Cafe Roma in East Renfrewshire

Lovely fresh food and very friendly staff.

Had brunch here recently. The food was very nice but we had such a long wait for our food. Over an hour for some eggs in a near empty cafe. Not to mention the food came at all different times so some were finished while the rest was waiting. Also ordered desserts and some coffees. Coffees arrived a long time before the desserts & were cold/finished before the cakes arrived. The staff did apologise after the fact but they need to have a think about their processes.

Staff were very helpful and attentive. Unfortunately although the meals had been well cooked both meals were on the Band side, seasoning must have been off the menu.

My children and I have been going to ROMA ( CAFE ROMA) for a decade now. It's always been great, but the decor and food has gone up a peg. The prices have also gone up a bit but are in line with the improvement in quality 👌.

Much better under new owners. Lovely staff. But, I would say it's a little bit expensive.

Overall, I enjoyed my brunch at Roma and would recommend for a good value brunch and coffee. Couple of areas for improvement - I didn’t like that I ordered a full Scottish breakfast and had to pay an additional £1.50 for toast which came with it. Staff are young and feel a little lacking in training.

food is alway great for dinner but our latest experience was disappointing they didn't have the beer we wanted didn't have bruchetta didn't have lamb shank or beef ribs or any sticky toffee pudding all the things we wanted to order, this was only at 7pm on a Saturday night how could they have nothing left. It was disappointing as it was a special occasion celebration for us and couldn't get what we wanted to eat. What we had was very good just the lack of choice was the problem.

Went for dinner with a friend, food was delicious, waitress was lovely, professional and friendly. Enjoyed the background music. Will definitely be going back.

First evening visit here and we were not disappointed. The food was excellent and the service (from the fantastic Jonathan) was the cherry on the cake. Hold on to him Cafe Roma. He's a keeper. 😁 A (very) few local restaurants can just about match the food but that combined with the service provided is the USP. Highly recommended 👌

Me and my husband went for a lunch, and it was absolutely lovely experience. I had avocado on toast and can't recommend more. My husband had the eggs florentine and was so delicious. The staff was so lovely and friendly. Jana our waitress was so nice and make our time there so delightfully. We are definitely coming back.

Hardly anyone there, but had to wait more than 30 minutes for my (average) pizza - staff weren't very concerned...

Visited on Monday 18th fir lunch my mother has been sick since returning home only thing she had different was the coleslaw expect public health to visit

Eggs Black pudding are to die for.

This has been a pillar of Clarkson for years but not been since the refer. Won't be back. Coleslaw watery and had bubbles. Now this could be personal taste but tuna melt should be toasted. Was more like a tuna and cheese sandwich but on a ciabatta roll. Tuna mayo was quite sloppy as well. Side salad was the best but but even some of that was on the brown side.

Lovely place with really nice food and friendly staff. Plenty of options to choose from the menu.

What spoils this place is the loud music which seems to be to keep the staff happy but not the customers. Please tune it down a bit.

My children and me were dining there last Saturday and the food was absolutely delicious. The service is amazing and the atmosphere is so calm and inviting. My children loved the food and finished their food (which they normally don’t) and that’s them chose their meal from the adult menu. 5 stars from all of us.

Nice friendly service, however food was poor and only edible if you were hungry. Carbonara tasted liked a microwave meal gone wrong. Won’t be back

Looked forward to a delicious brunch but were disappointed to find Roma, Clarkston, under 'new management'. The chef can't make french toast as it was very dry and we had to ask for 'maple syrup'. He doesn't know the difference between proper pancakes and inedible crepes, adorned with a squirt of 'squeezy ' cream and a few scattered berries. If you want to be able to eat your brunch then AVOID this place!!

The only thing that spoilt it was the fact I wanted the soup and half sandwich. Which I was unable to order as I am a vegetarian and there were only meat sandwiches available. Why don't you offer veggie and vegan choices for this part of your menu ?

Great place to eat, food excellent, staff wonderfully friendly.

We love coming to Roma. Staff are all lovely and so good with my 6 year old and 1 year old. We're usually in for breakfast/brunch food and would really recommend it.

Big breakfast was warm, Baked bean where nuclear, coffee was ok not the best. Wouldn't go back. Wouldn't recommend. Please be careful

Roma was lovely, the food was great and the service tremendous. A few of us starters. The bruschetta and the haggis scotch egg were excellent. For main courses, we ordered steaks, a carbonara and a fish & chips. All were thoroughly enjoyed. If you are a dessert person, try the brownie, it was marvellous. It was a Friday evening and we were one of only two parties in the restaurant. Unfortunately, this made the atmosphere a wee bit flat. This is no fault of the management. I gather they've only just started evening service so hopefully word gets out and numbers rise. Roma certainly deserves to be much busier. We will certainly return. A final word goes to the new assistant manager whose name I've unfortunately forgotten. She was very attentive without being intrusive and that can be a fine line to walk.

We went in for lunch with my friend the other day. Staff were so friendly and lovely and the food was also very good. Definitely will be back for brunch.

