Here on holiday and came across this beautiful cafe ! Lovely friendly staff made us very welcome and lovely atmosphere! The food is excellent and very reasonable priced. Would definitely reccomend and be visiting again.

The ambiance of the cafe is amazing- decor is on point! The staff are extremely friendly and the food is literally off the chain good! We loved our experience there and can’t wait to go back when we return to beautiful Northumberland!

Nice venue, friendly staff but pretty mediocre food I'm afraid.

3 of us ordered tea, what we were given were tiny (and I mean tiny) tea pots that wouldn't pour & tea poured on saucer and 1/2 in the tiny cup. A tiny bit of milk to accompany. We thought it was a joke but NO, this is what you get. Then ordered 2 scones & it came with cheap jam than looks like a coloured sort of jelly. I think you can buy about 48 of these individual jams in the likes of B & M stores for about £1.99. The scones had been warmed in their microwave which only makes them doughy & soft, accompanied with 2 X tiny butters. Add the 3rd order of 2 poached eggs on toast and the bill was almost £26 for 3 teas, 2 scones & 1 X poached eggs. Suggest; give a decent size pot of tea in pots that pour properly, don't serve cheap nasty jam, Go and visit other venues and learn how to serve a decent tea & scones. This was not a good experience and we will not be back.

Visited here for coffee and cake recently; was looking at the cakes then you could see where they stored the cakes and the wrapper on the loaf cakes had deluxe on them which means they are bought from Lidl!! Not sure id expect that from a cafe as could just go to Lidl and buy the same thing! They also had this apple cake thing which was also in a box from another local supermarket! I don’t know any other cafes around here that get shop bought cakes in, sorry

Cafe vault been taken over very limited menu next to no vegan options and coffee not as nice as it used to be.. shame maybe just teething problems didn’t enjoy breakfast just not the same as it used to be 😞

What a great place to stop for a drink and or a meal. Very tasty food, friendly staff and a very interesting cafe with lots of history. Clever decor inside, plus you can even have a table in the old bank vault.

Good food at a great price. The daily specials look and taste good. He staff are friendly. I'll definitely recommend and will go again.

Sorry over price £11.50 for breakfast english & tea. Ultamitely i bacon 1 egg 1 sausage the rest cheap stuff tinned toms, beans , mushrrom, hash browns only 1 slice os toast. Not quality either and tinned tomatoes cold. Morrisons or wetherspoons much better half the price.

The Vault is a really nice little place to get a coffee and a full on breakfast. I personally had the pancakes with bacon and they were delicious! There is an interesting poster on the wall dedicated to the history of the building which was fascinating, and all sorts of different money types studded to the board to represent it's history as a bank. It's a place that takes pride in it's history but is also progressive enough to sell artisan products like special peanut butter. Lovely place with a unique identity. Only issue we had with it was it was sold out of loads of stuff when we came so it was running a reduced menu but I suppose that shows it's popular enough to be sold out!

A lovely little café, perfect for a spot of lunch and a cuppa! I had the chili dog, it was nice, although it could have done with a bit more spice and maybe a few side accompaniments such as guacamole and sour cream dips etc. Otherwise, the menu offers plenty of choice and value for money! The staff were very welcoming and friendly. 👍

Food was fresh and well presented! It was slightly overpriced for what you got but there was a warm welcome by the girls serving and made for a nice experience. Coffee was very good

A great little cafe for lunch. Plenty of choices including specials and many different types of salads. The staff were really friendly and helpful. Everything was spotlessly clean. The crab cakes were delicious. In all a great find.

This is a really nice cafe in Morpeth town centre. The place is really clean and staff were very helpful with dietary needs and can serve gluten free food and vegeterian. Just be careful with the gluten free, for example the red sauce sachets arent....

Called in here for lunch, we ordered 2 soup of the day with bread, 1goats cheese with rocket, pear and walnuts drizzled with honey served on a flatbread which we shared. The portions were excellent, add 1 beer 1 milkshake with whipped cream and a diet coke total bill under £30 which was great value for money. The staff here were friendly and apologetic about the wait, which given it was lunchtime and they were full, it certainly wasn't excessive.

Popped in for lunch, we had poached eggs on sourdough bread with avocado and spinach. We also had nachos with cheese/ jalapeño and sour cream and two coffees. Speedy service , present staff reasonable priced couldn’t fault it. Great decor. Well worth a visit instead...

We decided to treat ourselves to a nice lunch whilst doing some Christmas Shopping in Morpeth First we tried an attractive Italian Restaurant but was told that we wouldn't be served quickly, we then tried another recently opened restaurant in an old Hotel, where we were told that if we wanted a light lunch then they didn't have much to offer. Slightly disillusioned by the welcome so far, we came across the Cafe Vault. It was welcoming, friendly and just what we needed. Pleased that the other bigger restaurants put us off so we could discover this gem of a place.

First visit for 2 years after time outside the uk. Slightly more expensive than some other cafes but quality is very good and espresso coffee is excellent (and I say that as an Italian resident!). Excellent bacon roll and these ladies know their coffee.

We love coming here; it's the only place we eat and drink in Morpeth. Super choices of food (including cake!) and drinks in lovely glass cups. Staff friendly and service quick but you never feel hurried. Don't want to highly recommended incase we can't get a table!!

Went here for lunch, second visit. I found seating uncomfortable. Menu and specials. I had chicken salad with pear substitute for advertised strawberries. This was very tasty and beautifully presented. Husband had a special of brisket Stottie with mash and gravy. It looked unappetising. He didn’t each much of it. Had to chase up drinks which we’d asked to be served with the food. Prices were reasonable. In fact, I think the salad was very good value considering the amount of tasty chicken.

