Lovely food staff and ambiance.

Lovely staff and service, food was ok at best.

The service and atmosphere are great. Can’t say the same about the food unfortunately. Scone was extremely crumbly and old. Couldn’t eat it. The full scottish breakfast had a raw egg. I’m not talking about the yolk :/

They didn't have gluten-free bread options but they offered me spectacular crispy potatoes much better than gluten-free bread. The girl was very kind and nice. I recommend.

My latte came with a hair on top. We ordered two dishes with avocado and both came with inedible avocados. They apologized but didn’t offer to take the price off the bill. People shouldn’t have to pay for food they cannot eat. The waitress was cold and unaccommodating. The egg and cheese on the morning roll I had was decent otherwise.

A nice place where you can eat a good breakfast and drink a nice coffee

We had breakfast here twice during a short stay in Edinburgh. A cute little cafe, with not very many seats. The coffee was wonderful and our food also tasted very good. Service was quick and very friendly. Prices are local.

We came for our breakfast and the staff was really lovely. We had shakshuka and smoke salmon, avocado and poached eggs. The portion was quite small but the price was affordable so that was great. We sat on the second floor and it was with the same level with the decoration on the ceiling which needed a bit of cleaning.

The staff was very nice. Good breakfast, sadly mine took a very loooong time to be served. They were overwhelmed..

We were visiting from germany and found this sweet cafè! The service was lovely and the food was very good. Would recommend!

Excellent wraps, grilled and yummy!! Prices for takeout are super reasonable, sitting in is almost double, but I can't recommend enough getting it to go!!

Really nice place, we chose this one cause it was near our accommodation. They were fast and friendly and the food was great.

Full breakfast was good. Egg Benedict is a little bit sour probably because of the hollandaise sauce was not seasoned with enough salt. The coffee was good though. Small place, very good service.

Went in with family and had most of the things on the breakfast menu. Everything was cooked to perfection! The pancakes are the best we had in a while. Our lovely server made our experience even better with her energy. Visiting the city for just 3 days and considering coming here for our last day as well :)))

This café is in a handy central location, and service was quite prompt. Unfortunately the food itself wasn't great - in particular, the shakshuka was a very small portion of undercooked vegetables in a watery sauce (and served with just half a slice of bread), and prices were high for the quality.

Great Scottish breakfast, the staff were very friendly and loved the Turkish twist with some borek!

The cafe was easy to find and had a relaxed feel about. The cafe itself was busy no matter if you went in the early morning or around brunch. The service staff were great to talk to and interact with and service was prompt. The lattes are great and the menu has a variety of breakfast staples and unique flavors to try if you’re just visiting town for a couple of days.

An absolute rip off! £3 for a breakfast roll before you add a filling?!?!?! Then £1.20 a filling. So a black pudding and tattie scone roll is £5.40. Lorne sausage and egg roll the same, bro had egg, sausage bacon fire £6.60. At least that's what I got charged. Staff don't know what is black pudding and what is haggis. I do. I ordered one and got the other. Mentioned it and the waitress offered to change it but I didn't give that much of a thought - accidents happen but then the chef and manager told me I was wrong and that I had been served black pudding. If that was black pudding it was more barley than blood. Now I've had Charlie Barley black pudding from Stornoway but this was not that. £3+ for concentrated apple juice too. Asked for water as well, never arrived. Not recommended. The opposite of happy in fact.

Delicious veggie breakfast - returned 3 days in a row. Coffee and tea great too. Husband enjoyed his breakfast baps with choice of fillings. Very friendly staff and great quality food. Highly recommend

I seriously cannot say enough good things about this place! The food was incredible, everything was cooked perfectly everytime we went in. The service was wonderful, the owner was so friendly! We will definitely go again when we visit Edinburgh again.

Food was good, but the portion sizes for some of our meals felt small. Service was friendly, and the restaurant has both indoor and outdoor eating options, as well as a cleverly-integrated second level. Coffee is good but not great (including the turmeric latte), and the smoothies are refreshing.

Such a lovely and cosy place to enjoy your breakfasts. Not like most cafés, it was already open at 8AMy which we really appreciated as we tend to get up early. The full Scottish breakfast was a delight. Everything was just perfect.

Cooked breakfast was fantastic, great taste and great portion. The pancakes tasted good, but was quite a small portion, not great value. Otherwise, great cafe.

The food here was really top quality. I ordered a veggie breakfast as pictured. The hash browns had bits of chive in which really added an extra dimension of flavour whilst the sourdough bread had a lovely crunch to it. Every component was cooked to perfection, however I believe the portion sizes could be slightly larger - when ordering a breakfast I imagined more than one sausage. This being said, I have no complaints about the quality of the food or the service. The waiting staff were very friendly and it was a comfortable and relaxed environment. I would return despite the portions.

Overall the service was slow. If you have plenty of time to wait it's fine, otherwise it could be a pain. It took 35 minutes for our food to arrive. Coffee came before the food, and it was great. However, the egg Benedict was a bit sour, a taste of vinegar. Also the inside of the café was a bit untidy, with random things piled up under the staircase. But of course it's a bit cheaper than other cafés, if it is what you are looking for.

The best Breakfast i will visit again

Went in a few weeks ago for breakfast and was quite disappointed. I asked to swap out streaky bacon for ham (which is used in other menu items) in the eggs benedict and was told the chef won't make anything 'off menu'. I ordered pancakes and was delivered three of the smallest pancakes I've seen (10cm diameter at a guess) with half a banana chopped on top. Couldn't believe the portion size for how much it cost. The tropical smoothie also just tasted like orange juice, even though that wasn't listed as an ingredient. My partner had a cooked breakfast which he said was fine but my meal was extremely disappointing so I wouldn't return or recommend.

