Oh my. This was my first time here, but definitely not my last. EVERYTHING was amazing from food to service to atmosphere.

Acquaint little French restaurant on the second floor in downtown parkville. The food was amazing and Sarah was a fantastic server. The timing on the courses was perfect.

Café de Amis in Parkville, MO, offers a culinary experience that's both elegant and inviting. Starting with the bone marrow salad, each bite was a symphony of flavors, perfectly balanced and exquisitely presented. The rack of lamb was cooked to perfection, tender and succulent, while the quail dish showcased the chef's skillful artistry. The ambiance added to the charm, creating a cozy yet sophisticated atmosphere. A definite gem for those seeking exceptional dining in Parkville.

The little French bistro is located at the top of wooden stairs on a corner with goof signage. It's quaint and lovely. The waitstaff is attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the food and drinks, quick with good recommendations. The food and drinks were perfectly delicious and visually appealing. We received our check with a pleasant surprise, two delicious mini macrons, perfectly al dente. The only negative I can offer is the number of tables in the small room which made conversation difficult, distracting and loud instead of cozy. Perhaps some sound deafening decor would help.

One of the best meals I’ve ever had!

We stopped in for a little nosh while out shopping and the food did not disappoint. The service was not great, but thankfully we enjoyed our food. The wine list was very impressive, but I did not order anything.

Amazing French cuisine! The service was second to none!

Three of us arrived for lunch at 1 pm. The first thing the waiter said was that we should be sure to make our complete order all at once because the kitchen would be closing soon. Only when we tried to order did he say they were out of salmon. Two of us had wanted salmon. We decided to share the Salade Niçoise. I noticed the salmon wasn’t fully cooked. I asked if the salmon was sushi grade. The waiter said that’s how they prepare it- pink in the middle. Well, salmon is pink. I make it myself often. This was undercooked. We both asked for the fish to be more fully cooked. When the two portions came back to the table, I couldn’t tell if I received the same piece back, as it was in pieces and my portion had been one piece. I didn’t want to eat it. I ended up sharing the quiche my friend ordered as it was in two pieces. When we were ready to pay I asked if the restaurant was also out of green beans as there were none on the salad as they were supposed to be. The waiter came back and said the beans were cut up and on the salad. Well- two things. I know this salad is served with whole green beans and I know I didn’t see or eat any beans. Nor did my friend see or eat any on his half. At that point the waiter asked if I wanted to see the menu to verify ingredients. I felt insulted and chagrined that he doubled down to prove to me that I was wrong. I am sorry the restaurant has this waiter. He is not doing them any favors by not apologizing that the meal was less than satisfactory. The bottom line is not to go to this restaurant the day after a holiday - they won’t have the entrees they might need and don’t go at 1 pm when it is an hour from closing.

People were friendly, the place was modern and clean, food was good However the prices were ridiculous… 4 people over $500.00. We won't return. ☘️✌️

A lovely French restaurant in this cute little town! It is located on the second floor so be prepared to walk up a bit. Service is great and our server is polite, professional, and adds a little sense of humor! This restaurant has a great selection for soup of the day which I would recommend trying. My highlight is a special dessert called “Le Louvre chocolate mousse” The presentation and flavor are great!

It’s an incredible place! We’ve been here a few times, and it’s always delicious. We took a larger group here tonight, and everyone loved it. Highly recommend if you are looking for an amazing experience!

Wonderful food & a fun French atmosphere!

I went to this restaurant years ago and often visit the menu on Google to dream about it. The creme brulee was beyond perfect. I also had tapenade and beef filet. I remember the glass of wine was exquisite. Down to the cup of coffee, the flavors were amazing. It was somewhat balmy and we dined at twilight outdoors. It was like sharing a secret.

We just stopped by on our way back from airport. Food options were limited because may be its authentic french place but deserts were really good and I also liked their signature crepe

My brother lives in NC, and has been all over the world. Cafe Des Ami, in his opinion, has the best French food anywhere. The food IS fantastic.

