Buth Bheag in Highland

Had the haddock wrap with homemade pesto and my God it was magnificent. Beautiful fresh fish, crispy batter and was the first time I've had pesto with fish and it was superb. Don't pass this place by as the fish is so fresh and the staff are lovely.

Excellent gluten free Fish & chips, friendly efficient staff, lots of little chics etc available to buy also. Gf haddock wrap also looked amazing

I'd heard about Fisherman's Kitchen previously but until this week we hadn't found them open. 5☆ for serving only gluten free fish chips which are cooked fresh to order. Cullen skink best I've ever tasted and great value for money!!!! I had Cullen Skink last week for £9 for a bowl with gf bread - found 1 piece of fish - more like leek and potato 🥔. Fisherman's Kitchen Cullen Skink FULL OF FISH 🐟- DELICIOUS - GOt some to take home in our own bowls - something to look forward too. We will be back.

I had the best hot smoked salmon baked potato of my life here. It was, admittedly, the first one I've ever had, but the potato was cooked just right, and the side salad came with a delicious dressing. The coffee was good, too. Staff were very friendly, too. Sadly they didn't have prawns the day I was here, but I was not disappointed by the alternative! One of the tastiest meals I had on my trip, and extremely reasonably priced! I'd be tempted to come back to the Kyle just to go here.

Situated next to the Lochalsh Hotel, huge menu, really busy but only waited few mins, ate haddock wrap and hot smoked salmon roll, huge portions and v v tasty, sat next to the sea wall, what could be better. Great food, we will return.

The Haddock wrap really did hit the mark it was so good and the Cullen Skink was … wow the portions were good as well no scrimping here. I’ll be making a 150 mile journey every weekend for a special lunch.

Perfect stop for a late lunch. Small wait as cooked fresh. Given a ticket/order number and called when ready - great system. Fabulous fish and chips, crispy batter and succulent white fish, and tasty home made tartar sauce, with a stunning view from the outside seating area.

Visited twice in one week, one the first occasion we were very hungry so we had the gluten free fish and chips with homemade sauce tartare. The meal was beautifully cooked and delicious and the portion size was generous. Two days later we returned for a bowl of Cullen skink, which was just as good as my mother’s. It was busy on both occasions but they kept the queue moving.

They are not a chip shop. Which is a great thing! Proper battered fish, fresh crab meat and languisines made our meal for 4 amazing. Worth the 67 day drive from Singapore to Kyle.

Had mixed seafood roll including crab, delicious and reasonably priced! Daughter had crab filled roll and she thoroughly enjoyed it too! Fancied one of their ice cream cones later but they were closed.

An excellent seafood takeaway. We bought a couple of seafood boxes to take with us to a quiet spot a few miles away as it was another typically hot and sunny day in the West Highlands. There was a good range of food, all prepared to order, and they are clear that this is not a fish and chip establishment - which is available elsewhere in Kyle of Lochalsh.

This quaint little fish shop on the Harbour Slipway in the Kyle of Lochalsh serves an array of delectable fresh seafood! My battered fish with salad was generous and absolutely delicious as was my daughter’s baked potato with prawn mayonnaise! Beautifully served in recyclable boxes, we enjoyed our lunch al fresco on wooden tables and benches! The only negative aspect was being made to hurry our lunch by the tour operator who had brought us there which I felt was completely unnecessary given that we had been eating for barely 15 minutes!!

We came here for dinner and we were very pleased, the ladies behind the till were very nice and we quickly got our food. I stopped here this morning having read reviews about the place . I bought a Crab salad box and a Prawn one , both lovely and fresh and with a huge amount of meat and at £5.50 each , an absolute bargain . Loved the red grapes in the Crab salad . Would definitely recommend .

I really struggle to find good food when in Scotland, with many of the tourist traps serving the same boring menu. We came all the way back to this place from Edinburgh to have another great Gluten free fish and chips.I had been previously and it was out of this world so when my friend from Germany was here I brought him up to Kyle to try them. I can only say great things and it’s very rare I give 5 stars but I have to here.The batter is crispy the fish is soft and the chips nice and crispy even though it’s gluten free you would not notice the difference in fact I would say it’s better than the normal batter.This time they had run out of boxes but had kept 2 for us as we pre ordered to make sure we got some.The fish is delivered daily and they have nearly every kind of fish in there it all looks amazing and fresh.I wish them luck with there new business adventure and will be back

