Cables Bar in Belfast

My wife and I ate here several times while staying at the Hilton, next door. The food was excellent and the service was as well. If we're staying here in the future, we will be sure to be back.

As this bar is attached to the Hilton, it is very convenient. The food was tasty, and service was good.

We thought the prices were high but par for the course in an hotel. Did not eat here and found the bar quiet when we visited on a Saturday afternoon.

Había esperado algo mejor en el Hilton. Muebles muy cansados, anticuados e incómodos. (Algunos tenían chicle pegado) El servicio era lento. Entrega de nuestra comida lenta. El personal es alegre y amable. Pensamos que los precios eran un poco ricos (14. ++ para la ensalada césar con pechuga de pollo) aunque la comida era buena cuando finalmente llegó. No volveríamos a toda prisa, pero no estoy seguro si había otras opciones fuera del hotel. He marcado 'parejas' pero solo porque eso es lo que somos.

Llamamos para almorzar hoy, éramos un grupo numeroso y todos estábamos impresionados. La comida era deliciosa ya un precio muy razonable (6. 50 especiales de almuerzo) y el personal era cálido y acogedor. El servicio fue rápido e hicieron enmiendas para los comensales más selectos del grupo. Ambiente relajado y cómodo, lo recomendaría!

Estábamos en el Hilton y queríamos tomar una copa por la noche, y quizás un poco de postre, después de un largo día de turismo, así que bajamos al bar de Cables. Victoria nos estaba ayudando y ella era muy eficiente y servicial. Mi esposa disfrutó una copa de Rose y yo comí unos Bushmills de 15 años (¡muy suave!). Lo combinamos con las 3 bolas de helado con un cono de waffle (helado de degustación fresca), y fuimos tradicionales con vainilla, chocolate y fresa (nuestra propia mezcla Neopolitan).

We stayed at the Hilton hotel where this is located and used Cables bar twice during our stay, the staff very friendly and the food great with lots of choices at a good price.

Friendly staff and offers a variety of drinks and food; one of the staff members actually came to the door area to say Thank you before we left

Good service but overpriced average food, you would expect a lot more in a chain like the Hilton. Drink also expensive

This is ideal for those staying at the hotel and those near the Belfast Central railway station but it lacks the true Irish ambience and decor. Good food, service and choice of wines and beers though.

Poor and slow service, staff that do not know how to smile and a service charge added on to individual bills! Service charge should be per table! I wouldn’t have minded paying for it if the service and food was worth it. Poor excuse of a bar, plenty of nice bars in the city centre! Avoid.

Cables bar food was good. Service was ok due to only having 1 waiter during lunch hour. But when the bill came, and service charge of 10% was added on an individual bill without any explanation from the employee who took the payment. It was only spotted when you got the receipt that the employee said there was a charge. It may seem petty but the staff's attitude was not good and it didn't sit well with me. So beware to those that go, you may expect to pay 10% more on top!

Very swift visit during work travel and I was gutted I had to leave as soon as I did to catch a - delayed - flight! Anyway, I saw lemon tart on the menu and was adamant I must reserve space for it. My main food was pretty minimal for that reason, a sandwich with chips, I can't remember which one but it was okay.

Ate in here as we were staying in the Hilton of which this is a part of. Typical bar food, burgers, pizza, fish, etc. All seemed very nice, no complaints. Service very good, found the lighting a bit low and had some difficulty reading the menu, but I am getting older now!!!!!

We ate here out of convenience on our first night at the Hilton after arriving from the airport. It was a good choice as the food was good - we both had burgers, which were nice - and the prices for food and drink were reasonable for a hotel of this standard.

Habíamos intentado reservar por adelantado pero todos podían ofrecer el menú en el Restaurante Sonoma Teatro en el Hilton y que lo único que queríamos era un snack bar. Nos presentamos por unos 1830 y no tuve problemas para conseguir una mesa para dos, que es cuando finalmente localicé un miembro del personal para preguntar! Como mi otra mitad estaba conduciendo yo opté por un G&T;, aunque estaba muy sorprendido al descubrir que sólo sirven a unos cinco ginebras! Las cosas están mal cuando en este día y edad de la grúa más emocionante que puedes obtener es de Bombay Sapphire. ! ¿Por qué no promover una gama mucho fuller incluyendo todas nuestras maravillosas ginebras locales! ¿Dónde estaba el delicioso Copeland! No hubo tal problema el sábado anterior en el marfil! Ambos tuvimos Paninis que eran absolutamente bien y sirve enseguida. Quizás el bar podría ir un poco más sofisticada con el ketchup HEINZ grapado a la botella de plástico en la mesa es un poco pobre. El molino de pimienta negra resultó ser un misterio. Nos indicaron que la baja calidad salero y pimentero en la mesa y tuve que ir a un gerente para buscar un molinillo de pimienta negra. Fue producido a partir de un armario mágicamente! ! ! ! Abuso cobrando un cargo por servicio para dos. No tengo prisa en volver.

