Me and a friend stopped in for lunch and were not disappointed. Staff were great, even told us about an offer we didnt know about to get our meal discontinued. They checked on us throughout our visit we weren't disappointed!

For what we had, I could not understand how they charge So much.

Iwona was amazing! I went today morning with a friend and we had such a lovely breakfast here, and the service was perfect!

Iwona was great and the food was really good. Definitely I'll recommend it to everyone to come.

My partner and I had a lovely meal here. The food was excellent and the staff were very helpful, efficient and friendly. It was easy to find a meal that was both vegetarian and gluten free for my partner's special diet. The price was reasonable and we found the venue to be comfortable and cosy. We will definitely return and recommend this place to our family and friends.

This Cafe is awesome, the coffee is delicious and the service was fast, the French toast was delicious as well, definitely worth the price!

Very good food and friendly service. My wife and I had the French onion soup to start and the beef bourguignon as a main. The food was lovely.

We visited this restaurant for the first time last week, and i wasn't sure what to expect as we had never thought of this place, but booked a table as we were having a night out together as these occasions are quite rare, so we decided on Café Rouge. Upon arrival, first impressions, friendly, clean, lovely ambience, and the gent (i presume the manager) who checked us in and got our booking details, was so so helpful, so chilled, and super friendly. We went to our table on the inside, and it felt i had been sent back to Paris - it was really authentic. The waitress - absolutely amazing again, super friendly, helpful when looking at a menu, gave opinions without being pushy - they let us take our time, and when we decided what we were eating - my goodness we were super impressed - the food was delicious, the wine was delicious, and the whole night was perfect for us - we cannot wait to go back!! Perfect for anyone, because the choice of food was amazing - and i really was impressed - the calamari and mussels were out of this world - definite favourite!! i asked if they do a childrens menu, and explained our daughter has autism, and the guy (i presume the manager) was so helpful saying they will help with anything to give her a great night - to be honest - this gives a lot of restaurants a run for their money - the staff were amazing, and the food - first class!! cannot wait to go back - and PS the mussels were better than any i have had around the med!!

Lovely lunch today at Cafe Rouge. We both had the half roast chicken marinated in garlic & herbs and fries. Chicken was served lovely & crispy just the way I love it. Staff were friendly and helpful and the 50% discount off the mains was a bonus.

Very lovely cafe with extremely friendly and helpful staff.

10/10 experience. The staff were lovely and welcoming during our visit. I highly recommend their garlic bread - hands down one of the nicest garlic breads I've had and that's saying something! Their mocktails were incredible, good value for money as they were a lot bigger than expected. The chicken was alright, it was fairly bland even with the gravy-type sauce that it comes with. It could have done with some veggies. Overall great experience and I'd recommend them if you're looking for a place to eat in St David's II.

Popped in for an evening meal. The service was excellent, very friendly and attentive. The food was amazing, well presented and very tasty. I would recommend to anyone.

Visited for early dinner on a Thursday evening and the restaurant was fairly busy. Good menu choices. We enjoyed a flat bread plus a salmon pate. We took advantage of the 50% offer on mains. Friendly staff

In all the time we have been to ST David's centre we never even thought to eat here .. I personally cant really recommend anywhere as of late its all gone downhill as far a standards are concerned. I wont mention names however some of the well recommended places to eat in Cardiff should take a look at their toilets as I always visit these first prior to ordering food as if they are grubby its a big no from me and i leave. Not on this occasion.. What a place ..Fantastic welcome from Magdalene aka Maggi and the service was extra phenomenal .. Don't know if he is the owner or manager however Matt really does know how to look after customers..Being in Retail myself he is tops ..Nothing to much trouble and all the staff smile ..Its rare ! Food 10/10 Service 10/10/ Cleanliness' 10/10 Atmosphere 10/10 Price and value 10/10 We are both looking forward to eating there again ..Its the best Thankyou Maggi & Matt.

Great Friendly staff, seated quickly food was prompt and delicious!

Had lunch with wife on a shopping trip. Service and staff were faultless. Quickly seated and order taken. No sooner had our drinks arrived our food was quickly served. Lovely food at very reasonable prices. Wife particularly enjoyed the passionfruit martini. Desserts were well portioned too. Staff friendly and efficient.

Breakfast was ideal here, quick service, clean toilets upstairs.

A bit busy and crowded, but it is in a shopping centre, not a place to visit for ambience during shopping hours. It is nice enough pretty good food, correctly cooked. Not very cheap, but it isn't a McDonald's.

The host clearly was nothing but a racist. They were quite a lot of tables present and he was not welcoming at all. We went to the bar right opposite to Frankie’s and we were welcomed right away. It doesn’t matter but we expected to be treated with dignity and respect. Clearly looks like the guy was having a very bad day.

The host was so rude and didn’t offer a table even though a few tables were available.

Great place for a quick bite and a coffee

We were bought an afternoon tea for my birthday. Sad to say it was not a great experience. Coffee was Luke warm. Cakes had obviously been previously frozen as cold in the middle. Afternoon tea consisted of three small cakes, a scone and four quarters of sandwiches each. Very disappointed.

