I try to come here once a month to set myself up for a busy day with one of their wonderful breakfasts! It's always cooked lovely and fresh with good portion sizes and cake for money. The owner is friendly and they have good saver stamp cards due regular eating/drinking. Would definitely recommend!

A brilliant cafe that I'm really pleased we found. Delicious breakfast and frappe. We now go every month when visiting burgess hill and the service and food is always 5 stars. The owner is amazing and always goes above and beyond. Thank you to all the team

Cafe Makara have to be the best rated breakfast dinner and lunch shop in the whole of Burgess Hill. There is nothing I can fault them with - They are always quick, friendly atmosphere when picking up or delivering and good value for money aswell. The highlight of their menu is the chicken burrito wrap with chips chilli sauce and garlic mayo 😋

Well cooked and well presented food with friendly service and an excellent menu. Only a small place with a few tables so be quick!

Great, traditional, family run, wholesome, kid friendly, good value, open all hours, good & properly cooked food (not rushed like most breakfasts are), AMAZING Turkish coffee, delivery service, genuinely lovely staff, always warm and comfortable... what more could you want!!?? 👌🏼 We've started going here quite regularly and to be honest don't take any notice the bad reviews there's always some moaner out there who's had a one off issue and not dealt with it very well! The peeps at Makara genuinely care and will go above and beyond to make sure you have a good experience! It's not a chain, it's their business so they're invested in it and it shows.

Absolutely gorgeous food. Everything was cooked perfectly, not a single negative thing to say. The best full English I’ve ever had. This is 100% the spot!! We have been regular customers of Cafe Makara's breakfast deliveries since lockdown. The food is always really tasty and the delivery drivers are always polite and friendly. Would 100% recommend!

Amazing place for breakfast. Have been visiting since it's been open and never disappoints. All the staff are great. Delivery is a good option too when you don't want to move to far in the morning

An amazing cafe! Staff are all very friendly and the food is great. We all went for breakfast and choose between the menu sets for a full English breakfast. Food was very good, very reasonably priced and one of us didn’t like mushrooms so was given the option to change for another item. Couldn’t ask for a better place for breakfast!

We ordered bacon baguettes. Skimpy on the bacon and dry. Disappointing. Not value for money. We will use one of the other nearby cafes from now one.

Avoid this place if you can, they charge so much of a slice of bread (a toast )!!! I think £2.50 it is ridiculous. And the guy at the front always angry never takes his time to get your order

our delivery food never came and they didn’t even update us on it, until we had to call and ask what’s happened with our food, 40 minute after the estimated arrival time. we did not end up getting a refund although we payed 40£ for food that we never got as the staff said they called us to find the house but we never got a call.. extremely unprofessional in catering for customers very disappointed. first and last time ordering from this place.

Food was great, used many times before always been great! Did an order today to pick up! What I ordered on website it said it came with chips but they where not there! For once I did not check order as every time before its always been right and I was in a super rush oh well!

Delivery is terrible. I've had two orders now that took over 2 hours to be delivered. Staff are rude over the phone and won't tell you whether your food has been cooked/out for delivery. I asked for a refund and the staff member hung up. We used to order from here because the food is good but the delivery has become awful. I thought the first time was a one off but now that it's happened twice I'm never ordering from here again.

Great, independent cafe, on all delivery services -- but go to their own website for best service and prices! Good food, great service. Salad boxes are substantial; breakfasts hot and tasty. Recommended.

Absolutely amazing all round! I’ve been here so many times with my partner and we’ve never had a single issue. Food is always hot and tasty. Staff are always polite. Prices are fair. Cafe is always clean each time we have visited. Never had to wait very long for our food. Love it here! Would highly recommend!

Had some decent food from here in the past but today was poor. Bacon fat wasn't cooked, it was white and there was a lot of it, one sausage cut in half and one egg cut in half to fill a baguette is poor value for money.

We use Cafe Makara about once a month when we hold company H&S/Wellbeing meetings, they always deliver on time and everyone really enjoys their food. It means that all the staff are happy to attend the meeting and it gives everyone a chance to interact over a good feed.

I had a Halloumi Wrap for breakfast - how delicious! Perfectly cooked and filling with a super helpful waitress and the orange juice was freshly squeezed and was the best I’d tasted! Going back again and might drag my parents along next time :)

Popped in for breakfast for the first time since moving to burgess hill, many years ago!! Wish I'd popped in sooner as was really good. Best place to go to for breakfast.

For a small cafe in an unassuming location, the place was spotlessly clean, the girls in there were all lovely and the food was good too...would certainly recommend for a snack if you're passing!

Lovely breakfast. We opted for the make your own rather than a set menu and the price worked out well. Offered milk alternative (oat and soy). All very, very tasty with a friendly service. I will definitely be returning to get my fry up fix.

Ordered a takeaway for lunch. Tuna and cheese baguette had plenty of filling with salad as requested. Chips could have been warmer, vanilla milkshake just meh. Arrived within 30 minutes. For what it is, value was reasonable - convenient local free delivery.

Absolutely gutted. Went for what was meant to be a lovely afternoon lunch out with friend, the facilities were repulsive put me off my lunch completely. As well as that me and my friend were made to feel very uncomfortable whilst there. Would not recommend!

food was alright but there was a hair in my food and i witnessed the way they spoke to their waitresses is absolutely disgusting and completely imoral i wouldn't go there again out of principal if thats the way they speak to their staff inforont of customers i cant imagine how they speak to them behind closed doors

I went there for breakfast on a Wednesday at 10:00 am and didn’t even receive my food until 10:54am meanwhile seeing people had come in after me being served their food, as well as that I got given one strip of bacon for an English breakfast. Will not be returning to this establishment as value for money is not there nor is any type of friendly customer service. Not happy!

Would leave one star if I could. Actually have no words for how disappointed I am. I would rather go through a car crash than come back here.

Shouldnt take 30 mins to cook bacon & eggs very painfull to watch but the food does taste very nice, is a shame tobe letdown by waiting times
