Burrito Picante in Trafford

Went in on a quiet Saturday early evening and the staff were great. Completely mad, but great. They asked all the right questions, put the burrito together quickly, and had a laugh while doing it. The burrito was good and for what I got, very good value for money. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in the area.

I’m a massive fan of Mexican food and I’m always on the hunt for great tacos - ordered from here with my Mum and literally can’t fault the food. We ordered tacos, burrito and quesadillas to share and even though it was delivery it arrived warm and it’s so delicious. I particularly was impressed with the beef barbacoa tacos - the flavour was just amazing. I’m gutted I’m out of delivery radius haha but my mums found a new fave Mexican spot.

A good place to eat a burrito, pretty good value for money, the place is quiet and you can eat there.

High quality, tasty food at a reasonable price with excellent service. Both ordering in person and through delivery apps, I have always had positive experience with Burrito Picante. They are always exceptionally quick with regard to delivery service and have hard-working, polite staff. Highly recommend.

This is the 2nd time I’ve ordered a takeaway from here. The first time I was disappointed because the nachos were 90% corn chips, 5% chicken and 5% sauce. I thought I was just unlucky. This was in October. Last night I gave it another chance and ordered a rice box. Nothing like the picture on the website. You’re lucky if you get a teaspoon of each of the ingredients you order and even some of them were completely missing. In phoned and complained. As it was a delivery through JustEat they told me to take it up with them and didn’t accept any responsibility. JustEat do not prepare the order! Absolutely flabbergasted and will never order from them again. Total rip off. Avoid!

Really bad experience. We ordered the naked burrito box with chicken for takeaway. It came freezing cold and had about 1 tablespoon of rice. It was also missing the chicken which was the main ingredient. After explaining it was missing the chicken, we didn’t receive an apology or a refund, as the chicken wasn’t considered a “paid extra”. Imagine ordering a burger and missing the beef patty… Paid £10.50 for this burrito box. See photos below of what we were supposed to get and what actually arrived. This business is not going to survive at this rate.

Had lunch a casual business meeting, this Saturday just gone. The server was nice but when she commented that the food at another halal Mexican place in Rusholme was good - I knew the food was going to be sub par. My contact ordered a large burrito and I had a burrito bowl, also large. Both were nasty! Rice was bland, not black beans but baked beans without the sauce, the shredded chicken was bland and I got dribbles of guacamole. Best thing was the Mexican sodas and our very nice server who managed to convince us both to upsize! In the words of Colin Powell, never again. The owners should be ashamed for selling rubbish and charging premium prices.

Burrito Picante never fails to impress. If variety wasn't the spice of life I'd be eating here every day. The quality, taste and freshness surpasses my expectations every time. It's satisfaction guaranteed and the service is second to none.

Really tasty Burrito, service is a tad slow but the food more than makes up for you having to wait!

Went there today for the first time ever. 2 young girl, one with pink hair was ok, the other one was a horrible person which i assume she likely is in real life if she is whilst getting paid. I wanted to be called next to the counter to order my food but she rudely spoke to me to which i replied "i was waiting to be called up". She replied with a "im sorry?" with a facial expression of, if you dont like it you can leave. I asked for a double filling clearly but she decided to do her own thing and make a small burrito. Whilst doing this, she kept patronising me and speaking in an awfully rude tone. Eventually got to the end to paid and patronised me again with a poor tone of voice "thank you SIRRRR". Vile service. Horrible person. If you had your job, dont take it out on me. The attitude made me hate sitting there eating and i shan't be coming back again. My friends come to Altrincham a lot and ask for places to eat, never will i recommend this place. Fyi, im a child psychologist and have studied psychology for 11 years so i understand tone, body language and behaviour hence why i say all the above with confidence knowing this was her intention. Ive also worked in customer service for many years before and whilst studying and i know what customer service should be. She is not it. She gives the GOOD food a bad taste and needs a reality check of life.

