Buttercream Tearoom & Bakery in Hinckley and Bosworth

I held my 60th Birthday celebrations at buttercreams.It was fabulous!! The food staff and atmosphere all were wonderful! Everything is home made and tasted amazing ! They couldn’t do enough to help make my birthday very special! There were 30 of us and everyone loved it ! Room for a dance and a well stocked bar ! It was a great night !

Thoroughly enjoyed a festive afternoon cream tea with friends this afternoon. The tearoom,staff and food were all exceptionally high quality.

Had our baby shower here and cannot thank you enough. From initial booking right up to the big day Ruth and the team were lovely and couldn't do enough for us. Food was delicious and service excellent as always. Cannot wait to go back in the new year when the baby has arrived! Xx

The girls at Buttercreams provided the food for both of my parents funerals, as well as other family occasions. The quality and quantity of food for what they charge is incredible. I would highly recommend them for any occasion. Their tearoom is delightful and the choice and quality of food is always excellent.

Attended a hen party here with a range of dietary requirements, one being myself as lactose intolerant. The staff were amazing and catered for all allergies with real care. I had no concerns eating here and would definitely recommend to friends and family.

A delightful little tearoom where we had afternoon tea that I had booked whilst my friend was visiting us from Canada. She is English but has lived in Canada over 20 years so always like to treat her when she is here. The afternoon tea was beautifully presented and delicious. The staff also really made our time there as nothing was too much trouble for them. This is the third time I have been here for afternoon tea and all visits have been delicious with consistent great service. This is a real little gem just off the main street and I can highly recommend it. I would definitely recommend this little treasure.

Just returned from a lovely afternoon tea. What a wonderful experience itwas! Tea was plentiful, with refills offered, and the sandwiches were delicious. The sweet stuff was the triumph of the show! Dainty little cream cakes and a scrumptious fruit scone with clotted cream and jam. Service was friendly and efficient with a real sense of care and attention. We will definitely return!

I attended buttercream tearoom with my sister for a late birthday treat a couple of weeks ago and we had a wonderful time. The food was amazing and it came out promptly. Especially with being vegan sometimes I can be limited but everything was so tasty and there was a variety. The service was lovely and in particular a lady called Sally explained what everything was in detail and was always asking if we needed anything. She was a breath of fresh air and gave exceptional customer service. Overall we had a great time and would definitely visit again

Visited in May with a friend for an Afternoon Tea. I booked a few weeks in advance and the lady on the phone was very accommodating. One of the best afternoon teas I’ve had.All tasted so fresh and lovely to see quiche on it too,tasted beautiful. Lovely lady who delivered it to the table went through what was on each tier. Thank you again,will definitely return ☺️

Afternoon Tea at this small but very efficient establishment was a real treat. We went for my Daughter's 40th Birthday treat with 2x 85+ aged people, 2x 40 and 2x 60's age group. The staff catered for our needs very nicely. The food was adequate for everyone. We didnt need to, but I am sure that they would have changed sandwich fillings if asked. We did have a vegan in the party who said her food was good too. I let the wife pay the bill as I didnt want to see the total cost......it aint cheap! However, the ladies all loved the experience and the wife has told others about our enjoyable afternoon, so she was happy.

What a gem! A beautiful tea room with the most amazing afternoon tea! Lovely staff who are truly welcoming. The afternoon tea was sumptuous- delightful savoury layer - with a deep and light quiche, a variety of sandwiches all fresh and tasty. The next layer was a selection of homemade cakes that were full of flavour and so very light, the chocolate mousse was so rich and creamy. The top was a beautiful fruit scone, accompanied by clotted cream and jam. A very large pot of tea that was refreshed without having to ask ensured that this afternoon tea was one we will remember for a long time!!!

A lovely little tearoom where we had afternoon tea for my future daughter in law's hen party. It was so nice and had a good selection of food and was beautifully presented. The service was very friendly and there was a lovely atmosphere. The staff made the party so special. I would definitely recommend this little treasure.

