Cafe Le Monde in South Ayrshire

Been in many food places ie small independent cafes and most don’t really do it for me. This place is such a breath of fresh air. Food is high quality and service is always great too. Would highly recommend the soups or the filled rolls.

Roll not buttered sausage overcooked. Not edible. Service slow. Waitress argued about butter on roll although you could see there was none. Very disappointing

Came to Ayr and had time to relax before traveling to next location. Found Cafe Le Monde and got cappuccinos and some sweet snacks. The coffee and food were amazing and staff could not have been more friendly. If in Ayr I would make every effort to swing by and have some morning or afternoon coffee and treats. You may find yourself ordering second helpings. Regardless, there will be no regrets for having stopped by, even if you had to go out of your way to find it.

Stopped by Ayr while on a British Isles cruise on Princess Cruise line. Googled coffee shops in Ayr and Cafe Le Monde was one of the selections. My wife and I got an Apple snack, carrot cake, and cappuccino. Everything was fantastic and give Cafe Le Monde top marks for every aspect of quality of food and service. If in Ayr, don’t miss stopping by here, there will be no regrets.

Wonderful spot for coffee, breakfast, smoothies or lunch. Superior coffee. Recommend the mocha, flat white or caramel macchiato. Friendly staff.

We wandered around Ayr for sometime looking for a late lunch that wasn't a pub or fast food. Then we spotted Cafe Le Monde in a pretty and quiet side street. The panini were excellent. Great service amd a really friendly atmosphere. There's a good amount of seats outside too and more planned for summer. Everyone is made to feel really welcome at this family run café

This lovely little place does the best soup. Staff are lovely and the food is so fresh. Great place to meet a friend as there is no loud music.

Friday September 16th,. Lunchtime, gave me the wrong order, sandwiches were nice and coffee's ok but staff left a lot to be desired. Never again.

I visited this cafe on Wednesday, upon entering, was met by the owner, who moved 2 tables together, so our family could sit down. The staff were polite, helpfull and nothing was to much trouble, 100% amazing staffing. The staff took our order and answered question we had, in a professional way. The food was fantastic, in fact our sandwiches were so full, we could not finish them, the food was well presented as well. What more can I say about this cafe, which is just of the main street, in a pleasent side street... Would I recommend this cafe.... yes 100%, would I revisit this cafe.... yes 100%, in fact am looking forward to the next time.

I have been here many times before and have always enjoyed. My daughter and I ordered 2 coffees, 1 decaf and 1 normal. The coffees arrived and I asked if one was decaf and No it wasn't. My daughter only drinks decaf at present is she is expecting a baby. There were 2 unwrapped biscuits with the coffees, these had obviously been handled and we are still abiding by Covid rules I thought this was poor.

I had a blt roll with a coffee and was great. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. I would highly recommend.

My friend and I visited this café, as the usual place I go to was closed I had a bacon toastie, and my friend had a roll and slice My bacon was a wee bit crispy for my liking but I didn't say how I liked my bacon so no one's at fault there🤣 I will definitely be back, as my toastie was delicious I'm on a slimming world diet, and one of these requirements is that I can eat bacon with visible fat on it so it has to be cut off, I also can't eat white bread as it has a lot of calories. the waitress had no problems with meeting these requirements

I was visiting from the west country and found this lovely cafe just behind the main shops , I a nice quiet part of town with excellent service varied menu to suit all the food was lovely to compliment the service highly recommended

What a pleasant change to be greeted by a smiling and helpful host. The food is good value if you are long for a toastie, panini or toast potato. There are fancier cafes with for more creative meals on the menu around but I can’t fault this establishment for delivering what they promise. Good, fast friendly service and a reasonable price. Good coffee too.

Have been here a few times in the past with no problems. Today we went ordered 1 coffee, 1 tea and two turkey and brie Panini's. after waiting 10 minutes for the menu. After further 10 minutes empty cup for tea arrived no tea itself though, 10 minutes later asked when we would be served, was just snapped at by staff that they were busy another 10 minutes passed so decided to go elsewhere. The woman that was working just snapped/shouted at us that food is cooked fresh so go elsewhere if you want to eat in 5 minutes. during the time we were waiting she was rude to another customer who went elsewhere. Also stood and watched an old lady struggle to move the barrier. This is unacceptable to me as 30 minutes and had not even been served a drink is ridiculous or will it take 30 minutes for 2 Panini's

We were on holiday,looking for a really nice coffee shop. We spotted this one, I am in a wheelchair so they cleaned the table they offered us. The table and chair my husband sat in, it felt very safe lots of space between tables. The food was delicious. Highly recommended.

