C-Bay in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

We have had 2 meals here this week - one with our daughter and 3 small children - the food and service was fantastic - they were so accommodating of the little ones. The second was a Sunday roast - we were surprised to have a table with a sea view ( amazing) - the food was delicious - and the service again fantastic. Would highly recommend- and we will definitely return in the summer.

Really lovely meal, 5 of us, nearly all had 3 courses, and not one dish disappointed. The dishes were different and made a lovely change from the usual dishes that are repeated everywhere. The service was fab and really friendly and relaxed. Usually always favour the Lewinick in this area, but this beat the meal we had there hands down. Would come again without doubt

Having been turned away from their next door pub, all 5 of us went there and were welcomed warmly by the staff. We had 4 Sunday lunches and a burger which was very good. The views are as good as the next door if not better, they have a car park which you can use whilst you are in the café. Polite and friendly staff and nice surroundings the prices are very reasonable and you can pay by card or cash which is different to the other. I would definitely try this place before next door you won't be disappointed.

Just returned from a truly wonderful Mother’s Day lunch . This was one of the best meals we have had in a very long time. Top service(Hazel and team) and incredible food. Highly recommended.

Happened across this place. Amazing beach location. We fist went for brunch and then back for lunch a few days later. Staff really friendly and efficient. Modern menu with really yummy food. Really good cocktail at lunch time and excellent coffee.

Had a fabulous evening on our wedding anniversary. The table had been decorated for us which was a lovely touch. Fantastic seaview too. The food was delicious and the service was great. Would 100% return here - lots of things I would like to try on the menu.

Brilliant views from the terrace area, great food, and friendly staff. Worth a visit. Update sept 23, ate here three times whilst on holiday still great, better than the Bowgie next door imo.

Have been coming to Crantock for a long time and C-Bay has always been a great place for lunch or dinner. This year they have added a great chef and food was fantastic and as a bonus more reasonably priced than some of the other dining options in the area. Fresh shellfish was great and dishes where far more interesting than many can offer in the area.

3rd meal this year was excellent. Last year was below usual standards but a new chef has made a world of difference. Bream and red lentil starter highly recommended. Fish beautifully cooked and the lentils superbly spiced and cooked i.e. not just a tarka mush. Sirloin steak was tasty and tender. Pannacotta had great texture and taste

Had a lovely dinner at C Bay, fantastic views over the beach, good efficient service and tasty food. The menu was good... the only thing that could of improved on was the steak meal my husband had was a bit small and for the price we thought you would get fries included but everything else was spot on!! Dog friendly and definitely worth a visit.

We called into this restaurant on a Sunday in early June whilst visiting the nearby poppy fields. The restaurant was very busy but they were happy to accommodate us without a booking although booking is recommended. The restaurant is modern with seating on the decking with great views across the bay. A top place to have freshly cooked fish & seafood after a number of local disappointments. I had the hake. One of the best restaurants we have been to locally and we will definitely be back again.

We walked in waited to be sat down very friendly and attentive host. Had cream tea for three some confusion as to pricing but wasn't an issue. There are only 2 toilets multi use ones, both were in use so waits are the norm. Lovely place and seating area .

We have stayed at Crantock Bay apartments numerous times over the last 7 years. The C-Bay Bar has been in our opinion 'The jewel in the crown" so much so that our latest visit we decided to book 3 nights evening dinner. We couldn't believe how the standard had deteriorated since our last visit, the Menu choice and the surly staff- so disappointing. After eating there two nights decided to cancel the third. Such a shame as this was our perfect Summer Place, we now have to wonder if it is worth the long journey and if we will ever return.

Stopped here mid walk today. Service was excellent. Very welcoming. I sat outside to watch the tide come in as there were fantastic views over Crantock Bay. Had a cream tea with coffee. The coffee was good. The scones weren't the best I've had but still good and a v generous portions of jam and cream. Would definitely visit again.

A very relaxing atmosphere. Proper cooking with some very original twists. Try the aubergine starter and the 'cream tea' dessert.

Today the service was very slow,not many people in but had to wait 20 mins for 2 drinks then the order was wrong. 4 adults on another table walked out. Whilst using the toilets both toilets had ran out of hand wash and paper was on the floor. This was only 3pm. We are local and go a lot but today was not up to scratch.

I had Fish and Chips, very goid and a good portion. Sticky Toffee Pudding for dessert, fantastic but not enough for the price.

Crikey - don't tell anyone. Tom & Cam were superb front of house team. Jeese the chef & his 2nd chef were superb - the chef had worked over in the far east & had a twist of asian to the dishes. Fried squid - delicious & cripsy CRISPY TEMPEH THAI CURRY - amazing vegi dish INDONESIAN MONKFISH with mussels & prawns CURRY - superb tastes star annise & basil infused The lovely lady that worked on reception was very helpful, who helped us with our booking.

Menu had changed since last visiting & to be honest, I was a little disappointed with the lack of light bite choices. The food we did order was pleasant enough. The views of the bay and poppy fields were excellent.

Enjoyed breakfast, lunch, cream tea and drinks on several days over a week. Advise to book as rightly popular. Dog friendly indoors and out on the terrace. Large windows allow you to enjoy the views of Crantock Bay and Goose Rock. Our party of four enjoyed all the dishes, but my favourite was the Cornish cream tea with scones warm from the oven. Good range of alcoholic and soft drinks with teas, coffees and hot chocolate. When busy, the staff can be less attentive, but it is relaxing and appropriate for holiday if you order your drinks first before perusing the menu and choosing. Food seemed freshly prepared and was tasty for carnivores and vegetarians. Unlike a neighbouring establishment, you are not charged to use the car park. The only downside is that it is not open every day or all day on some days. Will certainly be back.