Had a private birthday party last Saturday- the service was second to none , nothing was to much trouble.The food was delicious and everyone in our party had a great time.I believe we nearly drank the bar dry would recommend to anyone looking for an intimate venue for a celebration or a get together.

Excellent service and marvelours food. What a full selection. Ham, salads, quiche, gerkins, pickled onions, sausage roll, crispy bread and butter, pate, selection of cheeses and digestive biscuits and lovely pickle. Lovely choice of plain or fruit scones, served with jam and cream, Endless supply of tea. Great, would highly recommend.

What a great find . Fantastic afternoon tea with colleagues. Food was fresh, tasty and well presented. Top up tea and coffee was offered regularly. All staff friendly from booking through to service. The tearoom had a relaxed atmosphere and we will definitely return.

We booked this place for an afternoon tea for my wife's birthday for 9 of us as a family. No detail was too much and it was easy to book and very reasonably priced. The serving staff were fantastic, not too elusive when ordering more tea/coffee and not too pestering either.Delicious selection of both savoury and sweet treats and no fuss made when we had a last minute numbers change. Wonderful decor both inside and out - very modern but classic too and the wife loved the detail such as fairy lights in gin bottles and the birthday banner.We were sat in a room to ourselves which was a nice touch too and we left there stuffed and satisfied! They boxed up some leftovers for us too and there was no pressure to vacate the table.We would definitely return, a wonderful day had by my wife and the rest of us too. Well done Buttercream - a must visit if you haven't been! 10/10

After pre-booking, visited with a friend for a lunchtime natter. Very welcoming, relaxed atmosphere with a value-for-money lunchtime menu. Service was friendly without being intrusive, food portions were generous and presented well. Unfortunately I hadn't left room for any cake; they all looked delicious.If you haven't been here before, I would suggest a visit. It is well worth it.

Can't fault this little tea room. We arrived without a booking and the friendly staff managed to accommodate us. We ordered afternoon tea for two which comprised of finger sandwiches, quiche, cream scones, fruit tarts, raspberry moose and mini lemon meringue sponges along with a large pot of tea. It was absolutely delicious and excellent value. The staff were helpful and attentive without being intrusive. Will definitely be back next time we're in the area.

Searching the net for afternoon tea for two provided a couple of suggestions and “ Buttercream” looked very inviting so a quick call to book and off we went.A very compact but not cramped ( due to Covid ?) beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean , great service, fast/friendly and very informative.The tea that followed was truly excellent, and the reasonable price made it one of the best we have had.A nicely balanced mix of savoury and sweet, more than enough jam and cream for the scones and some of the lightest sponge we have ever tasted.Cannot recommend this establishment enough, a real treat .Well done

Phoned to book for lunch today and was so lucky to get the only available remaining table. It was our first visit and it certainly will not be the last! It’s a lovely quaint little place with delightful ambience. The service was excellent and indeed so was the food. We felt safe there, all Covid precautions in hand. Visited Buttercream Tearooms today for lunch with a friend. The whole experience was fabulous...we felt very safe with their Covid precautions. The afternoon tea was very well presented and delicious,lovely sandwiches,quiche & salad,followed by homemade scones & cakes. Unlimited supply of tea...all served on beautiful china crockery. Staff were attentive but not intrusive..we will most certainly visit again. Would highly recommend.

Arrived at this fabulous restaurant early on a Saturday morning to be greeted by a lovely lady. I ordered the 'big' breakfast which consisted of two sausages, two bacon, two hask browns, two perfectly cooked poached egss, and mushrooms. I didn't want the baked beans. The breakfast comes with toast and a choice of drinks. I opted for a capachino which was extremely good. The price point was really surprising at only £8.50.This was truly one of the best breakfasts ever. Well worth a visit.

