Cafe Mauds in Fermanagh

We called in for a light lunch to break a long car journey. The guy welcomed us and showed us to our table. The food was great, reasonably priced. Unfortunately the one let down was when the young waitress lifted our unfinished drinks without asking, probably lack of experience- it was a little irritating but apart from that was a pleasant experience

Food lovely, service polite, atmosphere homely. I will go back definitely.!!

Had the Beef Burger today. Absolutely brilliant, juicy and loaded with extras. Thanks for such a nice Burger.

Arrived told to take a table anywhere, sat ignored for fifteen minutes, waitress walked past three or four times, in the end we stopped here and asked if we could order, she looked surprised that we wanted to do this and said yes no Bother, she Brough our order pretty quick we thanked her and again she said no Bother I wondered why we had been so ignored by the many staff wondering about if it really wasn’t a Bother!!!!!!

Service very slow, so slow in fact our deserts were not charge for. Plenty of staff but wondering around not doing much.

Came into day & got ice cream one for me one for my Daughter My Daughter got bubble gum I got honey comb the price of a small cone is £2. Which I throught was good we got two small cones.

Lovely little cafe nestled in the top of the town. Food and service was excellent.

Went yesterday and one of the girls who worked there had a bad attitude I asked her why the milkshake wasn't yellow like banana and instead of her explaining how they make it so my son who has many problems could hear she just looked and me and walked of how rude and then I had to ask another waitress where it had gone they also cooked the baps for my son's burger which I had to ask them to change as he don't like it toasted but he never ended up eating the burger or drinking the rank milkshake but my mushrooms were the best I ever tasted and the frappes was also lush maybe if you have better people who will understand and treat customers better I would of left a 5 star as everything else was good and it was very clean

Called into mauds this evening with my son and his friend who's birthday It was. We were getting ice creams for the 2 boys and the girl serving is an absolute star. She completely made the little boys birthday even more special, he felt delighted . Thank you so much. I don't know your name but I'm sure you'll remember me.

Ice cream with no taste. Horrible service, we stood in line and they ignored us and served people that were behind us.

Absolutely a wonderful experience last Saturday. They really looked after my daughter who has a number of food allergies.

I have been in the Enniskillen Mauds several times and every time I have been in the cafe, the manager has been EXTREMELY rude, being passive aggressive and constantly making sarcastic remarks. He also blatantly talks about costumers in front of them and overall has a terrible attitude and should not work in costumer service. In the past I have overheard him tell other costumers that they need to “order properly”, as well as they “need to be more clear” when requesting things. These are things which should NOT happen in a costumer service environment and should not be tolerated. After conferring with others, I have learned that this is NOT a one time thing, which has led me to write this review, as I feel nobody should have to deal with his quite frankly ignorant attitude. I hope that the appropriate repercussions are given to this individual and also that some costumer service training is provided specifically for him.

Jedzenie bardzo pyszne .Dobrze i szybko podane . Mała kawiarenka gdzie można coś zjeść . Gdy jesteś w okolicy lub czekasz na autobus polecam to miejsce .

Went for lunch today with a school friend , won’t rush back , service ok , food ordered came with cheese which it definitely didn’t say on menu , sent back , 5 minute wait for fresh one , southern flat bread was ok but had better . Need to put correct stuff on their menu .

Really disappointed in service and food. Waited 45 mins for what I would described as meh at best. Food was flavourless ( devils tongue and nachos, which should explode with flavour). Garlic fries were actually cubes and were swimming in garlic butter which made them difficult to eat. When paying the manager couldn't give a toss about how poor the food or service was and simply replied with a shrug and said they only had 1 chef on and what did we expect. Wont be rushing back any time soon. Mauds used to be so tasty but has really gone down hill in recent months.

I brought my family here for an afternoon lunch, after a 45 minute wait we finally received our meals. The food we received was well below the standard that we got in previous visits. When I highlighted this to the manager he advised that there was only one chef on but I could tell he couldn't really give toss. I would not recommend Maud's at all - poor service & poor food.

