Cadwaladers Tenby in Pembrokeshire

We visited this lovely little cafe 3 times during our recent holiday in Pembrokeshire. The team were all very polite, obliging, efficient and friendly. Nothing is too much trouble. Delicious food and all covid measures in place. Felt safe and comfortable.

We arranged to meet some family for a quick coffee. The staff were friendly and helpful especially as we were still there after the official closing time. We were still chatting and the staff cleared up around us allowing us extra time. Fabulous coffee and desserts !

Had an amazing visit here today!! Was welcomed in by the lovely Tara, and shown to my table which was sanitised on arrival, very safe and COVID secure! Our order was taken quickly and efficiently by Holly, who had amazing customer service skills, the staff were brilliant shoutout to Tara, Mia , Casey and Holly, they are a dream team really recommend this cafe, our dessert was amazing too great portion size and so delicious! Thankyou!! ❤️ Will definitely be returning.!

I tried the homemade porridge and pancakes with fruit. The food was beautifully presented and delicious. The staff were friendly and cheerful. Lots of effort was out into the cleaning to make sure everything was covid secure. I paid by card but you need cash to leave a tip.

I am a fussy customer and a very fussy coffee drinker - but cadwaladers made me the most amazing coffee that I am 100% returning today for another! The service was brilliant, the staff were friendly, the atmosphere was lovely but mainly the coffee was banging!

I attempted to purchase ice cream from the shop in Tenby without a mask as exempt to not be welcomed with a smile but by a stuck up “Know it all” I use the speech marks as she turned out to be legally incorrect.I was asked if I had a mask I explained I was exempt she then asked for proof which in itself is an act of discrimination, I explained that I didn’t need to provide proof of my exemption and her asking me too was in fact her breaking the law she then tried to correct me to tell me that as a small business they were legally entitled to ask me for proof and she was just entitled to refuse to serve me! so I decided to take my hard earned money and spend it at the Tenby ice cream company where the ice cream and service was phenomenal and no questions where asked!I find the customer service and attitude of your staff appalling she was extremely rude and as someone responsible for hiring staff she would not last very long in a company that places values on treating people correctlyNot all disabilities are visible and I highly expect that the managers of this company should act upon this feedback to make sure that she doesn’t cause upset to someone who is actually willing to take the matter further!Disgusted

Many thanks to the staff here who were on the ball with Covid safety which made me feel safe and happy to be in there. I had the best hot chocolate ever, and the service was great. Friendly, kind staff despite being stressed due to a late delivery.

I came here while on holiday in pendine sands and we visited tenby for the day. It was amazing the nicest food and drink I ever eaten at visit here you wont regret it this place is AMAZING.

Had the most amazing Sundaes here! The girl who served us did an amazing job and made us feel really welcome as well as ensuring everywhere was thoroughly cleaned which was really nice to see during these times! Definitely will be visiting again!

Popped in to get the kids an ice cream. The shop was immaculate and the girls serving were really great. There is a good selection of flavours, some quite novel which is nice. Reasonably priced too.

Recently diagnosed Coeliac and this ice cream parlour couldn't do enough to help. So kind, changing gloves, tools and a new ice cream tub. Super understanding and friendly. It must be a bit of a pain as a business to do this but there was no hint of that in their service. Thanks so much for making a day out lovely. Enjoying an ice cream without worry was the icing on the cake.

You can't visit Tenby without having an ice cream here! A lovely little cafe, with such a variety of ice creams and deserts, so much to chose from! Really friendly service.

We arrived in Tenby for our first visit and stumbled across Cadwaladers. We had delicious latte coffee, cake and fabulous gluten free ice-cream cone! Super service from Dan. He was very polite and helpful to all customers in the cafe today. Family nearby had a freshly made pizza (looked and smelt great).

I visited here for ice cream whilst I was staying in Tenby and was pleasantly surprised to discover they offered gluten-free cones! In addition to this, there was a wide range of ice cream flavours to choose from which were all clearly labelled if they were gluten free/dairy free or both. They had flavours that wouldn't normally be gluten-free as well like a bueno flavour.

