Cafe 108 in Havering

Ordered a stack of 6 pancakes with seasonal fruit. Received one cut up strawberry and about 6 blueberries. The cream was melted. Pancake to fruit ratio is terrible. I paid a lot of money and was very dissapointed!

We had a lovely time at the cafe 108 and Terry was so lovely and great with the kids and welcomed us with a smile.

I had a strange experience here. I ordered a breakfast, which was OK, but part way through eating I noticed something blue on the bread which looked to be mould. I alerted the waitress and she took the meal away. The staff were pleased to tell me that it wasn't mould and it was blue roll from when they have been cleaning the surfaces. It seemed they felt this would be OK. I explained I still wasn't happy whether it was mould or blue roll. I'd rather not eat paper with cleaning products on it. The other customers in the cafe were advising me that I shouldnt pay for the meal and I didnt imagine that the manager would want payment after I ate a quarter and it was taken away with the blue roll. My coffee was nice but the price is steep for what it was. When I approached the counter to pay for my coffee the manager rang up the full price for my breakfast and coffee. I reminded her my breakfast was the one with the blue roll. She said oh yes of course, and took £1 off the bill. ONE POUND!. I said this isn't acceptable, I didn't eat my breakfast and have been giving a meal with cleaning products included. I expected that I wouldn't pay for the little bit of spinach and a mushroom I ate. The manager then only required payment for the coffee. Despite this experience, I have heard great things about cafe 108 and would try it again. The other customers in the cafe said there has been a change in owner or management and things have nose dived due to that. However this is the first time I've visited the cafe, so I can only speak at length about my own experience. My friend who ate with me had a great meal with no issues

Absolutely delicious food! The salmon was grilled to perfection. The tenderstem broccoli still had a light crunch - which I loved. My son said his burger was amazing. The staff are friendly and courteous. There is a homely, family vibe there. ❤️

Brilliant little place, busy with customers (with great food I can see why!) fair prices for fantastic quality food and great service. I asked for something not on the menu and the staff fully catered which was lovely. Great atmosphere and amazing staff.

Never going to rate as the cheapest breakfast in town but without a shadow of doubt will be up there with the very very best. You get what you pay for. Food was exceptional on all levels with service to match the 2 girls waiting on tables gave a master class on customer service. Well done ladies don't ever compromise that it is so important. We were made to feel like we were the most important customer in the place. Would highly recommend them

A really fabulous cafe. Quick friendly service. Incredible variety of hot and cold delicious food and drinks. Really enjoyed our lunch and left patting full tummies.

Went here on a Sunday for a amazing home cooked roast, defiantly recommend!!! All the food coming out the kitchen looked sooo good.

Very smart and comfortable cafe, super friendly staff and delicious food cooked to perfection, highly recommended excellent value for money.

Food is decent however I have noticed three times now that they add stuff to the bill/over charge you. Original owners are lovely. The two blonde waitresses are not.

Lovely breakfast, although they didn't give us the toast that was 'included', fast service and friendly, didnt have to wait long at all, the place is great after its recent refit, lovely and clean.

Edit: 04/09 this officially the best place to eat the most authentic sausages with your fry up. Amazing 👌🏽The food here is great, the service is fantastic. Staff can't do enough for you and always with a smile on their faces. Very experienced and willing to go above and beyond. Ed runs a great cafe and the recent addition of the dinosaur is one I'm here for, my son loves it! Will be back again and again ❤️😍

Top-class customer service and delicious food! Popped in for a lunchtime breakfast after a wedding in the area the previous day and the breakfast was exactly what I needed, and it was made even better by the friendliness of all the staff. I brought six of my students to the cafe for drinks after visiting the college. We were made to feel very welcome and the students confirmd that the milkshakes were fantastic!

today I went to the café 108 today and I got a Oreo milkshake and it taste lovely. The service was fantastic also the atmosphere was amazing. I will definitely be coming back to the café 108 see you again soon.

Always go to the outside hut in summer to grab a milkshake which is really good, but today decided to actually go inside for breakfast... the food was expensive but really good with decent portions. Would definitely recommend

Update to bean Gate. The Beans are now served in a container. Photo attached. Review for the breakfast. Lovely fresh high quality ingredients and very well cooked. I have one complaint that prevented 5 stars being awarded.The baked beans were just poured into the tray along with the rest of the food rather than in their own container. For delivery that meant my meal arrived a bit of soggy mess. When I asked the staff about this the lady said they always do that. Come on guys this is just plain wrong. Who wants to eat something after its been swimming in bean juice for over 10 minutes? Need to sort that out.

I love this place! It's one of the local cafes in my area and its been a staple for a quick breakfast or lunch run while working from home. My family and I occasionally go and have Sunday brunch as well. The staff are always friendly and the clientele is varied to say the least (keep fit groups, cyclists builders and families) but the cafe is doing something right as everyone keeps coming back! Great portion sizes and a varied menu means all tastes are catered for. The only thing I would advise is getting there at a good time as it can get really busy and you may have to wait a while to get a seat inside the main area (they do have additional seating at the back of the restaurant with patio heaters if it gets a bit chilly).

We love this place! Heart of the community. Ed and his team always make you feel welcome and pay attention to all customers. The kids love it for after school treats and the brunch is amazing! Great start to the morning, great food and friendly staff couldn't recommend more. Excellent all round.

It was absolutely awful. The waitress was very rude when we ordered the children’s meal, we was not asked if we wanted a milkshake or a drink and scoop of ice cream. we had to ask to be served as we was waiting for some time with no one coming over to us. The children’s meal we ordered was cheese pasta which I imagined to be in some kind of cheese sauce, but it was the cheapest spaghetti and margarita cheese you could find just slapped in a bowl and put in the microwave to heat up. The breakfast wasn’t very hot and the man that brought the food over, just slapped it on the table and walked off without even a smile or any kind of acknowledgement. Even when I said thank you, it’s like he didn’t even care for any kind of manners. I will not be returning to this place as it’s not a friendly environment.

We had an hour to spare so my daughter and I went in for a mug of tea each and to use the toilet. What lovely people they were and we both agreed it was an excellent mug of tea too. Would definitely recommend this cafe and will be returning. 5☆ from us. Best cafe in the area for sure and we could sit outside too. Lovely.

Absolutely love this cafe. Such a great atmosphere, amazing food and really friendly staff. Can recommend their 108 pancake special breakfast and also love their cute tea for one pots! Only thing is if you end up sitting at the end of the cafe you have to keep seeing the toilet if people leave the corridor door open but not the staff's fault.
