We had a lovely meal at the Himalayan. Spiced chai, tasty starters, delicious mains and excellent homemade desert. The staff were really welcoming, too.

After receiving a voucher for Xmas, we decided to pay Himalayas a visit, and it definitely won’t be long until we return. The service was fantastic and the food for all 3 courses was unbelievable. I’ve been to most curry places in the north east and this is right up there as one of the best.

Here on a very quiet Monday evening. The food was excellent with some interesting Nepalese dishes. We were given a free taste of a different starter which was absolutely delicious. The Mo Mo starter was very tasty as was the king prawn green curry. Full up after starter and mains (and share of extra starter) so no room for dessert but we were offered some complimentary mint tea which was very refreshing.

Dhrub, the manager, was very friendly and fun to chat with. Great meal! I am gluten free and dairy free, and they had tons of options. I’m on my way through town and stopped here. Glad I did!

What a great restaurant to have nearby. A friend and I had a superb meal and evening. Absolutely delicious food in a friendly atmosphere, it brought back fond memories of Nepal. We even tried a dessert - delicious. Thank you so much. A very reasonable price too!

Visited in May 2023 and was completed satisfied. We were greeted very warmly upon entering, and all our questions about the menu were very quickly answered, along with great recommendations. Our food was delicious and well prepared, and the presentation was excellent. We would eat there again and again and recommend this restaurant to anyone if they happen to be Peterculter.

We’ve been trying various Indian restaurants in and around Aberdeen recently with usually disappointing, over priced, results. Recent reviews of The Himalayas in Peterculter were good so we gave it a go. Easily the best curries in many years. Fantastic flavours, good quality ingredients, perfectly cooked. The two gents that run the place were really friendly and explained how they go about making their dishes. Great restaurant overall and very reasonably priced. This is the sort of place that deserves support so we will definitely go back.

We did get there quite late, but we still got served. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We did order main with starters and I have to admit it was one of the best Nepalese I ever had. And I've tried a lot :) everything was freshly prepared, full of taste, just amazing. Exactly what we needed after a long day.

The service was impeccable, complimentary food by very friendly staff/ waiter, and a night to remember. Great food, the coconut rice was perfectly cooked, and Chicken Tandoori was tender and delicious! The chef even gave us a little rice pudding to top off the evening- free! I will be going back. Not many restaurants like this anymore sadly.

We had a lovely meal, one vegetarian, one chicken. All the food was nicely cooked and the garlic naan did not scrimp on the garlic. The chilli paneer to start was perfectly firey.

This was an exceptionally good meal. From the outset the service was both friendly and helpful. The food when it arrived was exceptionally tasty and well presented. There were a wide variety of dishes to choose, many of them Nepalese. The lamb was tender and succulent and the spices varied and interesting. The final bill was very reasonable. Much has been done to make the interior more appealing.

I went with some friends, we ordered starters & mains , food was good, but by 9.10 the kitchen staff were waiting on the seats in the main dining room, just waiting for the remaining customers to finish their meals, sitting patiently, telling us to finish our food and drink really quickly or we were being insensitive to the staff!!,,, awful experience

A superb restaurant which serves delicious Nepalese/Indian food. We have ordered many times now and have always been happy with what has been served. The owner/manager is one of the friendliest people I have met and is always very accommodating and makes one feel welcome....

Lovely meal. Attentive friendly service. Covid safe environment, not over crowded. Kids loved the chicken tikka and momo starter. Lots of standard Indian and more authentic Nepalese options. Really useful menu guidance on allergens.

One doesn't expect to find an outstanding meal in a suburb of Aberdeen but having eaten three Indian meals in the last week, one in a well known Edinburgh location and the other in a longstanding Aberdeen city centre restaurant, this was but far the best. The starters of Himalayan fish and Momo parcels were tasty and generous. My main course which was Lamb Hara Bhara in a mint and spinach cream sauce was exceptional and my fellow diners dishes were equally interesting. The restaurant is licensed with a good value choice of wine beer and spirits. Service was friendly attentive and efficient . We will certainly return.