Visited the cable bar on 14 October for a meal before going to a show. Service was very good. Food was bland (chicken, sweet chilli mayo, cheese panini), wine per glass an extortionate £12.45 per glass. They also had the nerve to add a service charge for 2 people. I will definitely NOT be back.

Was here on 13th September was awful weather outside so instead of ealking anywer nearby and staying at the Hilton neway me and my fiancée decided we would have lunch here, lady approached asked U oK there" nothing polite, I said we looking about getting lunch, so she brought us a sheet of paper not great choice but we both decided just to order pannini was just chicken and cheese and you had choice of soup or fries, went with the fries, place was dead and felt very uncomfortable, we ordered drinks which I got a pint of stout and my fiancée ordered rekorderling. I was so shocked at the price. For the 2 Panini's and drinks our bill was £34. I couldn't believe it esp as food was very standard. To top it off when we wer finished the lady who was very dull and just made us feel more uncomfortable just goes "want anything else" exactly like that. I couldn't get out of the place quick enough. We went around 2.45pm was expecting it to be quiet enuf but to be made to feel uncomfortable and the price as well was not acceptable I feel. Esp as was our first visit to the Hilton etc. Tho I will say the lady at the bar at night was very pleasant wen I went to get some water. Maybe was time of day etc but still would AVOID!!!!

This is a nice bar and the staff is very helpful and friendly. Unfortunately, they do not serve food late, and you are not allowed to bring your own food in to the bar.

Part of the hiton Belfast. Good selection of drinks and fair price. Food very good and staff so cheerful especiely Eve. Overall a relaxing bar perfect for chatting with friends.

Estaba alojado en el Hilton para pasar 4 noches y a veces casi a diario en el bar, un agradable ambiente y sirven comida buena, el personal era muy amable

Disfruté de este bar durante mi estancia y también sirven buena comida. El personal es también muy amable y servicial.

Mi esposa y yo llamamos en hace un tiempo para una copa rápida y decidimos en la comida. . . Hamburguesa y patatas fritas para mí y la ensalada césar con pollo para mi esposa. Disfrutamos mucho y la Guinness también era bueno. Así que planeamos para otra visita el sábado 10 de junio y tenía el tazón de pieles de patata con queso y beicon en la parte superior, este era muy sabroso para empezar, y entonces mi esposa tenía algunas patatas y fuga de sopa y tuve el club sándwich con papas fritas. En general, a un precio muy razonable, y las bebidas estaban frías y refrescantes (Guinness incluido). . . Así que le llame de nuevo, de hecho, hemos reservado una estancia de una noche en diciembre para alojarse allí tras un espectáculo al lado en el hall frente al mar. I met a friend for coffee in the lobby of the Hilton. Lovely spacious lobby area. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The coffee was amazing and service excellent. The Cables Bar has changed since I was here last and it's fantastic. Must try the food!!

Visited with Cable Bar when staying in the Hilton Belfast with my family. The food was very nice, staff were really good, very accommodating and very kind with the kids. Also the kids ate free when meals ordered by adults. Really hope we will be returning soon

Food was decent, but don't expect anyone to wait on you while there. I sat for about 15-20 min, then went to the bar to ask for a menu, since none of the waiters came to my table. Then sat for another 10 min, before going back up to ask if I could order some food and drink....

Please don't think you are going to drop in here for a bite before an event - way too busy and the staff are under experienced. Food was of a good enough standard, which is the only reason the Cables Bar got an Average rather than a Poor!

Had a nice lunch here recently. Portions of food were generous and food was nice. Service was a bit hit and miss but very friendly and overall very good.

Lovely space at night to unwind and relax. Bar staff were amazingly friendly and very attentive. They were happy to serve you at the bar or provide table service. Drinks, for a city centre hotel, were reasonably priced.

Service to start of was slow but after our wine came the beautifully presented butchers block for our afternoon tea arrived. It was not only beautiful to look at but it was delicious too. Would definitely recommend and would go back.

Had the pleasure of a weekend away in Belfast and ventured into cables bar daily as was staying in the Hilton. Staff superb, especially Adam behind the bar. Very attentive and friend. Ordered four twice during my stay, though not 5 star restaurant standard its was of a good quality and came as advertised. Thing to remember, this is a bar not a restaurant so don't expect sea bass etc. What you will get is simple food well cooked and served by friendly staff.

