Burgh Hall in Great Yarmouth

Visited the carvery at Burgh Hall at the weekend (following a disappointing carvery last week at the Where Hotel in Lowestoft) the food was very good and the server gave ample portions of meat, the selection of meat and veg was very good, we will be visiting again more frequently.

Lovely place. Had wonderful meal before going to Sherry Baby event. I had gammon and asked for salad and it came with a huge amount which I was very surprised, was so tasty. All 6 of us had a wonderful meal and a good night at the concert. All staff were professional and helpful.

We booked a table for the carvery for 7 people. We were seated 40 minutes late. The atmosphere was like a canteen not a restaurant. The selection of food was fair. I had to ask for the table to be cleared after dinner to make space for dessert. The server was sullen and made it quite clear she didn't want to be clearing the table. Last time we ate we were in the restaurant and it was a really nice atmosphere. I take my hat off to the family that run the place. But I won't be booking another carvery at Burgh Hall.

If you are looking for a superb carvery with limitless choices of food you dont need to look any further than Burgh Hall . A massive complex with plenty of parking and ease of access for all people no matter their limitations. Run by a passionate family who are on the ball every minute of the day. Interacting with customers and making sure your visit is as best as can be expected. Bar staff , chef's, serving staff are 100% and go far and beyond to accommodate you. Food is superb at a very reasonable price. Give this place a visit as you will not be disappointed and you will no doubt become a regular..

Large car park, good size Clubhouse, kids play zone, comfortable separate Restaurant, Clubhouse is Dog 🐶 friendly. We dined in the Clubhouse as we have a Dog. Good selection of food options on Menu, lots of the options were Homemade, portions were on the larger side and very reasonably priced. 5 of us dined we all had different options and everyone meals were delicious. (Liver & Bacon / Mushroom Stroganoff / Dirty Burger / Lasagna / Scampi) Friendly Staff, recommend a visit. We visited out of season. It is attached to a Holiday Site so could be very busy at times.

I went here for a wedding and was absolutely beautiful! Staff were very helpful and the atmosphere was great.

It was great to return a year away. Pleased to state that it was as good as before. Carvery meal was excellent value, staff their useful friendly and helpful selves, karaoke was brilliant and locals friendly. This place is always busy by all accounts. Having had a dreadful experience recently from another similar establishment, we were so pleased Burgh Hall still delivers.

First time I had been in for a meal. It tasted ok but was cold. I had a word and it was sorted out. Very nice people and a nice old style place.

Great place food very nice very pleasant staff cleared tables quickly would have liked food bit hotter gets very busy and can be bit noisy in the plaza suite restaurant is much quieter but there are 3 steps up to the restaurant which you have to carry your cavery up to your table good choices and only £11 adult cavery £8 children book before hand as is busy

Food and service were fantastic and prices are very good for what you get, one of our favourite places in Yarmouth to eat

First time having a carvery here. The staff are all really friendly. The food was amazing. So much to choose from. Lovely surroundings. Really good value for money. Highly recommend.

Another visit today to this superb venue. Dip in the pool followed by a lovely meal that was incredible value for money. Buy one burger get one free , with no cuts on the quality. Hats off to the superb bar maid who is a credit to Burgh Hall. Friendly , polite, attentive and totally on the ball. Cheers.

Brilliant place to take the family. Live music, heated outdoor pool, restaurant, indoor soft play area and a park.

The carvery had no chicken, beef was tough and the turkey stunk, vegetables were overcooked and soggy, roast potatoes were burnt one side and raw the other, gravy smelt like school dinners

Saturday meal out with hubby, in one of our favorite places! Meal was amazing , good portions and great company. Staff always friendly and helpful, can highly recommend and always value for money, well done Burgh Hall.

Had a fantastic Christmas Day lunch with my partner at Burgh Hall. Everywhere was beautifully decorated for the occasion and looked so festive and welcoming. Great selection of Christmas songs played in the background. Our table for two in the main restaurant looked very special with good quality Christmas crackers. The food was lovely, full of flavour and perfectly cooked. The staff were friendly and attentive and made sure we were happy with everything. A big thank you to all the staff who worked very hard to make it so memorable. From Table 8

