Cafe 1 in Epsom and Ewell

Pleasant environment, friendly staff, good variety of food and drinks available, (breakfast in particular), all well cooked and nicely presented.

Stopped here one Sunday lunchtime and was so impressed with the texture of the cappo' that we now visit most Sundays. I like the fact that there is a variety of seating options (cosy lounge sofas or table and chairs), and the cheesecakes are rather good, too!

This place was AMAZING! I don’t know about all the reviews saying horrible staff? I think those review are quite old because the staff this time were the friendliest I’ve ever experienced. Staff Always have lovely grins plastered on their faces! Honestly one of the best experiences ever! Would 100% recommend!

Went for brunch with my husband , food was delicious and young waitress served us was brilliant. While having my food noticed hair in it didn’t try to make big fuss about it as thing happens and I was nearly finished my food too. Later on while clearing our table tried to explain the lady waitress (who has been working there from very long time)about hair incident apparently she thought I’m joking, only thing she said I must have put hair in my own food as it’s only man chef working . Did not take any pictures as never thought someone gonna take it so lightly after seeing hair on plate.My only intention was to warn them to be more careful next time .Anyway found it really disgraceful not to say a single sorry after all it’s not that difficult and I wasn’t asking any favour. Really feel they need to get some communication skills not everyone put hair in their food and ask for discount.

Had the Breakfast special £9.95 Very nice .was hot and very tasty and a nice cup of coffee as this is included in the price Would recommend ,I will be going back

The first time we visited this cafe in the high street of Epsom. Good coffee and great crumpets with syrup and ice cream. Pleasant staff. Worth another visit.

Called for a breakfast while out with dog. Good sunny spot outside and shared my breakfast with Polly. Great food friendly service good value. Polly enjoyed the sausage.

I ordered a delivery and the moment I opened the food there was this long hair. Which made me a bit like weird in my mind. I am not sure what their hygiene policy is but this made me lost my appetite and I'm wondering how the person who packed it couldn't see it omg I would never order again from here

Staff very lovely but I wouldnt eat again I got peas and they came out they were brown , and we also got over charged but didnt relise until way home!

Huge menu, lots of choice. Great location, friendly staff. Have had breakfast and lunch here over the years and never disapoint.

Panini was half the size to other cafes very expensive for quantity. I will not be ordering from here again plus they add a:service charge on delivery never had this before

Food was really nice however the servings are a little small. One rasher bacon, 1 egg, i hash brown and one piece of toast.

This is a lovely place to have breakfast or lunch, love the omelettes and lattes. They also do a lovely lemon cake.

We've been going to Cafe 1 for many many years, mainly on Sundays, and have never been disappointed. Excellent service, delicious and excellent food and the best cappuccino, made by Hanna, ever! Since my last review in 2015 I have popped in to Cafe 1 for coffee on frequent occasions and each time the staff have been very friendly, good service and good quality coffee and snacks.

We mostly have full English breakfasts. Good, wholesome food, great coffee and friendly and efficient staff - ticks all the boxes for us!

Been coming to this cafe quite a few times and have been very happy with the food and service. The food is delicious and their fruit smoothies are so nice, my favourite being pineapple, banana and coconut. My children both love it there and they are both fussy when we eat out. Definitely recommend this lovely place as it has a wide range of food to choose from.

Not only did I get off chicken, but I physically saw the man bring over the food drop my knife and fork on the floor, the proceed to give it to me. The chciken was pink and stunk off egg. Not the first time I have had this type of service. Please avoid!

In the high street of Epsom great little cafe opposite the assembly rooms pub. Fancied something hot for a lunch. We'll the food they offer and prices charged goes without saying fantastic. Great service hot food hospitality of the staff fantastic. Would happy advise any one wanting a light lunch to an all day breakfast and smoothies. They got you coverd. Great place.

We needed a decent breakfast after a family party so Cafe1 was a perfect choice. Friendly, fast service and good food at a reasonable price. If I’m in the area again I’ll be back!

