Cafe Chateau in Havering

I wanted to have a breakfast and some couple of hot drinks as it was raining out side I wanted to sit on big table as it was busy the guy wanted to give me table between two table as it is very tight area and I had to do some confidential work as well. He wanted to give a table upstairs as I had luggage I said I want to sit the table as I choose that ideal for me. And he denied to give me the table for 4 as I was alone he was judge in his mind that I will hold the table as he wasn't wear how.much I eat really it should not judge people as I was able.to bring huge groub every week if I was gonna happy but as they seem wasn't really care that I left the place sad and unsatisfied. Hope they will care the costumers choices too.

Beat cafe about been coming here over a decade. Great hot chocolates breakfasts, sandwiches and jacket potatoes. They actually give you two nice quality sausages in a sausage sandwich which is rare these days and if you eat in you always get salad too

What can I say ... I ordered 3 times from this restaurant and the delivery was fine. This time I ordered from uber eats, and it showed the food was delivered, but I waited for 20 minutes, the delivery boy never appeared. He stole my food. I called restaurant, they said they don't know, they can't help. I mean seriously!!!! Don't they know the uber driver who picked up the food and his contact details??? I will never order from this restaurant ....

We have been here for years. Food is great. Family friendly . We love going there for a lovely lunch .

Food prices a little high compared to other cafes in the area. But that aside, the food was very good.

Whilst in Romford, we decided to come here for a change. Friendly service. We ordered ham omelette and chips, burger and chips and a jacket potato with beans. Food was good and hot

Absolutely heartbroken to be asked to leave when myself and a friend visited today as our babies were crying. I left in tears as any new mum would! They have highchairs and baby changing facilities but are clearly not family friendly. Appalling treatment and disgusting service.

Because the Golden Lion were not yet serving food, the friends I was with suggested going here. I am glad they suggested it. The menu is extensive and it is good value. I had a lovely massive jacket potato with chilli con carne and salad, washed down with a cappuccino coffee. The service was quick. Worth visiting.

5 review based on breakfast Ordered via justeat. Looked at 2 other cafe near by but they didn't have any actual full breakfast like this cafe, so ordered here and will be my go too for fry up on a lazy day.

I ordered my food at 14:22 with uber eats, and what was meant to be an 18 minute wait,turned into 40 mins. I spoke with the owner of the cafe explaining my frustration, as I am 5 months pregnant and extremely hungry at work. My food came and it was so cold, and i asked the owner if I could make the trip to the cafe, with the order, for another one to be made? And he...so billegerent told me NO and that I should pay again if I want another meal. DISGRACEFUL! I wont recommend

Very clean. Tables are spaced out. There's also upstairs seating and outside seating. Second time being here, had the same English Breakfast and a cappuccino. Good portion size for the price as well.

Went here for lunch today Food was ok but staff were rude and cold and arrogant. Very dismissive when my daughter asked to do 2 separate orders and when asking for chicken nuggets without chips for the children the staff made up a price at the top of his head in front of us. We weren't allowed to touch the ketchup or sauces but apparently corona does not go near vinegar as we were allowed to touch that. I also had the menu snatched out of my hands and asked to take a picture of it.

Staff are friendly, food is delicious and freshly cooked. Cafe is very clean. As well as the seating downstairs there is more upstairs and outside seating is available if you fancy it.

We recently visited this place after a recommendation from one of the locals, we had a roast of the Sunday, and breakfast on the monday, staff on Sunday were very attentive and engaging, staff on monday not so, however that didnt detract from the decent meals we had,roast on sunday was plentiful and delicious, breakfast on monday, hit all the right notes, we go to romford quite regularly, so will definitely go back.

Really like this place. No fuss. Good service and food. Prefer seating upstairs so it's easy to forget where you are while eating lunch. Favourite is cheese and mushroom omelette. Good size portions.

We always have our office lunch here and they are always so accommodating. We had 18 people last time, food was hot and fresh, service was great.

Went in here Monday. The food is lovely and very generous portions.

Meal is good. Staff pretty good. The boss awful person all time is shouting. The atmosphere is very bad.

We have used this cafe for many years and have never had a bad meal there . It’s quality is unvarying. Fish and chips there are better than the majority of fish restaurants, wing of skate with chips peas and salad is to die for . The owner and his staff are so friendly and helpful

I've been coming here for 13 years and have never had a bad meal. The staff are soooooooo friendly and helpful and they can't do enough for you. Once you've been here you wont want to go anywhere else for breakfast or lunch

Unfriendly staff who don't listen. Worst bacon sandwich I've ever had. One piece of really fatty horrible bacon in a sandwich! Suprised at all the good comments

The best Spagbol in Essex. Even has dedicated disable toilet and washing facilities.

Coffee was nice and hot. My friend ordered a chicken pie, mine was steak & kidney pie. It arrived an looked lovely but it wasn’t. The chips and beans were nice. Then we tried the pie. It was like cutting through cardboard. Maybe better luck next time

Good clean cafe, prompt service and good value for money but can get very busy at lunch time and on market days.

I visited the café over the weekend and despite the fact the food was fine, I weren't very impressed that whilst I was sitting at the table the female chef (this was Sunday) came out of the kitchen area and walked to the front door (just wandering around) and right in my line of sight in front of me took a tissue out and started blowing and rubbing her nose whilst I were sitting eating my breakfast. This really put me off of my breakfast and having worked in catering and owning my own food establishments you do not come into customer view, still in an apron and hat and pull out a tissue and start to do that. Was quite gross if I'm honest.

My favourite fish & chips restaurant in Romford - freshly fried fish with chips, salad and a choice of peas/beans for over £6. I also love the chicken kebab meal. Thoroughly recommended - sit upstairs, there's plenty of room.