Fab Fridays... The Vault is my only go-to place for a Friday morning brunch and a bit of work. The Eggs Benedict is sublime and I'm very particular ! The personal service and attention to detail (always remembering what I have, the order and even how I like my coffee) makes this the best cafe in Morpeth without doubt. Well done Jackie and the gang - always a pleasure :)

I'm not a cafe kinda guy but my friends wanted to go here when we met up for lunch. I have to say it was a very good experience. The food was lovely - the menu had plenty of choices including imaginative vegetarian options and mostly pretty healthy stuff although a couple of us chose the fish finger sandwiches (not really unhealthy, the fish fingers were completely grease free). A couple of us got the wraps with different fillings, all really beautifully presented. The staff were lovely, friendly, helpful (digging out an unusual tea for me, delicious it was too) and made us feel very welcome.It's a very small cafe so not acres of room if you need a lot of space, but all on the level including toilets. It was very busy, we got the last table, but the noise was at a reasonable level and there was a really good atmosphere. Can't criticise, at all, it was all good. Four mains, 4 drinks, £37. Bargain.Long may the small independents reign.

I visited this lovely little cafe for lunch during a day trip to get my Covid vaccine. I was on my own and worried taking a table to myself would deny them other customers, but the waitress who served me couldn't have been nicer about it. Coffee was tasty, and food was piping hot and came really quickly. I had the goats cheese, pear and walnut flatbread and it was absolutely gorgeous and beautifully presented - I live in Scotland, but I might have to make a trip back to Morpeth for that alone - highly, highly recommend. The cafe has a great menu with really tasty veggie and vegan options and some amazing looking cakes - to quote the little boy on the table behind me, "woahh, my croissant looks soo good!!" If you're looking for somewhere for breakfast, lunch or coffee and a chat whilst in Morpeth, don't let this little cafe pass you by. It's an absolute gem, and I will definitely be back in if I'm ever in the area!

First visit to this cafe, good atmosphere and inventive food which was excellent. This review should warrant 5 star, sadly it was the lack of Covid procedures which really let it down. Firstly it would have been nice if the staff had worn face masks as the tables were close together, secondly there was no mention of track and trace or no request for your details which is really odd. Yes the NHS sign was showing in two areas but this is the first cafe I have been in who have not promoted this.

Absolutely wonderful breakfast! Wide variety with Veggie and Vegan Menu. Eggs done to perfection (double yolkers too!) They do the best bacon I've ever had and crispy hash browns too. The staff are just fabulous. Would I go again? Yes of course! Would recommend if in area.

We recently called in to this lovely little cafe for a light lunch. The choice was very good and the service attentive and speedy. Nice to sit outside at a pavement table on a sunny day and watch the world go by.

Lovely home made chilly well worth a try, the cakes are to die for, the staff are friendly chatty, but also leave you to eat peace.

On passing through Morpeth on a day out, we decided to have lunch and happened upon the Cafe Vault. Totally by chance but what a find, we were made very welcome by the girls and enjoyed a superb meal of Pulled ham on ciabatta topped with poached eggs, stunning, we really enjoyed the meal. If in Morpeth again it will be the one place we search for to eat. Well done guys, good luck to you in these difficult times.

Delightful cafe,visited for a light lunchMy husband had a bacon stottie and Moretti beer I had a delicious flat bread with goat's cheese, pear, walnut and honey and a glass of chardonnay. The cafe had a good choice of food from croissants and scones and a range of coffees and soft drinks to more substantial fare such as baked potatoes with choice of filling and fish finger sandwiches, salads .There is also a specials board.Service was attentive and prompt and the cafe was beautifully clean .Would definitely visit again. ..

Visited this morning.. gorgeous friendly staff. I had poached eggs on gf toast and my son had a full English.. both superb. I never normally order scrambled eggs when eating out cause they are usually over cooked and dry... but!.. my son had these on his full English and shared them with me... cooked perfectly!. Still moist and lovely. Highly recommend. 5 stars.

Had a Great Atmosphere in a lovely interior. Opens a little late for a Breakfast and didn't offer a Full English on the menu but an excellent cafe to stop off at.

Nice, pleasant place, (used to be a bank, hence name!) with friendly helpful staff. Had 2 ciabatta sandwiches, which were really nice, with 2 coffees. Also do a chefs special. Popular/busy place; glad to see them open. Would recommend.

We visited here yesterday for like the 10th time now and was excellent as always, I had fish finger sandwich and my father had the broth, your spoon stands up in it everytime. Will be back soon!

Visited on a Wednesday and it was quite busy but managed to get a table for 3 We opted for sandwiches hot and cold and a flat bread. Everything was really nice and very good presentation. Staff were very friendly . Lovely decor. Prices reasonable

We had two full English breakfasts, lovely, good quality ingredients. We also were given a cafetière of coffee as opposed to a cup which I felt was a nice touch. Friendly and attentive staff, lovely atmosphere and great value for money.

Use this cafe regularly when shopping in Morpeth. Great selection of food which is always well presented and served promptly. I particularly like the cheese and onion scones. Coffee is very good. Staff very friendly and prices reasonable. Highly recommend.

This is my 3rd or 4th visit now to the vault, food is fab, broth is thick - your spoon can stand up in it, I had panini which came with salad and slaw which was nice, really good value for money the food here, staff are very calm and caring, nothings a bother to them. Nice to know you can trust this cafe and it will deliver everytime! Will defiently return soon!

Had Lunch here for the first time ...just by chance ....would go Cafe Vault every time we are in Morpeth ...The whole experience was high quality ...Thank You to the very friendly , helpful staff 😊
