Cafe Rouge Reigate in Reigate and Banstead

Stopped in for a quick bite during a work visit and really enjoyed the food, drinks and atmosphere. The bartender (Dylan) was super friendly, and served up some nice recommendations on tap for me. The onion rings were some of the best I’ve ever had in my life. No joke. 5/5

I ordered the chicken wings as part of a group. The new Head Chef, Connor, came downstairs to warn me of the risk of seafood cross contamination. Wow. So few venues take this level of consideration. Credit to AJ, the Manager on duty as well. You guys saved me a week of illness.

I recently (26/01/24) organized a social event at The Market Stores pub in Reigate for 56 people, with buffet style food. We had the upper floor to ourselves. That space is plenty for the number of guests that we had, although it is a bit on the long and narrow side. The food deal we had was the finger buffet, for which there was a minimum of 5 items per person at £3.50 per item. I wondered if this would be enough for some of the big appetites in our group, but they assured us that it would be, and it certainly was. In fact I fear there was quite a bit of food left over, which was a shame as it was very tasty and very attractively presented. In particular, all items of food were clearly labelled as to ingredients, just as I had requested. I had a lot of help and advice from AJ (mainly), and she responded quickly to any queries I had. All in all, we had a great evening, and I would thoroughly recommend The Market Stores as a venue for a gathering of this nature. Nick

Fantastic Fuller's pub in the middle of Reigate, went on a Saturday night, there was a really good vibe and live music too. Huge choice of gins and a very good Guinness to boot.

Would give all 0 stars if i could. Terrible place. Booked a private birthday event here and they came very close to absolutely ruining a 30th birthday and gave no sh*ts about it. Fistly they did make us aware that the kitchen was closed and we could not bring our own food which is fair enough. But they said they would lay out Crisps and snacks for us and make it look nice for our arrival. They did none of that. Secondly when booking, they said we could connect our own music and play it through the speakers in our private area, and to make a playlist. On arrival we were told there is absolutely no chance we are allowed to play our own music and had to make do with theirs which was poor and quiet. This upset us alot as you can image this was supose to be a special event, where we could have fun and a dance. No dancing happened at all. Lastly, when booking they told us we could stay until 11pm with kids. Out of the blue we were told as we have kids with us we have to be out by 9pm!! On all of these issues they did absolutely nothing to help us would not budge on anything! What a terrible place. Luckily we spoke to another venue nearby and they welcomed us all on such short notice and we stayed with kids until midnight, were able to play music and ordered pizza for everyone. AVOID THIS PLACE

I honestly don't know why this place has 4 star reviews, but take it from me, I wouldn't wast a penny at this place and if you're thinking of booking it for events don't do it! Booked it for my 30th private event first of all we were told prior we were allowed to have our own music bar snack would be laid out as the kitchen is"closed" we arrived none of that had happened, we were not allowed to play music but instead we had to make do with the music from downstairs, as people were arriving we were told no kids after 9pm which again we should have been aware of, what a horrible night! Never again!!!!!! If you want to actually have a great time go to the one down the road they took us and all our guests, kids and the rest of then night was amazing we should have went there instead! Staff were more professional and friendly, whatan absolute waste of money spent here

Great pub. Met few mates here and was nice atmosphere.

No service. Food service 45 min after order. Chips taste fish and burger are ridiculous specially at that price. Nice place for a drink and no more.

Solid local pub, usually a good atmosphere and nice place to chill out for a while. Gets very rowdy on a Friday; more chill but lively vibe the rest of the time. Have never seen anyone eating here.

Booked a table for a nice Saturday night out, but the kitchen was closed, dishwasher broken so we were served in plastic glasses, the live music that was supposed to start at 9pm started 50 mins later. Disappointed

At the end of Reigate Cave tunnel, it’s nice view of a pub. Feeling thirsty so pop in for a pint. Not bad choice for cask & keg beers. Indoor & outdoor seating as well as rooftop garden. Nice atmosphere. Enjoy my time and drink.

What a transformation freshening up the decor and adding more tables and chairs to make the lunchtime midweek drinks time feel more welcoming. That coupled with new enthusiastic and smiley staff has transformed this watering hole. Five stars from me :-)

Had a great time celebrating Christmas with my team. The ambience and selection of beer is nice as well.

Lovely pub bit of a post modern feel too it but the ale is lovely like the service will be coming back here again with a lovely rooftop garden

Great pub quiz on a Tuesday night and the hostess isn't bad either!