We placed our order for drinks & a cheese & thyme scone & a slice of lemon & lime cake. Our drinks arrived about 10 minutes after we ordered. The food another 30 minutes later. The scone didn't have much taste & the cake was dry.

I had very high expectations of Cafe des Amis for my party of 30. Every aspect of food, service, and atmosphere far exceeded my expectations and those of all my guests.

One of the most wonderful restaurants I’ve ever eaten at. Had the scallops and my fiancé had the rack of lamb. Both were delicious. The owner waited on us himself, and was a wonderful host. Great location, great food, great environment make this a destination spot.

We ordered the scallops and trout for lunch and both were lacking flavor, and the ceiling register vents were filthy dirty, so don’t believe will ever go back there

My new favorite restaurant in Kansas City. Love there wine list and food. Service is top notch and the owners really know how to take care of there guest.

This is my favorite French restaurant, possibly just my favorite restaurant hands down. The owner/co-owner is super entertaining to talk to, and the food it always top notch. They recently did away with the back patio and expanded the inside section to have 2 bathrooms now instead of 1. There are 3 different places to get 3 different experiences here. Inside the older more traditional side, outside on the side patio, and in the new l, more modern section. All great selections to be sure! If you ever find yourself in Parkville and have a craving for fine French food that won't break the bank, Cafe des ami is the spot to be. I'd go there over le frou frog any day.

My wife and I have dined here on several occasions over the years and have always left having had an incredible experience. The staff is very attentive, and Guillaume has never disappointed. We have celebrated many special occasions here and hope to be back for many more!

Amazing food every single time!

Rainy morning in Morpeth, so we called in for a cuppa and cake. Lots of seats available in the front of the cafe and served by a pleasant team member. Lots of cake choices but I opted for Mango & Passionfruit, very good choice. My hubby had his usual tasty scone. Tasty pot of tea and oat milk latte. Love this little cafe, we’re never disappointed.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Lovely to sit in the garden on a sunny morning for coffee and breakfast. Excellent cheese scone, and cheesy muffin consumed. Looked like plenty of regulars there. Friendly staff.

I can’t say enough about this place. Been wanting to go for 3 years and finally had an excuse for my birthday. The wine list is beyond impressive and expertly curated. The menu is exotic and features food unlike anything else you will find in KC. The Prince Edward Island Mussels and Pan-Roasted Quail were incredible as was the crime brûlée and soufflé we had for dessert. This is a wonderful hidden gem in Parkville that I would recommend to anyone.

Great French food, amazing service and relaxing atmosphere.

Cakes - Homemade and great selection. Coffee - Delicious Staff - Friendly even when very busy Menu - Good selection with a few specials on the board also. Recommendations - Soup is always delicious, their salads in the summer and always try either a scone or slice of cake. The cheese and Thyme are always my favourite and the lemon drizzle (sometimes lemon and blueberry i think) is always a hit with me.

We go here often, and it's always superb, in every way. I've been a little shy of reviewing it, since I kind of don't want word to get out and have it get too popular to be available so easily for us. But they deserve it. It's hard for us even to think of going anywhere else in the KC area. Based on our several experiences, I simply don't buy that the few weak reviews are on the level.

Visited once again for a beautiful lunch in the garden. Nice to see the effort that has been put into making the garden look exceptional this year. Food was fantastic as always. Lynn always brightens my day - such a friendly member of staff. Great staff great food great times.

Wow!!!!! This place is awesome. The staff was very helpful, energetic, and very professional. This was only half of a great dining experience for the whole family. We showed up with no reservation and were seated at the bar and couldn't have asked for a better experience. Everyone was more than excited as each plate came out. The mussels were extraordinary, and the wine and meal were top-notch. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Please order the duck confit, it is literally fall off the bone incredible. We also had the chefs special of barramundi and it was a 10/10 too. No complaints. My main tip is to order as soon as you sit down if you do want something specific as an appetizer or dessert because they will run out. We have to go back to try the mussels!

