I had the opportunity to be there three times, the service is fast and the waiters are very friendly. The food is very good and they have a variety of typical Scottish beer. On all occasions I did not make a reservation and I did not have to wait for a table to be assigned to me. However, it is a busy place, so I recommend making a reservation.

Very nice team! Served very quickly! A little expensive for my taste, and the fries are an extra, they are not included in the price of the burger! Otherwise very nice restaurant, good musical atmosphere and great waiter!

We had a wonderful visit. Food was wonderul and our service was excellent. Luke took care of our table and he was attentive; checking on us often to make sure the food was good and that we had all we needed. He even spent some time answering our questions about Scotland.

This was the first place we grabbed a bite when landing in Edinburgh and I 10/10 recommended. Wings and the Independence Burger were delicious. Our serve LUKE was fantastic, able to accommodate and gave us recommendations that did NOT disappoint! Loved the music and the overall vibe of this place.

Nice atmosphere and excellent service!!! Loved the wings!!! Let down on the burger as you have to pay extra for the chips(!!!) They have a decent kids menu with options and fun activities.

Mac was a super star, very friendly and couldn't do enough for us. We noticed that she was the same with every table she was serving, it was great to see. The food was also very good, we had some burgers (lots of options, including vegan and vegetarian), halloumi, fried and two milkshakes. Everything tasted amazing and next time we're in Edinburgh we'll be back

Popped in at weekend for a bite to eat and drink. Staff very friendly and service was excellent (Lauren served us). Had hotdog,fries and haggis bites and all delicious. However think £16.50 for the glass of pinot grigio is a bit excessive. (Didn't notice price before I ordered so was my own fault) Won't stop me coming back though but will just order the cheaper wine 😉

The food was dry like paper. Tasted like eating cardboard. Meal overpriced, for £18 you get just a burger, nothing else. At least the service was nice. Service charge included in the price.

It's not even the best burger by any means (they advertise it that way). You judge the best price: £94 for 1 hamburger with fries, 2 dogs and onion rings plus 2 Coke and 1 chocolate Milk shake...., one and no more Saint Thomas.

Although Scottish ourselves felt a bit ripped off at prices, obviously aimed at tourists. £16 for a glass of Pinot Grigio? £17 for a hot dog. But hey-ho there you go.... it was a learning experience, in other words I won't be back

Overall Thoughts: in Edinburgh Scotland for a High School Field Trip. Obviously as an American we LOVE Burgers! We had some time before touring a museum and needed some lunch! My wife had the Independence Burger and really liked it.

Lauren and the whole staff were kind, quick and accommodating. She also gave us recommendations for the area when we said we were visiting from Canada! Great good, fantastic service, all in a cool pub location.

Luke was great. Chicken wings were the best I've had outside of the US of A.

We popped in here for lunch. More expensive than similar places along the Royal Mile, for beer and food, but quality of both was ok. The service was good, which raised the rating, but felt a little "chainy" for us, hence to lower atmosphere score. Down on Princes Street it may have scored higher among similar restaurants there.

We had a great dinner here. Luke was a great help!!

I had their Nice n Cheesy Burger. I cannot say the burger was bad, but I've had much better burgers from non-award winning burger places. Their menu options in terms of burger as well seem limited. Wouldn't say don't go, but, there are better places to check out before you go here on The Royal Mile.

Very yummy barbecue ribs. Fun place with music, a bar, and seated dinning. Most memorable was our server Anya! Super funny, helpful and cool. No joke, for the next few days whenever my mom said "Good on ya" about anything, we would say "Good Anya!" in response. 😆 Cheers Anya! 😁

I ate here with some family while on holiday, we didn't have a reservation but the staff found a table for us anyway! The onion rings were probably the best I've had, the batter was wonderfully light and crunchy, and the onions themself were tender and flavorful! Our server Anya was wonderful, she was very friendly and it was fun having her serve us!

Chose this place during my short holiday in Edinburgh. The atmosphere was amazing: lively and with an amazing playlist!! Food was spot on: meat was cooked at the perfection and wasn't greasy at all. Felt a bit "kicked out" by the end of my meal by the waitress, she just asked if I wanted the bill without checking if I wanted anything else... but not a big deal! Will still recommend it/ come back!

