Burlington in Chesterfield

Food was great. Service was shocking. 1 on the bar on a Saturday afternoon when football and grand national was on. Ordered via the app once and had to go to the bar to get the order to be told I'm busy!!!!

Verry friendly staff only one problem I had was Jacob he talked down on my pregnant misses arguing with his supervisor and being rude and disrespectful to customers jake helped us out a lot making us feel welcome and safe

All staff need training. Cooks can't cook steak asked for well done but couldn't cook it probably and sent it back twice. Service is shocking as bar staff had no clue how to put an order through and wasn't apologetic about the food. It was honestly disappointing as used to be a lovely pub

Always place great music & always busy which is a good sign

Mel the manager and jade made our 3 consecutive visit’s extremely enjoyable. They were super friendly and chatty and down to earth. We come here most weeks at the start of our night out for pre drinks and without fail they always have a smile on their face and make an effort to chat to us. They really do make a good impression of this place. See you next week. ❤️

Spot on lunch at a reasonable price. Food was lovely and hot and was well presented. Felt welcome from the get go. Mel was amazing, cheerful and helpful!

Genuinely one of the worst pubs we have ever been to for service. We live in chesterfield and the pub has good screens for sports but that’s where the positives end. The staff are genuinely rude and miserable, I am a retail and hospitality manager and, if I ran this place, they would all deservedly be out of a job. They clearly don’t want to be at work, a smile is against company protocol and ability to serve efficiently and in order isn’t par for the course. If you have a choice then avoid here, if you want to watch sport try Gasoline, about 5 minutes up the road. You’ll thank me I promise.

Came in with my partner for food and a drink, the small plates tastes amazing and are great value for money, ale also good. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Would definitely come back and recommend to friends ☺️

Came in to watch the Manchester derby. Pints were reasonable. Had a burger which was delicious. Will deffo be back to watch the rugby this weekend

Amazing food, we had a katsu curry, chicken and bacon burger and a side of onion rings, we were served by Jack and lizzy who were both super polite and extremely helpful giving us information of activities to try in and around chesterfield while visiting some family for the week. Would highly recommend will be coming back again.

Been many times first impressions good, now not so good staff rude when asked her to clean food off floor and don't wipe dirty tables down no hygiene.Food not much better seems like not enough staff then causes staff to be abrupt due to running around like headless chicken.At one point sat eating police came in arresting people want come back ,dont recommend at all.Thank you for your reply nothing really to discuss with you .Will never eat here again.

Very nice pub located in the town centre of Chesterfield, great place to sit people watching if you sit by the window looking out at the twisted spire church. Staff very polite and friendly. Worth a visit.

Definitely one to forget. Waited 50 minutes for food which was cold when it finally arrived. We've visited this pub several times but we won't be bothering in future. The prices are cheap and they reflect everything about the place.

The food menu has changed and not for the better. Used to have 5 small plates which had an excellent choice. Now everything has nearly been taken off with a couple of new things added. Onion rings are completely tasteless now also. Added cheese and chorizo croquettes. .... They are awful and by no means a croquette .... Just fell to pieces, are very small and tasteless!! Added are also hunters chicken fries/chips ... Now they ARE recommended!!! Filled potato skins have been taken off, only decent thing still is the chicken goujons. All jacket potatoes on any part of the menu have been taken off also. I used to recommend food at the Burlington but now I would say go to Wetherspoons .... Better choice!!!

Had a fantastic meal, can't recommend the katsu curry or the all day breakfast enough absolutely beautiful, Jak and Becca served us and they were highly professional and very engaging amazing set of staff!

Went to watch rugby and have lunch . The staff put the match on with sound on specific screen and table cleared so we could get best view. Lunch was great value. Very polite and pleasant service. Thank you.

Great atmosphere as packed, music a wee bit loud for me but no mither really. Food was enjoyable and reasonable, seemed understaffed but the young lad bringing out food and drinks clearly has a lot of pride in his work and was very helpful.

Have been going there over a year but today apparently they cannot change me a hash brown to bacon which they have always done so they've lost 3 customers and about £24 that we normally spend, want to work on Customer service

I ordered a burger from the match game bar menu and no way was this food freshly cooked. The burger had a nearly impenetrable external layer comprising of a hard skin. This was clearly microwaved as the interior of the burger meat was lukewarm. I suppose you could class with food as second-hand as it was already prepared once and then reheated. No wonder I have had frequent visits to the toilet since. I hope the Food Standards Agency will send a food inspector round sharpish!