I had high expectation from the review. The atmosphere was amazing, perfect for a date night. The service was pretty slow and price were high, we were ok with this. The waitress didn't really come and check on us as much as we’d expect. They didn’t give us the breads until we asked and it was’t warm. The bread reminded me of italian bread with no flavor. Here is the review of the food. Pate with pickles were good. Mussels dish was quite bad. The broth was off and the muscle was overcooked and not fresh. Lamb was great. Soft and flavorful. The potato that came with the dish is terrific. Bouillabaisse was terrible. The broth was sour, lacks salt and seafood umami flavor that expects of this type of broth. Seafood were not flavorful. A big disappointment. Souffle. Good but not special Panna cotta. The texture was off. Overall, the foods were pretty standard to quite bad on some dish. French foods are much more flavorful and well prepared this. Pretty big disappointment. Total of my bill was $150 for two people and one glass of wine.

Cafe des Amis has to one of the best kept secrets of KC. They excel in everything from food, service, to atmosphere. This hidden gem is worth visiting. Their menu changes to pair with the season. You have an excellent selection and each dish is harmonious combination of flavor. Their dessert options are scrumptious in their own right, but the passionfruit sorbet will take you back with its perfectly tangy/sweet flavor.

Our visit was very disappointing for a few reasons. Firstly my cappucino was served in what appeared to be an espresso cup. The coffees were overpriced, for my espresso style cappucino was £3.10 (no syrups or extra shots). The service was extremely slow and considering there was my wife and I and one other customer in the cafe plus five members of staff - no excuse for it either. Overall very disappointing. I have barista experience and was shocked at the level of service and product considering the prices charged. Will not visit again.

This is an actual restaurant, it’s like the old days when there was such a thing as something decent anywhere. We ordered a lot, and everything was perfect. The steak was like looking into the face of God. Spotless. It was like a giant full-body sigh of relief, l wasn’t sure if I was going to cry or pee my pants. Thank you Jesus, thank you for this one tiny break in the nonstop onslaught of soul breaking nonsense we are all being forced to face daily

Always a first rate experience. The food is delicious and authentic French cuisine. The service is excellent without being over bearing. You can relax and enjoy fine dining in a small venue.

A gem of a café with lots of different, equally lovely, spaces to sit inside or outside with attractive decor around the indoor tables and beautiful plants around the outdoor seating. From the outside I expected it to be expensive but, whilst not cheap, it was no more expensive than most cafés these days and we had a really nice time when we stopped there for lunch. The food was good and the children's meal our kids ordered came in its own little wicker hamper which the children found delightful. The staff were friendly, patient and helpful and took the time to have a chat with us and our kids on our way out and gave us lots of recommendations of places to go on our holiday. I was sad that we didn't make it back later in the week because I'd spotted some very yummy looking cheese scones on the way out and having missed the soup and scone deal on this occasion as whatever the soup of the day had been it was evidently very tempting because by the time we arrived there was none left, I was keen to pop back in for a soup and scone lunch. Fortunately we all enjoyed our stay in Morpeth so hopefully we will visit again and can return to this charming café.

We liked the atmosphere. The service was adequate. I had the goat cheese salad- the cheese and crostinis were very good, the jam was nonexistent and I found the dressing on the field greens bitter. The lamb was very good, but the vegetables extremely disappointing. The potatoes were good but very small portion size- about 3 bites, and they were a bit cold. Other than that was one small slice of tomato, 2 almost raw stalks of asparagus and cabbage which was an odd choice for late May, and extremely over salted. My husband had the asparagus soup and it was fibrous and not very good. He also had the rabbit which was a bit tough and also very skimpy on vegetables/sides. The soufflé was good, but again the ice cream served with it was about the size of a walnut. We still enjoyed our night together, but when paying over $100 for a nice meal- no drinks- we expected better. We wouldn’t go back based on our experience tonight.