Asked for 2 coffees and 2 icecream sundaes..... 25 minutes later still waiting... When asked when they were coming we were told they'd be next.... Not as if they wete busy either

We popped in to Cadwaladers for afternoon ice cream having enjoyed the branch in Cardiff Bay for many years. The waffle and sundaes were delicious and the staff were very friendly.

I’ve seen this place so busy in recent visits to Tenby so we (group of 5) popped there for lunch on a Sunday. I ordered a cheese & ham toastie which came out no problem, was nice. My friends all ordered pizzas, I had almost finished my lunch by the time a girl (who was lovely) had to come and deliver the bad news that there was only 1 pizza base left and 3 friends would have to order something else. 2 jacket potatoes came out after half hour, the other one after about 40 mins and was still hard in the middle. Friends were all hungry so ate them reluctantly. I feel like Cadwaladers may focus more on the sweet side of the menu than the savoury. They had some busy spells at the counter which resulted in a long wait for ice cream at the end, the girl serving on the ice cream counter was doing a good job considering and she was very polite and sorry about the whole ‘Pizza Gate’. Toilet wasn’t in a great condition, stock cupboard by toilet was open so that public could just walk into and there was a staff meeting/induction going on in front of all customers while the staff behind the counter were getting flustered as they were busy and not getting much help. Sadly not a positive experience.

Really nice selection of ice cream, friendly staff and social distancing rules applied well. Well located serving teas/coffees and a good selection of cakes too.

This is a ice cream chain based in Wales. Have visited original parlour in Criccieth many times and this branch does not disappoint. Would always recommend. Only issue was that they could be a bit more organised with those waiting to sit in and those waiting for takeaway service.

We love coming here when on our holiday to Tenby. My daughter and I are gluten free and we always struggle to find gluten free ice cream! When we come here, the only struggle is what flavours to have (yes we always have more than one!!). As far as I'm aware, it's the only shop in Tenby and Saundersfoot that do gluten free ice cream and cones!

Been going here for years, especially when I lived in the area. Went with my parents yesterday, the lady behind the counter was super friendly & helpful! I had my favourite: dairy-free strawberry icecream shake with coconut milk (this place is awesome if you're vegan, or lactose-intolerant like me!) and my parents had ice cream cones. The caramac and coffee ice-creams are to die-for. They used to do an amazing peanut butter one, really hope they bring it back soon!

Visited here the day after the Ironman event with 3 friends (who had competed) for a light lunch before we travelled home. The staff were friendly, however, it was evident that they were a little flustered. They had also run out of quite a lot of the food we originally wanted to order; although on asking if they had been busy the previous day, as would be expected during such a large event, they claimed they had not. Our food (beans on toast and a jacket potato) took at least 30 mins to arrive. I had ordered a ham and cheese croissant from the fridge but was not even offered a plate or for this to be warmed up. Our drinks (2 hot chocolates, a coffee and a tea) arrived at the same time as the food. The 'deluxe' hot chocolate was warm so had to be drunk quickly and did not have marshmallows as I'm sure had been advertised.The aircon was also on full blast which was unnecessary that day, to the point that we never actually took our jackets off.The icecream looked nice and I liked the fact they were dog friendly, however, if you are looking for a nice, relaxing stop or a quick snack before you continue your travels, I would maybe look elsewhere.

Came here for a sweet treat after a day out, I had the Nutella muffin sundae and my husband the cookie sundae. We ordered a scoop of vanilla for our daughter. I’m a complete Nutella fanatic, so I was quite disappointed with my sundae, it had no Nutella taste at all. It was more of chocolate muffin with vanilla ice cream. Staff friendly, clean place but next time I will order something else

Went into your Tenby shop ,during a weekend break with some friends .I'd been a customer of yours from days in St David's 2 in Cardiff ,looking forward to sharing the experience with friends .Every table in restaurant was littered with dirty dishes and on approaching the counter to order I noticed that was also in complete disarray. When our orders arrived ,there was nothing special about them and at £6.95 I expected a creamy ice cream at least ,we all had sundaes and we were all very disappointed with our picks.The ice cream itself was FROZEN,and the rest of dessert was sloppy .The cream on top of sundae was also FROZEN as it was on top of ice cream .I wasn't going to put this review in but I was so shocked by the state of restaurant and then the poor quality of product .Could I possibly suggest that you employ more staff during the busy period .

