Glad I walked there as I was able to enjoy a Long Island Ice Tea cocktail! Outside area is lovely and if you have the children with you there is a large field for them to run and play, plus climbing frames. Not many pubs have such a large garden where you can enjoy the full evening sunshine.

Visited this pub on a little family outing we had last weekend and was greeted with positive and happy staff who accommodated our last minute arrival. Being an ex chef in a popular Essex restaurant, I can be quite picky at times when it comes to eating out (call me a snob but I just like tasty, fresh food)I ordered the cottage pie and was very impressed. this may be an easy dish to cook but there was something different about this one, and that's when I spoke with the chef and see his process and what he done to make it as good as what it was, especially the overnight slow cooked slab of beef he was prepping for the next day. Drinks were served in good timing and will be returning in the near future.

Thought we'd try the restaurant for dinner tonight. The menu in the pub differed from that on the website, and has less choice, especially if you're vegetarian. I ordered the 'Posh Cottage Pie' which described itself as coming with vegetables and dauphinoise potatoes. So good so far. What arrived was basically a pile of meat in gravy and looked nothing like a Cottage Pie. Further, this meat was not beef, but lamb. In fairness there was a lot of lamb, enough to feed four, however, there were four thin slices of potato laid on top of this pile of meat, not dauphinoise in the slightest. The vegetables, a few random carrots and mushy cauliflower had been microwaved within an inch of their lives. When we queried with the chef that a Cottage Pie is made with beef and a Shepherds Pie is made with lamb, he said, 'oh, I didn't cook that, the owner cooked it'. Is the owner around? 'No, he's not in today.' So the food was obviously not cooked when I ordered it and therefore must have been warmed up. The waitress called the owner who said 'it's 100% beef and that we were wrong'. I'm sorry, I'm 45 years old, have eaten meat all my life and I've never confused beef with lamb before, they're quite distinct flavours, look different, smell different and certainly taste different. If the owner can't tell the difference then he shouldn't be in the kitchen the day (2 days or week, who knows) before cooking meals. We won't be returning and judging by another table of four that came in, sat down, ordered drinks and asked 'is there anything on the menu that doesn't contain meat?' were told, 'well, we could do a mushroom pasta' but otherwise no, they then left to find somewhere else to eat and I wished we'd done the same. To finish off, they kindly automatically added a 10% service charge to our bill. How kind. Definitely don't go to this pub for the food.

Whilst travelling home to West Kent, we decided to drop into the BBT for a quick lunch. It was fairly busy but we had a choice of table and the drinks and meal service was friendly and efficient. The menu changes regularly and the choice is good but not overpoweringly large. The food was excellent. The chef must take pride in their presentations which are hunger-curing in size.

If they advertise delivery then they should make arrangements to keep the food hot. We have had food delivered to paddock wood from other people in east peckham and never had cold food before. Maybe we were a way down the delivery slot, I dont know. Shame really because there was nothing wrong with the food, but when you spend £30 you expect a bit more.

Five of us came for Sunday lunch. The food was very good. The setting is wonderful, it looks like everybody’s idea of a perfect country pub. The roast dinners were generous with Yorkshire puddings, cauliflower cheese, beans etc. The beer comes from the barrel, and it excellent. We all had puddings though we were full, but we had seen them served to other tables and they looked good. Recommended.