Absolutely shambolic. We called previously to unfortunately find that the Boxing Day buffet was sold out and they weren’t cooking any other food. We asked if we could still bring the children to watch tricky twister and other entertainment as well as soft play and they said yes. We arrived to find the pool had no form of cover or protective barrier so was a massive risk to any young children to get them to the door in the first place. Upon entering we found the buffet and entertainment was in the function room… we asked if we could still sit in the function room so the children could access the entertainment but were told the chairs in the function room were for the buffet so the children could go in to watch the entertainment but we had to have a table int he main bar area. This is unacceptable as out of 4 children, 2 are only 2 yr old and both the 5 yr olds have additional needs/health problems that require supervision not to mention their age as well!!! We then took our seats at the table nearest the door with a sign saying “reserved at 4pm” … they then turned the sign over for it to say “reserved at 1pm” so moved us on… the last straw came when we had paid money for drinks and sat where they’d asked us to sit … their entertainment was over lunchtime (12-3) so we got a couple of snacks out for the children (snack sausage rolls and bread rolls) to be told we couldn’t bring our own food and we had to put it away. Putting this altogether we finished our drinks and left and will not coming back after being treated so atrociously.

Went for Sunday carvery so service only required for drinks and dessert

We were 5 hours away from home, having come up for the weekend to visit my step son and his family. Trying to decide where to eat on a Saturday afternoon and he suggested here as the children could play in the children’s play area before dinner. We had not booked but luckily there was a couple of tables free until 7pm when they were reserved. The clock turned 5pm so we were able to order food. We were directed to the restaurant to order, however we were met with a lady who was little rude towards us, stating she wasn’t sure she could fit us in the restaurant (to which we replied stating that was fine as we had a table in the bar) and so we would need to order at the bar. We had told her we were directed to her to order so she told us to wait while she went to enquire. She eventually returned to tell us to go back to the bar to order. We thanked her for her help but a smile from her would’ve gone a long way! (Hence why I haven’t given full stars!). Service at the bar was great! Bar staff polite, friendly and service was given with a smile! We waited about half hour for the food, and when it arrived it didn’t disappoint! It was hot and there was plenty of it on the plate! Before we left, a barman came over to our table and gave us some sweets for the children which I thought was a lovely touch! In my opinion, excellent value for money and we will definitely return next time we come up to visit the family (but will make sure we book a table to guarantee someone to sit!).

An absolute superb venue for live music, staff friendly.

Attended a party in the function room, lovely area, bright and clean but it smelt so bad. Like there was a sewerage problem or bad drainage, especially around the bar area. Put a bit of a downer on the night as it's all I could smell!

Well what a amazing hidden gem, choice of four meats todays was lamb,pork,beef and turkey, Pies on offer too or toad in the hole on the Carvery Sunday if your not one for a roast dinner, Great food freshly cooked and hot too amazing chef serving and carving today, Customer service was great very welcoming and was seated quickly😋 Loads of choice of vegetables and creamy cheesy cauliflower including all the other bits like crackling, stuffing balls,roasted parsnip and Yorkshire puds, Live music and Football on screen in two other rooms so suits all. Will be visiting again and will be telling friends and family, Lola our server was great ensured our drinks were with us promptly and checked on us to ensure everything was okay with our meals or if we needed anything else and with a smile.

Great food since being taken over a few years ago . Well priced and highly recommended for the Sunday roast, Its even safe to have the beef. Lovely and tender meats with a large range of well cooked veg.

Had a great day at the outdoor pool at Burgh Hall. The pool is a good temperature and there's baby pool too. Plenty of tables with parasols, food is lovely and brought to your table. It's a good atmosphere with music etc and the staff are lovely. Would recommend for a good day out.

monkey puzzle is inside the bar . Kids can play all day £3 . The restaurant opens at 5 pm.

Unfortunately we only found this place on our last night. Walked in and it had everything you could want from a family friendly place. Swimming pool, soft play, outside play park, bar area, restaurant area, and to top it off, a massive parrot flying around. The waitress, who's name I didn't get, was fantastic, couldn't of been more helpful. We had a lovely meal for 4, with a nice few beers for 50 quid. Can't ask for more than that.

Food was good . But just pub grub . But dont order the king prawns on the steak , they are not king prawns , i was rather disappointed, but everything else was ok , my husband loved his mixed grill, but so much food , my daughter ate her lamb shank but would of been better if it wasnt shop bought .

Staff are so friendly here, had a lovley meal in the restaurant. Nice cocktails in the bar. Kids had a great time in the pool. Really greatful for this place as we were staying on a caravan next door which was awful . So the hall really made our experience better.