The vegetarian burrito I ordered was full of chicken and had to be thrown away because I don't eat meat. After calling and being told the manager would call me and provide a refund, I never heard from them. I called several times and spoke to two different staff members who repeatedly told me to wait for a call back from the manager. I never heard back and was never given a refund. I ordered a large vegetarian Jackfruit burrito and small nachos from Burrito Picante on Tuesday evening 21st March. It arrived close to 9pm. The nachos came with unmelted cheese and instructions to microwave them. This, as the label explains, is to keep them from getting cold and soggy during delivery. They usually come with the toppings (guacamole, sour cream etc) in separate containers so that you can add them after microwaving without them getting hot. On this occasion, however, the toppings were already poured onto the nachos with the unmelted cheese and so had to be microwaved along with the nachos. Not ideal, but not a big deal either; it was still tasty, though I do think it could use a little more cheese - after the first layer it’s all dry tortilla chips underneath. The real issue arose when I tucked into the burrito. It was a bit cold and less flavourful than usual but was packed like I always expect from Burrito Picante. I’ve ordered this many times before and usually love the flavour and texture of the jackfruit they use. After a couple of bites I began to realise that I wasn’t eating Jackfruit at all, I was eating chicken. Now I’m a vegetarian who hasn’t eaten meat in 6 years (until now), but I do still recognise the texture of chicken in my mouth and having eaten their jackfruit many times - I knew this wasn't it. Some of my meat eating housemates inspected it as well and confirmed that it was definitely chicken. Disappointed, I called Burrito Picante to inform them of the situation and see if I could get a replacement sent over but as it was just after 9pm no-one answered. I called the next day and spoke to a member of staff who took the situation very seriously and said I would be provided a refund by the manager. She said they had a new manager who was still learning the ropes, but she apologised and said she would message the team whatsapp chat about it. She asked me for my number, which I gave, and said the manager would call me the next day, likely in the evening. I waited for the call but it never came, so the next day (Friday 24th) I called the store again and spoke to a different staff member. I caught her up on the situation and she suggested that I might have confused the jackfruit for chicken, but I explained that I had it was definitely chicken and that I still had the burrito wrapped up in the fridge if they wanted to inspect it themselves. She said the manager was off until Sunday and assured me I would be called then and offered a refund. I gave my phone number again and waited for a call. Sunday came and went and I never received a call. I called back on Tuesday 28th and spoke to the staff member I had initially spoken to on Wednesday the week prior. I explained I still hadn’t received a call. She was apologetic and professional and told me she would get the manager to call me back shortly. Weeks later I still haven’t heard from them or been provided a refund. I’m sorry to write such a negative review as while I have found Burrito Picante in the past to be a bit inconsistent in quality and have had orders canceled without reason before, I’ve often found their burritos delicious. Mistakes are inevitable from time to time and can empathise with anyone starting a new position and the challenges that must bring, abiding to dietary requirements really should be the number one priority for any restaurant or takeaway, and the poor customer service (not to be blamed on the staff members I spoke to) I received was unacceptable. Based on my last experience I will not be ordering from Burrito Picante again and can’t recommend that any vegetarian or vegan does either.

9 family members dropped in for a quick lunch. Staff incredibly helpful and patient with whole group but especially the young children. Made sure different options all clear. Food itself was very tasty and great value Would happily visit again.

Thanks his is the third time we have ordered takeaway. The third time we haven’t received everything we’d ordered. Food is cold when it arrives. The nachos have grated unmelted cheese on them. I didn’t think they could get it wrong three times in a row! Don’t bother.

Not great, no sour cream, no guacamole, no authentic cooking in the meats, the “spicy” chicken looks like it was shredded from a roast. Completely white looking with no spice or marinade, no house sauces. Chilli tortilla is 10 times better, this is probably just your standard chain style restaurant. Zero authenticity.

honestly, i'm not the kind of person who leaves certain reviews, but this time i'm really disappointed. I worked in hospitality, I know it's not nice to receive an order 10 minutes before closing, but I would have preferred you to cancel it instead of sending me the cold burritos and with more than half of the requested ingredients they were missing. I'm just telling you I had to heat it up in the microwave. and it's a shame because I had tried it once, and that's why I ordered again without thinking about it. never again.