We went as a family of four for Sunday lunch. The food was amazing. We choose our meals from both the traditional Sunday lunch menu and normal menu, which had a great choice. The service from the bar staff and waiting staff was first class, adhering to the new covid measures. A fabulous atmosphere, extremely clean in both the bar area and toilets. There is a very large garden and a pleasant covered terrace if you want to sit outside. The pub is now under new management that have given it a total transformation with the make over and it looks great. Have visited The Bush frequently over the years. It has recently been nicely refurbished under new management. Drinks are on the pricey side, but that's common around Kent. With limited pub options in the village, The Bush is one of the better ones, they host a great Vinyl Night on sundays, and classic car meets in the huge back garden. Being back old landlord and their chef! Had dinner here and sorry to say we won’t be rushing to return for food. We are local (live in the village and walk here) and used to go at least once a month if not more. This was always our go to for a good hearty meal. As local we support local, and I so wanted this to be good... but it just wasnt, and I’m slightly gutted about this! Food was edible... but more like a beefeater... all processed, frozen rubbish and probably comes from bookers! Menu choice is poor and seriously lacking variety and inspiration (thought this maybe due to Covid so willing to over look). But No chicken, one fish dish, one steak, a vegan tart, a Greek salad (as a main???) burger and some scampi. Really poor quality yet really pricey. I had steak as all I would eat and it was 21.95. Pretty average price for a steak now but for a pretty small uninspiring meal. The sauce was nice, steak was ok, lack of vegetables was very very noticeable. Stated it comes with green beans. .... Well gone are the days of the old chef with plentiful portions or everything and especially veg.... This was about 3 green beans max chopped into 4 pieces each to look like more (or maybe the frozen green bean pieces you can buy!!!! . I thought another dish was going to come out with veg but nope! Also no children’s menu at all.... no sides (so can’t just order chips) no extras... just poor! The food came very quickly which again shows that it isn’t freshly made and probably just reheated (deep fried/frozen). Don’t get me wrong it was “nice”... but that was it... just nice! I won’t be rushing back and will be travelling out of the village if I want to eat out now. Please Don’t bother with puddings, 6.95 for a small (tiny actually) slice of a processed tart similar to that which can be easily brought in tesco for 2 quid with double cream poured over. It was bland and boring. Nothing here is inspiring or homemade. Not one single thing! There was 5 of us eating and out of them 3 drinking beer, 6pints between them (others on soft drinks)... we all had 2 courses and the bill was over 150quid!!!!! Approx 30 pound a head. I pay this at other local places that serve decent homemade lovely food, but I just felt robbed here as processed and small portions. Didn’t even get a bill presented. Just did it on a hand held so couldn’t seem to check bill!!!! Didn’t know any of the staff which is a shame as they would all have known us, so hoping they haven’t all left!!!! It didn’t feel homely, it didn’t feel friendly and I’m gutted to say I won’t be rushing back for more than a Coke and letting the kids play on the grass.Oh also all the kids toys have gone (again that might be Covid) and the playground is now just one slide... it’s dire. I really wanted someone to take that space and make it special (other local nearby pubs have great gardens) and bring some great food in (great chef) and make its mark. But overall it’s processed, it’s boring and just feels Manufactured. Such a shame as someone with vision could have really made a mark especially with the food. Almost feel bad writing this but if you have been to the Bush before lockdown and loved it... don’t go now, especially for food, as you will feel so disappointed and cheated. Really hoping this is just teething issues but when you begin by serving poor/average food... you are only ever going to be poor/average unless you get a chef with vision, or who likes to actually cook, not stick chips in a fryer! Last but not least... NO PIE (those that know... know!!!!)

I visited with my family having loved the pub under it's old management.Unfortunately it has really gone down hill in every respect. Portions were stingy, food greasy and not tasty. Food was clearly pre cooked and just heated up to serve with very little effort going into the preparation or presentation. Despite this the prices were very dear costing just under 40 quid for a starter and main for two, with only one drink. The atmosphere has completely gone and clearly a cost saving regime has dragged down every thing that made this pub a once great place to visit.I won't be back and I'm very disappointed.

A group of five of us ordered various baguettes with hot fillings. In the middle of ordering the person serving us stopped to take a telephone call without so much as an apology. She then proceeded to bark at us as to who was going to pay for the two remaining unpaid ones, well it was the person who had patiently waited for her to finish the phone call and was holding a twenty pound note in front of her! At this stage we were not told to collect our own cutlery from by the door! The food was served, the last plate delivered, we had all waited to start assuming the cutlery was coming.,but no. 'Could we have some cutlery please?' one of us asked. 'It's by the door on the right (or she may have said left we were so shocked we can't remember) She walked off. There was also no 'would you like any sauces, is there anything I can get for you, enjoy your meals as would be the usual custom when serving food. Shocked and not wanting our food to get any colder we ate the rather underwhelming food with our fingers. One would expect at those prices much better all round. Maybe if the Wetherspoons business model is to be adopted then prices could be less, food better, staff let you know where the cutlery is when you order and also staff be welcoming and provide a good standard of service.

We visited the pub for a meal, as a large group of over 20 people. The staff were lovely and the food was very good and served quickly and efficiently and very reasonably priced. It would have been a lovely time had the landlord not been very rude and abrupt even shouting at some customers who were trying to find a table. Perhaps he was just having a bad day - I hope so anyway but we won’t be returning!

The car rally is on every 1st Sunday of the month and is a great attraction with a good selection of classic cars super cars and motor bikes and scooters. A must visit for all you petrol heads. The two charming gentlemen who organise the event and parking of the cars are always a pleasure to talk to and very passionate about cars and bikes. Great pub with great food and ales from the barrel.