Part of a caravan site restaurant is at the back through the bar. The restaurant is tastefully decorated & tables are nicely spaced out. Excellent portions & very tasty food at a reasonable price. The steak pie was delicious with lots of succulent steak. Banoffee waffle & Baileys cheesecake also very good. If you are in the area this is a must visit place.

We had a second wedding anniversary Meal here on 30th May, 2023. Last minute booking as we saw the restaurant on passing on our holiday. The prices attracted us to the restaurant and a great choice on the menu. Lower than all the pubs restaurants in the area. One of the best meals we have both had for a very long time. My wife had Steak pie and I had the mixed grill. Wowwww. Both meals are so great value and plenty to eat. The best ever mixed grill I have tasted. So much in the grill just could not finish. Great meat choice and cooked perfectly. The staff were lovely and very approachable. I wished complements to the chef and it was lovely he came out to the table to thank us and we thanked him for one of the best meals for a long time. Definitely recommend anyone to try a meal here if your on your travels or local. Would be their at least once a month if we're locals. Keep up the great service, food choice and quality. Popped in to get tickets for a gig that burgh hall have on next week (bloodshake chorus) bar was quite busy but we over heard Jason on the bar mention to a young barmaid people who want tickets can wait we're serving drinks here . Low and behold we were ignored until a 3rd bar staff member came out and eventually sold us our tickets 5-10 minutes later . Very unprofessional Jason and extremely rude especially when we could hear you !!! Hopefully there's better more professional bar staff on on the bloodshake night that can handle a busy bar ?

Brilliant place to go to and prices good

We visited with friends having not been since it was take 2 diner. It was a lovely evening with exceptionally friendly staff and amazing food. The choices available were really good and there’s a really good choice for vegetarians too. The food we had was amazing, the chips really good, The mixed grill is absolutely huge! Really good value for money with a great choice for deserts too. We didn’t feel at all rushed and the atmosphere was very relaxed.The live music started in the bar area at about 9pm and the singer sounded really good, I would imagine a good night could be had in there too. We’ve been saying we would try the Sunday carvery for sometime now, this visited has reinforced our thoughts, we must try the carvery soon. Thank you for a really enjoyable experience We will be back

Excellent service reasonable prices. Decent size meals. Would have given 5 stars but the one thing did disappoint us was we were charged 40p for a soda water. We are going on for 70 years old and only twice ever been charged for soda water this being the second time. I could understand this if it was all we drank but having had meals beer and wine we found this wrong and penny pinching.

Went here for a Sunday roast. The place is booming, they had a singer on and it was busy, but a nice friendly busy. Roast dinner was absolutely delicious. Would recommend 👌

Paul Southey and his staff are brilliant,food is great wide selection of meats,pies,veg,and you can help yourself to as many Yorkshire puddings,great entertainment,you want get a better dinner for a tenner,advise to book as can be very busy at certain times,most definitely be goin again,

Superb atmosphere, Lovely greeting on arrival. The best carvery I've ever had. We all managed a pudding and they were yummy too - roulade, icecream sundae and apple pie. All amazing and will be back soon!! Prices were reasonable too! Staff friendly and attentive. Brilliant 1st visit, thanks 😊

We were undecided what to do on a cold day in January and my wife found Burgh Hall on the Norfolk gig guide website as we both like live music. What a find it proved to be. When we arrived the place was buzzing and after speaking to a friendly member of staff we decided to enjoy a carvery lunch, which was very good value and extremely tasty. We watched a live lady singer who was great and had a few drinks. All local people and staff were extremely helpful and friendly so we decided to stay for the karaoke which was very well supported and extremely well run and professional. What a find - we will definitely go back.

My first experience of burgh Hall was in the late 80s going to Cinderella night club then meeting up with friends at the weekend in 2003 I had my 50 th birthday party there , Dena done us proud , lots of family holiday meet ups on the camp site best of all Sunday carvery yum yum I believe then it was about £7 a head sadly due to circumstances have not been there for years and heard it had got a bit run down due to management but now under new management we tried it last week and it was packed staff friendly food great and at only £10 now for Sunday roast looks like things are now happening and thinking of getting a caravan there now

Super place for all the family. The bar now accepts dogs too, so even the furry family members can enjoy some time out. Worth checking opening times before travelling as changes between 10am and midday depending on time of year. Good menu including quick bites, traditional meals, kids menu, vegan/vegetarian and gluten free options. Carvery available in Sundays. Nice little play area for the under 12s and lovely swimming pool for summer months. Friendly, helpful staff. Just wish we lived a little closer

For the third year in a row...we spent Christmas Day at Burgh Hall...and once again...it was absolutely SUPERB...(I've also had a few Sunday carvery's with my family here)... Nothing is ever too much trouble for Paul, family and staff...The bar staff are excellent, polite and knowledgeable...the restaurant staff thorough, attentive and always go out of their way to help...In the Summer there's a heated swimming pool (even 'cold water' dips have become a thing in the Autumn/Winter months...lol) and the facilities are excellent...and it's all at a very reasonable price...I thoroughly recommend!!!

