Cafe Aroma in Cardiff

Had a burger, a hot chocolate and a coffee. All three were definitely not anything to write home to about. The venue is really nice but the food is bland and the coffee was so watery so wad the hot chocolate. From what I read the breakfasts seem okay. But anything else I'd not recommend. It is affordable though.

High Street cafe. Surprised to see that a notice that no tap water would be issued but bottle water to purchase could be bought!

The English breakfast was just delicious. The falafel wrap also was amazing. Our server was so sweet! We are here from new york with our luggage waiting to check-in and she was more than kind in letting us sit longer than our breakfast. We will be back before we leave!

Extremely appauled by the treatment from the owner to the customers. He was shouting and rude to us in front of my children. It was over a slice bread which he was refusing to give even though i had already paid for it. Absolutely disgusted. Will never go again.

The food was good, the staff were lovely and quite accommodating. Had a very pleasant lunch here, and it was good value for money. There was a decent amount of choice on the menu. I would happily go back again.

This was my first time there and it will be my last ! The owner is very very sulky which made us wondering what's wrong with him ! I couldn't wait for my kids to finish there food so we could leave!

Mouldy bread, missing times breakfast was was back and forward to each table then kitchen, spent 50pounds and left the food and it tasted so bad. Never will come again here.

I visited Cafe Aroma located at 120 Crwys Rd, Cardiff CF24 4NR, and unfortunately, my experience was quite disappointing. While the food was average, I was appalled by the owner's behaviour towards his staff. During my three visits, I witnessed the owner demean and berate a particular staff member in front of customers, especially targeting the south Asian staff member. This behaviour is unacceptable and made me feel uncomfortable as a customer. Furthermore, the owner was very hostile and defensive towards customers, including myself. When I challenged him about his rude behaviour towards me, he justified it by saying, "this is just the way I talk." This dismissive behaviour is not acceptable and shows a lack of respect towards customers. Overall, I was disappointed with the consistently poor quality of service and the owner's treatment of his staff. Based on my experience, I would advise others to avoid this place. It's essential to support businesses that treat their staff with respect and provide a welcoming environment for customers.

First time going to Cafe Aroma today. It was lovely and quiet with lots of room. Reasonable prices with great portions. The man working there is really nice too and the place is really clean will be back again soon. Thank you x

The customer service we got from the moment that we step foot in the breakfast place was spot on. Sharon was really nice and polite and recommended us the spicy Asian omelette which we enjoyed very much. I would recommend coming back here again.

Nice cafe on Crwys road. Portions are huge and the food never disappoints. Their home made burgers are probably one of the best in Cardiff. And it's halal as well!

Went for lunch with my daughter lovley clean and fresh inside , lovley choice of light bites which is exactly what we wanted ,must comment on the waitress who was so pleasant and helpful with a real happy face . Will definitely drop in again

Lovely Halal breakfast, the bacon wasn't the best and I'll avoid next time but the sausages I'd struggle to tell the difference between another cheap cafe sausage. Staff were friendly. Was quite busy at 10am.

When ever i am down in Cardiff from London i love to always go Cafe Aroma for a big english breakfast. The only downfall is they do not do fresh juices!

They say they make homemade waffles there from Tesco? They claim to give you a milk shake but give u a smoothie. The main women at the front desk is rude and ignorant, and i i nearly choked three times on strawberry stem from my supposed to be milkshake but it was a smoothie. Also they sit on their phones most of the time. Doing nothing.

Great breakfast and very reasonable priced. Staff friendly and place was very hygienic.

Visited yesterday. Lady who waited on our table was brilliant with my daughters. Very friendly and helpful. Good sized portions for the full cafe aroma breakfast. Will return again if possible!

Nice clean and value for money, great £5 breakfast

I’ve visited cafe aroma three times over the last three weeks. The food was okay. However each time, the owner had a awful attitude towards his staff. He would demean and berate a particular staff member infront of customers, especially towards the south Asian staff member. Not the friendliest of staff and the decor and food is basic but it’s okay for the value. There are nice cafes on the same road that are a bit more pricey but with much better quality food and atmosphere.

Went in today for breakfast as it was my birthday. couldn't really believe it that they give you a free breakfast on your birthday. Well a free meal of your choice but I opted for the breakfast. Very well cooked really friendly staff and very clean atmosphere. food is very tasty and cooked well. don't have to wait long either. would definitely recommend and will be returning very soon inshallah. keep up the good work guys What more can I say

Visité esta pequeña joya por casualidad debido al trabajo local. Mis primeras 3 visitas tuve la lasaña ya que fue una de las mejores que he probado en mi vida. Luego, los días 4 y 5 tuve la hamburguesa con queso y cebolla caramelizada que me dejó alucinado. Sus pequeños lugares compensados como este hacen la mejor comida a un precio razonable. ahora visito al menos una vez a la semana

Nice, friendly set back, relaxed , family atmosphere, good food, generous portions, clean. We were visiting from London and stopped here on both . Kids enjoyed the food too

A great place for delicious big portions of food at good price. Never had a meal that I regretted ordering. The staff are friendly and the place is nice. I would recommend their English Breakfast, American egg burger, Cooked Dinner, lasagna and the gravy.. always coming back for more!

