I visited Moniz after a long time. But The staff Yohaani n The Guy Recognized me and welcomed me . I felt very comfortable already. I tried my Favorite Moniz Steak. Which was cooked to perfection & was Delicious. I will definitely visit again with my Friends n Family so that even they can have This Amazing experience that I always feel at this Place. Thanks to Edgar n His Staff. See You Soon!!!

Ate at this cafe for supper evening before flying out from Heathrow. Walkable from many airport hotels. Portions were generous, service staff friendly and food authentic mediterranean.

Came Solo to the Restaurant on the 18th of June, ordered a beef bitoque and couldn't be happier. Great flavour, beautiful presentation and a big portion. Very good service overall. Regards to the Kitchen staff

A nice simple restaurant with freshly cooked food, worth nipping out of the hotels in this area to go and have something different. The staff were a highlight, they were very good and everything came quickly and was very tasty at an affordable price.

Our second visit this year when staying at the Double Tree for Twickenham rugby. Superb again enjoyed tried the gizzards and chicken wings as starters which were excellent. Both had skewers for mains again mouthwateringly delicious.Love the simple authentic feel of the place.. reminds us of a restrauant we ate at many times in Sagres in 1988. We'll definitely be back on our next visit.

If Guy Fierri ever found himself in London looking for diners, driveins, and dives, he would do well to visit this small restaurant, located across the street from the Doubletree Heathrow. My wife and I ate there on a Saturday night and ordered the gizzards (can't remember the specific name) and the lamb chops. They were both amazing. The gizzards were the appetizers, but the portions were large enough to be a main course, and the sauce was delicious. The main course, the lamb, came with three chops and it too, was outstanding. We enjoyed our meal so much we came back two days later. This time we ordered the tiger prawns for an appetizer, and again, it could have fed us both. We ordered a beef skewer for the main course and it was lean and done to perfection. I wish I had gotten our server's name because he was helpful and his recommendations were spot on; a very pleasant fellow. Well worth your consideration.

As started earlier, the place is not impressive outside nor is it fancy at all inside. There were a number of locals watching tv and having a drink when we arrived. The server suggested the beef skewer which we had as well as the chicken in cream sauce. All I can say is it was probably the best meal we had in the UK. The meat was tender and well seasoned. The chicken was perfectly done and the sauce with mushrooms was heavenly. Fast and helpful service as well. I highly recommend!!

I was somewhat sceptical walking into this cafe/restaurant. Were we pleasantly surprised! The food was delicious! The beef skewer was so, so tender, done to perfection. Salads were fresh, the bream fish was moist, also done to perfection. Don’t hesitate to come.

We were rebooked into a local hotel due to a refugee crisis. We were very disappointed with the hotel food so we decided to look for a better restaurant to eat dinner. We found this local cafe and were so amazed. It looks like an unassuming place from the outside, and when you look at the tables. But it was far from it. The server was so amazingly attentive. The food menu was spectacular. Best food we have had in a while. We can't recommend this place enough. Please eat there!

A short walk from our hotel near the airport (Moxy). Not fancy from the outside but packed with travelers and locals alike. The food was as good, or better, than it looks in the pictures. Staff was very prompt and friendly; happy to provide recommendations. it Highly recommend for a good flavor fest!

I strongly felt to write a review after having lunch with friends today 01/3/2022. I decided to order a take away pork steak sandwich. I decided to call the restaurant just to enquire why there’s butter on the bread and no sauce? Never experienced such a lack os customer service and aggressiveness from a member of the staff or owner. Appalling and surely I will never return or my friends and acquaintances.

Amazing food, amazing service, amazing atmosphere and an amazing experience. Food was delicious and authentic portuguese cuisine. Always come back and never disappointed.

What a gem; we stayed at the Moxy for the Rugby and found this place just around the corner, amazing service amazing food and well priced , we had the T bone steak which was cooked to perfection and the whole bream, grilled beautifully and so fresh, although we had breakfast included at the hotel we went here the next morning as we fell in love with the place ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Who's Portuguese knows... £2,50 for a small pear Compal, is a rip off. However the big pear Compal costs £2,25 at their grocery shop!🤦‍♀ Really sorry, never again!!

Just like walking off the street in Porto. Ordinary tables and chairs, in a simple place that doubles as a deli, but the food! Generous, very fresh, and authentic. Bacalao a bras and a mixed meat skewer were amazing. Sharing an octopus salad for starter...

