Great grub and lovely coffee. Adam is is superb server and cannot do enough for you.

1/4/24 i read a review that they have scones as most cafés do & I think they're HOMEMADE, but I will find out the next time i'm in Cumernod. Most scones r varied - like plain, fruit, treacle, cheese & cherry BUT in this café there r a few more that i've never heard of b4. So over you go & check them all out. The person in the review had a lemon & white chocolate one & sang the praises of it & that's ONE of the main reason i ventured over & also to check out the many ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ reviews. Well the lemon & chocolate scones gets a 10/10 the only thing about it was a bit crumbly when I tried to cut it in halve as u can see, & I forgot to ask if it could be heated up a wee bit, a few folks like them het up. At least my broccoli 🥦 & cheese WATTERY soup was hot enough & the small cheese & onion toastie tasted very nice - at least u could taste the NON BLAND cheese 🧀 in it 👍 I don't know if my coffee was piping hot🔥when it came, but it soon cooled down to only warm when I came to drink it, so I asked one off the 5 pleasant waitresses that I have spoken too if I could have some hot 🔥 water to heat it up & it wasn't a problem for her to give me some hot water. So there u have it & I will certainly make a return visit & hopefully their LENTIL soup will be nice & thick.

9/10 times we have a fantastic time here. Sometimes seems understaffed though - staff too busy to come check on you etc but it's understandable. Everything we have tried here food wise has been lovely, especially the cakes, which taste homemade. Unfortunately had a bad experience on Monday but staff were very nice about it and didn't charge me for the meal we had to send back. Really appreciate the service guys and will be back!

Very relaxed with excellent food and service. I have been several times and will be going again. My only complaint is that they don't open later at night. The food and atmosphere would make a great dinner date.

My kids and I dine here almost every week and we all love it. My son is a massive fan of the French toastie. Great service and amazing food, you definitely get what you pay for!!

Think this company have let winning awards go to their heads. Popped in for a cuppa with a colleague because I'd rather support local businesses. We ordered 2 coffees a cake and a scone. Scone was like a brick and wasnt served warm. Didnt manage to finish it. Coffee wasn't that hot however my colleague and I had a long day so we just accepted it. When I went to pay I couldnt believe we were almost £16 - I didnt want to say anything as the day had been taxing enough. We didnt find staff overly friendly and were made to feel like we popped in at closing time (3pm?). I have been in several times over the years but that last visit was not enjoyable. I don't recommend this cafe sadly,

Great food and reasonable prices. The breakfast is excellent but so are the kids meals. It opens at 9am on Saturday , not 830 as Google says. Take away food and cakes are also great.

I have been going to Cafe Alba for a number of years now and I can't rate it highly enough. The food is always spot on and hot when it arrives, beautiful coffee and the staff are always super friendly and can't do enough to help you

Place is great, breakfast rolls are all ways delicious and staff are beyond pleasant and helpful. The Liverpudlian guy is always very friendly.

We go regularly for breakfast or lunch with my 2 girls. Food is always amazing! Never had a bad meal. Staff are very attentive and friendly. Cafe is always spotless. 10/10!

The staff were amazing and so friendly. The food was perfect, had absolutely no complaints and I also took some caked home which were thoroughly enjoyed with a cup of tea.

Took the family here for brunch before we headed back to England. It was the best breakfast Iv had in Scotland. The staff were all very polite and helpful can’t wait to visit again

I frequent cafe alba with the missus. Nice place. I think the man that speaks partially Greek (stephen I think his name is) great man. Great worker. The morning rolls are nice, served quickly. Good quality rolls and square slice sausage. The missus loves it. She's threatening to get down on one knee this Feb 29th and said she was going to propose to me in cafe alba. So I'm steering way clear of cafe alba on that particular day. Kind Regards

Just had the most disgusting take away from Cafe Alba Cumbernauld. Two rolls on slicing sausage and the sausage was like rubber! We took them back to the manager as they were inedible. The manager said they didn't normallyget complaints. Welll if you continue to reheat left over rubber sausage from breakfast, you will soon get complaints.

I was surprised by how good everything was. Big mug of really good strong coffee & a cracking eggs benedict, one of my absolute breakfast/lunch favs. No wonder the place is elbow to elbow. Super selection of nice cakes too. Top notch.

I go into Cafe Alba one and sometimes with friends. Usually just for coffee toast or a Scone. Every time I do toast or Scone come first I sit waiting for toast/Scone toast is always cold so been sitting. Today I asked for coffee and toast together it still came separately no marmalade that ca.e 10mins later. I feel your food and drink should come together not 5 10 MINS LATER. Shame it puts me off coming I like my food a d drink together more so when I asked for it together. Please wake up and serve one customer at a time .

I fancied a roll on black pudding. Well all i got was a roll with one measly slice of black pudding in the middle. Sheer profiteering for what i was charged. The coffee was far to strong. When paying the bill the girl asked me if i enjoyed everything. I said to her about the coffee being too strong and i could not drink it. I never have this problem anywhere else. She said something about i should have asked for half a shot. Never had to do that anywhere else. Anyway she did not charge for the coffee. It is the last time I will go there.

