This is a new place to me and I'll definitely be back. The tomato soup (vegan) was excellent, I would have loved the bowl to have been more full as it was delicious. My friends had brunch and said how good the benedict was. Lovely manager who was so welcoming. Cakes looked incredible, unfortunately the vegan cheesecake was sold out. Lost 1 star from me because I needed the bowl to be more full and also there was no vegan spread for the wonderful toasted sourdough bread to dip in my soup. Honestly, I really enjoyed our visit. More vegan cakes please 😊.

Really friendly and nice staff, but the food was very disappointing. I had avocado and feta on sourdough bread, which cost £13. It was bland, tasteless, with poor quality bread, odd avocado paste and soggy salad. Vastly over priced poor quality food.

Très bon breakfast traditionnelle, porridge, granola,... Très bon rapport qualité prix. Je recommande vivement cet établissement.

Very warm welcome and helpfully stored our luggage whilst we ate. Tables slightly close together so maybe removing even removing ones in front of counter would help. Veggie breakfasts well cooked and not greasy, breakfast rolls very highly recommended also. Lovely coffee and setting, would return.

Great food, nice ambiance, lovely coffee and cake. That sums it up. We were looking for a quick bite and found this place. The food was well made and very filling.

Really lovely mid-afternoon lunch with a twist on traditional eggs benedict: adding avocado and serving it on sourdough bread was a delicious surprise. Service was pleasant and efficient and the cafe had a fun, comfortable vibe.

Lovely cafe with great food and drinks. I recommend the rolo traybake. This is the second visit and still same great food. Only grip would be the price, slightly expensive when your with a family. Also would love to have cream on the menu to go with their delicious scones.

This is a nice cafe with nice friendly staff and the soup was very nice . I would add that £6 for a box standard bacon roll that was ok is just now getting silly ……. I sometime think that Edinburgh is really only out to extract as much from the tourists as it can . As a local well pity as I like this cafe and have been previously but sorry £6 nope I ain’t doing it again. VFM hmm 🤔

We stopped off here for a coffee mid-afternoon. Needing a break from the madding crowd this place was an oasis. Nice relaxing vibe, good service and excellent scones - especially the cheese ones

First visit & won’t rush back. Welcome was non existent even though staff weren’t doing anything. Front sitting area was busy so looked through the back for a table & eventually they suggested a front table to us. Waited ages for our order to be taken whilst staff chatted. Seats are so crammed together that it’s uncomfortable to sit in the front section. You feel that the table next to you is sitting on top of you. Won’t be back which is a shame as the Coffee & pastry were delicious.

This cafe is in an excellent location. We stumbled upon it whilst looking for somewhere for lunch. We were pleased they offered a vegan panini which was really good and was served with a fresh salad. We shared a bowl of chips between us but couldn't finish as we were both full. All the staff were friendly, polite and efficient. The cafe is light, airy, modern and immaculately clean. There were also a few tables outside. The toilet facilities were also of a high standard.

Great little restaurant for lunch - pretty quick service, lovely people and good food. And excellent vanilla milkshakes. The place got busier after we arrived and staff were hard pressed but remained calm and so pleasant. We actually went because my wife and a friend went there for lunch about 3 weeks ago and recommended it. She was right. As always.

Unprofessional and not clear with their rules, didn't let people in for being under 18, even tho the event organisers made it clear that it's for under 18 aswell. The guard / one in charge/ jennie was also SMOKING INSIDE THE BUILDING.

The noodles were excellent thick and chewy. The braised beef brisket was full of flavour, tender and bitey. The broth was very flavourful. It retained clear nourishing quality. If you look for a freshly- made beef noodle soup in Edinburgh, look no further. It is a place you simply must try.

First night of Lotus Leith was fab… Thai prawns… the juiciest satay chicken… flavourful fluffy bao buns and homemade dumplings and spring rolls 😊 All served with the tastiest asian slaw that I’d happily scoff a bowl of on its own…. Give it a try. Can’t wait to see how the menu develops 😊

Went to watch the rugby with friends and have food. Staff were very attentive and helpful. As a vegan the menu was good with plenty of choice . Will be back for sure . Our waiter was rob and he couldn’t have been more helpful
