Cafe Andaluz City Centre in Glasgow City

I have been a few times in the past to Cafe Andaluz - never been a huge fan but it was usually OK. The last time I went with some friends, it wasn't good. The prices had gone up considerably (like everywhere else) but they have started slapping on a service charge on too, which is something I really dislike. The staff were really nice and attentive though - can't fault them. We all had 3 tapas each and shared them. The tortilla was lukewarm and bland and came with some sort of cold ratatouille, which was bad. The patatas bravas were OK but also somewhat bland. The battered prawns were OK. The padrone peppers were only partially good - some were done properly, the others were brick hard and under cooked. The paella didn't have much more than rice in it and again was bland and had never seen a shred of saffron. Overall, everything tasted like it was all microwaved frozen dishes - being a chain, that might just be the case. And it wasn't even terribly good value eithe To drink I had an aperol spritz, which was quite watery. The barraquito coffee which came with a piece of tablet was the best part of my meal.

Atmosphere, service, taste - yes, yes, yes We took our daughter for dinner on a Monday night. As country yokels from Angus, we were not sure we would enjoy tapas but we were blown away by how delicious the food was. The evening was made by the fabulous atmosphere, decor, delicious food and above all the excellent service from our wonderful waiters, Angel from El Salvador and Viniet from Delhi. Hard-working, friendly guys, along way from home, setting high standards of service for all of us to benefit from. Thank you 🙏

Cosy and well-decorated restaurant. We were seen to quickly and our order was taken by a friendly waiter. The food was served quickly and was warm and tasty, flavourful. When our bill came, we complied with the pre-added and presumptuous, 10% charge. Although the waitress looked like it pained her to smile and say thank you. All in all nice restaurant with a few things to improve on.

Cold Buffet style Tapas 😢 Been to Tapas places before and get items served fresh once cooked. We ordered 12 tapas items and within 5 mins they were all served. Sadly they were all lukewarm. The paella looked like it had been cooked early on and kept in an oven as the outer part was crispy. The prawns, mussels, calamari were all lukewarm. The chorizo was swimming in oil and so salty and the black pudding and chorizo was more like soup and it must have been in the hot hold so long the black pudding had turned mushy. It’s a shame as we spent £170 and it was for my daughter birthday. Did not want to complain as it was a birthday. Have visited Topolobamaba were the food is served fresh and once cooked. Again this sadly felt like it was a buffet style 🥹

The food was really good and a nice setting for a couples dinner. Variety of dishes we ordered were really nice. Exceptions would be the Mushroom dish was bland and the Creamy garlic potatoes could also do with more seasoning. All in all a good meal. Disappointed to receive the bill with a 10% mandatory tip added on, I do not agree with this. I can understand in circumstances for a large table but for 2 people who had drinks order taken, food order taken and bill provided at the end and they have the cheek to add a mandatory charge for service. I would have came back again for the food but would have second thoughts after hidden charges.

Beautiful food lovely service made to feel special when ordering the food and that was delicious .The only thing I don’t like is the stairs to the toilet but I keep going back as it is well worth the money

We where here one year ago and came a gain to Glasgow over the weekend. The first thing we did was going again to this restaurant. And OMG the food and the service is fantastic. Highly recommended this place for everyone that love good food and atmosphere. Our favourite place

We had bought the Groupon deal at 39 per couple. Bread to start with olives and oil. Then 5 tapas choices which were all very tasty. Then a choice of sweet. Great value. Thoroughly enjoyed the food, atmosphere and the staff were attentive without being in your face. Niggles . Table was very cluttered with all the dishes when the tapas arrives, almost a balancing act as plates had to be stacked at one point. God forbid if we had all ordered wine where it would have went. Although I wanted to tip the automatic adding of service should be offered for removal, sure some people will be shocked to find that and especially when using a Groupon deal its the whole price not just the add ons consumed during the meal. Lastly the wine was pretty expensive for such a small amount. All this taken into account I would eat here again.

Ate a late dinner, again. Started with some drinks, and chose several tapas to share. Everything we ate was so good! We had tapas in Madrid back in NOV, and this place was just as good!

My husband and I had dinner here recently. We ordered 5 to 6 tapas plates and dessert! Our server was so helpful in helping us order different dishes. Everything tasted amazing.

Ah! just fantastic, we chose the Sunday £22.50 - Three Taps and sweet option and weren't disappointed. The Asparagus was fine for sure, the chili prawns were done in an amazing sauce, the potatoes were very nice, the mussels were delicious, the chicken (batter) honey mustard was very special, garlic bread and the meat and for meat balls.....The service was brilliant, such a hard working crew. will defo be back

I am surprised by how many good reviews this place has, as it failed to deliver on all counts. It is clearly popular as it was packed on a Wednesday evening. We ordered the patatas bravas, calamares and chorizo to start. The potatoes were not crispy, the tomato sauce was bland and ours was topped with sour cream & chive dip which was awful. The calamari and chorizo were again quite bland and I'd be surprised if the calamari was fresh and not just out of a packet. The lowlight was the mixed paella for two, it was awful. There was absolutely zero flavour, there was no crust (socarrat), the squid, chicken and prawns were so overcooked and rubbery it was unpleasant. The fish was actually not too bad, but again the only flavour came from the squeeze of lemon over the top. The service was not too bad, but I can only think the Spanish staff working there would be disappointed in what Glaswegians are being served as Spanish food. Please stay away if you know what Spanish food should taste like.

Booked due to looks of good reviews about this place and I was not disappointed! As soon as you walk in you are greeted by staff and we’re quickly taken to our table. The interior of the restaurant is gorgeous and it felt like you were in Spain! We were soon greeted by our waiter who was polite and efficient! The food was well presented and couldn’t get over how delicious it all tasted. I would definitely recommend going, I would love to go back and try there brunch menu! Great food and service!!