Here on 02/01/2023, girls working there were all very helpful and nice. However I can’t say the same for what seemed to be their manager who was a bearded male. I witnessed him get annoyed at one of the girls for a very silly reason and it changed my opinion on him as I’m in here regularly and he’s nearly always working. Food and everything was great just gave me a bad opinion on the management as I was walking out the door and witnessed this

Lovely food but the service is severely lacking. We wanted to have a coffee after our food, (a table with 5 people might I add so a good amount of money spent) and were told very unceremoniously that the table was needed as people were queueing and we could sit outside and drink our coffee. As a person who has worked in a cafe myself I cannot imagine how this can be seen as good customer service, we had not been there overly long if you don't count the wait on food so why is someone else more valuable than us? Poor way to treat customers and although the food was nice I won't be back.

The worst milkshake ever. We waited over 10minutes for the watery milkshake and had to throw it away. The only good thing we got from there was the ice cream.

I ordered a mauds for home delivery to home and we put in our address when we got a text to say that we should meet the delivery van under a tree, which put us into a panic so we rang mauds, they put us on hold for 10 minutes and when they finally answered they said they sent us the wrong text, we initially ordered our food for 1:15 but by the time it arrives it was 1:40 when the van got here, he informed us that we had been undercharged and had to pay more which we were unaware of and did not have the cash, so he drove away and then came back, while we were eating, to inform us that we needed to pay him the money through a cheque, and we had to give him personal information.

UNPLESANT Experience I love this café and was a regular visitor when living in the town, now I've moved away I enjoy having the chance to come back. However my visit was so horrible thanks to a incredibly rude man! -highly expensive -didn't get what I ordered -Wrong bill -rude manager I ordered the Smokey joe wrap it was missing cheese and sauce, we had just placed our order, WHEN WE WERE SHARPLY TOLD PLACE YOUR MENU BACK ON THE WALL BY A REALLY RUDE MAN!. I don't pay for a meal to be told where to put my menu, and the reason it was not on the wall is because I was looking at desserts! The food was basic at best and missing items, When we went to pay we had the same man again, he had forgotten to add the chips to my order so I said and was meet with contempt and attitude for being honest. Such a shame use to be great little Gem of a place. Also my milkshake was all cream and no milkshake :( Also the meal was quite expensive., esp. considering it was not up to par, felt very much ripped off.

Very elementary staff culture. Rude customer service. Food is basic, found a hair in my sandwich!!! The sandwich was not toasted absolutely cold , i was never asked if I want it toasted or no!Also wanted a mayo sauce on the sandwich, as you can see on the picture it’s absolutely dry! At first sight looks busy and we expected something better! Waiting over 25 minutes to get our order, 1 hour more to get served! Would not visit again! I gave two stars just because the ice cream service there is good.

Bad staff attitude, menu not detailed so unsure what to order. Portion of ice cream in milkshake was poor so that just tastes of milk/nothing. Wasnt asked for toppings etc.

Went in for dessert just. When placing order I asked what was the dessert of the day as it is listed on menu staff member was very rude with his response and told me that don't do things like that and to just pick something that's on the menu so I picked the chocolate muffin and fresh cream, the chocolate muffin was so so dry and the fresh crea was far from fresh and is clearly just tinned cream. Staff need to check there manners because at the end of the day no customers no money it's simple and maybe If yous aren't providing an option you should just take it off the menu completely.

I never leave reviews but I felt that on this occasion fore-warning was warranted. I feel very generous leaving a one star review after my experience but there was no option for zero or half stars. If reviewing staff attitude alone this place would be in minus territory. The staff were both incompetent and rude, and unapologetic about it. I had to stand at entrance and wait 15 minutes to be seated in a cafe with only 2 small groups in it. A further half hour elapsed, during which 5 other groups were seated and had their orders collected before my group of 4. When I flagged down staff to place an order I received not so much as an apology and was told I was wrong and hadn't been here as long. During this time 2 of the later groups were served their food and I was told I could be waiting a while as they were now busy. My wife ordered ice-cream and was told her flavours were not available and to order differently, which she did. Whilst waiting for our order we checked the ice cream stand and all flavours were present. When asked if the order could be amended we were again told we were wrong, the ice cream was unavailable, and that the waitress has checked. The food was exceptionally good and the only redemptive feature of the experience, but honestly, not worth the hassel. If the company didn't want my money they just had to say so. I would advise management to review their staff if they want their business to survive. Here's a photo of an empty table. You'll be looking at it for a while, as well as the food when it arrived an hour and a half later.