We were passing by on a hot day and thought we’d pop in. We had a nice spot under the pagoda, but unfortunately it is a smoking area which wasn’t quite so pleasant. The garden is huge so a nice spot for non smokers (or even smokers who like to eat their food without fumes!) would be a very good idea!! The food was standard and what was expected for the price paid. The restrooms weren’t used by our party so cannot comment.

So whilst having treatment in Kings Hill I decided to explore the area local to the hospital and found this gem in East Peckham. It was in the middle of the country and it first struck how peaceful it was. Staff were friendly and I enjoyed a delicious seafood platter! The only criticism is that...I wished I lived closer! Fab pub..go out of your way to come here and enjoy a great meal.

Had the scampi and chips for lunch here and it was lovely! Scampi actually had meat in and it was lush. Large portions so had to skip dessert but good for the price! Maybe if going with people with small appetites one meal can be shared between two

The vegtables were for five people .one small dish supplied we had to ask for more which arrived on an even smaller dish . In contrast to oher visits we were far from happy about the meals . I trust we were unlucky on this occasion .

Always a warm welcome we eat here quite often and the food and service is always consistently excellent. Real ales straight from the barrel and very well kept. There is a large beer garden which is nice to sit outside in the summer. The classic car meetings are a great attraction.

We’ve visited the BBT five or six times since Christmas (2017). It’s always reached beyond our expectations. On New Year’s Day before noon we found it clean, aired and warm despite having been rocking the previous evening. Our walking group had its yearly lunch there in mid-January, Everyone delighted and pleased. As a family we had Sunday lunch there last week - better than good. Sensible pricing. Efficient service. Just rush along and have a good time

My wife and I stopped here for lunch whilst out for the day - what a little gem. Nice surroundings and very friendly with a good choice of menu. Whilst perhaps just a little more expensive than other similar meals we have eaten in pubs, it has to be said that there was absolutely no scrimping on the portions and the quality of the food served was truly excellent. It's certainly on our list to visit again, next time we are out for the day in Kent!

This is a nice pup with friendly staff. It's a local for my companions and we went for a drink and decided to share a meal. We shared a seafood mixed dish. Scampi, whitebait, prawns etc. it was very average. Some of the other meals we saw served looked better however I haven't tried any so I can't personally comment My companions said usually the food was better and mostly enjoyable so perhaps we picked a bad night. (However, they don't enjoy the Sunday roast lunches here as they found the potatoes were hard and meals not to their liking)But the pub has atmosphere and is a great place for a drink. It's also great for families on the weekends. And as a typical friendly local in a village it's worth a visit.

We three adults had lunch here today, just simple sausage baguettes salad and cheesy chips. More like a full meal it was excellent in every way. Speedy service with a smile. Freshly baked baguettes, fine sausages, and a really lovingly prepared salad which looked and tasted splendid. A slight surprise that the onion in the baguettes was pickle rather than fried onion. Gin served with Fever Tree tonic, lovely. Beer on tap direct from the barrel! Wow, I had forgotten what real ale should taste like. A truly memorable lunch, thank you all and see you again.

We have lived in the area for nearly 25 years, but for some reason we've never been to BB&T. We had friends to stay for the weekend and thought this was the moment to try it for Sunday Lunch. We booked by phone on the Thursday prior, but on arrival were unable to locate the booking. Although the pub was virtually empty as we arrived around 1215, the landlord made a bit of a kerfuffle over finding an available table, but in relatively short order we were seated. Sorry to say that the table felt sticky and not as clean as one would expect. We all ordered Sunday Roast 3 x beef, and 1 x pork. On arrival we all agreed that this was re-heated roast with bisto gravy, and tasteless. In one case the beef was overly fatty and inedible, but in all cases the meat was bland and flavourless. The roast pork didn't even come with apple source, and the horseradish for the bef came in minute servings. The roast potatoes were massive, and could have benefitted from being cut down to a more normal size, albeit that they were quite good. The veg was the standard fare of carrot, peas, and possibly some green beans as well, and cooked well enough. The reason 'I just don't get it' is that the reviews of BB&T are generally quite good, but our experience was a long way short of that to the point that a second visit remains a question mark at best. There are so many pubs that do a really great Sunday Lunch. Hence the need to serve consistently good fare is essential, and I'm not sure the BB&T can deliver on that front.