Highly recommend Cafe Elmrow. Went there for lunch today and had excellent food and fantastic service from lovely friendly staff. Stayed longer than we intended as atmosphere was so welcoming. Good quality food at very reasonable price. Delivered to table very quickly. Peanut butter chocolate brownies so good we bought 2 to take away with us. Will definitely go back there very soon.

Superb full Scottish breakfast. Black pudding was very well seasoned, delicious sourdough bread. Perfectly fried egg and real teas! Loved it!!!

I had eggs, salmon and avocado and avocado wasn’t very ripe and the eggs were over cooked and salmon was not very fresh. The sourdough was also mediocre. Very nice service though

Great little cafe for a good cappuccino.

Fair breakfast place with great service. Coffee was definitely the weak link - way too bitter and, if you are used to single origin medium roast, it tasted burned. Full breakfast was OK but I would not recommend Shakshouka.

This is clearly a restaurant whose chef cares about food. The presentation was great and the value was outstanding. Best experience I've had here by far.

Severely overpriced morning roll. £3 for a plain roll, £2.4 per each additional topping. Recently changed menu and prices are unclear. Won’t be returning. A few months ago you got £3 for a roll that included 1 toping

Horrible service, the place was not even busy. Waited over 40 min for food. Coffee and food were mediocre at best. The price is average but the quality you get is very underwhelming.

I went to Cafe Elmrow for the first time a few days ago. The atmosphere was relaxed and the staff were very friendly and welcoming! My friend and I went there for coffee and brunch and we were very happy with everything! I had a double espresso, a croque madame, an orange juice and the oreo shortbread and I was over the moon! I loved the music and the vibe of the other customers too. I was excited about the layout of the shop. Closing, it was an absolute pleasure to hear the staff having hearty and welcoming chats with the other customers and us and appreciated them checking whether everyone was happy with their food and drinks! Highly recommended!🤩

Das Café ist wirklich einen Besuch wert. Alles ist sehr ordentlich, die Speisekarte ist gut und die Preise sind sehr fair. Wir hatten das full scottish breakfast und Pancakes mit Müsli, es war ausgesprochen lecker. Wir waren auch gleich zwei Mal da.

In Edinburgh for 3 days on vacation and went to Cafè Elmrow every morning for breakfast. Drinks were great and the food was always fantastic. I will definitely go back if I ever find myself in Edinburgh again.

Small but gorgeous little restaurant, they do breakfast all day, but I had the Mezze platter, which was honestly to die for. Will definitely come back again.

The attendant said that there was no tables upstairs for me when I arrived and then she said that had one table free for a group that arrived after me :(

Péssima experiência neste local, o atendimento não é cordial e a comida não é boa! Tinha horário marcado para ver uma atração turística na cidade e quase me atrasei por conta da demora do pedido, ao reclamar com o atendente que precisava ir embora para não me atrasar, o mesmo solicitou que pagasse por tudo mesmo não tendo consumido, sendo que os pratos não tinham sido entregues, portanto, tive que esperar. Demora de mais de 20 min para se fazer um breakfast e mais 10 em ser atendido para se solicitar um simples pedido! Não recomendo este local, sobretudo se você for turista!

We had a nice and peaceful breakfast here. We ordered two vegetarian breakfasts with two black coffees. Everything was tasteful, we enjoyed it. The service was fast and all the staff was very nice to us.

Absolutely lovely little cafe! The hostess is so sweet, the service is excellent and the food was divine! My husband and I tried traditional haggis and blood pudding there for the first time, and were so surprised to have loved it! Thank you for your customer service and delicious food! Highly recommend, but be warned, it is a small cafe that’s quite popular! You may have to wait (totally worth it!)

Absolutely amazing! Everything was delicious. And they were really helpful and extremely kind. They helped us giving our friend a memorable and awesome birthday.

Been there many times that i forget to take pictures every time but this is the most reliable café in Edinburgh, can always count on good food and coffee. The atmosphere is very cozy and warm, the staff is lovely (especially the guy with short brown hair, he was very sweet). Many options on the menu so you can never run out of things to try; my personal favorites are the musli and turkish coffee! A must try!

Great cafe for a coffee & pastry or a full sit down breakfast to fuel up before a day of sight seeing- tried the fruit scone & almond croissant- both out of this world! High praise for the Scottish Salmon with Poached Eggs on Avocado Toast ☺️

the people are nice, the place has a cozy atmosphere and very reasonable prices; however we visited on a Saturday morning and had to wait over an hour for our breakfast to come (not a big order). I can appreciate restaurants can now be a bit under strain so would appreciate if the food will take longer, to give customer a heads up. Apparently the Scottish breakfast is good. We didn’t have that and thought food was just ok.

1. Waiting for 30-40 minutes is normal here. 2. Why are your beans cold? 3. One (!) egg and one (!) sausage in full scottish?

The high rating of 4.7 made us pick this one but were left disappointed! We tried the Salmon Avocado Toast and the Vegetarian Breakfast-Friendly staff but the food couldn’t make up for it sadly. Overall the food is average but not worth the top rating

Lovely place to have breakfast at, these guys can cook and host! It's a small café but it's comfortable and music jazz will accompany your meal. It's very clean (toilet included). 10/10 for sure! Nice prices too! Lovely, I'll come back tomorrow for sure.