Amazing burgers, good drinks, good vibes here. Dan was my server and he was friendly, had great recommendations and took care of me and my crew. Even made some talk over American football which made me feel at home so far away. Would recommend.

Nonetheless, despite crowded place, they organized quickly a table for us 6, super friendly and attentive service, good food for burger lovers (probably not the right place for vegetarians), centrally located in the heart of Edinburgh, I.e. only accessible on foot

Excellent service beautiful venue delicious food that has been reasonably reviewed and priced. Don't overdo it with your order, because the burgers are filling and the appetizers come in decent portions.

Nice and youthful steak house in Old Edinburgh. Also interesting for those like me who don't eat meat with pleasure, the veg solutions are excellent. Good beer and whiskey selections. Recommended and I would happily return if the opportunity arises again

The atmosphere was very grunge and emo with lots of drunk men swearing but they say its all child friendly. It was fine for me as a 23 year old but for children less so

We have been going to this branch in Edinburgh for nearly two years and always the food is first class. Felt a bit rushed on Saturday to be fair and this has never happened before, think this was because of the fringe. Food is always wonderful, cooked to perfection and always hot. Range of drinks is excellent

Me and my boyfriend were on our holiday and came to this place to try it out. Omg the burgers were very filling but so good! We're glad to see that they have veggie or vegan options for the patties as well. Cluck-less chicken is a good one. We had lovely cocktails with toasted meringues on top, lemon meringue pie cocktail and the macaroon cocktails. And we were both done after we finished ourselves with the tea tunnocks shakes. Totally filled up our bellies.🤪😆 Thank you for the delicious meal and lovely service. Much appreciated!

Honestly, this was a great place to get some grub and have a pint. I went to two other places before, and I was standing waiting. (Long story, let's say their service had different standards) Instantly was welcomed by the bartender, my server was phenomenal. I had to ask her name, it's Lauren. Not only great to me, but the entire area. Checked on us all in a timely manner, bubbly, and great at her job. Food was quick, and it's exactly what you would expect. Burgers and beer. I got the nice 'n' cheesy, and I'm a vegetarian. It was no problem, was recommended a local beer. Food came right away, like I'm talking 15minutes. This is exactly what I needed after a long day of travel and exploring. I hope anyone looking for cozy local food, decides to stop by. I think too, the burger I ate was filling and didn't make me feel gross after. It's simple in a good way, I'm so happy I stopped here. This is spacious, good vibe, not too loud. And a variety of people are here- of all ages and experiences. I would 10/10 come here again and I wish we had it in Canada!

Amazing restaurant. Staff were super friendly and provided great service. No-nonsense menu with interesting options, and the food was excellent. Clean and well maintained bathrooms and seating areas. The beer was real good too, would recommend the coast to coast IPA. Would happily go again!

Just go and enjoy, great service, amazing burgers, delicious cocktails - couldn't comment on the beers but looked like a good selection. Never had such a dense and meaty burger, going to try the chicken next time. The onion rings were fantastic and I can thoroughly recommend the tater tots with haggis topping.

Visited here during our trip to Edinburgh. We were early for our booking but they accommodated us fine eventhough they were busy. We were not rushed and the food was great. Very friendly and relaxed atmosphere.

This place was absolutely amazing, the literal best burger Ive ever eaten. You must try the scottmans burger, those haggis fritters oooo wee. Also Dan was super kind and gave us plenty of travel advice for a tourist and some local bars to go to. Would definitely eat here again

Food was cooked in old cooking fat, sweet potato fries were inedible and the onion rings and haggis waste same. A pity as the place looked good on arrival, very disappointed.

Hors de prix (je viens pourtant de Paris) pour une cuisine décevante. J’ai commandé un burger Angus, ce n’était pas mauvais mais ce n’était définitivement pas ce que j’appellerais un steak Angus. J’ai aussi commandé un hot dog qui était vraiment très basique et pain sec. Je n’ai pas non plus apprécié le tips « optional » qui est directement compté dans l’addition. Cependant l’équipe est au top

A very good hamburger place. The staff looks after you, they quickly take orders, bring drinks to the table, they're really friendly. The burgers were good, we were completely satisfied. The environment is cosy and welcoming for hamburger place standards. Overall, I recommend it.