Visited here to get a take-away meal. It was prepared in around 20mins which was good for a Saturday night. I ordered a Himalayan Butter Chicken and a naan bread. Both were very nice.

Visiting one of my sons in Bieldside for a family gathering, my wife and I went to the restaurant with my two sons, one daughter-in-law and three grandsons (aged 6 to 10).

Have been a few times this year when visiting the area, absolutely first class, delightful owner Manoj couldn't be more helopful and you can watch your dinner being prepared through the large window to the kitchen.

We visited for takeaway early on a Friday night. Many orders were coming in by phone but we were dealt with promptly. We ordered two mains, a plain naan and pilau rice. Food came quickly and portion sizes were generous. Chicken Madras was very nice indeed and the naan was fantastic. The Lamb Jalfrezi, however, was slightly under-seasoned but the meat was very tender and there was a lot of it. A pinch of salt sorted this out. Staff are very friendly and we had a good chat with (I believe) the owner about the decor and photos. By some distance the best Indian in the Culter area. We will be back.

Well good travellers what can I say about the Himalayas tandoori! My mum and I went in the other evening for the first time expecting it to be a takeaway only and were Msurprised to find its a seating restaurant as well.We were shown to our table by our very nice friendly host and perused the very diverse menu.Mum opted for the biriani and I went for the tandoori king prawns which is my fave garlic nan fo me and chappattis for mum.The food arrived and I was happy to see large plump fresh prawns sat before me on a sizzeling plate with an onion garnish I dived in and honestly curry lovers it was excellent! top grade delicious prawns with a nice hint of spice it truly was perfect complimented by my well cooked garlic nan it was the perfect dish on a cold night fantastic! Mum let me try hers and I was taken by the delicate and tasty flavours that tingled my tastebuds very very nice a real winner all in all a great meal in nice surroundings with friendly staff you honestly cant go wrong and they also do home delivery so folks if your in the wee village of culter and love a curry head to the Himalayas for a truly tantalising meal its that good we will be back regards from Catherine and Barry

I visited the Himalayas with my family and the food and service was absolutely amazing. They have decorated the menu with plenty of choice and consists dishes from Nepalese cuisine and Indian cuisine. Our food was perfectly flavoured and the service was attentive.

Simply the best. All dishes we have tried are amazing and the staff are all so friendly and considerate. Guaranteed satisfaction!

Went in to order a take away which I was advised to come back and collect 30 mins later. Returned after 35 mins to find they had forgotten about the order and not started cooking it. When the food did come 10 mins later it was unusually bland and the sauce was very watery. Had been a regular customer but not sure we will be back!

Excellent food, consistent over 6 months. Helpful & accommodating staff. (Thats all I wanted to say, but Tripadvisor insists on 100 characters).

We have frequented this excellent local Nepalese restaurant since it's opening, dining here on average 2 or 3 times each month. The staff and ambience are a delight and the food is exquisite. Specialities of the house including fish, meat and chicken 'sizzlers' are highly recommended. Authentic Nepalese sauces and a wide range of dishes cannot be faulted. A main attraction are the owner/ proprietors who man 'front of house' and provide a first class welcome and exceptional hospitality. Since acquiring an alcoholic beverages licence we have particularly enjoyed the draught Cobra beer, a range of wines and whiskies. All prices are highly competitive and with the quality of welcome, hospitality and staffing this venue qualifies as exceptional by any standards. Note that the restaurant also operates a very competitive and excellent home delivery service which in the early evening is always in high demand so expect to be part of a very busy operation if you have an early evening booking.

We went as a family to celebrate my husband’s 60th birthday. The restaurant is very clean and has a lovely atmosphere, great choice of food and very polite, friendly staff. The food served was of an extremely high standard, delicious! Enjoyed the visit and will definitely return.

The food is always really good. I like a Korma and it’s always tasty and full over flavour unlike many other places I’ve been. Staff are very polite and attentive. The only down side food does take a while but we go in expecting this now.