As someone who eats dairy free and gluten free, I often struggle at ice cream shops, but there was a choice of three different dairy free ice creams which I had in a cup. My partner had a regular two scoop cone and really enjoyed his as well.

This is a lovely place to have a drink we ordered the ice cream milkshakes and even though are not cheap they were lovely and delicious would definitely come here again in the future.

Great to sit in here after a good long stroll on the beach. Its in the middle of the town and access is great. Food is good with a wide choice. Can even get full meals. The pizza was lovely.

Wonderful menu for all. Special vegan menu with a mass of options and sundaes (one of our group is vegan so this helps massively). The portions were huge and service was wonderful.

Brilliant stop off on way to beach! Kids shared a pizza which was reasonably priced at 7.95, beans on toast for me!

Delicious ice cream served to us by a very friendly chap. Good selection of flavours even though it was 9.15pm, guessing there are more flavours during the day as the second freezer was empty. Bright and clean looking premises..... will be back no doubt before our weekend is over.

Dreadful customer service, the staff were rude and unhelpful.

Unfortunately the front is blocked by a big screen currently as work is being done on the building, but worth seeing it out. A good choice of flavours and sorbets. They have indoor seating, but cones and tubs to take away. Also wooden spoons!

We normally stop at a Cadwaladers when were in north wales. This was just as good. Great choice, some great combinations can be made. Good prices, with sizes for all the family.

Re visited and the customer service is excellent as usual, lovely warm friendly staff and great lattes and breakfast. Would recommend if you visit Tenby.

We stopped in for ice cream and was greeted by a very kind person, Jack! All the staff (Tara, Phoebe and Evie) were wonderful. If you’re in Tenby, stop by for some great homemade ice cream!!!

Visited twice with family and used both takeaway service and cafe. Good customer service from friendly staff, delicious ice creams and good coffee at a reasonable price.

Lovely selection of sundaes and icecream as well as cakes on offer. We had mars bar sundaes and they were sooo good. The only reason I haven't given 5 stars is because it was cold in there, air con was on and it was already a cold day. We had to keep our coats on. Also the service was pretty slow.

Had a lovely drink in here, was great to see our furry friends in here too! They even have frozen yoghurt dog treats for them. Lovely staff and also great atmosphere. Definitely be back!

Best ice cream cafe in Tenby. Went on holiday for a week in October. Not much open but so glad to find a Cadwaladers. I have been to nearly all of them now.

Dog friendly so the occassional wet dog smell, it was raining. We love dogs & have our own just dont like to eat with the smell. Grandaughters did not mind and devoured their icecreams. We had hot drinks to warm us up.

In Tenby for a few days. Popped in for a coffee & tea with my husband & our spaniel. We always get the best of welcome here all of us. Excellent friendly service. I had an ice cream today & it was to die for. Going back for the white chocolate & strawberry waffle this weekend as it looks delicious! Can’t wait x

Called in for something to eat what a great place to be able to sit with our little dog (Oscar). Friendly staff and loads of dishes to chose from.

Had a really tasty icecream 🍦 couldn’t fault quality, taste or service. I had the salted caramel & honeycomb flavours both delicious 😋

Lovely sundaes ,but expensive and noisy when we went in quite busy but it was a nice treat. Would visit there again.

We have been here for the last 3 years when we are down on our holidays. Absolutely lovely waffles however we went twice this time and asked for no cinnamon on the banana toffee waffle and both times it came with it on. They made new ones both times but they need to be careful as people are allergic. Waffle are nearly £7 each but they are big and very tasty.

Have visited many times on yearly visits to Tenby and love it here - the coffee is amazing and the choice of ice creams and sundaes is amazing!!!!