We were traveling from Kirkcaldy to Skye, so just before crossing the bridge we decided to have some food. My husband and daughter had fish and chips, I had Cullen skink and smoked salmon salad. The portion were massive and the fish so fresh! Oh my that salmon... Tastier one I have ever had! Ok, it's not cheap, but to me it was super worth it. Loved the homemade oatcakes with the food. Very helpful and friendly staff. Fish looked and tasted very fresh.This is mainly a take away place,there are tables outside and that's it.Really enjoyed, I surely stop again next time we're up there.Thank you

I stopped in on my way home from work to pick up a fish supper - traditional fish and chips. These were totally amazing - the batter light and crisp, the fish tasted of fish (I know that sounds bizarre but so often the fish is tasteless), huge amount of chips (crisp on the outside and fluffy and light on the inside), and a generous tub of homemade tartare sauce. Margaret has made a sensible decision - she has developed a gluten free batter that is wonderful. You would not know it is GF unless told, she only cooks using that one batter so her fryers have no risk of gluten contamination. Totally recommended.

We were leaving Skye and I wanted a something quick and easy we could takeaway. This place was absolutely perfect and was probably the best quick meal we had during our entire holiday. The crab roll with salad and a bag of crisps hit the spot and service was excellent.

The building looks brand new and is a welcome addition to the harbour side in the Kyle. The menu isn’t extensive, but what they have is simple, fresh and amazing food at very reasonable prices. I tried the prawn tails, roll and Cullen Skink. Despite it being a cold, damp September afternoon, the place was doing a steady trade. Testament to the quality and value on offer. Next time I’m in the Kyle, or just passing through, I’ll definitely be calling in for shellfish nirvana.

Friday night and I decided to have Fish and Chips from the Fisherman's Kitchen. I ordered Cod and chips and Margaret served me. I waited as everything is cooked to order (I have no problem with this). She gave me my order and it looked great. The fish was super fresh and the batter was to die for. The chips were cooked to perfection. Now for the only down side!!! There was TOO much to finish (and I am a big eater). Fantastic food and fantastic portions. This could become a regular feast on a Friday night...

We stopped by this takeaway joint to get some quick lunch on our way to Skye and we were very glad we did. Their crab salad bowl was great.... the crab meat was fresh and the dressing was tasty. The amount of crab meat in the salad was well worth the GBP6 we paid. Good value for your money.Too bad they only had 2 outside tables which we can't use as it was raining.

Much acclaimed award winning kitchen offering fresh prawn rolls and ham sandwiches on their menu, plus a great cup of tea. Lochalsh is a small area with few shops (other than the Co-op supermarket). Perfect when waiting to board the train which is the reason most people visit the area. Table area outside

I visited Buth Bheag at the harbour in Kyle of Lochlash in April 2019 to sample their award winning Cullen Skink. All I can say is that it is definitely award-worthy. Very tasty. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Thanks for a great experience.

Stopped in for a quick lunch and were blown away by how delicious everything was. They have world championship winning Cullen Skink (like a fish chowder) that is great, and also try a fresh crab or fish roll. Nice people and perfect stop eating with all the locals.

Delicious fresh , locally sourced fish,scallops,prawns.crab and stock Manuela's bread too. Sandwiches available too. If the boats can't go out range of fish limited. You can't get fresher than that. Fabulous wee place.

after a disappointing meal at waterside seafood restaurant, i decided to try a different option for lunch. i am so glad i did. the scallops in garlic butter were perfectly cooked. and the accompanying salad was ideal -- with a light balsamic vinegar dressing. the shrimp sandwich was equally tasty. the scallops were 1/3 of the price i paid at the waterside restaurant. i do understand that they are different experiences (one being a cozy restaurant, the other being a seafood stand with picnic tables). but the seafood was prepared so much better at this simple stand. i only wish that i had discovered it earlier in my visit -- i would have eaten here again.

Really good place to stop on the way into Skye. There's a good selection of seafood and ice-creams, plus the lady who works there is very helpful. The baked potatoes are both delicious and prepared quickly. Plus you can eat them outside in the sun.

Called here this week to get a sandwich to eat alfresco on the quayside. It is not a big place and is tucked behind the Co-op and to the side of the slipway, so you could miss it if driving through.

Our Scottish trip this year should be subtitled the Cullen Skink Trail. We are great lovers of this delicious Scottish haddock soup- everyone does it differently, but Buth Bheag does it better than most, as well as cheaper than many! Small £3.50 or Large £4.50, two large bowl like cartons with brown buns, full of tender smoked fish and soft potato in a delicious creamy broth, absolutely delicious.