El plato principal de curry para llevar no tenía gusto y estaba lleno de coliflor económica (básicamente un agente de carga barato usado por tandooris para mantener los costos bajos). Sin sabor Las guarniciones de la bola de masa no vienen con ensalada y son pequeñas. Personal amigable (probablemente contento de que están obteniendo beneficios al vender ingredientes baratos y cobrar el mejor precio). Lo mejor es evitar este lugar e ir a un lugar donde los ingredientes no sean tan baratos y sin sabor. ¡El pollo sabía como cosas económicas muy baratas! ¡Al menos los propietarios / empleados no son políticos arriesgados como Malik en la otra casa de curry en Culter! En resumen: básico y sin sabor: personal amable (pero la comida no está a la altura).

We ate here with my parents last night and all really enjoyed it. The food was quite similar to traditional Indian. The quality was excellent. Locale con piatti tipici indiani e nepalesi. L'ambiente è intimo,ben curato e caratteristico senza essere pacchiano. I due gestori ci hanno accolto con grande cortesia e simpatia e hanno riservato attenzioni (senza essere invadenti) a tutti i tavoli, nonostante il locale fosse pieno. Abbiamo mangiato veramente molto bene, e abbondantemente a giusto prezzo. Lo suggerisco per chi è di passaggio verso Aberdeen o il parco nazionale di Cairngorm.

Wir wollten am zweiten Abend nicht im Hotel Maryculter House essen, aber auch nicht weit fahren. So sind wir im Himalayas gelandet und waren sehr angetan. Es gibt eine sehr große Auswahl an Vorspeisen und Hauptgerichten, die authentisch zubereitet und serviert werden. Das Personal ist außerordentlich freundlich, die Portionen sind gut bemessen und die Preise moderat. Alles in allem waren wir sehr zufrieden und werden gerne wiederkommen.

Being in Peterculter for a night i selected the Himalayan by reading other TripAdvisor reviews. It was my first approach to the Nepalese food but it was very positive.

Yet again another lovely meal at this restaurant. Can’t fault the quality of the food ( monkfish masala is amazing as well as the Nepalese traditional dishes). Service and friendly welcoming staff are great.

My hotel recommended it and I loved it. The owner was super nice and helped with the menu. I am a single and I ordered two starters, Monk fish and Shrimp, they was make mild if you want. Main meal was Lamb, it was tender, not fatty and very nice with the fresh rice. I would eat here again. Also fast WiFi as bonus. Good ice cream across street.

I didn't think much of this place after it changed hands but we thought we'd give it another try - well that was a big mistake.

Went here tonight and it was quite busy with only one man on who provided an excellent service to everyone! While we waited for our starters, we were given popadoms and different chutneys. When the starters arrived they were nice and hot and so tasty, I highly recommend the MOMO. Not a long wait for the mains and they were equally as delicious. I had the madras and my partner had the jalfrezi. Both dishes were a lovely level of spice. Can’t wait to go back here! Left feeling full and satisfied with our meals:)

We were out for a meal on Saturday night. The service was brilliant with the staff being very attentive. The meal itself was lovely, tasted delicious and it came in very well sized portions, we left feeling very full. The on street parking was also very helpful as we got parked right behind the restaurant with no problems. We will definitely return!

We were out for dinner with friends on Saturday night. We have been to this restaurant four times. Each time there is a restaurant full of people and two people serving. With a busy take away/delivery service to run and a full restaurant - only two people cannot cope. Thus you are left sitting in between drinks orders, food orders, the food appearing (we had two main courses on our table - four people round the table - and no rice, nan etc taken out from the kitchen - in the meantime the two serving men were at the desk seeing to carry outs). The food is lovely when you get it. However, there really is a need for more people to be employed here so that the service can match the lovely food.

This little restaurant has amazing food, some traditional dishes but also outstanding Nepalese specialities. There is a lot to choose from and staff are very happy to explain the different items on the menu. Overall: highly recommended! It is a good idea to book a table at the weekend because they get very busy then.