Went here last Friday for something to eat and regretted it right away. I ordered a black mountain burger and when it came it was served in a camping tray and literally swimming in grease. Even the staff member was embarrassed. To their credit I received a 20% discount but I should not have to complain the food should be fit to eat.

Cables is ok bar even if you are on your own. Attentive service, can't fault that. Friday night a singer in the bar was ok but I just wanted some place to chill. Tried the Narnia burger which was nice... But to be honest you can get better elsewhere. Cold bun, oh please get real the competition down the road serve better. For a hotel of this calibre I would expect something more ... Try warm brioche. . Even Heston has his range of brioche burger buns ... And I can go on and on about gourmet burgers and buns

I came here ten days ago with my sister and we had afternoon tea using a LivingSocial voucher. The food was nice, however I wanted to change the fruit scone to a plain one and tried to catch someone's attention - to no avail. Then a few people sat down at the table next to us. The waiter immediately went over to them and in the process, I looked at him - pretty certain I had caught his eye. Appreciating that he had to serve the table next to us first, I waited patiently until their drinks order was delivered to the table. Unfortunately the waiter then went straight back to the bar, so I had to get up and wait at the bar for a few minutes to ask if I could have the scone changed and also to request more sugar sachets for the tea. The service put me off, and I did not leave a tip.

I have the misfortune of staying at The Hilton, Belfast. I had a drink in Cables, no atmosphere, awful decor, poor disinterested staff. Avoid this place like the plague, in fact avoid the Hilron. It's dreadful and not up to Hilton standard in my experience. Will be staying elsewhere on my next visit

Had a living social deal for afternoon tea for Cables bar situated in the Hilton Hotel Belfast. Booked the time through the website and arrived to find our table reserved in a busy establishment. Service was excellent both friendly and quick but never invasive. The afternoon tea platter was beautiful both visually and certainly in taste with each bite bringing sheer delight to both of us

Very helpful staff...... we called in for 'one before bed'..... we were out most of the night and just popped in but stayed a while.... very pleasant experience all round, thank you.

My daughter and I both ordered Sirloin steaks, medium rare, with chips. After a lengthy wait, we were served our meal. The chips were served in a soup / dessert bowl and the steaks were served with a couple of green leaves. On cutting into my steak, I found it to be raw in the middle, although no blood or cooking liquid oozed from it. I called the waitress and requested that the steak should be cooked medium rare, as per my order. I should say, my daughter's steak was exactly the same poor standard. My steak was returned, virtually unchanged and I proceeded to try to eat my meal, as our time was limited . So much of this meal was inedible, due to fat, gristle , tough, chewy meat. Let me say, this was the worst steak I have had, and believe me I have had many . I told the waitress how disappointed I was and the response I received was not what I would expect from a 5 star establishment. After our exchange of words, I received a discount of £3.60 from each steak. The result was, I paid £34 for two steaks which were terrible. That, with two drinks, brought the bill to over £50. Very poor quality in a 5 star hotel, not a good response from the waitress so I will NOT be back. My advice to others who want a pre theatre meal is, GO ELSEWHERE.

From start to finish i did not feel anything but disappointed by my experience in Cables Bar. First of all they could not accommodate a group of 6 at the one table, due to Health & Safety issues. They did suggest we eat in the restaurant but we would not be able to avail of the bar menu in there.. If we had wanted to eat in the restaurant we would have gone there! (from a previous visit we found the restaurant lacked atmosphere). The waiter managed to get both my drink order and food order wrong - i checked with friends to ensure it was clear with them. The food was the only positive thing during the visit. When it came to paying the bill I presented them with a valid discount card. The waiter advised their tills no longer had the discount button and they could therefore not honour it. This left me feeling red faced as I had told my friends of the discount in advance of our visit. No alternative was suggested by the waiter other than paying up the full price. Needless to say no tip was left.

Food is always nice with a Nice relaxed atmosphere and staff are pleasant even tho hard to catch one when wanting to pay the bill after eating

Had afternoon tea in here twice now. Wonderful location- well-lit, comfortable and easy vibe. Our server both times was Ivana, who is wonderful and lovely!! Really liked the attention and attitude of all staff members, and the food is quality.

Really enjoyed my time here and the only disappointment was the food. Very average for not get average prices! Good entertainer in the form of a guy signing with a guitar he was really good.