I visited the tearoom for lunch yesterday. The food was lovely with a great choice on the menu. The food was well presented and good value for money. It was so good that we returned today for the afternoon tea which was fantastic. The cakes were especially good. The staff were very friendly and good COVID precautions were in place. I would definitely recommend and we will be planning a return visit soon.

Brought my mum here for afternoon tea. The food was delicious. Portions were perfect almost to much we had to take some home. The hostesses were warm and friendly. Pricing was less by considerable sum compared to other places so that was a very pleasant surprise. They do all their baking on premises so all the cakes are fresh and yummy. It’s tucked away on a side street so just entering the establishment feels quaint and perfectly British. It’s a little slice of heaven.

Absolutely fantastic experience. One of the best for taste, presentation and value for money. Nothing was too much trouble. Quaint venue. All in all a fantastic afternoon tea. Will definitely be back soon.

Wow, what a night! Food was amazing and Richard was superb entertainment, thank you so much, my mum had brilliant night and so did all her friends and family.

Have walked by many of times to and from work but today we went in for a bite to eat. The only thing I’m disappointed about is that I’ve never popped in before. The food was great along with the service. I would recommend you give this hidden gem a go, you certainly won’t regret it : ))

I have visited Buttercream several times and cant fault the food or Staff. The food is excellent cooked and prepared while you wait, Cakes are to die for.On my last visit we went for afternoon tea and they even decorated the table as it was for her birthday.an excellent hidden cafe gem of Hinckley and well worth popping in.

I found this place on line looking for a midway meeting place. It’s quite tricky to find but quite quaint and worth a visit. I had the cooked breakfast which was nice. The coffee was not very hot but happily replaced with a hotter one. The staff were friendly and accommodating.

A hidden treasure in the town of Hinckley, The afternoon tea was presented lovely with sandwiches and a good selection of cakes and a choice of teas or coffees . There’s a lovely ambiance about the place with vintage teacups / plates etc . The staff are very attentive & friendly and this made it more enjoyable.

Visited this place after looking at the great reviews on trip advisor. We booked our table. This is a quaint little place down a side street. We couldn’t decide whether to go for cream tea or something from the menu. Two of use had ham egg and homemade chunky chips which was well presented and tasty. I had homemade quiche tasty. I had just enough room for a generous slice of homemade cake yummy. Staff are lovely plus good value for money. Again if I lived local I’d be in there quite often however I might have difficulty getting into my clothes after a while. Lol

Staff were lovely with a helpful and laid back attitude, nothing was any trouble for them and the cake was beautiful!

Visited the tearooms with my 3 daughters, had a lovely afternoon.The food was amazing, nice selection of sandwiches, the quiche was fab as was the scones etc. We were served by Katie,she was very attentive and friendly. Would highly recommend this place and im looking forward to visiting again soon

I took my mum here for afternoon tea as it had been recommended by a friend, what a lovely quaint tea room. Hidden away with lovely decor and the staff were really friendly, we had the afternoon tea and it was gorgeous. Lovely sandwiches and the best quiche I've ever had, scones were great and desserts were excellent. The tea was great and you could have it refilled, we had the prosecco as it was my mums birthday, we have both said we would like to return for lunch soon. Well done to everyone at buttercreams, you're doing a fantastic job.

Went for afternoon tea with my better half and sister in law, food was amazing, homemade cakes delicious. We were not rushed, lovely and quaint, will definately be making a return vivst.

Taken me a while but have eventually discovered this little gem virtually on my doorstep. Enjoyed very much my first, but certainly not last, visit to this charming little place. The staff are lovely, the decor is beautiful and the various dishes emerging from the kitchen looked very appetizing. My coffee and cake were delicious. Also discovered that there are varied and lively evening entertainments on offer - now that does sound tempting!