Went to The Burlington for a lunch and Drinks with friends. A nice meal. Reasonable price. Nice atmosphere, friendly bar staff. Would go again

The Burlington - Chesterfield Huge landmark pub, very close to the town’s renowned crooked spire St Mary’s Church. It is very similar to a Wetherspppn#s in food and drink presentation, but the only cask ale was disappointingly unimaginatively Doom Bar. Big screen TV’s for sport coverage, friendly efficient service, but a dull pub and beer experience. Arthur Chappell

Great place, good selection of ales and lagers and a fantastic value mixed grill cooked to perfection. Most of all the pub is lovely and warm in this cold November air. Called in again yesterday for another mixed grill, perfect again.

Came up from London to watch Bromley play Chesterfield and stayed the night. Friend had booked a table as we love sports and what a great night we had here. Good priced beer, food was great, especially the Burning Hot one, which made me sweat. Atmosphere was great, staff brilliant and customers made us welcome. Definitely recommend this boozer.

I had my food and desert brought to me quicker than I even expected! 👨‍🍳 Food: 4.8/5 just as good as the service. The garlic bread was done juust right, for the burger; (unless it was the cheese or double patty); I was surprised. Flavour, taste, not too fiery and crunchy. One of the best around! Unfortunately pizza, cheescake, and Profiteroles are no longer served here.🫤 Finally dessert. Due to changes, I decided I had a lotus biacoff cheesecake, and it was divine. Would have again. Building: 4/5 very standard and modern establishment; can't be too fancy for the vibe they have going; (maybe).😎 Minor note: everything to me checks out in the toilet rooms now since my 1st visit. 👍

went to burlington in chesterfield with my sister , & had a lovely meal there , i had chicken wuth mushroom & brandy sauce ,& my sister had a burger & they were very nice , & they do lovely cappuccinos too lol , the staff there are always very friendly , & there's plenty of seats there , & yes they do let dogs in , but only where there's no carpet , which is understandable .

Great value food whilst watching the football. Didn't wait long for the mixed grills we ordered and all good quality. A couple of inexperienced members of staff on the bar. But the chef and bar manager Vanessa were doing a good job.

Had steak and ale pie, the pie was passable, the mashed potatoes were gloopy, the mixed veg. was chewy and awful, and the gravy was very thick and only just poured out of the jug all in all very disappointing. I shall definitely not be repeating that experience

My sort of pub. Great staff, nice surroundings and a brilliant menu that doesn't cost the earth. Just tasty food, friendly faces, good beer, plenty of room and a fantastic view of the spire if you get a window seat. They've nailed it.

Called for breakfast, good value, good service, and also dog friendly, so will be using them again when in town

Lively pub with music and TV's showing football..popped in for something to eat,table clean with menus in a rack ..ordered food from the bar,good range of basic pub food at sensible prices...2 main courses,a Guinness and a large red wine for 27 quid...food arrived promptly,plenty of it ,nice and hot...great value for money.

Decent enough pub, didn't eat there but the beer was good. The spit/flem on the stairs to the toilet wasn't very appealing though. 🤢

Visited on Friday afternoon, the pub was busy but the service was very fast and friendly! I only had a coffee but saw some of the food being served and it looked delicious. Will definitely stop for lunch next time I’m in Chesterfield!

Value for money Very friendly service and fast service food great Very well served and excellent value same as drinks. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The only thing that let you down was no lasagne and your dessert menu. Apart from that you are a very good pub and I will be back.

It's just a great place to hang out! Food is exceptional, at low prices. The staff are so friendly and work hard on busy nights. All sports shown on TV, a DJ on a Saturday, and great selection on beers and spirits. If they bought you a drink at Christmas they would get 6 stars 😇😊🍹⭐️

When we go here, its always a good expierience, right in the centre of town. Only issue is, it takes a while to be served and there never seems to be enough staff on, even table service isnt a lot quicker.

Great place to go and in the heart of town but was very difficult to get served so had to leave unfortunately. Really hope this improves as I enjoy going in there.

Booked this central pub for an evening meal for a group of 15 / 20 work colleagues at short notice having found it diffict to find a pub that accommodate a group of this size. We found the staff (Vanessa, Nichola and Lexie) to be very friendly and helpful. The bar is well stocked and reasonably priced and the Food choice provided something for everyone and it is great value too (ably provided by Andy? In the kitchen.) Changed our plans for the next day to revisit the Burlington and again we enjoyed a good evening. Good location in chesterfield town centre.