Nice convenient place for either a light snack and drink or a full meal. Varied menu. Lovely breakfasts and freshly squeezed orange juice.

Awful undercooked food but don't bother sending it back as you will be told its fine! plenty of better places to eat in Epsom but you could top this simply by eating out of the bin.

Food is not the best here unfortunately. Slow erratic service and a complacent chef doesn't help. The cafe itself is very clean though the toilet area isn't!

we were staying in Epsom for a couple of days and saw the café to popped in for lunch on Thursday. Omelettes with jacket potatoes. Which generally were nice but jackets seemed to suffer from being cooked and then microwaved to heat them up as they weren't crispy. Anyway not enough to stop us popping in for breakfast on Friday and Saturday morning.

i visit from time to time and always very good ive no complaints lovely food and polite staff , a bit tricky parking sometimes but not there fault , bang on food though !!

If ever i want a fantastic tasty Omelette, i don't hesitate to go to Cafe 1. The Omelettes are always consistently brilliant, and the Cappuccino is great too.

This is great little cafe that also offers take away food, well worth a visit. I have been coming here since i was a little girl and have memories in here, the staff are lovely and food is great, all cooked fresh and ready to order.

We’ve eaten here a couple of times now. My wife likes the bubble and squeak and the full English is well cooked and tasty. The staff are friendly and service is good. The only reason why I’ve not given this a five star rating, is because my wife’s poached egg was hard and the tea isn’t very strong. Other than that I would highly recommend this place to eat if your in or passing Epsom.

My fiancé and I visited on Saturday afternoon and it was very busy which is always a good sign. Quite a narrow space so unsure if a buggy or wheelchair could sit in the back, perhaps the front. We were seated promptly and decided on two hot chocolates to drink and they had a generous amount of cream in top, lovely! The staff were very friendly and polite with a smile.

Not too far into the high street, the sun shines in this delightful cafe. Light, spacious, warm and lively, whilst still being quiet enough to read a paper compared to say weatherspoons. Ladies toilet immaculate and everything worked. We were debating going to Organico but it looked closed and having a little look inside I couldn’t see any pastries and it just felt cold and uninviting, so we headed back to Cafe 1. I had a lovely warm pain au chocolat, cafe latte and freshly squeezed orange juice. The breakfast was perfect just how I remember it from years ago so it’s great to see they’re consistent. It was just over £20 for me and my boyfriend, which is a little bit expensive for breakfast but then we did order quite a bit. Great service. They really are doing everything right.

Coming to coffee uno often , always great food, nice prices , lots of different choices ! Last time had a croissant with Ham and cheese and orange juice , it was crispy and warm , really nice !!

Good food and friendly staff. Can get really busy. Tables are quite close together and if a couple the small tables are a bit too small, especially as the staff tend not to take empty coffee/tea cups away when your food arrives. We have been using this cafe for a long time and the cost is usuaaly good. However, the portions seem to have got smaller and some dishes don't have the same ingredients in them anymore, which is disappointing. Would still use though.

Auténtico Café sirve desayunos todos los días locales y mucho más. Variedad de hamburguesas, patatas asadas, ensaladas, postres. Buena comida. Gran relación calidad-precio y servicio. Agradable, el personal es amable. Nunca decepciona. Recientemente tuvimos un lavado de cara, así que es incluso mejor pinta que antes. Totalmente recomendado.

Tuvimos la suerte de encontrar este pequeño café cuando estaba lloviendo hoy en Epsom. Pedimos el zumo de naranja recién exprimido, que era increíble, y patatas chaqueta con frijoles y queso. Fueron cocinados a la perfección con la perfecta relación de frijoles y queso soltera que la próxima vez que venga a epsom, no hay duda acerca de donde estaremos recibiendo el almuerzo!

Tan bueno como siempre, nunca decepcionó sobre este lugar. Me encanta el café 1. Lugar parece mucho mejor con ellos nuevas decoraciones, deberías probar la delicia de pollo, es tan sabroso muy bien marinado, quieres comer cada día.