It's a decent hotel bar--don't expect too much. There is decent food and a full bar selection of drinks. The burger I ordered was prepared well and tasty. The sticky toffee dessert was delicious and a great end to the meal.I felt a bit rushed to leave the restaurant by the staff which was constantly checking on me, but--at the same time--I hate to complain too much about over attentive service.Overall, it's a great place to grab a quick meal and a drink before venturing deeper into Belfast.

£14 quid for a 'Thai' salad. Nothing remotely thai about overcooked chicken on tired salad with a lack-lustre and insufficient dressing. Dreadful. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

I ate here at least 10 times during my 18 night stay. The food was ok and the service was usually pretty good except on Saturday nights when it would get very crowded and understaffed.

Was here on Friday evening for the first time in a number of years and it was much busier than what I had expected and had a really good atmosphere! The guy playing the guitar and singing was pretty good too. A comfortable and nicely laid out bar although the drinks are a little bit pricey.

Romantic and quiet. Lovely modern fireplace design. Lounge effect is very comfy and homey. Cool cocktails.

Had a really nice time in the bar, showed the football which is more than welcome! Had a good selection of beers, did eat there on the last night and found the food quite expensive but of a fairly good standard. The staff were excellent, really polite and attentive at all times.

Had a £14.00 burger in cables bar last night. It was not great, not what I expected from the hilton chain. We had a meal for six people and the only thing that was average was the fish. Over priced food. Staff are fine. But would not go back. Only 2/3 star out of possible 5. Come on hilton you can do better that this!

I called in for lunch after having been in Belfast area for a meeting. The Bar has been refurbished and looks quite well. I kind of prefer the old layout as it was more open. There is now a unit with shelves acting as a divider now, which I am not keen on, but the bar is now all on one level, which is great for me as it means I have more choice of where to sit, being a wheelchair user.I will be back, no question :)

We met some very friendly and entertaining Belfast natives here. Service was good and we could check up on American sports.

Cables is a relaxing informal but very comfortable bar/lounge with great food and superb service. Only dissappointment was they need a new cocktail list !!

The food was good and service good. A little expensive for, I hate to say bar food because it is much more than that, but still no complaints.

Another week at the Hilton Belfast - this review is ONLY about the Cables bar in the Hilton.If you visit the Cables bar for food - make sure you push the staff to serve you. I and 3 of my colleague were sat with 4 glasses for 45 minutes awaiting someone to push the meal menus in our hands to order....then finally the oldest of us got up, got the menus and we then a girl happened to come along and ask for orders. Mains took 15 minutes to come down - and the food is GOOD. Then again no offer for desserts and then I had to walk up and ask for a sticky toffee pudding - which took 25 minutes to bring, with the result my Coke went warm - not good.I won't go again to the bar for food - the food quality is good but I find the service in the bar inconsistent so will stay away unless I have ample time, which is rare.Staff are good - I bet if the bar had another 2 waiting staff, we would be fed and watered in an hour. Food is seriously good - otherwise we would not have gone here in the second instance and later too.Pull up chaps - you got a great location and make sure you exploit it.Would I go again - yes - if I have ample time..Would I recommend it - definitely - with a note of caution to relax !!!

Locals drink in it so it is quite atmospheric for a hotel. Burger and chips and a drink for 11 quid is good value, and it tasted nice. Excellent bar service from professional and friendly staff.

Lovely atmosphere. Reasonable prices and tasty 'bar' food.We had Belfast Mess on Sunday night and it was absolutely scrummy delicious. We ordered it again on Thursday night (busy night due to the Elton John concert) and it was dire.....a glass of berries and two tiny meringue nests! What no mess???? short changed!

Food was nice but I ordered the soup and sandwich, had to get up and ask for a knife to butter my bread roll, then had to go find someone to remind them of sandwich order, it came with a Caesar salad in the side, once again no knife and fork to eat it with, and no staff to ask. Perhaps there were not enough rostered on for the long weekend, I use Hitons all over the world and struck this type of service all weekend in the hotel so I think its probably a staff issue.

I had the Satay Chicken on a skewer with rice. OH had Sausages & Mash. Both were very good and reasonably priced. We would eat here again!

My friends and I were at a show in the Waterfront and having heard good things about the bar in the Hilton hotel we decided to pop in before the show for food and a coffee.They have Costa coffee, which was a pleasant surprise. The service was top class and the food was delicious. We were so impressed that we went back after the show for drinks. It was pretty quiet, and we got chatting to the bartender who made us a few different cocktails, including a mango and banana daiquiri which was not on their menu, but was absolutely gorgeous.It may not be the cheapest place in Belfast, but you definately get what you pay for and I would highly recommend it!
