Cafe 19 in North Tyneside

Nice locations overseeing the city of metro with fresh air blowing the whole open area. There's also a free band performing live at night.

Always here for UDD and Armi Millare. I hope they will always give shows for my favorites 😍🥰🤩 will definitely come back for them, anytime! hahaha 🤗

Bands for that particular night - 21st of Feb - Lovecore, Hey June!, 6CycleMind and of course The Dawn - were really excellent! Sound system was good, the techs were excellent, waiters were attentive. Food is just not that good for the price!

A great place for live music. Parking is not a problem. The outdoor sitting is also very nice since it affords vistas of Laguna de Bay. Too bad, I'm from Quezon City.

Great atmosphere, delicious food (a bit pricey, but hey, you want good service, you should pay for it). First to come serve seats, so if you want to have front seats, you must come early. Quite tricky to go around when it is a full house but still, you will enjoy the atmosphere. It will not disappoint you.

The hype about this place is true. It is one of, if not the best sounding venue I've ever played short of high-end private events. The people manning the tech booth know what to do and are very accommodating with requests and preferences, especially when communicated with enough time for them to set things up properly. Bring your own gear for better chances at nailing that perfect 19 East experience. Bucket list and for the books level stuff. Highly recommended. Also, apart from it being a gig place, it also has a big, lovely al fresco garden area, with trees, a fountain, an outdoor bar, and even seating with a view. It can get cold and windy at night, like when we were there. Guests with kids can have them run around and play in parts where it won't be a bother while they sit down nearby and sip or eat something.

Served us the toughest calamaris I've ever had. We told the waiter and he said that's how they serve it and did not offer a refund so okay, we're not happy to come back again.

Sucks! Sound check taking so long....The Band should've done it prior to starting. Can't have a decent conversation when all you can hear is a person testing the microphone over and over again for about half an hour! Not a good experience for us coming to this place.

Friendly, warm, accomodating and professional staff. Sound system and ambiance is also perfect. However please note that they dont accept credit card payment so better to prepare cash or gcash. The place is bit challenging to reach specially if you will commute bcoz it’s in sucat service road and this area known to be challenging for commuters but once arrived it is all worth it. Food is expected to be expensive bcoz it is a bar and resto. I tried their pork sisig and its really good. Thank you 19th East and Jinky Vidal for the best gig ever.

The drinks here so terrible. They use 20pesos juice power to make a cocktail, and sale it 400 . Omg .

Went last Nov 20,2023 with our high school friends and one of our baliknayan high school bestfriend. It was a blast. The only downside was Nina sang 3 songs only,we were expecting more hence the entrance that night was hefting 3500 😔

The food was great! Live bands and sound systems were great as well. Everything was great especially the waiter who assisted us on Nov. 11, 2023 with Mayonnaise 21st anniversary. I did not ask the waiter's name but we were at table 22. Thank you.

Googled best breakfast in Whitley Bay for my birthday. Prepared to wait . They gave our breakfasts to customers who came later :( We ordered one without tomatos both came with tomatos. No hash browns no bacon . Complained got a side plate of bacon and sausages obviously thrown in deep fat fryer . We had 2 pots of tea before food turned up Had to order another pot . When we complained before paying they knocked that one pot off.

The service is terrible, the 2 lads that were on today were beyond useless, I witnessed 3 people go up to the bar to ask for the bill as they weren’t attentive at all. Also tables left messy and dishes not collected. The food was just ok and not value for money, black pudding was burnt to a crisp and the potion was small… utter sh!te. It was so much better as cafe 19, (it’s now called The Beach House) such a shame it’s been ruined. The lack of people in there should have told me all I needed to know. Also need to sort the emergency light out thats full of water on the ceiling, accident waiting to happen….

Service was absolutely terrible. Not up to standards. Let me tell u why. As soon as we got our cups, we noticed instantly that it was dirty and lacked hygiene because it had coffee stains from previous customers and overall not what a decent human being should be receiving when going out for brunch. When we received our food it was terrible as well because some of it was overcooked and undercooked. Not very good. They didn’t seem fussed about hygiene and was careless about it. I don’t think they know about the health and safety work act in cafes. Service didn’t ask us for butter for toast and milk for tea and basic condiments. We had to keep asking them for stuff and doing it ourselves when they should be doing their job.

Visited this cafe twice, have to say brilliant. Interior was lovely and new, spacious and comfortable. Food is cooked fresh to order, great coffee and my wife loved the smoothies. Would highly recommend a visit here if you’re in the area.

