Cafe Blush in Edinburgh, City of

Just had brunch here and it was lovely. Got recommended this place by a family member and I’m glad I came. Had the pancakes with maple syrup with banana as extra. The pancakes were so delicious, nicely presented with blueberries and strawberry slices. I definitely recommend it. They’re freshly made so you needn’t worry about getting that dry feeling at the top of your mouth. They were soo good! The environment is welcoming, the staff is very friendly and so comfortable to be here. Especially with my autism and social anxiety, this place was so comfortable I had my headphones off almost the entire time! I’d definitely recommend giving this place a visit as it’s so nice. Next time I’ll be back to try the toasties.

Would recommend the marlenka cake. Bacon roll was great too. Very friendly service.

Went yesterday and the waiter was very friendly! My partner and I ordered caramel iced coffees which were the perfect mix of caramel and espresso ☕ the food was delicious, particularly our side salads which had the most delicious dressing. Highly recommend for lunch or a coffee break!

Great cafe, friendly owner and perfect menu for breakfast, brunch or lunch to be honest. It's had a recent makeover and looks good. New seats are comfy (appreciated by my back). Easy to recommend.

Great food & very friendly service

I had the armenian cake (honey and walnut cake) and hands down one of the best cakes I have ever had. The owner recommended it and I loved it. Would go back again and again. Service was awesome. Food was plated really well. The people working there were really sweet.

Went for breakfast, initially a bacon roll, but went the whole hog with a full breakfast. Omg, it was excellent, well cooked, well presented, with thick bacon, Haggis, 2 eggs, 2 sausage, beans, toast the whole works. Can't be faulted, excellent 👌

Bright and welcoming cafe with superb friendly service. 2 Full breakfasts that tasted amazing and were fantastic value for money. Bacon and sausage doubler which was huge and a gluten free toasty with chicken mayo and roasted peppers - delicious! The latte and cappuccino were fantastic too. Cakes looked lovely but just had no room 🤷. Need to go back to try them.

The very BEST coffee we have had during our stay in Edinburgh!! No exaggeration. The owner said that he will not compromise on his source for coffee beans. We can taste why! The menu had a wide offering of breakfast (all day) and lunch items. The service was very friendly and helpful. Wonderful experience! Highly recommended!

Me and my amazing boyfriend were looking for a quick bite to eat before sadly leaving that beautiful city that is Edinburgh. We walked across Café Blush as it was near our hotel. Not only the people were very very lovely and made our breakfast even better, but the food was very tasty! We had paninis and both the chicken and the goat one were delicious! The moccha was incredible! I highly recommend that charming little place if you are spending time in lovely lovely Edinburgh:)

Only the 2nd time visiting Memet's beautiful little establishment. What a gem of a place. Gorgeous home made soup both visits - made by as I understand, his wife. Lovely atmosphere - spotlessly clean as were the nice toilets. Will be back often.

Very disappointing as poached eggs were hard boiled and then the 2nd plate arrived and they were so undercooked they were inedible.I was then expected to pay for them!Manager was rude to me exclaiming"you are chef I am not!"Then went on to explain how hi poached egg machine worked!?Husband was disappointed on previous visit with his soup-watery and under seasoned.None of my family will be returning.

Bad for the price take away burger and chips 13 quid overpriced for a greasy spoon and horrible chips 1/10 wouldnot recommend

Lovely lunch. We visited for a light lunch. We had a poached egg on toast, a wrap, and scrambled eggs on toast Everything was excellent.

Excellent friendly service and very attentive with helpful suggestions. I'm now a fan of vanilla in my coffee ! Cheese and ham toastie with lovely dressed salad on the side was the best I've had in ages. Being lunchtime it was popular but service was fast and the food was delicious and served by Daniella with a smile. The burgers and baked potatoes being served also looked great. Definitely recommend you try it..

Went here during the week. Specifically asked if their lentil soup of the day contained dairy, they advised me that it didn’t.. that obviously mustn’t have been the case as my stomach has since been awful. Wouldn’t recommend.

Fabulous service. Recently under new management. Right across for Spring Valley Gardens bus stop. Only had time for a cup of hot chocolate, but it was well worth it! I also saw the full breakfast the server was making other patrons--I'll be back for that!!