Cafe Aroma's vegetarian breakfast is the best around in Cardiff. The portions are huge and include all my favourites, either Quorn or Linda Mccartney sausages, mushrooms, toast, hash browns etc. They also do omelette's, burgers (including veggie) which my family has enjoyed. Also, the pancakes are very good and are tasty, which come with various fillings.Their pricing is reasonable as well and the cleanliness of the cafe is superb. The staff are constantly cleaning the tables and are always friendly, willing to accommodate your needs.The cafe is also great for students as they do student discount and is located just minutes away from the city centre.

The Chicken dinner available on Fridays & Saturdays is very nice. The gravy is excellent. They also do a beef dinner.

Lovely place to go for breakfast/brunch, would recommend people to try their crepes and english fry ups

Had v bad experience this morning Totally weird attitude of staff. Horrible food and no respect for customers ar all.

oreded two breakfast today one for a child and a adult, breakfast looked good service there from the Turkish owner terrible, the condiments were there and the salt and pepper was left open and salt went all over the breakfast so told the lady working there .she said she will replace it....waited 30 to 40 minutes, and the owner call the staff and says charge her for onother one why when it was not even my daughters fault ,it's not about the money who ever sat there before left the caps loose of the salt ...waited patiently for a while and felt like leaving and and then the owner that rents the place asks would you like I onther one No we have been waiting for a while , why make us wait ??? Turkish owner is an IDIOT and does not how to talk to people or his staff, it's not about the breakfast it the service 0

Burger bland no flavour. Milkshake ok.

Initially wanted to go for breakfast but ended up having lunch. I ordered the chicken burger (meal), the chicken was homemade and was very tasty and filling. The others ordered meat lasagne and chicken mayo panini which they enjoyed. There is free 1hr parking in front so that's convenient. Service was okay but it's cash only.

This cafe is hidden in Crwys road in plain sight. At first it didn't draw our attention, but as we'd tried most things in the area, we decided to give it a go. The menu is huge, and so are the portions, both in quantity and flavours. The prices are on the cheap side. Friendly staff, cosy classic cafe atmosphere, and they have some good meal deals. I'm a vegetarian, my friend isn't, we both had yummy food, and left with full bellies, and we're planning to go back soon!

Best place in Cardiff to have halal English breakfast

The layout of the place is great, the breakfasts are satisfying, and their pancakes and waffles are divine. A bit of a shame they don’t open any earlier than 09:00am.

I loved this cafe previously but now under new management and standards have dropped. I ordered lentil soup and was really disappointed as it could have been out of a tin.

We've had lunch here several times in the past. Cafe Aroma is very unassuming from the outside and could easily be overlooked. This is one of our favourite cafes to stop in to for a bite to eat and a cuppa on the way home from the city centre. The staff are great and always really friendly. Cafe Aroma's menu has so much choice for all occasions, although for us we are completely hooked on the "spicy lamb wrap" and therefore have not tried much else on the menu. The portions are huge for the price and the quality of the food is amazing! This is definatly one of those little gems that I almost don't want to tell everyone about in fear that there won't be any empty tables (or any spicy lamb left!!) the next time we go in!

The food here is amazing presented beautifully and very tasty. Staff are friendly and on hand for anything you need. Standards of hygiene are very high the place is spotless. Worth a visit and a diamond of a place on Crwys road.

We walked into the cafe for brunch one afternoon, the lady behind the counter stared at us the whole time and made me a feel a little uncomfortable. We said “Hello” to no response... after deciding what to order, we headed to the counter. After a “how are you?”, again to no response, the lady nodded to another member of staff who abruptly said “cash only”. Although I had cash, we popped our coats on and headed elsewhere.

The food is very nice and the service is good. Food came fast and the foods are served in big portion especially the breakfast. Ate it for breakfast and is full until lunch.

Been going here for 10 years. You must try the Oreo milkshake. The halal English / welsh breakfast - sausages turkey bacon, beans toast coffee for £6. Wife loves the lasagna daughter loves the spaghetti bogalanse. Good black coffee. 10 out of 10 xxx

found hair in my food today it was disgusting never will go back there for food

The breakfast deal is ok. But since the new management it has gone downhill. I always find hair in my food. Not just 1 time but on 3 occasions. I did explain the situation and they gave my money back. But that's not the point. I used to be a regular their but I'm a bit unsure about going their for breakfast cause I'm worried about the food handling.

Went again and wow, its been freshned up, its had a beautiful face lift,modern clean and service was gooooood fast they treat you like family,nothing is hassle to the new owner... well done keep it up see you soon! I went for a breakfast with my wife and we both had the big breakfast wich it was nice and i have no complaints at all about the food, but in the other hand the staff is not customer friendly, there was not any reception it seemed like they didn't want us to be here. Then when i finish the waitress just grabbed my plate took it off the table didn't ask how it was or nothing, i just felt the staff where working angry or something like that. I wish you could improve that cos the food is good.. my visit was at around 11am 18/05/17. Thanks

We booked a group of 13 to go to this cafe. It was awesome. Although I had a chicken salad which was awesome, the rest of the group went fro fry ups which in themselves looked fabulous. Very well priced, great staff. An absolute gem of a place.