Really good menu and nice cakes. Lovely, if not cosy surroundings. Only small gripe was really slow service. We had to ask twice for service 20 minutes after we’d finished first course.

Went there this Saturday for brunch. Ordered a Spanish omelette. Pretty sure it was a reheat! Was tasteless, hard and lukewarm. Went to Tesco cafe the next day. Much better food. Used to really enjoy cafe Alba but the quality has went right down.

My wife and I have just had lunch in the Cumbernauld restaurant and as usual it was great. The young staff are great in here helped by the senior members and all of them could work in any of the top class restaurant in the country. I was a dining room steward for 4 years in the Merchant Navy and I know great service when I see it.

Arriving at the Cafe I was met by a pleasant assistant who took me to a nearby prepared table. Shortly afterwards the assistant returned with their menu, my food requirements were taken, and then it was straight to the kitchen with my order. A few minutes later my food arrived, looking very appetising. It was pleasantly hot, tasty and freshly made. I had plenty of room either side of me to enjoy eating the food, and the table area sufficient to lay out my food plate, teapot, cup and saucer with room to spare. Prices were reasonable, the food was freshly made, arrived quickly and served up hot by pleasant staff.

Good food, lovely cafe atmosphere and in heart of town centre. One star off due to price which is in the upper end of acceptable cafe prices and huge difference in takeaway and sit in prices (around £3 per meal).

An unassuming cafe that turned out to be a very competent and tasty place to stop. Staff were very efficient, food arrived very fast and on hot plates. Nice seats in a clean and well run place. All the food was of a high quality with what appears to be well choosen and high quality stuff. Meat appears to be the good stuff and even the cake was obviously well made with good ingredients. For a cafe this is very good. Nothing what do ever to say negative.

Very slow service, took long to get silverware, had to ask again for the toasts, didn't get the brown bread we had asked for, disappointing Above is what I wrote a year ago. I rate it a 4 star, the service is great, quick, food is very good with lots of choices.

Went into Alba yesterday afternoon for a late to go, placed my order with the gentleman and was waiting for the girl to get my latte however once she had finished making two latte's for a colleague she turned round and said to the guy I am going to say hello to my niece and left me standing I thought the guy was going make my coffee but no he starts making table orders and I am still standing without any acknowledgement well that was it for me I then asked a girl to refund me the cost of the latte and the reply was no problem without even asking me what was wrong. I think the management need to take their staff aside and give them some customer service training ,good job I am not in charge because the girl that left me waiting would have all the time in the world to see her niece because she would have been putting her coat on and informed her services are no longer required.

Went for breakfast today. Place was spotless with staff cleaning tables and surrounds. Tables 1m socially distanced. Food was fresh and well cooked and was clearly quality. Wil definitely visit again.

Over priced. Was in with my daughter for lunch and charged £2 for a portion of coleslaw, the smallest portion at that. Customer service was awful. Was in on Wednesday and wasn't charged for coleslaw, pointed this out and was met with a shoulder shrug. Overpriced food with poor customer service but sadly not much competition in cumbernauld hence they are allowed to ROB customers

Visited today for lunch, staff were very helpful and showed us to a table quickly, we seen them cleaning it before we were seated which was reassuring.Service was quick for taking our order and the food arriving despite it being busy, and the food was very good. Just had a delicious afternoon tea delivery from Cafe Alba. My mum and I visit every Saturday morning for our coffee. When we saw they were doing deliveries thought we would give it a try. Substantial fresh sandwiches and very naughty strawberry tarts, plus a couple of tray bakes, Thoroughly enjoyed in our garden, after being delivered on time by a very pleasant girl. Would definitely recommend!!

I'm a regular visitor at this lovely cafe and l had a great breakfast this morning. There's only one thing that lets it down. The use of margarine instead of butter. I asked for extra toast with my breakfast and got two slices of toast covered in margarine. Firstly l don't expect my toast to be buttered for me I'm not a child and secondly l don't like or eat margarine it's cheap,nasty and tastes awful. I have spoken about this before but obviously it hasn't been taken on board. This is the kind of stunt l would expect from a greasy spoon cafe not an award winning one. They'll get one more chance before l buycott it completely. The service was very good as always.J Currie.

Called in for obligatory Sunday breakfast Fantastic selection with the ability to mix & match as required. Food arrives quick but always appears to be freshly cooked.

Usually the service is very good but my last visit was disappointing. Sat at the smallbar area as I was alone to leave the tables free. Sat there and removed my jacket took a phone call. After 15 minutes waiting to be served I noticed the staff were deep in conversation and laughing so I put on my jacket and left. Not one member of staff approached me when it was obvious I was leaving. I did try and attract their attention to no avail. I will certainly not be hurrying back soon. If you do visit ensure you sit at a table as the seats at the side are ignored. Poor poor service for a fairly regular customer.