Delicious food, the Sundae's and crepe's have a lot of eating in them so we shared them amongst 5 of us and it was the perfect amount along with a mocha. Beautiful location looking out on Newcastle main street and up at Slieve Donard and Commedagh. Highly recommend after a long hike to finish off your evening here.

Don't order delivery. Chips and chicken for my kids was a Soggy mess. Only redemption is the quality of the milkshake and ice cream. NEVER order from somewhere that uses berseys as their delivery

Been going to Maud's for 20 years. Always was a great place for a sandwich or ice cream! But more now with table service resumed after years because of Covid. Please consider keeping table service and payment upon ordering when Covid restrictions come down. Oh and big fan of the plant-based ice-cream and veg options, fantastic to see and avail of, thanks

Never complain about food but we waited an hour before getting our tea and before they realised they had mixed up (forgot) our order. A further 15 mins before the food arrived. Would come alot to Mauds but won't be in a rush back at all.

Mauds food is lovely and so is there coffee always busy you might have to wait not 2 long thow but definitely worth the wait

So disappointing. We have been 3 times in the last year and been disappointed every time. First time the waitress was very rude, second time we waited an hour for food, today the man serving was again very rude and the ice cream hardly made it over the top of the cone!

Spent over £7 on drinks and they forgot them, over 30 minute wait for takeaway, they don’t answer the phone and app doesn’t work for collection. Food was ok but not worth the hassle. Would not recommend.

Without a doubt the best food & service you will get in the whole town! I go here at least twice a week for a Takeout lunch and the food is unbelievable every time! Their Pannis & famous smokey joe wrap are my personal favourite... let’s not even mention the desert menuFavourite place for food in Enniskillen! Great location too & the staff are so lovely and accommodating.

I’ve been visiting Cafe Mauds in Enniskillen for years and although I now live in Belfast it’s a firm favourite to visit when I’m home catching up with family. We got a large takeaway at the weekend for the whole family including pizzas, Smokey Joe wraps (my absolute favourite), salads, bacon and parmesan garlic fries (delicious), thick shakes, coffees and desserts. Everything was perfect, food was steaming hot and tasty and even though it was a takeaway it was all nicely packaged and presented. We ordered on the app which was quick and easy to use and the collection of our order was seamless. Thank you Mauds you never disappoint. Will definitely be back on my next visit home.

Ordered for takeaway, the order completely wrong and what was right was well below standard. Spoke to staff member about the order being wrong and was given greeted with a shrug and something muttered under their breath, would avoid this place at all costs, I’m all for supporting local businesses especially now but this place doesn’t deserve your custom!

Met up with family for a wee treat in Maud's. Such a delight. Food was beautiful and wee girl serving us was so helpful. Nothing any bother to her. And desert was such a treat, we returned for the take away this week. The aftwe8 Brownie was delicious.Will definitely be back.

Called in on way home from a days fishing. Food was lovely and obvly very fresh as it was pippin hot. Will definitely call in again next time I'm local to it. Ordered a "smokey Joe" and it was absolutely beautiful. It was so good I actually taking the time out to write a review which I would never do!!

Hadn’t visited mauds in years as I’ve worked away, went for the smokey joe wrap it was delicious. Great quality food and service. Dessert still as good as ever.

The lady serving couldn't understand us. There were three of us. I wanted something gluten free. She kept on saying " gluten free coffee". She asked was that it. I said that's me. She walked off and ignored my colleagues. I had to call her back. She wanted to know were we together. We were sitting together. I give up

Food was good. Customer service was shocking by the person that sorted the table, she was oblivious to everything going on around her. And doesn't know how to interact. Terrible atmosphere. Although the blonde girl that was working this afternoon was great! Won't be paying that money again to be treated so poorly.

A clean cafe with hand sanitiser at the door. The staff were not particularly welcoming. The young guy serving us was fairly curt in telling us they don't serve breakfast on Sundays at all - no explanation given. This was a shame as their breakfast options looked quite good and it was well before their usual midday cut-off for serving these items. We were hungry so stayed anyway and had to make do with the lunch menu to start our day. 30 minutes later we see another table being served breakfast! Go figure. Also, they ask you to pay up front after ordering even when you're sitting in. The food itself was basic but hot, it's the service that's really disappointing.