I had a pint and wife a glass of chardonnay sitting outside on a sunny Saturday. It wasn't busy, decent crowd and prices on par with London (i.e. not your Weatherspoon prices)

Terrible night. Decided to go to the advertised quiz night. (Tues). Popped in at about 3.15 on the day (11/7) to ask what time the quiz was on. We were told it started at 7.15. We arrived to a fairly quiet pub st 7.15. Ordered drinks and again asked the time of the quiz. Again told 7.30. Found a table. According to the sign the upstairs area was closed for a private function. We then ordered some food. Realised it was past the quiz start time, but thought it may be 7.30-8. Food arrived. We asked for cutlery to be told by the staff member they had to speak to other customers who had ordered food, but they would be back in 30 secs. He returned over 15 mins later with the cutlery!! We had finished the food. We found some drink napkins and a couple of knives ourselves. Luckily we had burgers. After asking why he hadn’t brought our cutlery, he said the other job took him longer than expected. I suggested our request for food utensils should have taken priority as if we had waited our food would have been cold. I then asked about the quiz. Which we were then told takes place upstairs. They put the sign up so they don’t have to open the upstairs bar, as there are only two staff!! We bought food and two rounds of drinks, spending nearly £100 and didn’t even do the quiz we had arrived for. We also spoke to the female staff member who wasn’t that much better and agreed when someone enquires about the quiz being pointed in the right direction would have helped! She also said we should really book, again not informed by any staff member and the website says just turn up! Really badly managed pub, poor communication and only average food. Very disappointing for a local.

Haven't eaten there yet, but it's a great place to chill.

We were overcharged by £30 after a meal at the Reigate branch which might have been an honest mistake. Since the visit, I have rung, emailed, left feedback for head office and visited the restaurant trying to get my money back. My emails are ignored despite being told by members of staff to email, and the manager never calls me back. This is unacceptable.

Worst Afternoon Tea I have ever experienced. Lack of friendly welcome, mediocre service & non existent manager.( We pre booked & requested the afternoon tea menu) We arrived to be told.... sit anywhere.... Wrong menu's given, but rectified quickly. Tea arrived quickly, food took a while to come out. Mini baguettes consisted of a slither of ham & a rocket leaf! Brie ones were the same. We both took a bite & our faces must of been a picture... they were dry, chewy not pleasant at all. So my friend went & found our waitress & asked could we please have some, mayo, chutney or mustard added to make them more edible. So our food was taken back to the kitchen & came back after about 10 minutes. To our disbelief all that had been done was olive oil had been drizzled all over the mini baguettes!!! This was not what we had asked for & definitely not acceptable. So we requested the waitress to take the food back & we would order from the main menu. At this point we were told the manager would come & see us... Well 50 minutes after we arrived we still have no food, no sight of a manager & those that were seated after us were eating hot food! We walked out not having any food, dreadful service & will never return. Thank you for spoiling what should of been a lovely afternoon treat with a friend. That's without the time wasted getting there & parking paid for the privilege. Shame on you Cafe Rouge!

When we arrived on Friday night we were greeted well by the manager Kris, who was very friendly, knowledgeable and very professional. When we were eating our meal the manager came over to us and did a check back to see if everything was alright and ended up having a chat to him as he is a very nice guy and a very kind person in general who keeps a high standard of service at this restaurant. The food was amazing especially the mussels which were unbelievable, the wine which was recommended by the manager Kris was spot on and a perfect match for the mussels. Also the waitress who was working with Kris also was amazing, would highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely be back soon.

I was really excited about visiting Café Rouge in Reigate, the food was fantastic. Excellent customer service. Thanks Jenny for her friendliness, promptness and attention. The atmosphere of this place was excellent, the waiting time was pleasant and the attention was incredible.

I am shocked by the level of unprofessionalism! I have never experienced such rude behaviour before, and weirdly enough the staff member who treated us disrespectfully referred to herself as the manager!! Overall nothing is actually special about the place! If you walked a little bit down the high street, you can easily find respectful decent and much more nicer places Would never recommend this pub to anyone or tolerate such hateful attitude What a shame!!

Steak overcooked, rubbery definitely not pink as requested. I took it home and fed it to my dogs. The only positive was the staff being friendly

Lovely historic fullers pub, when I first knew it it when I was in my teens it was the market tavern although enlarged internally since then it has been done well the beer is good quality and the staff friendly too

Overall disappointing meal - waitress unhappy and seemed very inexperienced - leaning over our food and almost knocking over glasses, appearing to tut when asked anything, slow to clear, bringing others food to our table - wasn’t even busy! Food was mediocre, steaks excellent but salads awful - lacking anything but watery lettuce. Did tell our waitress who just said ok. No follow up. Wont be returning sorry.