The area around heathrow isn’t pretty, but every turd has a silver lining; even filthy heathrow. If you’re interested in plain, honest excellent food, Moniz is the place for you. Of particular note is the quality of the produce served here. It is nothing short of spectacular. Chosen with love and devotion by a Portuguese family who actually care about what they put before you on the table. A fine selection of reasonably priced Portuguese wines and deserts that would, I promise you, tempt the devil himself. Absolutely spectacular. I’ve eaten here many times over the years, thanks be to God. Highly recommended in every imaginable way. Worth the trip from central London. Outstanding. Obrigado Moniz!

Good food in decent price and very happy friendly staff. Outside space is ideal for sunny days or non rainy hot evenings. TV helps to catch up football if happen not to kiss a champions league match. Altogether a good place to enjoy with family.

My husband and I had an overnight stay twice in Moxy Hotel at Heathrow Airport. There are only two restaurants near the hotel. One a Scandinavian restaurant right next to the hotel and the other, Restaurant Moniz, a three minute walk. The first time we ate at the Scandinavian restaurant. Wish we knew about Moniz the first time. It won hands down. It is a no frills, family restaurant with delicious authentic Portuguese food. The staff was very friendly and they were very accommodating to us given that the kitchen was going to close shortly.

We thought we give it go ! Missing our annual trip to Portugal this year. Almost round the corner for us. When we arrived they were busy, we got a drink and sat outside, it was lovely warm evening so opted to stay outside. The menu had a few of our favourites, good wine selection competitively priced. The service was a little slow ,but the food made up for it . We will definitely be returning .

Nice find near the airport. Small outside seating area and a busy place. Seafood rice took a while to come presumably because it takes a while to cook but it was a good dish . The mixed grilled meats were disappointing,cooked dry and deserved a flask on the grill not a cremation . Unusual pudding of egg white and sugar and caramel which was really good . Big portions and well worth a visit

We are visiting this restaurant now over 2 years on a regular basis and never have been let down. The food and the service are outstanding. We have tried other Portuguese Restaurant in London but none is as good as Moniz. You can eat here any dish you want they are all delicious.The prices are very fair as well.

We visited on a Sunday evening & it was very busy. The staff were very very friendly. The food was amazing. It wasn’t the prettiest presentation but it tasted amazing. The portions were massive. Dessert was a dream & the house red was very, very nice. We will definitely return even though we are not local.

Stayed at the Doubletree before early Heathrow flight and this was across the street. Casual and friendly restaurant. Menu is large, with Portuguese entrees and many other choices, salads, paninis, chips etc. Had the seafood rice dish. Very large portion, could only finish half. It tasted homemade and crammed full of mussels, shrimp, etc. Quite tasty. I'd recommend a stop if in the neighborhood..

We were staying at the Moxy ahead of a flight the following morning, and used google to find somewhere else to eat. A 2 minute walk away and you are in the Moniz. It is what it is in terms of the dining setting but clean, friendly and a fantastic menu. And then there's the food ... well, you just have to have fish - as good as anywhere I have been in Portugal and so authentic. What an absolute gem of a find!

...... you think ok. Sounds good but it can't be that good. Guess what! It is and better. Inside it is like they have transported a family run Portuguese Restaurant to the Bath Road, Heathrow. Fantastic staff who were attentive, friendly and funny. I ordered the mixed skewer and so glad I didn't give in to the suggestion of a starter, it was huge.

At a nearby hotel for stay over before onwards flight came across this Portuguese Restaurant and so pleased we did. Small and quaint. Absolutely lovely staff and what amazing meals we had. Hubby had T-bone steak covered in peppercorn sauce, fresh salad, rice and chunky chips. I opted for chicken scallops in a creamy mushroom sauce, fresh salad, rice and skinny fries gorgeous. Thank goodness we didn’t have a starter, and even then couldn’t finish our meals. Shame the deserts looked lovely. Very surprised with the price for two large meals and numerous drinks £42.00!! Unbelievable I know for London. Def worth a visit. Scrumdiddlyumptious.

Visited for dinner and, following morning for late breakfast, when staying at an airport hotel on the Bath Road at Heathrow. All the food seems freshly cooked, tasty and good value. The red Portuguese wine at dinner was pleasant and not expensive. There is quite a wide choice for dinner including good fish dishes. Most of the customers seemed to be Portuguese. There are bus stops close by for buses along the Bath Road.

Took a business colleague for dinner. Friendly staff, fairly busy place. Took more than one hour to get our food. Had the grilled tuna steak, which I requested be cooked rare. It can well done, but tasted well, just chewy as well done tuna will be.