We care to the tearoom tonight for a joint baby shower with my work mates. We were made very welcome. The place is clean and quirky. The food was amazing. Beautiful cakes, tasty sandwiches, lovely quiche and plentiful tea and coffee, nothing was too much trouble, lovely choice of gins too. Reasonably priced and beautifully served. Loved it. Came here for a private function for breakfast and everything was laid out perfectly, the only think I worked say is you expect the croissants to be fresh ones, not the long life ones from supermarkets. Also the cake was very bland and cheap jam inside and the buttercream just tastes of butter, other wise lovely

Went for afternoon tea with my daughter yesterday. I had forgotten to book but made a last minute phone call in the morning and was amazed at the helpfulness of the lady who managed to reserve me a table. The staff were so obliging, friendly, very efficient and attentive without being pushy. The afternoon tea was superb....far better than many I have had that cost twice the amount. The atmosphere was lovely and relaxed. Even with a 50th birthday table in the adjacent room it wasn’t noisy. I would unreservedly recommend this tea shop. I will definitely be back very soon.

If you are passing through Hinckley (or staying at Sketchley Grange and don't have their breakfast buffet included), try this delightful tea room, with a varied menu should you be there for breakfast, lunch or tea. Prices are reasonable and service is friendly. It's not very large so book if you can. It's also on a small lane (Regent Court) off the main street (Regent St. ) It's between the Ada Homecare and Coventry building signs in case the GPS/Satnav only takes you so far.

Having been given a voucher for three afternoon teas for Christmas, myself, mother and 8 year old daughter booked in during half term.

What an amazing find. Fantastic selection of food with more than one option for dairy and gluten free which is a rarity. Wonderful, friendly, helpful staff. The food was presented beautifully, with big portions and amazing quality.

We were walking round Hinckley trying to find a suitable place to go for tea and cake and came across The Buttercream tea room.Nice little find, the cakes were very nice and tea served the vintage way in china cups and saucers.

Thoroughly enjoyed afternoon tea at buttercream tearoom yesterday. The food was amazing and very well presented. We couldn’t manage it all and had to take some home. Loved the vintage China tea cups and plates. My children thought the peter rabbit theme was amazing along with the additional sweets and chocolates. The staff were very friendly and accommodating despite the fact we hadn’t booked. It was very busy, but the service was great.

Have had a few afternoon teas at various places...this is the nicest I've ever had!

We were made very welcome and our needs looked after very well. Within our party of 10 we had 3 vegans, 2 vegetarians and a diabetic !!...so we really tested the staff but they managed very well and we were all presented with an amazing selection of sandwiches, homemade quiche, cakes and puddings with endless pots of tea and coffee. Everyone really enjoyed their food and some took home their leftovers in the boxes provided. Staff were very friendly and attentive and we never felt rushed. They also have an amazing selection of Gins but unfortunately I was driving so had to stick to Cappuccino. The price was £15.50 per head and definately value for money. Highly recommended especially if you want a quiet corner for private parties.

We were a group of 18 adults. All had a drink on arrival. A three course meal which was delicious. Entertainment was provided by a drag artist and then afterwards music/disco by their own singing chef! Great service, friendly staff and a great night all round.

This is a “proper” tearoom and they really know what they’re doing!!! We visited today following several(!) recommendations from friends and had a brilliant lunch - 2 excellent Full English Breakfasts (served all day) and a kiddies ham sandwich for our 11m baby - which came with crudités and a few crisps. Everyone was really welcoming and really friendly, service was quick and the food was excellent - one of the best brekkies we’ve had as it happens! Everything was cooked perfectly and was high quality. Very good coffee too (a latte and a cappuccino) which was worth the visit alone tbh.

Along with a group of friends, all retired from the local college, we decided on a breakfast gathering apposed to a Christmas dinner. The tea room was a great find. Cosy, clean, quirky with beautiful old fashioned tea cups, saucers and plates and tea in pots!

This place is amazing if you have allergies. Took my little girl for Peter Rabbit afternoon tea for her 4th birthday and she loved it. She is allergic to quite a few things but nothing was too much trouble. We have visited since and they have even brought items in specifically. Lovely place, fantastic staff!! Would definitely recommend.