Been to this place quite a few times over the past few years for drinks and food it’s a really lovely place with sea view setting but on Sunday 28th May myself, my daughter and my 3 year old granddaughter after a lovely walk on the beach thought we would call in for a drink just to sit outside looking at the sea view as my granddaughter wanted a hot chocolate. But to our surprise we were turned away and told that they were fully booked baring in mind it was only 6.45 and they was only one family sat outside having drinks and only a few people sat inside plenty of empty seats. We said to the gentleman we only want one drink to sit outside with he then said a second time we are fully booked he then turned to the female employee asking her if they were fully booked and she said yes. It really put us off going again for the rest of our weeks holiday in case we got turned away again. It’s such a shame because in February we came and had a lovely family meal and spent over £100 but we didn’t mind because it was family time in lovely surroundings and that’s want we wanted to do again when we came down in May but to be turned away a second time would have been demoralising and spoilt the wonderful weeks holiday we had.

Absolutely lovely! Very relaxed ambience. The food was delicious. Our waitress was lovely. Beautiful views and a stunning sunset. We will definitely return.

Less than warm welcome from 2 female staff who honestly couldnt care where we wanted to sit - decided on inside table in front of door to outdoor balcony as the seats looked more comfy & was nice having outside view but avoiding chilly breeze outside. Staff member promptly slammed the door shut saying "its a bit chilly"- didnt ask if we were ok with this so we opened door back up. Abrupt and pretty rude really. Our table looked dirty with tea stains / hot cup ring marks so initial impression pretty poor. Bit of a limited menu for lunch - small plates or main meals & very pricey at that. Both opted for open steak sandwich which looked reasonable (not £17:50 worth mind you!) but mine was riddled with fat & gristle which was horrible. Whe we paid the bill the staff member asked if the food was alright- i said no ... my steak was full of fat, which id left on the plate & suggested she show the chef. No apology just said "Oh- ok" took our card payment & we left as quick as possible, quite disappointed. Both ladies could definitely do with a customer service training course- one in particular could have trued being a bit nicer - not just to us but i watched her with other customers & it was almost as if she couldnt be bothered & didnt want to be there! Other one wasnt much friendlier. Was it our scottish accent ? I hope not, but you never know, although from what i watched, all customers werent exactly welcomed or treated particularly well... oh & the service was SO SLOW to the point i said to my hubby, if its not here in 5 minutes were going! By the time we did get food, my pot of tea was half drank & rest was cold & hubby had to spin out sipping his beer to make sure he had some for when food arrived.

Amazing food and service - starters delicious and best belly porl we have tasted. Lamb ramen special mmmmm ( no words!) burger equally delicious and the banana banoffee desert shared between two as we were stuffed delightful. We will be back Sunday but next year too 😊 highly recommend and would also suggest booking to avoid disappointment - view is also wonderful

Had a wonderful evening at this restaurant. The view is simply amazing. The staff were absolutely lovely and very helpful. The food was exceptional. We had the monkfish curry and the crab pasta and both were faultless. The desserts were to die for as well - we had the warm chocolate brownie and panna cotta. Superb. Cannot fault this place.

Before my first visit to C-Bay I'd have to admit to being more than a little put off by the front of the building which made me think I was heading either to an average hotel restaurant or worse still a stuffy spa... Actually neither are true, the C-Bay bar and restaurant are very friendly and very accessible to kids, dogs, and their keepers alike .. excellent food in a jaw dropping location that is very relaxed and equally good for a quick coffee and cake or an evening out.

Very poor meal at C-Bay Crantock. Sea food linguine with bits of shell and over powered with Chillie. Kind prawns floating in liquid. Battered fish and chips greasy with cold peas. Total bill £139, must have been £100 for view and £39 for food!😡

We went for breakfast. The bistro was very busy and we had not booked. Not a problem. we only had to wait about 20 minutes for food which was lovely. We both had the Cornish breakfast. Would definitely recommend.

Amazing food and location. We booked ahead and were given an nice table overlooking the bay. We changed the booking for an hour later no issue. Perfect to watch the stormy weather after a long day. Service was good. Drinks looked stunning and worth the money cocktail wise. Very tipsy very quickly! I had an elderflower fizz which was gin and prosecco, dusted with sugar round the glass, gorgeous. Food was on another level. Steak was cooked to a perfect medium rare, accompanied beautiful micro salad and tomatoes. Chips yum and the inhouse garlic butter melted in your mouth. We also had the special teriyaki pork belly, two very good portions, wow. See photos. My partner is not a fan of seafood but really enjoyed the peppered squid rings. He now can't get enough. Very cosy atmosphere, comfortable seats and staff were very accomodating even though there were 2 large group tables seated around us. We felt special and attended to, making our night.

Came to Newquay for holiday and was saying wanted mussles and came here for our last evening and mussles on the specials board cooked in my favourite local cyder and extraordinary. Friendly ,polite staff. Tasty well cooked food. We had breakfast and the hash brown was the best I've ever had. The kitchen was very busy and they'd forgotten our hogs pudding. We mentioned it and fresh hot hogs pud came out in minutes.