We were staying at the Travelodge while visiting family. We found this by googling cafes in the local area. The cafe offers good value for money food and drink. They serve plenty of options for breakfast and are quite happy to vary the options. The place is immaculate and the service quick and friendly. The breakfast was so good we went both days of our stay.

We love going here and probably eat breakfast here twice a month - warm friendly service quick and always the correct order - we always have the fresh orange juice too !

I use this café as often as I can on shopping visits to Epsom. I've been visiting it for years and have seen it change it's looks like the refurbishment done last year. However, one thing that has never changed is the variety on the menu and the level of staff attention which is always excellent.

This cafe is brilliant, the service is always fantastic, greeted at the door and then never forgotten about during your stay. The menu has all breakfast options and meal options. The coffee is fresh with real espresso.I go about once a month and cannot fault it.

The vibe in here is lovely. Very friendly and the menu is very varied which is unusual but very refreshing for a cafe. I had the breakfast 14 and it was delicious. I was served by the wonderfully charming and charismatic Dylan who made my visit even better!

I have to be in and out in 40 mins as I am time limited at lunch time. I visit at least once a week. Quick, friendly service. Very reasonably priced. I support Independent Businesses. This is the best Café in Epsom for cleanliness and value for money. New decore looks lovely too.

Went to cafe 1 this morning for some scrambled eggs. Asked for 4 scrambled eggs on toast, i needed a spoon to eat them! Very poor quality. Watered down and very dry. And at £4.50 id expect better quality.

Last Sunday we went to Cafe 1 customer service was very good I had liver and bacon and all the trimmings , my husband had for a complete change Seafood Pasta both meals were excellent .Nice atmosphere in there as it is widely known in Epsom very reasonably priced when I revewed the cafe before I thought it was expensive but since I have eaten out a lot it isn't .Two very hungry people went in and Two very full happy people came out .

Excellent food have eaten there many times there for years!! Everything on there menu is cooked to perfection . Very friendly staff & good service too. Fair prices & not expensive !! Generous portions on all meals . It is waitress service so don't expect to pay cafeteria prices !!! . Just wish they were open longer hours !!

My family and I are very loyal customers and have visited Café 1 MANY times because the service and food are always top notch! Whatever you feel like eating (all day brekkie, sandwiches, pasta, light bites, bigger meals ...) everything is always delicious! They are very accommodating and flexible if you want to tweak anything on the menu to suit your taste. For example, adding extra garnishes to the sandwiches, or an extra sausage to the breakfast. I am not surprised that it is such a popular place to eat in the daytime. I just wish they were open for dinner too!

We went to Cafe 1 when if first opened but moved away from the area some twelve years ago. We were delighted to find that it was still open when we returned recently. We were even more delighted to find that the food and drinks were still of the same exceptional quality. They offer and extensive range of both hot and cold drinks and food from simple croissants through to full meals. Service is efficient and friendly. It is frequented by regulars who, we noticed, were greeted like friends but even complete strangers were made to feel very welcome. We will return next time we are in Epsom. If you want a drink, breakfast or lunch I would war le recommend Cafe 1.

Have been to this place dozens of times. They are consistently extremely friendly and flexible. Very varied menu but top quality every time. Food comes quick and hot and is always delicious. Great for breakfast and lunch.

I've always found the sandwiches to be of very high quality at this cafe. The bread is fresh and every filling I've tried has been perfect. The burgers are also very nice and generously portioned, overall there is a very nice variety of food ranging from main meals to pastries there's a good chance you'll find something on the menu you'll love. The chips are not the best but generously portioned so you're unlikely to leave this place hungry after a main meal.The staff are generally very friendly with the exception of the manager/head waiter who comes across as grumpy a lot of the time. However his staff more than make up for this hence I will always pop in for a light bite to eat when I pass by.