Found here on arriving in Ayr. Great little spot with a good selection of hot and cold food. My husband and I opted for toasted paninis and cups of tea. Staff were pleasant and helpful and the restaurant was clean and light. Worth a visit!

Many of the coffee options in Ayr were closed when we visited on a Wednesday morning in mid June, so we had coffee here. We waited about 5 minutes outside before being seated. The waitress brought menus and asked if we had logged into Test & Protect (we hadn’t but had the phone at the ready). She said she’d get the terminal but this never materialised. No one else seemed to be logged in either. Other cafes we have been to have been eager to get us to logon. After a further 5+ minutes, our order was taken - a large latte and a medium cappuccino. What arrived was 2 coffees the same size that were both very weak and in a blind taste, you would be pushed to know it was coffee. The froth on the cappuccino had almost disappeared by the time the drink arrived. Most cafes want card only payments, but there is a minimum £10 spend here. The 2 coffees were over £6, so not only the worst of our trip, but also the most expensive. I am surprised it’s rated so highly. I wouldn’t return.

Wonderfully warm and welcoming. The staff are just the best and so is the coffee. Cannot recommend Cafe Le Monde highly enough.

Very nice but service was a little slow

My husband I are visiting the area and popped in for a coffee. Along with the coffee we had a toastie and scone and fruit slice. Everything was delicious.The cafe was immaculate and the staff were lovely.

Such a cute little cafe in Ayr, serving great freshly cooked food. We had tomato soup which was beautiful, fresh and flavoursome. The mac and cheese was just out of this world, cooked to perfection with a really cheesy sauce. It was served with a tasty little salad and lovely garlic bread. My only little niggle is that the 2 waitresses had their noses out of the masks they were wearing, which is very irritating as they get quite close when taking orders or serving. This is quite unacceptable for any professional establishment and although we loved the food and would like to eat here again, we would leave the premises if next time we see the waitresses not wearing their masks properly.

Had a nice lunch today and the folks were very friendly and welcoming.

Tasty Bacon and Egg Roll with superb coffee served by lovely owners Karen and Nino and their friendly staff Kimberley and Nicky. Always welcoming and treat their customers well with good chat whilst very much looking after everyone's safety during the virus under challenging circumstances for space and social distancing. My wife and I have been regular customers at Cafe Le Monde since we returned to Scotland last year. The first thing to say is that the staff are very friendly and professional, and provide very efficient service. COVID19 arrangements are very thorough. The coffee is the best in town and the cakes are great. This is our regular coffee stop in Ayr town centre and will continue to be so. Highly recommended.

Our visit began with waiting 10 minutes to be acknowledged and seated. After being rudely acknowledged and sat at a dirty table, we were given menus and then ignored for another 10 minutes. Another rude member of staff then came to tell us we had to be wait to be seated - which we had. After ordering, I was given the wrong drink. My girlfriends coffee arrived 15 minutes later. Both my glass and her mug were disgustingly dirty. During this time, there was no social distancing between tables. A customer was asked to move to the table beside us - less than 30cm away. The bill then took 15+ minutes to arrive and I was told I should know for next time they have a £10 minimum spend for card payments. Worst experience ever. Total breach of all Covid rules and abysmal service with all three staff spoken to being very rude.

Friendly, welcoming cafe. Both had great food (macaroni cheese, chicken and bacon panini), very reasonasonable price, good size portions. Really enjoyed our lunch!

One this street there are a few cafe's to choose from. But for us this was the best!We have Celia sufferer in the family and thank you to the cafe next door who could not help with this. Cafe le Monde were very friendly and able to help with their menu. To top it all the was fresh in both taste and visually.Not going to through what we had.This place is worth a visit.Five Star from me.

Beautiful cafe with a variable menu and a cafe full of personality with great staff. Visit this cafe each time I am down in Ayr. My favourite is the macaroni cheese which was just delightful and is a must try when you visit this place. The staff were just as delightful talking to the customers and making them feel welcome. Great food, great staff and great service. Defo 5* from me

This is a small cafe it seats about 25 to 30 people. The chef is really good and the food is always cooked well and tastes great. The couple who own it are really friendly and always have a cheery and welcoming smile.

I always enjoy my visits to Cafe Le Monde. The staff are friendly and helpful, and my favourite, fried egg roll with tea, is always lovely.

On a day trip to Ayr myself and a group of friends found this Cafe unexpectedly. We were welcomed in , but being busy we were asked to wait a few moments until a suitable table was cleared and set up. The menu contained a good variety of dishes and was very competitively priced. We all enjoyed our food and said that we would return when we visit Ayr again

Visited here recently on a family holiday, the food was excellent and the service was very friendly. We spoke to the owner who made us feel right at home and who was a very nice man. Would highly recommend.