Amazing food and service. Such a unique gem. Perfect for a date night, catching up with friends and family and pretty much any other occasion where you would appreciate wonderful food and great service. Menu is clear and concise with options to satisfy anyone. Everything we ordered tasted perfect. And the dessert… oh my. They had strawberry rhubarb sorbet as a special and it was superb. Not to mention that we came in late on a Tuesday night with 2 small hungry kids looking for dinner as everything else was closed and we were taken care of and felt welcome. If you want to break away from your usual chain restaurants and are looking for something special and inspiring, I highly recommend checking out Cafe Des Amis.

I live in Brookside and I haven’t been to a restaurant with better service than this. The cost is more than reasonable as well; I was expecting a $100 meal just simply based on our service and ambience. THE FOOD WAS AMAZING. I am so excited to come back and will recommend to everyone!

Fantastic atmosphere for an intimate date or family. This cozy, but sophisticated, eatery provides authentic French cuisine. The menu is simple, yet the flavors are far from. The complexity within each dish is appreciated from the very first bite. You cannot go wrong.

Nice atmosphere, a delicious choice of luncheon treats and good wine. We enjoyed a lovely lunch with our son and wife before leaving after our Christmas visit to their home.

We have been dining at Cafe Des Amis for over ten years, including graduation celebrations, birthdays, and anniversaries. They have never let us down, from the quality and taste of the food to the care provided by the staff. This is truly a unique place to dine. My only complaint is beyond the staff's ability to control, but our last dinner was overshadowed by a table of six who were drunk, rude, and so loud my wife and I couldn't hear each other from across our small table. This was our anniversary dinner, but instead of talking to each other we had to listen to this crowd and all of their personal life stories. In spite of one uncomfortable night, we will be back.

Whilst in Morpeth we always visit here for a quick bite and drink. We’re never disappointed, and today was no exception. Busy cafe today with lots of reserved tables, but managed to grab one in the conservatory. Ordered 2 chicken mayo sandwiches & hot drinks, very quick efficient service from the team. Always feel welcome here and will always return. My coffee was very tasty.

One bite and it's easy to tell these chefs know what they're doing. Everything was cooked and seasoned perfectly. The staff was attentive and personable, and the atmosphere was surprisingly comfortable with music and heaters for their outdoor dining area. We are looking to go back again soon

It has been years since I had been here and after going last night, kind of upset with myself it's been so long! From start to finish, I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT CAFE DES AMIS. I called same day, on a Wedneaday after and the owner was able to squeeze us in for a midweek romantic dinner:). The husband and wife pair that own/run this business are TOP NOTCH. The food quality is mind blowing and literally wanted more of everything we tried. The fresh maid lavender infused butter was absolutely incredible and made the entire dinner that much more enjoyable. The fresh bread they give you is absolutely out of this world and perfectly baked. The husband being a pastry chef and the wife being a chef back in the kitchen makes this place even that much more enjoyable with a fabulous back story. The pictures that I am going to post with this absolutely do not do this place Justice whatsoever. I would recommend expecting to be here at least an hour and a 1/2 to enjoy the full experience. The wine menu is also very unique and educational giving you the wines the area of the world they come from and then the pricing. Then you flip to the back of the wine menu and it describes every single wine they offer in detail and show you a picture of the bottle, very nice touch! We had a very enjoyable and laugh filled conversation at the end of the evening with the owner himself. He is so full of life energy and humor! If you even kind of like French inspired food, You just need a place to go one evening for a nice dinner with your significant other, Or perhaps your celebrating something very special. You would literally be doing yourself an injustice and missing out on this little piece of joy in your life. If you did not try this restaurant at least once!

I had takeaway cake from this small business in Morpeth earlier this week, it was phenomenal it was also light and tasteful. The staff in this cafe where also outstanding I would definitely recommend I went in on Saturday and the young lady who served me was so kind and welcoming would definitely recommend.