Usually my go to however on this occasion massively let down. Ordered 2 rice boxes and can honestly say most have received about 6 whole spoonfuls of the rice between both boxes?! Was just shredded beef sauce and cheese none of the extras. Tried to call the company however the line just rings out. Disappointed with not return.

We live locally and have even here a few times - when we first started going a while ago the staff were nice and friendly but recently the staff have been rude and unhelpful. they made a mistake with our order and were very unapologetic and rude to me when I walked back to collect the correct order

Disgraceful attitude from staff who clearly did not want to be there serving customers. Informed customers behind us who had already been queueing for 10 minutes they needed to leave as there was no food left and they were closing. I don’t go into restaurants to be given bad attitude for no reason. Decided to leave without the food and will not be returning.

Visited on 22/10/21 and were warmly greeted by Tiana. She talked us through the process and was kind and efficient. The food was more than we were expecting. Fresh and tasty ingredients. Loved it. Was worth the 35 mile round trip!!! Will be going again!!

Rude staff overpriced food, This is a miserable place and is an insult to Mexican food. Takeaways are overpriced and small cold portions. Sit in and you will be faced with rude miserable staff arguing. Never returning here & hopefully will be shut down soon as no business can survive run by such poor staff

Great little find of a place and worth any detour you've got to make to drop by in person. Very clean inside with a good vibe and friendly staff. First time in and I had no clue what I was doing even after looking at the menu online. Tiarna served us and sorted that out by walking us through it how building one works. Kinda hard to describe my particular burrito (pictured) but the spicy chicken tasted great and the large burritos are properly big. Don't underestimate them and definitely have the sweet potato fries! Everything seemed fresh and even the garlic mayo had a decent quality to it. 100% worth stopping by.

The lady who served us today reminded me of my favourite aunty. Competent, in charge and in control. The churros made me so happy. Piping hot, filled with chocolate and accompanying caramel sauce was spot on. Had nachos too with a selection of sour cream, chipotle and salsa. This place far out-performs barburrito. Why would you bother with a chain when burrito picante exists in this world? Honestly so glad I went here. It's lovely

What a great alternative for a quick bite. So long as you remember it's a street food offering you can get a tasty bite for a good price. Just try not to get too carried away and over order like I did!

Quite disappointed. I read all the reviews thinking I was going to get an amazing meal. Ordered the 6 quesadillas. 1 just had plain beef in it with no other fillings the others just bland If I’m being honest. Boring. Also no sauces that we asked for :/ that’s what the main problem was it really needed the sauce.

I went into Burrito Piccante late afternoon on Friday, I was trying to find anyone in Altrincham what would be able to feed a film crew of 40 at short notice. The Piccante team were more than happy to help and organise making 40 burritos, of 3 different kinds, to be picked up in 2 hours time, whilst being open at the same time. Nick, Ian and especially Sam saved the day and made a crew very happy. I would recommend these guys no end. They sell brilliant burritos and give top service.

I ordered through deliveroo, paid for the meal and 7 minutes before it was meant to be delivered I had a message saying your order has been cancelled, bare in mind we had been waiting 1h30 already and for them to messaged me just before it’s going to be delivered saying it is cancelled is truly disappointing

Ordered from deliveroo today not expecting much but I was extremely surprised and impressed by the quality of the food. The el pastor taco was excellent, call the restaurant to make some changes to my order due to my dietary needs and they were very accommodating. Food arrived piping hot and tasted great, I would highly recommend them.

I've been ordering the corn tacos with lamb pastor pretty much everyday for the last few weeks they are so good. But beware... taco addiction is a thing...I wasnt ready for this place.

Best burritos I've ever had. The staff are friendly, the food is delicious and they've recently changed the menu to add more to it. Plus you can add your own hot sauce to make it as hot as you want. Definitely recommend.