We don't visit Ayr too often, we live 25 miles away, but anytime we do we have a coffee break in Le Monde, our favourite coffee shop in Ayr. The owners, Nino and Karen, are always very pleasant and chatty, serving coffee 'just as you like it', delicious baking and lunches, wouldn't go anywhere else. Keep up the good work!

Best place for a good coffee with a little piece of tirimasu on the side. Everyone's so pleasant as they work away service is spot on. Busy but your not waiting long for your order. I was surprised by the prices I expected it to be over a fiver but I was wrong. My cappuccino and tirimasu was the happy side of a fiver. Even if like me your on your own go in and spoil yourself.

Use Cafe Le Monde on a regular basis and the comment made on this page is so untrue. Absolutely no way would anyone be treated like this and I’d say it’s jealousy on the part of the eatery next door and they have had someone put this on. Utterly disgusting, and l feel so bad on behalf of Karen and Nino that someone would stoop so low.

Regular in this coffee shop for many years, owners and staff are professional and very friendly, often take my autistic son and they are great and can't do enough to help, food is lovely and coffee is superb. Can't recommend them highly enough

This place is over priced the owners are arrogant and flung autistic boy out banned him for rocking he is horrible man took it upon himself to help in verbal attack against customer for using the polish coffee shop his coffee is out jar and complete horrible place to dine or even go

Visited today and the service is excellent, especially from the owner and the cafe has a nice family feel to it. The menu has a good selection of items to choose from but soup and a sandwich deal at nearly 10 pound seems a bit pricey to me. The food was of excellent quality however with homemade coleslaw and dressing for the salad, which was a little too sweet for me but to others I am sure it would suit there tastes. An enjoyable meal and great service but the prices were a little high, considering a number of outlets close offer 2 courses for a tenner and what I ordered came to 9.60 for a sandwich and a drink. Would visit again based on the service but would order from the breakfast selection as it’s much cheaper.

Enjoyed me a delicious wrap (Cheese & Pickles) and a wonderful cup of coffee ... and the friendliest people!

This is a great cafe where the staff are very welcoming and friendly,giving excellent service. My Mum and I had delicious toasties with tasty salad and awesome home made coleslaw. Next time we will try the cakes as they looked fresh and tempting in the cabinet. We highly recomend this place in Newmarket St for lunch.

My wife and I dropped in this morning and had hot filled rolls. Traditional bacon and a sliced sausage roll. Well cooked and tasty. The Americano coffee is delicious. First class service by friendly team.

Popped in today for a quick bite. Choose the pea & ham soup and wasn't disappointed. Lovely piping hot soup and very generous portion. Now know where to go for ears next time in Ayr.

Cafe le Monde was a great find when we visited Ayr today. The owner, Nino, is the nicest cafe owner you could hope to meet. Friendly, professional and very humble. The dining area is clean and fresh with indoor and outdoor seating. Around the cafe there are photos of Nino receiving awards for best cafe in Scotland and rubbing shoulders with celebrities plus photos of his former race horse. The food we had, turkey-Brie and cranberry panini and a Tuna melt panini were both served with salad and coleslaw and were very tasty. Our tea for two was topped up with fresh water and another tea bag. It was a real pleasure watching and listening to Nino interact with his customers most of whom are regulars. If only Cafe le Monde was closer to home. It would become a regular place to visit.

This was an unexpected find in Ayr. We got there shortly before closing but still got a nice welcome. Lovely coffee and wraps. The weather was kind so we took advantage and sat outside. The owner has some lovely plants and flowers outside making it a pleasant experience.

If in Ayr and you want a quick bite to eat or a coffee/tea and a bun then you need to visit this place. You are treated as a friend from the moment you walk in to the moment you leave eve n if you are spending a couple of pound on a drink or sitting in to eat the gloriously delicious food, especially the homemade coleslaw. One of the best cafe's in Britain never mind Scotland.

With many alternative venues in the area I consistently return to Café Le Monde because of the warm and friendly welcome afforded by Nino and Karen, the proprietors. The lay-out, the cleanliness and the quality of food makes this a superb café. The fact that there is a regular clientele confirms that this is the favoured place of many locals as well as visitors from near and far,.

A real old fashioned local cafe, not some soulless chain. The owners are really friendly and provide an excellent service. We visit here whenever in Ayr, usually for a breakfast roll, which are freshly made using quality ingredients. The coffee is great, made to suit individual taste. A real gem of a place.
