Cafe Bambino in Tandridge

Home from home. Majid and his team always make me feel welcome. Clean, friendly and family oriented cafe. They make the best freshly squeezed orange juice in my opinion (the smaller size is sufficient at £3.95). I also buy their bolognese dish occasionally as it is fantastic.

I have used this cafe over many years but not since Covid.I am staying locally short term and decided to revisit this morning 25th August,I was welcomed and this cafe is very clean.I didn’t ask for a menu but just ordered a regular black americano and two slices of toast and butter,these duly arrived and were quite adequate but nothing more.The bread was obviously from a large supermarket loaf nothing special.I was horrified to learn when I went to pay that it was £6.60… coffee £3.10, toast and butter £3.50!!!!…I asked for a receipt as did wonder whether I had someone else’s bill,but no it was mine,when I queried the cost I was sharply reminded that the prices are clearly on the menu!…I was honestly taken aback about this gross profiteering and extortionate price.I paid but obviously won’t be returning,more fool me for preferring to support an independent cafe rather than a high street chain in this very beleaguered high street that is Caterham….☹️…so very disappointed and well out of pocket…

I ate here for lunch for the first time recently with a friend and the staff were really friendly and the food was fresh and well cooked. I have the Bacon, Lettuce, Tomato & May sandwich on brown bread, and also had a tea. All very nice and would recommend and would eat here again.

I highly recommend this lovely, friendly café. Delicious meal and such great service. Excellent value for money 👍🏻

Everything is good and tasty here. Lively hot drinks too. Always served with a smile. You should try it - great varied menu selection. 👍⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The best tasting coffee in Caterham. Ignore the two big boys in Caterham & head hear for coffee with real flavour, excellent service, tasty snacks. Great fruit scones too.

My mum & I were visiting nearby & wanted a quick takeaway panini, this one was absolutely delish. It was made and ready to collect in around 10 minutes. I got the ham, cheese & tomato panini. Fresh bread - crunchy on the outside & soft inside - good quality ham, melted cheese & fresh tomatoes. On top of this it came with a surprise salad which was topped with herbs & big olives. The people working at the independent cafe bambino were also really lovely, they even thanked us for the business. Would really recommend to anyone in need of a quick light bite.

This has to be the friendliest place in Caterham, it’s also clean and tidy and they sell simple fresh well presented food at a great price. Really good for lunch and even a very strange Red Indian chap called Tonto Moloney - (Irish mother)loved it.

Checked out TripAdvisor reviews so walked past 3 other coffee shops to visit here. Nicely decorated. Very friendly owner (and son). Good value. Tasty hot chocolate. And we checked out the toilet before giving an excellent review - lovely! Would recommend

We found this comfortable and nicely decorated cafe by accident when attending a meeting in Caterham. After having excellent and sensibly priced cappucini and pastries in the moring we returned for a late lunch. Best panini I can remember - full of tasy filling and lots of mozzarella. The same went for the sandwiches and service was fast and friendly too. We'd be regulars if we were local.

There is always a welcome as you enter. Good quick service and plenty of choice whether a quick cuppa or something more substantial. Also take away. Highly recommended.

We , as a family often go to Bambinos..staff always friendly to customers..good food and drinks..I either go for wine or a coffee, children have had several soft drinks. I cannot think of anywhere else in caterham to go to for coffee to be honest....

Literally nothing special. Odd combinations for sandwich fillings, which were processed rather than home made. Not up to the rave reviews on here.

We usually pop in here for coffee and cake or a panini at lunchtime and the food is always nice. They do a great hot chocolate too. Always very welcoming of children. Good prices and always clean.