We visited Cadwalladers Tenby at 5pm yesterday, one member of staff in a very busy coffee shop, 8 of us had all different Sundaes which were perfectly made and served by Jayden, Fab service...

This was my first time at Cadwaladers and it is the best ice cream I have ever tasted! The vanilla ice cream was so tasty, and the raspberry and white chocolate waffle. I visited twice on my short trip because it was so good! My only fault is that the staff member could have been more attentive, as I changed my order and the wrong pancake was brought out to me which meant I had to wait longer for the one I originially ordered.

Whilst down on holiday we called in on the Tuesday after August bank holiday.on ordering some toastie we were told we couldn't have them due to not having supplies due to a busy weekend.....you are a cafe....surely you can arrange supplies so this doesn't happen.

One happy boy, finally a gf ice cream with cone and flake. They were happy to get the ice cream he wanted out the freezer, just needed to wait a short while it warmed to a scoopable temperature.

If I would give 0 stars I could. Waiting over 30 mins for the order. Had to ask 3 times for one of the sundaes. Rest of table finished before sundae finally arrived. Customer service was shocking, rude employee eye rolling at customers. Would never visit again.

The cafe itself is nice with some outdoor seating but there is only one toilet meaning at busy times it's a bit of a wait. Staff also seem very young and not very friendly/great at their customer service. The ice cream selection is wonderful, great variety. I had the mars bar sundae, it was heaven in a glass, so much so i drank the remains!!! I think the quality of the ice cream just about outweighs the negatives so worth a visit.

We visited today whilst in Tenby. Finding ice cream for our daughter who has an allergy to dairy can be a challenge and she usually ends up with some form of ice lolly. But not today! Not 1 but 3 (yes 3!) different flavours of dairy free ice cream plus a couple of sorbets to choose from and available in a dairy free cone. One part of ‘summer’ most families take for granted but today was the very first time we bought our daughter an ice cream in a cone. The highlight of her day, thank you . #summermemories

There are a large variety of ice creams, including ice creams for your dog, They were very nice but the cakes were dry and I feel past their best The knickerbocker glory was simply ice cream and sauce but the ice creams are good and there are many to choose from

Great ice cream selection. The children’s sundaes are fab, they are very generous in size and more than enough- even for an adult! Nice and clean. However, the toilets and baby changing are down some rather steep stairs so not accessible with pram! Would go back again.

We were so pleased to discover by chance that there is a Cadwaladers that is open until 10.00pm during the school summer holidays in Tenby as we were after coffee and cake which is difficult to find in the evening. Cadwaladers is a good chain serving light snacks, great coffee and ice cream located in one of the main streets. The young men serving were very pleasant and personable

They offered three flavours of dairy free ice cream and a range of non-exciting dairy ice creams. It’s as good as many ice cream parlours in the area.

The worst customer service i've probably seen from a cafe. Exceedingly slow making two jacket potatoes. 30+ mins. What made it worse there were probably only 6 or so people within the cafe with 3 staff members that I could see. How many it takes to change a lightbupb and all that. Students come to mind.....

Lovely ice cream, with plenty of choice, and normally plenty of room to sit, indoors or outdoors on a sunny day. Would highly recommend.

Every time we go, i get something different, everything is super tasty, and the staff are really nice. Last year an old lady fell over outside the shop and they closed the shop temporarily to take care of her while the ambulance came, amazing customer service

A Good Welsh business, since 1920’s. Says it all.

Went here on a Sunday morning for brunch with our dog. We had pancakes, waffles and even got a frozen yogurt for the dog. Friendly service good food and not over priced. I'm sure we will be back here before our holiday is over for some food to escape the rain :-)

We have been recently and they serve some really lovely very cold ice-cream of many different flavours. Another place you could not miss while in Tenby.

We popped in for take out coffee and milkshake before a boat trip. Lattes were good, and a large for less than £3! Staff were friendly and helpful when my daughter wanted advice about her milkshake.

we always make sure to pay Cadwaladers a visit when we are in Tenby. The coffee is great and the breakfast is good value. We've had hot bacon rolls and Pancakes before and we cant fault them.