Met here for food before a concert last night. They were very friendly and welcoming as usual. We had the chicken burger which was really delicious, and the side salad lovely and fresh. Had a few dietary issues, and they gave us good advice so was a great meal all in all. Will be back soon.

When we booked, I think we had visions that it would be in an old building as Plymouth's used to be. That had a real Parisian atmosphere. Unfortunately, shopping mall eateries don't do it for me, so would put me off booking again Tis a shame, other aspects were very good.

Tasty food, nice and good service. The only thing that was bad was the old grease on which the baby's fish was spread.

Had a daddy daughter date here and the staff were very well mannered and treated my daughter like a princess. The food was great and the atmosphere was lovely. Can’t wait to take my wife here now for a proper date night.

Always great food and service at Cafe Rouge (breakfast/lunch) Rico was my waiter today and honestly cannot fault him, very attentive even though it was quite busy. Highly recommend the Grand Breakfast!

Family brunch. Hearty portions. We were well fed and attentively served.

Quality of the food is great as well fresh, a great grand breakfast that I can recommend. Coffee and tea are of good value to go with the food. But nothing beats the staff of which I have usually have the pleasure of having Rico whom is always greeting us with a warm smile and remains to this day a pleasure to see.

Food was lovely. Waiter was a little rude when we arrived, saying that they had stopped serving breakfast but the website said we still had 40 minutes left, plus, we booked in advance.

We often go here for lunch when we are in Cardiff, but I don't think it's such good value anymore . The service was good as it should be when it's only got about 10 tables with people on. I didn't want much so had a salmon pate starter and some sweet potato chips,it was very nice husband had Beef with potatoe could of been better with a few vegetables and a tiny slice of apple tart. Both had drinks a lime and soda and small bottle of water. Bill was £44 for what was really only a three course meal .

Delicious food at reasonable prices. The waiter was also very accommodating to my young daughter. I was happy to see how they interacted so enthusiastically with her.

A nice place in the centre of the city to sit and eat. Reasonably priced menu with a good choice. I had the chicken burger with sweet potato fries followed by sticky toffee pudding served with salted caramel ice cream. Service was very good, waiter was efficient but friendly. Will go again for sure.

A lovely lunch, and friendly staff. You can usually find discount coupons offering 25 to 50% off your food or you can convert Tesco points into vouchers. Really good food again. The confit duck in cherry sauce was fabulous. I could have eaten a second dish of it.

I love coming here to eat. My only preference would be to have more meat free options on the menu. There now a lift up to their toilets which is wheelchair accessible.

Great food, as always. Our waitress was unsure about the use of a taste card on their lunch items. I explained that we had used it multiple times on the lunch items but not the set menu pricing. The waitress made a deal of the situation and said we could see if it worked at the end as she did not think it would work. I asked her to check first, and as it had before worked fine. She didn't seem to be happy about being wrong. This made the situation feel a little awkward. However, the French onion soup and Croque Madame were fantastic.

My Daughter booked an afternoon tea for us both, it was delicious. We were also given refillable coffee during our stay. This has to be one of the best afternoons teas we’ve ever had. The staff were so inviting, funny and kind. Thank you all for making our memory so special xx

This place is excellent, such authentic feel. Waiter Rico was very skilled, holding plates very well, making us laugh and recommended how the steak should be cooked and with which sauce, pink and with peppercorn. Super fast service and very professional. As I work in hospitality I have learnt a lot from Rico.

Good experience. Service was a bit slow considering the venue was not busy but you can do a lot worse. Food was really good and you can use Tesco Clubcard points to pay so if you shop at Tesco it's basically a free meal. Overall very good. Reason for not giving 5 star is service a little slow and menu could do with a few more options.

Food was ok not great, waitress was lovely. I would say over priced as well chicken and salad £15 chips were very thin and had some coating on which was not nice gravy with the chicken was a no no for me, very disappointed

Delicious food and very friendly atmosphere. I ordered a garlic mushrooms for a starter and my favourite beef bourguignon for main course. The food were cooked to perfection and the staff were very helpful and answered every question about the food we asked. I will be back but this time for afternoon tea as looks fantastic.

Absolutely disgusted,I booked a spa treatment and afternoon tea for my grandmother and friend, the gift was booked via Red letter days, and the afternoon tea in cafe rouge,I booked and arranged everything for my grandmother and had done so in order to ensure she wouldn’t have to deal with any of it on the day, upon arrival the manager was rude and arrogant and had an attitude from the get go, to add insult to injury the food was bland and quite frankly not worth the money After finishing the afternoon tea the manager asked for the red letter voucher which she provided,however he argued that It wasn’t the right information even though this was all we had been given and was the voucher we’d used to book the tea, he then proceeded to argue back and forth and told my grandmother how he should’ve left an hour ago as if his incompetence was her fault, all in all he ruined what should’ve been an enjoyable experience, clearly the hospitality sector isn’t for everyone

Full marks for the quality of the fillet steak but low marks to the chef. A medium to well cone came back med rare. And a well done served as med to well done and the biggest crime was to butterfly the steak, all the signs of a poor cook. Apart from that staff friendly and rest of food good except chips were straggle ends of cheap looking french fries.

Early evening, a pre-booked, post-theatre matinée meal. Hadn't been to Café Rouge for a number of years, and thoroughly enjoyed the experience/our meals.