Purely by chance we drove past and stopped - amazing restaurant, impeccably clean and food to die for. Glass windows to kitchen but they have nothing to hide anyway. It’s an hour and a half drive from home and well worth the trip cannot recommend highly enough!

Went here for dinner tonight after my family raved about it, and I can see why! Their hospitality was fantastic, I felt so welcome like we were old friends. The food was perfect, haven’t had a meal like this is Aberdeen for a long time! The dishes were a great size, super tasty and were very authentic for the region. Will definitely be back!

We've lived in the area for a while and had the pleasure to eat at The Himalaya's last week.

A group of 6 ate here on Friday night and every one of us had really tasty dishes. I ordered the Sizzle Chicken this time as a friend had it the last time we were here and it was just as good as before. The food is really nicely presented and the guys serving are very welcoming and friendly making The Himalayas somewhere we will be back to soon.

Just got a takeaway for 6 people. One of the tastiest curries in city and shire, better than anything in Banchory and a free bottle of wine!

We pass this small restaurant every day going to work and thought to give it a go for my birthday. Not many places open on a Monday but they had 7 tables going out of maybe 12 in total! Its unpretentious and the service matched, casual in a good way, not rushed and not too long to wait. Even so we got two Manchurian veggie balls to try for free and they were delicious. All served in a more modern style, slightly smaller portions but with sides and rice/naans it was too much. What we didn't eat we took home. Will definitely go back again. Good genuine cooking in a different style and a nice relaxed atmosphere to eat in. I had Nepalese Hara Bhara Lamb and it was delicious. Only negative, slightly small portions for the price which might bother some people but not us!

I visited this place last weekend with the idea of getting out of the city centre and trying somewhere new...I was not disappointed. The service was welcoming and so friendly with a relaxed atmosphere - but the food was out of this world. So nice. The presentation was great and the taste was even better. I had the Himalayan chicken sizzler and it was spectacular. I would recommend to anyone. One of the best meals I have had in Aberdeen.

Have now been a few times to this new restaurant in peterculter - the food and service is excellent - we have been with our 18 month old granddaughter who was spoiled by the staff

Four of us tried this restaurant on Saturday 17th having seen good ratings on trip advisor. We were delighted with the service and freshly cooked food and will definitely go again. Dishes that got special mention were the vegetable Manchuria starter and the prawn passanda, himali butter chicken and chicken Shaslik. Would not try the garlic mushroom pakora again as the batter was a bit thick.

We have had 3 takeaways from this restaurant, very very impressed with every dish we have had. Rate it as top in Aberdeen at the moment.

I’m not sure how recently the Himalayas opened, but I’ve had 3 take-always already! It’s delicious! I’m not one for spice or venturing outside my comfort zone so I’ve only had the korma and pass and a but both were excellent. My hubby has tried 3 different dishes and loved them all. As hubby is also the one to pick up he also tells me the staff are friendly and restaurant is looking nice. We’ve already decided on our next child free night we will go down for a meal, looking forward to it!

This newly opened Nepalese restaurant is just outstanding. Offering a mixture of Indian and Chinese cuisine with a very Nepalese slant it boasts a varied menu of traditional Indian dishes but also many Nepalese variations. The owners made several suggestions which we were delighted we followed. The Chicken Chhoila was so fresh and tasty as was my Garlic Chilli Lamb. It was all accompanied by the lightest Nan I have ever had the pleasure to eat. The wine list is well chosen and the staff really do impress . The restaurant is not big but to me that adds to the ambience. Nice toilets too. And they deliver takeaway food as well.. A must try . Well impressed.

This was the first time we had visited since the change of ownership. Restaurant has been given a fantastic make-over. The seats are now very comfortable and it is a small but very inviting place now. The restaurant owner and staff were very knowledgeable about the dishes and they simply could not do enough for you - we were well looked after from the moment we entered till the moment we left. I cannot fault a single thing from my visit. The monk fish masala was divine as was my momo vegetarian starter. My partner also loved his vegetarian choices. The garlic naan was amazing - it's is one of the best naans I have ever tasted. All the food that we had was of high quality and really fresh. We will definitely be back.