This is no longer Cafe 19 but Cullercoats Coffee. Refurbished, but has lost all that was good. Always full now at lunch time and near empty. Menu breakfast, full English, poached eggs etc, and small selection of toasties. Gone the cheery young staff the bustling counter filled with cakes and scones and the delightful menu of salads sandwiches, toasties etc. A young man brought menus waited ten minutes came for order to tell us no food as no hot water, and didn’t know when it would be back on, why couldn’t we have been told on arrival ? We were pleased for an excuse to leave. Won’t be back.

Used to be a great place that we visited fairly regularly. We visited on carnival day, hoping that Cafe 19 had not changed too much since being taken over by Cullercoats Coffee. Unfortunately everything that made it 'Cafe 19' has gone - including menu, cosy interior, pleasant outdoor seating area. Even the original brick and terracotta facade of the Victorian building has been obscured with black paint. Considering it was carnival day, the cafe was woefully understaffed and, even though when we arrived the inside was virtually empty, it still took ages to receive first our drinks (coffee not very hot) and then another long wait for food. The food was good, although the menu is limited compared to previously. It seems a shame to keep the name, but change pretty much everything else about the place.

Unfortunately since being taken over , this place has gone downhill. We were big fans of the place beforehand but after our visit today we probably won’t return unfortunately. The service was really terrible, only seemed to be one lad dealing with customers on a busy bank holiday. Some staff constantly walked past people waiting without acknowledging them and cleared tables rather than taking orders. We sat for a long time without have any order taken and ended up ordering on the app. The food itself was actually quite nice although the menu is a lot smaller and limited than what it used to be.

Unfortunately the new Cafe 19 is a shadow of the old establishment. The menu is seriously reduced, the interior is very sterile and the full breakfast that we had was very poor compared to the one you used to get in a skillet. Previously you would have been lucky to get a table on a Sunday, but it’s probably a sign that there was plenty of empty tables. On a positive note the staff are very friendly.

First time I’ve been in the cafe since the Cullercoats Coffee team have taken over. I was pleasantly surprised - like the clean, bright decor, happy with breakfast choices and friendly service. Really enjoyed the eggs Benedict- the bacon was really tasty. Only downside was the slow service.

Have been to this place a few times before and was great but it has seriously gone downhill since. The staff were pleasant but had no idea of what good service means. Ordered eggs on sour dough, as advertised, and was brought eggs on tiger bread. The waiter attempted to tell me it was sour dough! Then checked with chef. No offer to change them but to be honest didn’t want to wait again so just went with the flow. We ordered a second round of teas and coffees. The tea pot came but the expectation was to use the same cup. A brownie was ordered which never came. Asked for the bill twice before being told to go and pay at the counter where there was a queue. At this point, I said to friends we may get a parking ticket if they don’t hurry up. The man behind the counter said the cafe would not be paying my parking ticket. Maybe an apology rather than a sarcastic comment would have been more welcome! Oh and how about a discount for the poor service, wrong food and general lack of quality. Such a shame as this place used to be so good

Cafe 19 is still good since the takeover but not the same. It's such a shame that so many of the unique and original choices from the menu have been discarded and the interior quirkiness lost. That said the coffee was good, the food nice and the service pleasant. I will go again but maybe not make a special visit just to eat there like we used to.

Our visit was on a sunday morning.We ordered a club sandwich and a toastie which we eventually received an hour after ordering. We were told at one time after about 50 minutes wait that our food was being plated this then took another 10 minutes. Our order was not a complicated order so not sure what the problem was.It was busy but surely that is something any good cafe can cope with considering the food menu was not extensive. A neighbouring couple had also waited 45 minutes for their simple breakfast. The waiting staff were nice and did give us our second round of teas free as a gesture.However we will not be returning.Food nothing exceptional and quite pricey for what it was.

We stumbled across this cafe when we stayed the weekend in Whitley bay. We really liked the decor and atmosphere. The menu had a good range of food options. We had the avocado on toast an our first visit and eggs Benedict and Turkish eggs on our second visit. The food was delicious, really tasty and good portion sizes. The only negative was the bloody Mary’s we had were watery and bland. On the whole we enjoyed our experience here and would recommend

Went to Café 19 for a breakfast and was surprised how busy this place was. We ordered full breakfasts and the were excellent, the staff were friendly and efficient making this a great choice if you are looking for very good quality at a reasonable price and the coffee is excellent. Went there for the Urbandub event. They weren't prepared for the volume of people. Long line to enter with a manual ticket system. Waited for an hour before they can take our food order. Waited another hour for the food itself to come one by one. Sound system is not enough for the outdoor space. Saving grace was the band itself and the accommodating and apologetic server who was also overwhelmed. Hopefully they can make improvements for future events.

The best place for live band music. good food and good ambiance. Though they have big parking, i hope they will even the potholes. Not good for low profile cars. Also, i hope they will change their outdoor chairs as it is old, small, and uncomfortable.