Quirky atmosphere and tucked away from the noisy streets, hot food is gorgeous and the cakes are beautifully made. Good price, no complaints.

Popped in for coffee and a cake, busy place, lucky to get a table as a lot were pre-booked...a little noisy when it gets full and a bigger dollop of clotted cream for the fruit scone would get five stars, but we'll worth a visit....staff very welcoming...

I have known of this tea room for a while now but never ventured in. I wanted something different from the usual haunts so looked on trip advisor. I saw this was high on the viewings so we gave it a try. It was soooo lovely. Great service and yummy food fairly priced. I will definitely be going back and have booked for one of their burlesque evenings now!

My mum , Gran, 2 daughters (1 a baby) and myself. came to visit your loverly tearoom yesterday afternoon . We had called to book the day before and we had mentioned that my mother had a intolerance to cream and dairy . We thought we would give you a heads up just incase ..... well what can I say . You had made my mum her very own afternoon tea . Everything made from scratch . She was so happy as she would normally just get thobbed off with fruit and a couple more sandwiches . You had actually made her sausage rolls and puddings that wouldn’t usually be on the afternoon tea ☺️ And for the little ones afternoon . That was up to scratch aswel. Truly amazing experience . Thank you so much and we will be visiting you again very soon .

I stumbled across this tearoom by chance and really enjoyed my visit. The staff were attentive and friendly and I only wish I had more time to try the cakes. I will defiantly be back. If in the area this is well worth a visit.

A traditional tea room serving snacks,home made cakes and a generous pot of tea. While we were there several other tables were partaking of the afternoon tea at £14.95. This looked plentiful and very appetising. A definite venue for a tea break whilst shopping in Hinckley, the town itself has pulled itself out of the doldrums of the 1990s and early naughties and is once again a nice place to visit.

Four generations of ladies from my family experienced a delightful afternoon at the Buttercream Tearoom today. Fresh home cooked cakes and sandwiches made the Afternoon Teas served with fresh fruits and salad garnish, excellent. Thank you for the warn welcome, lovely ambiance and tea refills.

Visited with my grandchildren who thoroughly enjoyed the Peter Rabbit themed afternoon tea. So much effort and thought had been put into decorating the tea room and cakes etc.with Peter Rabbit accessories, the children’s sandwiches were in the shape of Rabbits. The children even had their photographs taken with a huge cut out of Peter and the owner printed off their photographs onto stickers! The adult tea was excellent, all sandwiches, scones, cakes And delicacies we’re freshly made, tasty end delicious. Staff were very attentive without being obtrusive and ensured that we had plenty of fresh tea. This tea room is now a lovely place to visit and I would highly recommend it. We will without doubt be calling in very soon.

I have visit the tearoom on many occasions now both afternoon and evening and it is fair to say that is is lovely. The food is beautifully prepared and the staff cannot do enough for you. Also great Gluten free options. Would definitely recommend.

We were looking for somewhere local for Afternoon Tea, and Buttercream Tearoom was recommended by several people. Being set in the middle of town, fully licensed and being great value at £15.00 per person, it was the perfect venue.

Fantastic full English breakfast all cooked fresh and to order. Lovely surroundings and genuine staff. A real treat.

The service was brilliant and the staff very friendly. I'd recommend it the everyone, but it helps to book in advance because it can get very busy.

We visited on a quiet day and the service was very friendly and attentive. The decor added a special atmosphere to the occasion and the choice of freshly cooked food would appeal to most tastes.The cakes especially tempted the ladies to abandon any thoughts of a diet to try as much of the display as possible. The portions were generous and my scone with thick cream and jam went down very well.

What a beautiful place, we had my friends Babe shower there and it was just perfect! Ruth and Jean are just so lovely, welcoming and hospital. We had the whole place to ourselves and it was just perfect! We had afternoon Tea and again just lovely best Afternoon Tea I have had with all the trimmings ... perfect venue and licensed so we could have some prosecco ... 100 percent recommend!