Lovely food, friendly service but pricing a little inconsistent. I ordered the avocado toast which was £8.50. This consisted of one slice of toast with avocado, tomato and sliced onions- no garnish or salad. My family chose different options- all a similar price but all more generous portions and all including salad.

We were just in for a coffee and a cake Very friendly staff and nice looking please. We will need to come back for some food next time!

Great place for coffee in a good area of Glasgow. I had a brownie that was to die for with nice crust on top and juicy on the bottom. They do also lunch menu that I can’t wait to try . Staff was friendly too

Refit looks great! Excellent service as usual, great food

Really dirty torn menus, were going to leave and wish we had. Ordered two breakfasts, confusion about what was included, much messing around. 45 minute wait for food. More than half an hour for coffee. A friend was at the next table, they had a similar experience. There were lots of staff on shift. All in all poor experience. Won’t be back.

Nice place with friendly staff and nice food

Was disappointed my friend and I went in at 11am I was looking forward to having salmon hollandaise but the egg was cold and the hollandaise sauce was cold couldn't eat the second one the staff were lovely didn't leave a tip for that reason. Egg should have been soft boiled. Was so looking forward to seeing the new cafe Roma. I did say to the waitress I couldn't eat the second egg she did apologise but I didn't get any discount. What a pity I love to support local business.

Great full breakfast, nice decor.

In for breakfast with my husband and two kids, on arrival I noticed how beautiful the restaurant is, open plan and very inviting, instantly wanted to come back for dinner! We were seated and ordered drinks straight away, all staff were friendly and attentive. We ordered and all food was cooked beautifully, for us the biggest positive was that we had a small issue with our order when something came out and was wrong, however this was sorted by the staff then furthermore the owner was gracious enough to pop over and explain. Overall a beautiful breakfast and we will absolutely be back for dinner! Kids loved the porridge & berries.

Not sure if the place has changed ownership but this is the first time I’ve been in about a year. Really disappointed staff were so slow food took ages to arrive many people in the restaurant were having issues with there food and waiting for service. The woman who I am assuming was the manager walked by mountains of dishes on counter and was left the full time we were there. The place was just chaos to be honest even the small things ordered a pot of tea got one sugar had to ask for milk and more sugar , meal arrived had to ask for cutlery mug was dirty with lipstick just poor ! I remember how good the place once was. The staff were slow not faced paced or attentive won’t be back I am afraid.

We visited here when were visiting Glasgow. Firstly , they were so helpful as we made our booking allowing for us flying in from Ireland but the plane was quite delayed and we had no idea when it would leave. But they kept our booking and also gave us the pre theatre menu . Yes there were still restrictions , and we were very happy how they dealt with it. The food was amazing ,and service friendly and considered. Had a great time catching up with family in lovely resteraunt, great food and company . Would recommend based on our experience .

Very Clean, Good Service. Good Food in a lovely atmosphere and reasonable priced. I have no idea why folk go to Costa across the road when we have Cafe Roma that is NOT an overpriced American franchised clone of every other store.

Not been in before but wife has very bright and welcoming cafe rooms are very good but surpassed by the pancakes very good place to come would go again and the staff are very good and do a good latte

When I was growing up this was the site of MacMillan Models and very happy memories. I decided to have the all day breakfast for a weekday lunch. The service was friendly and the place was not very busy. Overall the breakfast was ok. I did like the inclusion of Lorne sausage and fried potato scone, as I’ve not seen those in breakfasts in other places in ages. So that helped bring back memories. The coffee was pretty good. I was happy with what I had but not sure I would rush back.

First time I've been here since new owners took over. Very disappointed. Looks great with new leather seating booths but service and food very poor. Also toilet was dirty, wet floor and sink full of toilet paper. Salad was dead and had to be left on the plate. Sticky chillie chips turned out to be plain skinny fries and Eggs Benedict were cold. Definitely won't be back.

Cracking wee cafe. Mediocre portions, but big on flavour.

Looks lovely inside but that's all it has going for it, I ordered a chicken tikka burger and got a cremated beef burger with no sign of any chicken, my partner ordered a baked potato which had to be the smallest baked potato I've ever seen. I now have to go to the broom cafe and buy our lunch again. Do yourselves a favour and avoid

Fairly average to be honest. The menu looks good, but the food falls short of the descriptions. If you'd going to say that soup comes with 'Italian bread' then you need to follow that through rather than send out what looked like a slice of ship-bloomer. Similarly if you sell Bruschetta Pommodore as 'Toasted Italian bread topped with tomato, basil and olive oil' then some under-ripe tomatoes on a slice of toast with some balsamic glaze (and no olive oil) doesn't cut it. The food's not bad, just very average and pretty bland.

Great Cafe wide range of offerings from a bacon But tie to pizza. Still no pie beans & Chips but never mind enjoyed my lone sausage roll

Food very low quality for the price.

Went to Cafe Roma after church with a friend. We had intended just having a coffee each but saw Eggs Benedict on offer so decided to have that and it was excellent. Staff were all wearing masks and the cafe was very clean. I have visited regularly pre-Covid and it was good to be back.