I had 20 mins after hair appointment then school run. Was served so quickly with nice chat and I’ve jut ate the best bacon roll I think I’ve been served. Lots of bacon, lovely soft roll and great cup of tea - all for £6!...

Seems to have changed hands and is now more down to earth cafe than Ladies who Lunch in Morningside.Sadly no more home made soups. However our coffees were good as was my friends scone. My peri peri wrap could have done without the jalapeños but...

Not a pleasant experience. Filthy floors in toilets and no toilet roll in gents and toilet roll holder broken. Coffee very weak. Scone more like a cake. And being charged £1 for cup hot water is taking it way too far. Staff couldn’t care less....

I had great piece of Victoria Sandwich cake today. I visit often and am never disappointed. Service was great. They do a lovely Hot Chocolate which I really rate. Try it out and see what I mean. In the heart of Morningside.

Waitress didn't wear a mask. Double espresso turned out to be a weak black coffee Cake was nice though! Added onto my list 'not to return'

Not been for a while but it was worth the wait. Full breakfast was good as was the coffees yes I had two. Food was hot so was coffee did not find it particularly bitter as said in some reviews its a matter of taste...

Had a very nice latte here which was much nicer than the offering from nearby cafe Nero. However, much to my embarrassment I walked out of the cafe, having forgotten to pay. Fortunately, my companion reminded me and I was in able to return before the barista had a chance to chase me up the street.

I went there because nothing else was open and I needed something substantial to eat. I was very pleased with the freshly cooked Spanish omelette and the salad. My son had a panini with a coffee. The whole bill was only £15. I will definitely go there again even if other cafes are open. Incidentally the toilets were clean and the social distancing and sanitizing rules were followed. All in all a great find.

Popped in on a wander round Morningside, looking for tea and cake on my birthday, during Covid restrictions. Lovely clean bright place, refreshments very good, and service was quick as a flash!

I popped in for a takeaway lunch on Monday. The tomato and basil soup and cheese salad roll were completely delicious and just exactly what I wanted. The service was really great too, friendly and calm. I have sensory issues and the lady who served me seemed to recognise that I was a but delicate and without making a fuss helped me get in and out of there like an everyday person, I was grateful. I took a couple of cheesecakes away for my friend and her daughter and although I didn't try them myself I was reliably informed that they were yummy. The tables seemed full of satisfied customers and I will definitely be going back.

Got charged £2.50 for lettuce on my bacon roll....only in Scotland...

Nice fruit cake but £2.70 for a pot of tea for one is way over the top.

Lovely wee cafe in Morningside, with impressive menu. Nothing too complicated but full breakfast, paninis, various egg on toast variations, nachos etc as well as good selection of drinks and cakes (though I general find the latter somewhat too sugary) . They usually have gluten free bread, can do vegetarian and possibly some vegan. Wheelchair access is limited, you would need help to get in as there's a step and quite a heavy door. The toilet may just about be accessible with a wheelchair. It's on level flooring with the cafe so once you're in this should be workable. It may be slightly awkward negotiating the toilet door, and the hand dryer is definitely too high for a wheelchair user.

This is a lovely little gem of a place. Don't be disappointed if you can't get a seat because they are so busy. Try again. Worth waiting for. Staff so nice.

I have passed this little cafe lots of time but this morning decided to give it a try. A simple menu, very reasonably priced, good service and food was delicious. With so many cafes along Morningside Road this is definitely one to consider.

Been here several times the last several years, it's always friendly and cozy and all day breakfast is nice cause it's hard to get eggs after noon in cafés for some reason

Food quality hit and miss. In the past waiting staff were friendly and welcoming but ate there recently when one waitress was unfriendly and the other very patronising. Will not be returning and neither will my friends, who live in the area.

They do a fantastic loose leaf apple & cinnamon tea - I highly recommend it. Some of their cakes are quite nice, too, though pricey. Their lunch options are good, too.

No he comido aquí, pero tenía 2 americanos cuando visité ayer y pensé que era un excelente café y un servicio muy eficiente. El ambiente en la cafetería olía un poco a comida frita, ¡pero no me impidió quedarme un segundo café! Me encantaría volver.

Visited for breakfast. In spite of us being the only people in the restaurant, the morose member of staff got both our orders wrong (and didn't apologise). Scrambled eggs were almost entirely tasteless, as were the enormous slabs of under-toasted bread. Coffee was fine. Not a place I'd hurry back to.