Went to mauds waiting nerly an hour and a half for our food didn’t get our drinks people that came in after us got served first ordered a takeaway desert waited 45 minutes on it they forgot about us left the food sitting on the counter and handed it to us I asked for new deserts she warmed them up in the microwave and handed it back worse service ive ever seen was my first time there and will definitely be my last..

My 9 year old niece & I went here for lunch last sat as we always do when I’m in Fermanagh visiting family. The food is lovely & very reasonably priced. We had to wait quite a while at the chain when we arrived which was fine & expected but not once were we acknowledged by any staff member who were in very close proximity & at times lifted the chain off to let others leave. We were eventually offered a table that I knew hadn’t been cleaned after the previous folk left & when I pointed this out we were left standing for another while before being asked to sit at another table. When our order was being taken the waitress leant over me very close & she had no PPE on, rather uncomfortable. I had asked for a glass of water which didn’t arrive & it was very difficult to get any staff members attention. When we finished our meal I waited for our dishes to be lifted so I could ask for my nieces ice cream (as part of the kids meal) & eventually I caught the attention of someone only to be told very abruptly & rudely that we could get this at the counter on our way out. I asked him to repeat this which he did adding that we had 45 mins at the table. I pointed out that at another table the children had got theirs in a tub to be told - get it at the counter on your way out. My niece was very confused & wondered why she had to eat her ice cream outside. There is a notice inside the door about changes they have made due to COVID but apart from screens between tables I didn’t witness anything else. As said above, the staff were not wearing any PPE & there was no social distancing in place. I was also perturbed to witness staff cleaning tables with the same cloth they used to clean the seats/chairs. The staff seem to spend a lot of time busy looking busy & in effect chasing their tails. Overall not a nice experience & I will not be eating there again in the future.

Brandon was very polite and is a credit to you. Got off to a bad start as we ordered through the app but didnt get our 50% off but he quickly rectified this and was extremely apologetic. Lovely food and would recommend. My son and me loves your milkshakes lol

I was in Mauds today for lunch with a friend. We both ordered water expecting tap water to arrive. When bottles were brought to us I told the waitress this wasn't what we wanted,the waitress replied 'you're only paying 50%' as if this meant it was OK to get our order incorrect and for us to pay more money. My friend then thought we were getting no where so she tapped her card to pay, the waitress then said 'sure you have paid for it now'. She did then offer a refund, but with such rude treatment our lunch was ruined refund or no refund.

I wouldn’t normally leave a review but on a rainy night, we arrived at 7.10pm (last orders 7.30pm, shop open until 8pm according to the signage).We were told we had no chance of getting a table tonight. We asked if we could get ice cream to takeaway and were told it would be a 45 minute wait by the long haired gentleman.A group of four left a couple of minutes later and said “we’re just leaving, you could take our table”. We debated whether we should check if we could have the table given the attitude of the man previously.We took the risk and were told no, they’re full, turning the three of us away and another group of three arriving for takeaway ice cream.Have rarely experienced staff who are so keen to deter customers. Very disappointing.

Its not mauds its mullins ice cream

Have ordered from Mauds online a few times, previously via Just Eat and the order was often incorrect e.g. plain garlic bread when we had paid for cheesy garlic bread. They now have their own app which we have used twice and each time something is wrong with the order e.g ordered a panani but got a wrap, selected sauce wasnt on the food etc. Its very disappointing and the food is just ok. This has happened too many times and I would be very reluctant to order from Mauds again.Havent ate in the cafe for a while but in the past the service has been extremely slow, waited 20 mins for a table (fair enough) but then waited 45 mins for our food to be served after ordering.

Had to queue due to it being busy but did not wait too long. Friendly staff although they did mix up our order a couple of times which was disappointing but not disasterous. Very reasonable pricing and the food that did arrive was good. Excellent anti-Covid measures in place.

