Great homemade soup 😋 Hot food & coffee Wonderful staff

Food was delicious especially the roasted red pepper and sweet potato 🥰 Sandwiches made to order and delicious. Coffee was very good unfortunately I didn’t have space for a cake! Lots of lovely home baking so might have to return 😉

After a day walking around Melrose this was a great place to stop for a well deserved beer Service top class ...great garden to relax beers good value

Stopped ad hoc and had a cheese scone, proper home made cheese scones, superb! Excellent coffee, nice cold soft drink, would definitely recommend and we will be back. Very nicely decorated, loo’s sparkling, staff very friendly.

I had a really pleasant evening here with my dog Echo. The locals made me feel welcome, there were a few other friendly dogs inside and Echo had fun with them. I enjoyed the Belhaven best which went down very easily

We had afternoon tea here which was excellent. A large selection of sandwiches scones cakes and salads all for £25 for 2 people. Tea or coffee in abundance. Lovely cheery ladies looking after us.

Had one of the best Afternoon Teas, food was delicious (gluten free version 1st class). Surroundings so clean and fresh. Service friendly and accommodating. Would recommend the high tea experience you wouldn’t be disappointed

Lovely lunch here today. Very hospitable staff too, allowing us to recharge our ebike batteries while having our lunch. Will be back soon.

can recommend this clean and friendly cafe in the village centre, also has small garden with seating out back. stopped off here during a cycle ride last week, fortified by a fluffy cheese scone and homemade soup, oh and couldn't resist that thick caramelly millionaires shortbread either...

Just travelled down from Edinburgh to meet family at the Gordon Arms. Fabulous experience...friendly efficient staff, lovely interior decor and tasty food at very reasonable prices. The baking is a MUST HAVE 😋. Would recommend a visit and we will definitely return. 😊

I visited this outstanding little bar and cafe three times whilst staying in the Borders last week and it is an absolute gem of a find. The new owners have out their heart and soul into the place and deserve every success for that alone. The food is fresh, delicious and extremely good value for money too. The staff are all genuinely friendly, smart and professional and both the cafe and bar are immaculately turned out. Definitely worth a visit if you find yourself within fifty miles of Gordon!!! Have passed through the village of Gordon numerous times and have always wanted to call in to Cafe Obrigado. Finally managed to do so today and was not disappointed. Warmly welcomed on arrival, the menu offers an excellent choice of food and I defy anyone not to be able to find something to suit their taste. We had heard good things about the beef burgers so decided to try them. Absolutely delicious! The meat was succulent and tasty, the chips were cooked to perfection and the homemade coleslaw was the best I’ve ever had. It is a little haven in a very quiet, unassuming Scottish Borders village and we will definitely be back in the very near future.

My friend and I where passing Cafe Obrigado and decided to pop in for lunch. We got a lovely warm welcome from the lady who served us. I just wanted something light, so I had a nice fresh light salad, but I also got chips which where delicious and plenty of them. The cook was also very friendly and had great banter with the locals which was endearing. Nice beer garden also. Great value also. Highly recommend.

Myra and I stopped off for a lunch here having gone for a wee day tour down the borders. The food was fresh, delicious and at a good price. Only better by the good service and friendly staff. We were the only customers because of the time of year and day. But they made us feel so welcome and were happy to give us a brief history of the place. As we left we asked for guidance to somewhere local we could walk the dogs. We were recommended to take them to the 'Gordon Community Woods' where people can walk their dogs. Not only a great walk but plenty to see and learn about.

Very friendly staff and good food (both the cafe and the pub). The rustic interior is lovely. Is worth to make a detour.

I visit here every time i am passing through. It has eccentric opening hours, but the service is wonderful, the portions massive and great value and the food, whilst not exotic is wonderfully prepared and exceptionally tasty. .

Has a lovely Sunday roast here on a wee lunch date with a friend. Tender tasty beef with all the trimmings, delicious. Had a cheesecake for desert which was out of this world. White chocolate and caramel, with mixed nuts. I could have eaten three bits to myself.I love coming to this place. The staff are always so friendly, and I think it's great that they allow dogs in.

Came here with friends and had a really nice evening. The staff couldn’t be more accommodating and when learning we were vegetarians offered a number of options not on the menu, which they freshly made. Good value too.

Stopped in for pre arranged booking of breakfast for 9 of us on way home from our holiday in Gordon. Lovely full cooked breakfast well presented and tasty with mushrooms beans bacon sausage eggs etc. wee extras - lots of jam and toast and nice tall glass of cold fruit juices. Wonderful coffee! Wee gem of a place! Fantastic service with very accommodating and helpful owner.

We stoped here for a take away bacon butty on the way through to Innerleithen mtb trails and it was a treat! we had several of them Sunday morning annd they were excellent all round and £1.50 each.... how good was that?

Third visit and this time for a lunch rather than the usual coffee and scone on the way to or from somewhere. What a treat. And as usual the service was great and the food wonderful. I'll be popping in at every opportunity. Lots of locals were calling in while I was there as well, which is always a good sign.

This was an experiment to try different places to eat , that we normally would not go to during the weekend - and it was a success , The Food was well cooked , fresh and tasty , with good service . It also had the advantage that it was quiet and peaceful - and you had your ' own personal chef ' experience . I would recommend this to anyone travelling through Gordon on the road to Duns or Earlston .

Great place to stop off for lunch. Part of the Gordon Arms Hotel. Pleasant quirky bistro type café with a very reasonably priced lunch and light meal menu. The staff were very welcoming and friendly and the house coffee was great. Lovely fresh salad with our open sandwiches. The butternut squash soup looked delicious as well. Everything was spotless and clean. The all day breakfast looked like a good value and tempting option. We will add this one to our list for future visits.

We stopped off for a quick lunch with our dog. It is a pub attached to a cafe. It is dog-friendly, really good coffee and nice selection of food and they did home baking on Sunday if not mistaken. A very cozy cafe with a touch of quirkiness. They have books, toys and it is breastfeeding friendly. Staff is really friendly and suggested a few places around that are worth a visit. It is nice to just sit out on the front on a sunny day. They accept cards.

I go there quite a lot as it is the area I work in and when I have time on my hands before I start again I go for lunch you don' t get small portions either staff are lovely to

Gordon is a nice pleasant village but most people tend to just drive through, me included. Shame on us! Needing a toilet break I took my dad into the cafe and we had coffee/hot chocolate and scones. The little cafe is part of/joined on to the pub next door and shares facilities and becomes the pubs restaurant at night. Well I was a little surprised at the quality and guilty at leaving my elderly mother in the car so on the recommendation of the young lady serving I took my mother a take away piece of chocolate cake. It is my mum who has insisted I do this review as having stopped at most cafe's in the area in the fortnight she is adamant that this was the best cake in the borders. Keep up the good work and the smiling service.

We were staying in the village at the Gordon Old School B&B;, so Cafe Obrigado was ideal - just a few minutes walk away.

I called in to Cafe Obrigado a couple of times while on a short break in the area. The first time I had coffee and a scone although I was also tempted by the selection of cakes which looked delicious. The second time I had the early evening special which was beef burger and chips. On both occasions I was made to feel very welcome. The food was good quality. I generally don't really like beef burgers but I was told their burgers are made from steak and mine certainly tasted great. My burger came with bun, salad and coleslaw as well as chips and the portion size was generous so I didn't have a pudding. Excellent value when accompanied with a glass of wine, all for £7. I understand they also do food to take away if that suits better. I will definitely call in again next time I'm in the area.
