Disappointing, on two counts. The first was that although I said I was eating there (not taking it away), I was still given takeaway crockery including a plastic cup. I NEVER use single-use plastic cups. I either take my own mug, or go without. But also, there was no recycling bin! It was just one dustbin, and people were putting aluminium cans and plastic and rubbish all in together. The second disappointment was that on a blazing hot day, when I thought I would treat myself to a £4 iced coffee... it was barely cold, let alone iced! It was lukewarm, basically. Having said that, the toasted sandwich was nice - they had granary bread, which made it much more substantial and nutritious. The 'salad' was a bit meagre (a few bits of lettuce, tomato, and cucumber) and might better have been called a 'garnish'. The salad was only £1 extra, but really I would rather have paid a bit more and got a bit more. It's really not hard to buy these things these days. A tub of coleslaw from Lidl's would pay for itself with one customer! I went in with such high hopes, as it was a lovely day and a lovely location, but I won't go back. It's just not worth the money.

Really enjoyed our light lunch today. Very pleasant staff, freshly made food and very reasonable prices. And the hot donuts were scrummy!

An ice cream shop that doesn't sell ice cream and closes while staff have fag breaks, what else can I say....

It is a small take away providing teas, coffees, soft drinks, ice creams, sandwiches, crisps etc. It is only open in the summer and only if the weather is good.

We have been there a few times now and have never been let down and of all the Greggs stores we have tried in Dumfries, we find this one the best. The staff are always helpful and the food has always been hot and tasty. We particularly like the chicken and bacon toasties and the bacon baguettes as well as the donuts and apple/cream slices. Both the tea and coffee is again hot and tastes great - its hard to get a good cup of tea in a paper cup but Greggs have achieved it!! Would definitely recommend!

The staff are really helpful and the food tastes just like the stuff i get at school it is a good place for a flying visit and also to grab something to eat while your siblings or children play, it is very suitably located.

Popped in while on a visit to the park with my dauggter and grandson. My grandson is dairy intolerant and we asked if any of the sandwiches were suitable for dairy free diet to be told no sorry they werent they didnt have any suitable and the sand wiches were ready made and packed there seemed no hope of having one freshly made to suit us theres a large sign stating please ask about allergies and intolerance bit i find this rather pointless as when i asked they were still unable to help 🙁

The food served up here is the same as the food served to school students. Has the distinct 'school dinner' feel to it. Expensive and not the best quality. I'd definitely give it a miss

Dockpark has been refurbished and was re-opened in time for Easter 2014. The cafe is now run by Dumfries Council. It is a convenient cafe for the park, with a selection of hot and cold drinks, soup, sandwiches, cakes, biscuits and snacks. But the best part is Meg who is the really helpful lady running the cafe. We turned up 5 minutes before closing time, but she was more than willing to serve us with hot drinks and sandwiches. She was so friendly and helpful, we hope she will stay in post awhile

If your call is diverted to a man with a thick, foreign accent and he invites you another hotel, near the station, do not go under any circumstances.

Popped in for breakfast. 1 vegetarian and 1 Scottish. Plenty choices, great portions, tasty maple syrup pancakes and great service. Maybe a bit pricey at almost £20 but the food was good.

Went for Sunday lunch, it was ok. Plates for the carvery dangerously hot, A HAZARD. Meals were ok. Desserts were nice with a teaspoon of custard. The ice cream was sorbet which if we'd known we wouldn't have bothered with. Would probably go back if in area.

Excellent service with you ordering everything from your table which is very convenient. Good choice of food although children’s menu could be better and there were no pizzas which dissapointed our youngest grandchild. We all enjoyed what we ordered and look forward to calling again soon.

This was our first visit to the Anchor and we will definitely be back. The food was tasty and well cooked. The tempura prawns were crisp and sweet and the haggis bon bons were also in a crisp shell. The Highland Game pie was superb with lots of fresh vegetables. The pasta dish was also good. Service throughout was friendly. Next time we would prefer to be in the room with the open fire as the room we were in lacked a little atmosphere. All in all a successful evening.