Order was placed via their app however it wasn’t correct when I arrived home. I therefore called to express my dissatisfaction as this was the second time this had happened, I wasn’t rude nor abusive but explained that I wouldn’t be ordering there again. Approx 10 minutes later I received a call from a man identifying himself as the owner of Cafe Mauds, I’d asked for his name on a couple of occasions and was met with the response “Do you really need to know that” despite him calling me he wouldn’t give this information. He did however accuse me of “swearing” at a member of staff who took my complaint call and now she was crying, I totally refute that accusation. I’ve worked in customer care for years and am very capable of articulating my point without swearing, I never received an apology only he would investigate which I concur with as clearly there’s a very dishonest member of staff. I subsequently contacted the owner for an apology for the distress caused only to be met with a barrage of abuse and a further accusation of making another member of staff cry on the street a few days ago when in fact I was working from home and haven’t been near his premises in a number of weeks, so I’d like a look at that CCTV footage of this supposed incident. I’d recommend avoiding this eatery, staff are willing to lie to save themselves maybe that’s an effect of their working conditions but the owner certainly can’t take criticism. I’m seeking legal advice for defamation of character.

Poor service, waiting 10 minutes after ringing bell and was seen twice by staff which didn't service us. Left without purchasing

I placed an order with Mauds for their new takeaway service and collected it on Saturday for two litre tubs and a scoop your own kit. I was shocked when I got home to see these “litre” tubs were actually only large tubs as I have previously purchased both from Mauds before. The large tubs previously were £4 something but I paid £6.75 each for the “litre” tubs and £9.95 for the scoop your own, which both were actually only the size of large tubs. I rang on Sunday and was told to ring back on Monday to speak to the manger. I rang today and the way I was spoke to by the so call “manager of 11 years” was absolutely disgusting! She was patronising, rude and did not want to listen to what I had to say. Apparently the tubs has changed for “over a year” because of plastic and saving the environment, however, the tubs that I received did not have a litre of ice cream as they were weighed with scales! I stated this and was told to come down to mauds and she would show me the ice cream poured into a jug to prove it was a litre. My evidence from home scales obviously wasn’t enough, she was sarcastic and rude throughout the call! I will never, ever step my foot back into Mauds, they didn’t even have the manners to deal with my complaint correctly or offer some form of refund after spending £25 on icecream!! Do not waste your money on this Cafè, they do not deserve the business!! DISGUSTING.

If I could give a minus 1million I would!! Rang mauds to order a take out dessert, as the state they do take outs!! When I rang and stated what I want they just hung up!! This isn't the first time they have done this! Rang back again and they hung up again! Why state a service when you clearly don't want to provide it!!! Absolutely disgusting!!!!

The food was great, but the delivery was poor. The delivery guy was apparently knocking on my door for five minutes before leaving as I didn't answer. If that was the case, I (and the dog for that matter) would have heard him, especially if he rang the doorbell. There's no way I would have missed that. I had to phone them and re-arrange delivery. I was then charged extra for the re-delivery. Terrible service! Shame because the food was very nice.

I live in Co Fermanagh and often come in on a Saturday with my children for a treat to Cafe Mauds. I find the food really good, the service excellent and lovely, wonderful, efficient staff. Nothing to complain on this side of things, therefore my overall review reflects this rating. My disappointment however, is that I have seen the owner speaking rudely to his staff and not showing them the resepct they deserve. It is quite offputting for a customer to have to experience this. Furthermore, when I ordered my food, I happened to ask if I could add a gratuity onto my bank card only to be told by one of the waiting staff that there was 'no point' given the fact the owner retains 'all tips for himself' and that staff do not receive any gratuities whatsoever!Needless to say, I was shocked and feel it hard to believe that anyone could do such a thing and treat their employees in such a way? I have also read some of the owners previous responses to client reviews and I am sure to expect a similar and arrogant response. Nothing however, will justify the unappreciative act of not 'sharing' what is due to your team.

Lovely little spot for breakfast or lunch. Can get busy so be prepared to queue but it is really worth it. Breakfast was all great, fantastic selection of healthy options as well as some amazing fresh, homemade cakes. Lunch menu caters for everyone and includes hot food as well as lovely sandwiches and wraps. Don’t leave without getting some ice cream- best around!

Order was 40 minutes late and they missed out one persons order and said they would redeliver it in 5 minutes half an hour later it still hadn't arrived. Food was not overly that hot either.

Outstanding! If you are looking for something different in a takeaway then you have found it. Food was delicious, fresh and very reasonably priced for what you get. Added bonus was you can order dessert! Highly reccomend you try this at least once, you will not be dissapointed.
