but not too bad.

Very friendly staff, if a bit slow at busy times. Lovely location, views of the ocean, beach and esplanade, can be a little windy at times. We enjoyed fish and chips cooked to order from the side stall on the outside decking.

We called in the Beacon lounge bar one hot Saturday afternoon and really enjoyed it .We found a table inside the bar although there was plenty of seating outside and then ordered our drinks at the bar.The barmen were smart and tidy and actually wore black ties,nice to see and the service was quick.The hardworking waitress bought our coffees over and you could see she was loving the job.There was some food being cooked and also a mobile fish shop outside,Its in an ideal position right on the prom under the vertical pier.You can't miss it.We Would definitely call again.

One of the friendliest welcomes ever, a stunning location and good food.

Let's start with the good stuff - the lounge had a great atmosphere and really good music. The bar staff were lovely, and the view is absolutely incredible. It was clean, well-decorated and a very chill atmosphere. It's just unfortunate that the food was absolutely disgusting. The chicken wings were overseasoned, the meat was of poor quality, and they were totally burnt. They were completely inedible, so so spicy with no other flavours to balance them out. Even the cheese sauce couldn't save them and I'm a firm believer in "anything is better with cheese". Unfortunately that doesn't extend to cheese that's been microwaved. The loaded fries were a complete mess, the melted cheese had solidified in the microwave so it was just a large lump of once-melted cheese, dumped in a messy bowl of condiments, resting on a handful of soggy school canteen potato skins. The pork buns were actually alright, it's just unfortunate that I paid £4 for 6x1cm cubes of pork, two steamed buns and about three salad leaves. The menu lacked variety. The actual physical menu was almost impossible to read because of that teeny weeny hipster font. The teenager who brought our food from the kitchen had only "did you order this?" to say and gave us no cutlery. I don't know how you'd eat what was essentially a bowl of salsa, solidified cheese, guacamole and sour cream with your hands but I guess he wanted us to give it a go. It was a big swing and a miss for me - lots of potential, but let down by the food. The price point was pretty ambitious for the quality of food we received. It was such a shame really, I wasn't expecting that we'd get Michelin-starred food, but for such a well-decorated restaurant with a nice aesthetic in a great location, I expected something more impressive.

My wife and I called in today, the 16th of June, for a coffee and hopefully a bacon sandwich after a long walk on the beach.We've been in here before and had good service and nice food so it was really disappointing to be totally ignored by everyone. One young man was busy making coffees, although the time he took I think the customers must have died of thirst!The person who I'd expected to serve me, a blonde girl about 18, busied herself with rearranging tables, tidying round and studiously avoiding eye contact when she was in front of me.The kitchen staff were obviously, in the kitchen and I stood there for 7 minutes without any attempt to engage me, apologise for the delay or in any way make me feel welcome, the impression I got was that they wanted me to go away and not bother them.When I eventually interrupted the young man and asked when they closed he said at 12:30, (we walked in at 10 to 12).I'd hoped for a bacon butty after my walk but that wasn't going to happen,(they'd closed the kitchen 20 minutes before I came in.)Thankfully a lovely young lady at Subway on the high street put them to shame with her bright helpful attitude.I've always made a point of using local businesses rather than chains but on this occasion, Subway rocks!

The manager doesn't watch the bar, serves all the young pretty girls and ignores us older girls. Place not to my taste at all. Expensive and find manager quite rude.

Tuesday is steak night 2 meals and a bottle of wine £25 excellent value and ours was cooked to perfection (rare) plus try there Tapas menu good choice at a fair price

Nice place for coffees and food

I always give this place five stars. I've been so many times and they've never failed to deliver. The only downside is theres more stools than chairs so if the tables along the entrance are full and you're disabled or elderly, then you have no chance. But the staff are wonderful, the food is delicious,and the price isn't half bad!

Love this cocktail lounge! Excellent atmosphere, great for a summer outdoor vibe, and lovely inside too! Oh and a new first floor addition is also opening up. Highly recommend it. Ps great food too! I had an halloumi burger! Yum. Oh and the sweet potato chips (as an option) are probably the best I've ever tasted :)