Christmas night out. Strange set up food was ok. Drinks were cheap but ended up sharing function room with a 60th birthday party. Very odd!

Since taken over by the people from the King Fisher restaurant the venue goes from strength to strength. Great staff Great food Great venue.

Playarea was freezing, bar staff seem to think that with temperatures of minus 4 outside no heating is required quote (kids can run around to warm up)! No wonder it was empty children even attempted to play in coats but at the age of 3 cried because it was too cold would of been warmer to play outside, food was ok large portions ans bot overpriced other than that nothing positive to review at this time of year

This is our favourite place to go when we are at our static. Very well priced Great food, amazing indoor play area for the little one. Lovely staff. This is how all pubs, restaurants should be. They have the balance just right.

We visited here to use the outdoor pool specifically as it's unheated. Cost £3 to swim just pay at the bar. Great place with great facilities. We didn't eat here but we did drink - food smelt and looked lovely. Prices were really good and service helpful and friendly

On a wet and windy night in November what a pleasure great greetings service by Lola excellent food was wonderful and good portions unfortunately although full had to have dessert,,,moved in area will be on our visit again list fully recommended maybe join the cold water swimmers.

Went in for the carvery had to wait very long queue and had to sit in the bar as no tables in the dining room sorry no taste to the meat and the sweed was hard and lumpy and the potatoes was dry must say have had better

Visited here twice this stay . Took friends this time for the Sunday lunch . Excellent value for money . Frends enjoyed their meal too. A slight delay due to our booking been being booked in the wrong name. However Paul the owner sorted this very quickly , even offered my friends partner a seat while waiting for the table . And soon all resolved. Cannot fault the staff who are kind, and quick service. Good value for money too . We visited again later in the week just for a drink . Love this place and Paul the owner is very kind and caring too . There is also a swimming pool and outside seating . Ideal for families and children to enjoy a swim . Entertainment is also available .Plus Christmas options available .

Excellent food at reasonable prices fair bar prices very pleasant staff. Only disappointing thing they charge 40p for a small glass of soda water. We are going on for 70years old and this is only the second time we have ever been charged for this. We did purchase beer and wine with the meals so I was very unhappy at being charged for soda water.

Last weekend we celebrated my parents 65th Wedding Anniversary. The food was excellent, getting out 22 different meals is no mean feat. Everything was cooked well and importantly it was hot when it arrived. Paul and his team of staff have been helpful from the start and nothing was to much trouble. On the night we could not have asked for anymore. Thank you for making it a memorable experience for everyone. We look forward to returning to sample the Sunday carvery.

While on holiday we went there for dinner the food was really tasty and it was a lovely place. Friendly staff.

Went in on the spur of the moment for a meal on a Monday to be told there's no food on Monday or Wednesday

Disappointed that in this climate my wife got lectured about having a kids meal off the menu as one money had been spent on drinks and soft play and two who knows about peoples circumstances how much they can eat or afford disgusted with this attitude will not be returning

We had a terrible experience the previous day in a different restaurant in Great Yarmouth food was delicious but the service was poor enough for me and my family to leave and not return. We were therefore hoping for a more pleasant experience here. Wow we couldn't be happier the place was clean and tidy. The food was absolutely delicious well done to the kitchen team. As stated you can have the best kitchen team but without a good front of house team you might as well be serving ready meals. I have to say the two female members of staff working front of house couldn't have been anymore helpful. They spoke to us in general, asked if things were ok during our meal, made sure drinks were topped up. They never stopped working from the moment we arrived until the moment we left. Honestly this place is onto a winner of they keep doing what they were doing. We returned a few days later with more family and again everyone in the party was happy with the food and service.

Beautiful food served by beautiful people. I would 100% recommend this place mixed grill was the best I have ever had.