Popped in for ice cream one Thursday afternoon. The staff weren’t exactly busy but forgot our order and I had to ask for it after waiting a while.

Visited with family on Tuesday 10th April for drinks and ice creams. Staff not very welcoming, after finding a table we went to order the girl behind the counter seemed very disinterested and we had to repeat order twice (despite only asking for 1 coffee, 1 bottle of juice, ice cream float and small cone). Also not interested in helping carry to table (despite waitresses stood about doing nothing) instead told to wait a min and then we could carry it! No glass or cutlery offered until asked for - overall disappointing level of customer service and not good value for money.

Popped in for coffee around 4pm on a Saturday afternoon, ended up staying and ordering a couple of waffles, the pavlova waffle and the toffee waffle. Best decision of the day! The pavlova waffle was outstanding, warm sweet waffle with sharp raspberries and creamy ice-cream. My partner had a delicious and very sickly (in a good way!) waffle with toffee sauce & ice cream. If you're looking for a sweet-fix, head here you won't be disappointed.

Ok it was late on a bank holiday, and I could forgive the tired looking youngsters for not exactly rushing to prepare 2 coffees and 3 ice creams. Think they forgot we we waiting after taking the money. Anyway the coffee disappeared to the back of the cafe and I had to go back to remind we were still waiting and which flavours I'd wanted. Even then the ice cream was rock hard and two puny scoops were put on the cone. Maybe you get more in a waffle cone for 2.70 rather than my 2.50 wafer. All tasted fine, especially the sorbet, but there are better, happier and more enthusiastic ice cream places locally that put more in your cone. Wish I hadn't put my change in the tips jar to be honest. They didn't deserve it.

We called in after our usual walk on new years day not expecting it to be open, so glad it was.

Arrived here on a cold January day.Staff were really welcoming,a light and airy settings,spotless. A tempting menu of delicious ice cream sundae and desserts,we decided on Belgian waffles with ice cream,it was fabulous,we also had coffee. A great relaxing stop will defiantly call again.

Another holiday at the seaside that needs to be ticked is getting an ice cream... here we found you can have anything from the basic single scoop wafer cone to a sundae that wouldn't look out of place in a revised version of Charlie & The Chocolate Factory.

We shared a chocolate sundae and it was a real dissapointment. Chuck of microwaved tasteless chocolate muffin with two scoops of ice cream. Don't bother with the sundaes just have a scoop of ice cream instead.

After a long walk across tenby cliffs and beach we decided to call in cadwaladers for a coffee.

having heard a lot of great feedback of this place, I had to give it a go! the £18 monster ice cream was delicious, full of ice cream, cream, wafers and chocolate brownies, feeds about 4/5 people! staff were lovely too. would definitely recommend this place

Lovely coffee shop very similar to Costa but cheaper lol... lovely staff outside seating through the summer..only downside is that the toilets are downstairs not good for disabled

Been coming here once a week for about a year but sadly won't be back again.

Was at the front of the queue for a good 5 minutes without even being acknowledged by the two girls behind the counter. One was busy making a drink and the other was stood facing our direction but looking down - we felt rather ignored (she did look up at us several times, but still didn't welcome us or say she would be with us in a minute) She finally took our order and then without saying anything walked off. After about 5 more minutes she was making drinks for another group, she looks at us and said I'll bring yours over. Coffee was good, ice cream shake was just milk and had barely any ice cream. Very poor experience - the girl probably said less than 10 whole words to us throughout our whole time waiting and ordering. This place used to be first class. Would recommend you AVOID this place at all costs.

Positives: We were pleased to find that this cafe is dog friendly.The hot chocolate was delicious.The tea was made from tea leaves and was also delicious.Negatives:The tray, teapots, cups and cutlery weren't very clean.This made me have to check which food hygiene rating they had, which was reassuringly a 5. Summary:I would not revisit this cafe as the negatives for me far outweigh any of the positives.
