Another beautiful meal. We've been coming to Bure River Cottage since our children were born and our eldest is about to turn 13. Everything from the homemade bread to the chocolate pot was mouthwatering. Smoked mackerel pate, cod goujons, anchovies and grilled seabass and vegetables were just delicious Very attentive and polite waiting staff also. Thank you. My sister and I brought our Mums for an Easter treat and I couldn't recommend this restaurant more highly. Superb fresh mussels, Cromer crabs, skate, halibut and deserts to die for. Friendly, helpful service made this a thoroughly enjoyable evening. Thank you!

Really good, excellent food. My only criticism is the wine list which should have more old world wines on it, why a chenin blanc from SA for example when there are much better ones from the Loire eg Savennieres, Anjou and Saumur. Also from a sustainability point of view it's got to be better getting wine from closer by. More English wine would be great too, eg Kits Coty Chardonnay or Kits coty Bacchus, something from Danbury Ridge.

Excellent seafood restaurant. Small and popular so do book ahead even out of season. The menu is on a large blackboard that gets carted around the restaurant and presented to each table as they order. I went for local seafood, dressed Cromer Crab (with proper mayonnaise) followed by lobster, both excellent, but there were a wide range of fish and seafood choices to keep all of our group happy. Cozy atmosphere and very good service, so would highly recommend.

Lovely restaurant serving a range of fish dishes. I had swordfish whilst my wife had sea bream. Both were excellent. We liked the idea of sharing bowls for the chips, potatoes (yes you can have both) and veg. Service was very friendly and efficient.

We were here on holiday and spotted this restaurant, and decided to book, so glad we did, the food was spectacular, along with great service, we will be back next time we are here.

Enjoyed a couple of fantastic meals here while staying in Horning. The quality of the food was exceptional and it was good value for money for the quality provided. All staff were pleasant and service was not rushed, which we appreciated. Would highly recommend. Be sure to book in advance, especially during peak season, to avoid disappointment. A must for fish lovers.

I was very excited to take my seafood-fan of a father-in-law here based on the great reviews. I have found Google ratings for restaurants good for predicting places that I like, scores of 4.5+ stars (with sufficient numbers of reviews) rarely fail me. We must have caught the kitchen on a bad day as the lobsters were dried, likely to have been cooked & held. The simple preparation of ‘garlic butter’ shouldn’t need anything other than split open, apply the butter & salamander? The intention to treat a dear relative to a dish they love, but oftentimes unwilling to choose due to the sense that they feel it is too extravagant makes the disappointment all the more keenly felt. The service was attentive and efficient and starters were good. Extensive menu.

Exceptional sea food restaurant.

Found this beautiful little gem of a restaurant whilst venturing around the broads and what a wonderful place to eat. The food was delicious and very nice interior with wonderful staff. Would recommend if you love your seafood.

Met up for dinner here with some long-standing friends while boating on the Broads in March 2023. It is a lovely small restaurant serving superb food. We'll be back next time we're on the Broads.

Excellent. There aren't many places that are busy before 6pm but this one was. So determined are people to sample the food, that dinner can really be early evening. Staff helpful and efficient.

Beautifully cooked food, I had scallops to start followed by halibut both were well cooked and delicious. The restaurant is fairly noisy when busy, making it a bit hard to hear the table conversion. But overall well work a visit for a special treat!

Staff were excellent, food was average, prices were rather steep. Based on the reviews seen on the web we were expecting an excellent meal which turned out to be reasonable and rather expensive.

We booked this as a family for a birthday treat. The staff working there were all super friendly and the menu was delightful. Specialising in seafood and fish, the baked crab and tuna was exceptional. The restaurant whilst small was nicely presented and clean and tidy, including the toilets. Would highly recommend.

My family visited Bure River Cottage for a Father's Day treat after walking past it multiple times. We had three courses, all delicious. Everything was cooked very well and with excellent flavours. On the last day of our holiday we had a fantastic meal at the Bure River Restaurant. Probably the best restaurant meal we have ever had. My wife and I visited in October and were delighted we did.The staff were very welcoming and friendly and the food was excellent.We had the mussels and baked crab to start and then the pan fried sea bream and the halibut. All were fantastic with beautifully cooked veg sides.Lovely bottle of wine too and have to say the value for money is very good for the quality of the food you get. Felt very lucky to have managed to get a table at what was the last minute!! OMG!! I cannot give this restaurant enough praise. The food was fresh, it was hot and it was tasty. The staff could not have done more for us than they did. Chef came to see us at the end of the evening and it was an absolute delight to speak with her. I really want to recommend this restaurant but I'm afraid if I do, then I'll never get the chance to get a last minute table ever again!! We are just returned from eating at the restaurant. 2 fish courses x 2 cooked to perfection and vegetables ‘to die for!’ Served hot and very scrumptious. And to finish an indulgent choc desert. Have visited this restaurant 4 times over the last two or three years and the service and quality of the food remains constantly very good . The starters of scallops crab and sardines were good this was followed by one of us having lobster and three of us having halibut this came with a nice selection of veg ,the only down side for all that had the halibut was that it was extremely small Even my wife commented that it was small,I suspect they are trying to keep food cost down while maximizing profitably I can understand that but I left with the impression that I had been more than slightly mugged

I booked a table for myself as my wife was away and I didn't fancy cooking for one.While the food was tasty and nice, the portions were a complete JOKE.... They were TINY.The fish portion was as big as the palm of your hand, the size of the vegetables portions was no better.In short, I came out as hungry as I went in.. Never again.. .certainly not at these prices.

I booked Bure River Cottage as a treat for my dad as an early Father’s Day surprise. We travelled an hour and a half from Suffolk as I’d read so many great things about this seafood restaurant. It did not disappoint. Fantastic service and atmosphere from the moment we walked in - a great range of options on the menu and kitchen staff who were more than accommodating with my dad’s fussy requests. Good wine selection from local vineyards, and the food was exceptional. I have already recommended this restaurant to many friends, and we will definitely be back in the near future. I thought it was exceptionally priced for the calibre of food. Well done all.

On holiday to the area, so happy that we found this place. I’d like to say a hidden gem, but was comfortably busy for a Tuesday evening. Food was cooked to perfection. Waiting staff more than attentive, kept on making sure we were ok with our 3m old- makes eating together slightly harder. Would happily go back again if we were ever in the area, 100% recommend.

On holiday down here thought we would book this restaurant. The fish is highly recommended cooked to order very fresh and great service by the girls serving.In fact we will be coming back to Honiton in September for another week have already booked up as they are booking a month ahead. It was the last night of our holiday and we had pre-booked to eat here because of the great reviews. We weren't disappointed. An extensive choice of starters and main courses all seasonal and lots local. The service was efficient, friendly and unpretentious. Good choice of wines and the food was excellent. Would love to have this restaurant closer to our home in Kent.
