Service has gone downhill. The guy working the tills was so rude. It is not a clean as it used to be, it looks like a really deep clean is needed. If it was not for the fact, I was getting a quick meal for the kids before we went out, I would have walked out.

First time using this chippy, food was fantastic. Had jumbo battered sausage and chips with curry sauce. Batter wasn’t oily and chips were fluffy. Will defo come here again

A different experience from 3 years ago unfortunately. Battered haddock very greasy and it was early in the evening too. Chips were OK though. Not cheap either.

Fish smaller than I thought. Medium to me was small so if you like fish go for large. Would have liked it better if it was less greesy.

Fish and chips are nicely done and freshly prepared and we enjoyed ours. Two big fish and a big chips are enough for two adults and two children. They kids meals with free drinks. And they do pickled eggs and gherkins, sausages and other usual chippy stuff. They charges 40p for a small pot of ketchup or mayonnaise. Free parking outside. Coop next door.

Found after visiting family. Lovely fresh hot food.

Not Good. The only thing big about the Large Fish was the price. Then adding on top the fish was over done and the oil that was used must have been old because the batter was soo dark. I was really looking forward to fish for lunch but wish I had had a sandwich now. The place is very clean and staff were polite and service was quick but room for improvement. Hopefully it's just an off day. Unfortunately not worth the price.

Overcooked fish, and dark toffee coloured batter, tried to call and complain later that evening, however the business more important than the call, trying out The Loft in Summersdale this week

Fish and chips tasted really good and was the least greasy fish and chips I have ever had. I managed to eat the whole portion, normally I find the grease makes me give up about halfway through.

highly recommend this fish and chip shop. Excellent service and brilliantly cooked food. Really reasonable prices and you never have to wait long even though everything is cooked to order and fresh.

Honestly the best food we have had since being here and we have tried so many chipshops! Crispy batter, beautifully cooked chips, big portions, lovely staff, easy parking, good value. Nothing bad to say apart from I'm gutted I spent so much at other places before finding this gem!

Looking at the reviews I must have caught this on a bad day. Chips must have been sat there ages then reheated. Sausage in batter, batter was soggy. Working in the area will try one more time tomorrow, if no better never again. Shame as have a 2 year contract in the area with loads of builders coming on site. Could lose a lot of custom here.

On holiday and this was nearest to where I was staying. Excellent! Fish batter was spot on. Portions were good sizes.

Since the new people have taken over, this is the 4th time I have been there. Each time there has been a problem. On previous occasions, they just got the simple things wrong like no salt and vinegar despite requesting, I can understand this being missed once but not 3 times.The wait times are always lengthy However this time i went with my family so we ordered at the same time but paid separately. I waited around 20 minutes before receiving my order - as they serve food in the order of people that arrived (regardless of what you order it seems. My order arrived, but my brothers did not - they brought out 3 other peoples that ordered after us. They appear to have lost their order. So another wait. By the time their food appeared our was barely warm. Which was disappointing as we were going to Bosham harbour to eat them. To make it worse again they did not put any salt and vinegar on them - despite asking.

If you are in the Bosham area and would like to taste the best fish and chips around then visit Bosham Fish & Chips (Butlers) in Station Road, Bosham (in between hairdresser Jessica Hayler and the small Co-op). We live locally but hadn't visited for quite a while. On Friday 23 July 2021 we ordered two cod and a large portion of chips and, as always in the past, they were delicious. I thoroughly recommend this shop. Keep up the good work, owner Max!

Tasty fish chips, scampi, pies and burgers

We usually use our local fish and chips shop when fancy chips but as we were visiting my son who lives nearby to Butler's, for tea we all decided that good old fish and chips would be a great alternative for a takeaway. We weren't disappointed with Butler's fish and chips, both chips and fish were a delightful golden brown, no excessive fat and quite delicious. Very nice.

Went there on a recommendation and wasn’t disappointed. My wife had the cod and said it firm and tasty - not slimy. I had the chicken - cooked to order, also very tasty.

Very tasty food, the best around!

Ordered fish & chips takeaway and just in conversation with the friendly lady on the phone mentioned that the order was for my grans 98th birthday. When we collected our order we received a really lovely Happy Birthday message written on the containers and an extra present in with our order. It was extremely thoughtful, took us all by surprise, and made her lockdown-birthday that extra bit special. Thank you again.