Staying at a near by hotel and saw good reviews for here, I was not disappointed. Great and friendly service. Had the chicken skewer which was plenty to eat. Couple glasses of house Red very reasonably priced. If catching a flight out of Heathrow don’t pass this place up.

We were in London waiting to fly home from a long trip in May 2018. Cafe Moniz was across the street from hotel. Walked across street and had one of the best meals I have had in a long time. The waiters were attentive and it was busy! There were four of us and all had different meals and all equally great. We are planning another trip to Europe in April 2019 but going to Amsterdam and Belgium but deliberately made arrangements to spend a day in London so we could eat at Moniz before we fly out of Heathrow. I would give anything if you would come to US, specifically Utah!!!

We visited here as we were staying in the MOXY Hotel. We spent 58 pounds Stirling on 3 massive courses and a few beers and it was great. Food is good, staff were lovely and smiley. Highly recommend!

Moniz always good n but last time for sea bass we order 2 n beef n chicken. BEEF N CHICKEN WAS PERFECT BUT FISH NO SEASONING but will be back recommended

Tried this restaurant as was staying at the travelodge and had read the reviews. Arrived about 7.15 pm to a busy but not full restaurant. Were shown to a central aisle table. A large Tv showing Sky news at one end and on showing news in another language perhaps Portuguese? On the opposite wall. Having been to Maideria earlier this year we were keen to try the beef skewers like we had enjoyed there.

Su Bath road ci sono pochi ristoranti e questo è un ottimo ristorante che farebbe bella figura anche al centro di Londra. Si possono mangiare specialità tipiche portoghesi, quindi ottimo per spezzare le abitudini alimentari inglesi. Per una cena completa in due abbiamo preso : zuppa di verdura (buona e gustosa) a 4£, un tipico spiedone di carne di vitello accompagnato da riso, patatine fritte e insalata,(16£) una porzione di salmone con patate (13£), il tutto accompagnato da un bicchiere di vino (3£)e una birra(4£). Consigliatissimo.

I had dinner twice in this restaurant. Initially they bring a basket with a lot of bread soaked in butter garlic. I tried a grilled fish mix which fish quality was horrible, dry not recommendable and the other dish was the Madeira skewered which meat and sides quality were average. The desert choice is very poor and cakes are not home made. I had a slice of cake that was horribly dry because it was one of the last slices of the cake. Definitely I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant as an option for Portuguese food.

The food and service at this restaurant is simply outstanding. The atmosphere is homely with the staff being amazingly friendly which was a breath of fresh air after my experience with the staff at the moxy hotel just down the road. I will definitely return for the most delicious meal that I had the benefit of having.

You know when you are waiting outside in a line in the rain and the inside of this small cafe looks like a swirl of activity then you’ve picked a great place! The owner was busy helping the staff keep up with the busy evening chatting, smiling and helpful. The food was hands down the best I’ve ever had in London and we fell upon it staying near the AC hotel. Superb food, good price, service is busy but they’re def trying to keep up!

As cabin crew I sometimes have to stay near Heathrow on standby, this restaurant is a beautiful find! I had the beef skewer and it was cooked perfectly to my liking and was delicious!!! Can't wait to return next time I'm down. Staff were friendly and also offers outside seating area.

Overpriced No service at all Bad attitude on the server No receipt with the items after being charged to know how much it really is the real price. It look like a joke or a test. No apologies. Disappointed.

First time here when staying at the Moxy next door. Really delicious food and friendly staff. The neighborhood feels a little on the rough side, but even I felt very comfortable here as a young American woman. Highly recommend.

I like this restaurant a lot. The food is delicious, decent size portions and good menu. I recommend the steak, sea food rice, squid and "moelas" they are so tasty. Great and affordable. There is no parking available, have that in mind before head there.

Took a short walk from the Moxy Hotel and found this place a short distance away. Small non descript place on a side street and took a chance and entered. Portuguese food was excellent, staff were friendly and attentive and the servings are large. I am a 240 lb American with a hearty appetite and I was totally full. Definitely would go there again if in that area.

A great friendly welcome despite not being in the area for several years. Good quality well cooked food with wonderful flavours. Very reasonably priced and an ideal venue for those stopping overnight at Heathrow.

Great little restaurant near several of the hotels on Bath Road near Heathrow. Reasonable prices, huge portions, delicious food, friendly service. My husband thought he would have a "light" dinner with the meat and vegetable skewer. It was massive and delicious. Walking distance from many of the area hotels.