Date night with my fiancé! He took me to Cafe Des Ami which is a quaint and romantic restaurant with authentic French cuisine. I thought my palate had gone to heaven. Food and French wine was so very good. Yummy fresh hot bread and lavender butter were served. Escargot melted in your mouth. My fiancé had special short rib dinner and I had the lamb. Perfection!! Then came the dessert. My fiancé had chocolate mousse and I had the soufflé. Heavenly!! Old street-lights of Parkville and an Indian Summer evening added to the ambience. Perfect evening!!!!

Popped into grab a quick lunch, lovely food and even nicer staff. It was nice to chat since I was by myself - wish I’d got the girls names but everyone was friendly.

Ordered a Flat White with Oat Milk… sorry no Oat. Wants too imprecise with the look or feel of this place but if you like your coffee weak and tasting like like dirty dish water, this is the cafe for you,

It is a very nice little restaurant, the ambiance is pleasant and it is a nice and quiet place to spend a good moment and have a nice meal. The service is very good as well.

Cafe Des Amis once again exceeded our expectations. The first visit was a delightful brunch on the patio. Last Sunday we attend a special event wine dinner. It was hands down the best meal and service we have recieved in a long time. The five course meal was cooked to perfection, flavorful, and plated beautifully. The wines were perfectly paired and reasonably prices to purchase take home bottles. Join their email list to hear about events and call asap to make a reservation for the wine dinner- they fill up quick! The owner Guillaume creates a warm and inviting atmosphere to his restaurant. We can't wait to go back!

One of my favorite restaurants in the KC area. It’s a cozy intimate place that’s perfect for a date night or small celebration. After trying nearly everything on the menu I think I can safely say that everything on the menu is delicious. The wine selection is awesome as well, but can be overwhelming by the sheer number of options. Don’t be afraid to ask for help, as the host will be happy to pick a bottle that suits your tastes. Have always wanted to visit for lunch, which I will one of these days.

It had been several years since I had enjoyed a wonderful meal at this restaurant. . . and I'm still waiting after having eaten there last weekend. Our total bill was over $130. I ordered the fresh pea soup with chevre (barely warm, under seasoned), and the Coquilles St. Jacques (scallops). The scallops were perfectly seared, but very small, and only three of them. This was served with (no joke) a generous tablespoon of risotto, two spears of tough asparagus, a small slice of grilled baby tomato, and some shaved shitake mushrooms (about 1/2 teaspoon). My partner had the filet that, while cooked to the correct temperature, came so blackened and charred on the outside, it made the steak taste bitter, with similarly tiny side poritons. Also, it was not a filet - it was clearly cut from the chateaubriand section with a piece of chewy, charred chain still attached. Our dinner guest who ordered the filet had a visibly better cut of the filet, but also complained about the bitter char. Overall, for a quality french meal at that price, I'd prefer to enjoy Fou Frog or Aixois and not have to stop for a snack on the way home! I've spent time living in France, and this is not a French vs. American portion size argument - it was simply a stingy portion with tiny amounts of the most inexpensive items on the plate (risotto and vegetables).

Terrible service. Mediocre, cold food. Over priced and small portions. I’m confused how anyone would actually come back! This place is laughable.

It took around 15 minutes to get greeted by our server. All of the food was lukewarm and very small portions. The mushy vegatables seemed leftover from the WEEK. The service was in existence other than refilling of water. We wanted to like this place but unfortunately we won’t be back.

We visited today for a light lunch, I had previously been on numerous occasions. This was my husband first visit! He wasn’t disappointed, he made comment he enjoyed his visit and liked the set up, it felt welcoming and friendly. The menu offered a wide range of options reasonably priced. My husband chose a chicken and mayonnaise sandwich with a side salad and crisps and I chose a jacket potato with tuna and mayonnaise with crisps and salad it was delicious. We didn’t have room to enjoy a homemade cake, next time for sure! The staff were very friendly, efficient and made time for their customers. You really must pay a visit