Had a £5 senior's portion of fish and chips and really wish I hadn't. Swimming in grease, batter uncooked underneath. Don't know what kind of fish it was( not cod or Haddock ) but tasteless.Chips overdone.

Frequent Friday lunchtime visitors. They do a fantastic job. The premises are spotlessly clean and the fish is really well cooked.

Very Bad! We ordered two sets of cod and chips on a day trip to Bosham. The batter was overcooked and soggy at the bottom. The chips were dry and looked/tasted like they were yesterday’s chips that had been re-fried in old oil. Overall, the food was of such poor quality that it was unbelievable that this shop felt it was acceptable to sell it in the first place.

I struggle to understand how a shop can get such basic cooking so wrong. Battered sausage was soggy and cold and dripping in fat. The chips were fat drenched and soggy. The fish was tasteless and the batter again drenched in fat and soggy. The chef's clearly need to retrain. If they had 0 stars I would give 0

Very nice food, good service, friendly staff and very good value. Covid-19 regulations made it feel safe and clean. Will be back again soon!

It 7:30 and was nice and quiet - no queue Only a few pies and sausages left so I ordered a large battered sausage and chips When I got home the box only contained chips - no sausage! Phoned and got an apology and offer to sort it out but I hardly felt like a 3 mile drive to get a sausage !

In the five years that we have lived in Bosham, we have probably eaten at least 50 fish suppers courtesy of Butlers. The fish has always been fresh, the chips perfect and the clever simple system that the shop uses to deal politely and efficiently with with its many demanding customers make it a pleasure to visit. The best chippie in West Sussex methinks, and unquestionably one of the best in the country.

Curry sauce is lacking in flavour, but decent battered sausage and chips! They don't take cards, which is really annoying when the Co-op ATM is not working. Definitely something they could easily sort out - particularly in this day and age!

Fish was just about right, chips were moist. So many fish and chips shops fry it too long and let it too dry. But this shop didn't betray us! We shall come back.

First time at this Chippy and we had a thoroughly enjoyable fish supper. Yes there was a long queue but the staff were very efficient and there were certainly no delays. Food quality was good and hot. I'll go back when we're next in the area. Thank you.

Went here for take away fish and chips on our first evening staying in Bosham as an extended family of 6 adults and 4 children. Order taken quickly and efficiently and delivered as required. Definitely worth the visit.

Staying close by at the Touring Park - this was an ideal place for easy, fast food. Lovely choice of fish & meats - all served up non-greasy, and really good opening hours (lunch & evenings, 6 days a week). Highly recommended.

Nice food but small portions of chips .

We visited on a recommendation after seeing a production at Chichester theatre. Good freshly cooked cod and chips, took down to the harbour to eat whilst watching boats from the sailing club racing. Great value, well presented. Definitely worth a visit - just note location is about a mile and a half from the harbour, so visit on way to car park rather than walk otherwise food will be cold by the time you arrive at the harbour.

Having recently moved into the area, I was looking forward to having fish and chips from my local chippy. Sadly disappointed. The chips were fine, but the large fish, whilst large, had extremely soggy batter...and lots of it! I don't have salt and vinegar added in the shop, for that very reason, soggy batter, but this was soggy all by itself. I usually love batter, but had to peel off and throw away a large percentage of the batter on my fish, it was inedible. Won't be returning that's for sure, which is such a shame.

We’ve been getting our fish and chips here for the last few years and they’re our favourite traditional chippy in the area. The fish and chips are well priced and always with good sized cod/the right amount of batter, and the chip portions are generous. Staff are happy to chat and you can order by phone prior to collecting which is a bonus.

My family trip was made complete by being to able to get some good fish & chips to take down to the harbour. Just such a trip down memory lane and enjoyed every last chip!

If you are staying in the area at say Concierge Camping you will do well to call in at Butlers - the are probably the best fish and chips you will find anywhere.

Fish and chips are always good in here and it is always busy so I can't be the only one to think so.

Had plaice and chips and cod and chips from Butlers. Prices are very reasonable and the orders are generally cooked to order so your takeaway will be hot and fresh. Good selection of kids options and pies. Busy chippy as Butlers serves a big area. One watch out - cash only. But there is a cash till in the supermarket in the same row.

Great fish and chips. Menu with a range of choices and good value children's menu. Sometimes you can have a bit of a wait but they take telephone orders.