We popped in for breakfast. I would of expected a café in the middle of town, to have been buzzing at breakfast time, but not here, all but 1 table was empty when we sat down around 9am.The mushroom omelette had no taste to it, the chips were crispy. The eggs that my husband had were soft, he said that his ham had an odd taste to it, where the meals had been put on cold plates, they didn't stay warm for long.This was our first visit and it will be our last, we know of other cafes where the portion are bigger and the price is lower than we paid here.

Reasonable prices for a lunch. Can recommend the chicken fillet burger which I have every time! A real step up from Macdonalds for quick service and the bonus of table service.

The Penne all'Arrabbiata had so much chilli it burnt my face off! The coffee was super heated, and had very little flavour. On the plus side, the service was good and the establishment was clean. Will give it another go.

Unprofessional arrogant staff who way out number the customers. ..what customers. .3 on a Saturday afternoon when the town is heaving with people. ..food is sloppy uncooked and not fit for purpose. ..overrated and don't attempt pancakes as other horrified reviewers found. ..!!

Had a nice brunch and lunch here on separate occasions. Perfect for simple cafe food, certainly on the favourable end of the price range in comparison to other local alternatives.

I've been here a couple of times and I'm not a fan of this place. I ordered a cheese ploughman's for some reason once and just got a half a plate full of cheese some salad and half a plate of pickle it was weird, I've attached a picture lol Next time I went I didn't really rate it either. Wouldn't go again.

We went to the venue me and a mate for a breaky after a heavy night We both ordered different food he had one with beans I had one without But I like beans and he doesn't so we asked simply if they would put the beans on my plate instead of his which caused surprisingly an issue! I was charged extra for beans and even had them moan it caused more washing up it did make me laugh considering five months prior they under changed me by five pounds which I had to get them to check the frigging till forThe food is not the worst but limited portions which is annoying and they don't offer a large breaky which is a shame Coffee isn't bad though Cans of cola don't buy as they really do take the biscuit with the pricing Over all if you are a small eater and don't care about pricing then it's ok but consider your options which is limited in Epsom town

Where ever i went never found the taste that cafe 1 does this is the best ever cafe in town I have tried almost every food in the menu loved it so much if u r regular customer u don't need to order ur drink coz the drinks sits on the table before you sit; ))) excellent service highly recommend. ..

We have had lunch here many times when shopping in Epsom. Today was disappointing, the sandwiches were not up to the previous standard with the prawns being almost tasteless. The service is still friendly so perhaps it was just a bad day.

We haven't been in there for at least a couple of years but as the dates look like you can only go back to June that's what I clicked on .Portions we found were very small and then it seemed to cost a lot for what you get

we wish that , they open cafe 1 in our town where we live , the food , service and the price was excellent. Huge selection of menu, kids meal, applies to everyone, could not be better.

epsoms best cafe very delicious food excellent service thats why its been there for 20 years and very reasonable price in summer time if u want a real fruit smoothies milkshakes and tasty ice coffes ur in a right place . if u visit epsom dont go back without visiting cafe 1 i will deffinetly recommend ☺☺☺

My wife and I ordered the No6 breakfast (pancake,bacon and egg) this Saturday. Coffee and juice turned up and were fine and then the breakfast turned up and on seeing the state of the pancake, straightaway we both looked at each other and instantly new what each other was thinking......Big Mistake!Firstly I have to say the normal english breakfasts looked fine at other peoples tables.But never in my whole life have I seen or tasted such pale, insipid, limp and tasteless excuse for a pancake in my whole life. Unfortunately I was unable to get a photograph but I would describe it as similar in colour, look and texture of an off yellow, sponge kitchen wipe.If anybody served a pancake as bad as that in the US they would have been arrested by the FBI for crimes against food. I even tried to add some colour and taste by smoothering it with the accompanying maple syrup but alas even maple syrup cannot achieve mirricles of this magnitude and after one bite I just couldn't subject my mouth to anymore.My advice if you do venture into cafe 1 in Epsom is to stay well clear of their so called breakfast pancakes unless you need some kitchen cleaning sponges for home.