We were staying at the nearby Travelodge for 1 night and had checked out local restaurants on Tripadvisor. This had got some good reviews and we were so pleased that we ate here. We arrived at 7'30 and the place was full which says a lot!! Great welcome, fantastic food, lovely wine and good service in this lovely authentic Portuguese restaurant. Would love to have this restaurant in our locality. Try it out - you won't be disappointed

We were blown away by the quality of our meal at Moniz. We were staying close by for one night before heading to the airport and Moniz was convenient and has good reviews. It didn't disappoint either. The food and service were both excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit and wished we lived closer!

Great fish dishes and deserts. Decent wines and prices which won’t break the bank! I’ve been before and I’ll be back again.

If ever there was a case for "Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives" to do a U.K version, Café Moniz should be the first place on the list. Unassuming inside & out the food is fantastic.

Place is warm and food is excellent. Recommended restaurant in the area . Food taste amazing and freshly prepared. Never miss this place for dinner or lunch . Great place to dine in with typical delicious Portuguese delicacy. Highly recommended.

Getting worse this place food is really simple and staff is very rude...the hav no manners...so dont waste your money there....

Looking for some great food close to the hotels neart Heathrow? Look no further than Moniz. Everything is fresh and superbly prepared. I had the mixed grill which was huge. I had at least 6 nice pieces of different fish, some calamari and a couple of mussels and shrimp. The lemon herb sauce is terrific. They were very accommodating and let me change the potatoes to a salad. Definitely worth a visit and excellent prices too!

The place it self looks a bit old but the food is ammazing and fresh.

Friendly and funny staff went with a few amigos made me feel as if I was back home in Portugal had a few bolos and a beer for a while and had friendly convo with a young beautiful lady will come again

Not the first time I stay at Double Tree Hilton because my UK office is close by. So far, did not really go our for diner or just buy some food in the supermarket on the other side of the road. Saw the sign of Moniz restaurant and from the outside, cannot say it looks fantastic. Never mind, it was cold and I wanted something warm for diner. Went there, service is very friendly, food is amazing and portion huge, price are very decent for UK. Even if you have to wait for your meal, don't complain, you will be so happy with your food that you will forget this waiting time. I've been there two times tried grilled meat one day and fish the second day, both were fantastic. I took also some wine and really, was very nice. Would like to recommend this place but already busy and I would like to be sure finding a table next time I will be in Houwnslow !

Staying the night before a flight from Heathrow, we saw the reviews on trip advisor and decided to give it a try. Delicious food and friendly atmosphere. Would definitely go back again.

If you just looked through the window you may disregard this little gem, but don't be deceived. It looks casual, it IS casual but OMG the food is fabulous. Perfect sea bass, perfect steak, huge plates and delicious wine selection. Waitress helpful and friendly (thank you). We are overnighting nearby prior to flight tomorrow and only called in due to reviews. In future this will be our must visit restaurant whenever near by. Two meals, wine and coffees £41. What's not to like. 20 min walk from Premier Inn.

Staying overnight near Heathrow, I was recommended this Portugese restaurant. What a little gem! Simple surroundings but the food was outstanding. The assorted seafood platter would easily serve two (they may or may not allow this) and had 5 types of fish plus squid, prawns and mussels. All cooked to perfection in herbs, olive oil and a little garlic. If you stay at the Hilton Doubletree, Travelodge, Premier inn (7 mins. walk) or several other Heathrow hotels nearby, come here for a lovely dinner.

We have been to Moniz before and have enjoyed it, there was 5 off us on the 10th October, my daughter birthday. Ordered soup, chorizo sausage and chicken wings to start, Chorizo come out in flames, tasted lovely. Most of us had the skewers and the chicken supreme, all were perfectly good. The staff were excellent and even managed to bring out a huge slice of cake and sang happy birthday, total for 5 with drinks, including a white bottle of Rojas, £118.00, well good value, great cooked food and excellent service. Very impressed

I ordered a moniz breakfast over the phone and asked for toast along with it. Once I had gone to the restaurant to pay it was £7 so therefore im assuming this is sprinkled with gold...once i had bought it to my office to my surprise there was no toast... when i had spoke to the guy on the phone he said toast was extra £2.50!!!! Was extremely rude customer service as he put the phone down!! If you want to buy overpriced food and rubbish service then i do recommend moniz :)

it was just a casual dinner with friends that haven't turned to be as we wanted. after reading the reviews we decided to give a try to moniz restaurant and it have left us very disappointed!
